I have never experienced love, warmth or concern from this Organization. I have tried to adopt animals and was met with the rudeness, I have even inquired about donations and was met with rudeness. My latest incident occurred just two days ago. I found a cat in my driveway that was severely injured. Her leg was either crushed or broken. The poor baby girl cried in agony. I called ACCT And by some miracle someone answered immediately. The person on the phone was very nonchalant and offered me no help. When I explained the situation he said that someone was on their way but could not give me a timeframe. I waited in the driveway for more than three hours. I called and called and got no answer. Finally around one in the morning I barricaded the cat so that she wouldn’t disappear and continue to call. If I may add this was one of the sweetest cats I’ve ever encountered. I finally got through again somewhere between four and five in the morning and was told I was on the list. I spoke to someone again just before eight in the morning and was told that someone would be at my house before 10 in the morning. No one showed up. I got through two more times and still no one showed up. The last time I spoke to someone was shortly before three in the afternoon. While talking to this woman I found out that they never had any intentions on picking this cat up and in fact had it written down as if this cat was just a stray. It was despicable how this animal was treated and it was despicable that I kept being lied to by several different staff members. I was warm to the staff and kindly kissed everyone of their butts just to get this cat help. I care about animals and I donate to the shelters & I rescue animals and as an animal lover I hope they do better in the future. Btw this has been a common experience for several YEARS now.

Going to give 3 stars only because I’m just so disappointed in them. I seen a stray dog a few days ago & have been searching for her everyday, day & night sense. Yesterday she was spotted in the same area & today she is at ACCT. This facility wasted no time spaying this poor dog. I understand we want to control the population, but this dog was extremely malnourished. They couldn’t even wait for her to be nursed back to health. Sorry Im just 100% against spaying & neutering. It’s just not right.

I had a great experience at ACCT Philly when I adopted my cat Mary a few days ago. The girl that was helping me with adopting my Mary was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about each cat. I was first interested in adopting a kitten but decided not to when I seen this small female cat in the corner named Mary who was almost 4years old and decided she was the one. Mary is the best cat I ever had took her literally 5 mins to adjust to her home, she is the sweetest most affectionate cat ever and all she wants to do is cuddle and be close to me. Thank you ACCT in helping Adopt my Mary she is the best!!!.

ACCT does an amazing job with the resources they have. I have helped out with the kitten foster program in the past and the staff goes above and beyond every single night to ensure each kitten gets placement. They are incredibly dedicated and hardworking. If volunteers are not available, I have heard of staff themselves taking home MULTIPLE litters of bottlefeeding kittens to avoid euthanasia. They take the best care of these kitties possible. Please spay and neuter your pets to help reduce the overwhelming influx of kittens who need homes! And please encourage the City to properly fund ACCT so they can continue this lifesaving work.

Please never go here. It seems the main goal of the organization is to euthanize dogs, not save them. Despite many emails and phone calls concerning the adoption of a dog “Buster”, the ACCT ignored all of them (even LOCKING the doors of the shelter when potential parents came) they decided it would be easier to put him down for biting a sweater. These people pretend to like animals (I refuse to say love). I will tell you why. About a month ago I was moving and had to give up my pets. 3 month prior I had contacted them and they said they would make an appointment so I could drop off my pets. Back to a month ago, it was 2 months and I heard nothing. So as my move date arrived, I had to place my pets. I drove to this place and asked them to take me pets. It was 12pm and I needed to out of my house. Those so called animal likers told they needed to input my information so they could take my pets but there computers were down. I asked if they could just take my pets. They said no. Come back at 4pm. And so I left. I had to drive around for 45 minutes until I found a lady and her young daughter who were able to take my pets. I would like to think a place like this would be willing to take pets in emergency situations. They acted as heartless as any big box for profit company out there. I would strongly recommend you leave your animals out in the street before you give them to these soulless dead in side husks that may or may not have been warm blooded human beings.

Don’t want to be negative but I’m extremely upset with this shelter, When I purchased my dog they told me everything was fine and she was healthy first day she came home she threw up, I didn’t take it seriously because all dogs throw up but fast forward to today my dog has been throwing up every other hour and had bloody diarrhea.I searched the symptoms up and all of them pointed to parvo (which is 80% fatal btw). So I put two and two together and realized that she was sick when I received her because of the vomiting.I took her back there and told them her symptoms and was immediately dismissed and was told that parvo can be contracted from other dogs so they literally told on themselves so long story short I will be getting a lawyer and I will be suing if you’re thinking about purchasing a pup from this shelter have them tested for parvo

After posting a dog (Spunky) who was left behind by his owners and terrified, and only giving the poor boy about 48 hours to be pulled by a rescue or else he’d be euthanized, I tried contacting ACCT to pull him myself. Their Facebook page is run by volunteers with no information on the urgent case dogs, but gave me an email to contact. I reached out prior Spunky’s cut off time of being put down, but never got a response. I call their office multiple times and chose different departments each time to see if I could speak to someone, but no one picked up any of their phone lines. I tried my hardest to save an innocent dogs life, but ACCT seems to not care at all.

They euthanized a dog to hide their abuse of it. When the owners showed to get Saint they wanted a note from a vet for the dogs jaw that they broke. They also blamed the police for breaking it. When the owner returned the dog was euthanized. This is all on video and they admitted they were wrong. But haven’t taken full responsibility. They’ve lied numerous times and no one has been held responsible.

We got an email at 4:17 pm stating the dog couldnt have surgery that day due to other surgeries. We were very disappointed and frustrated. We were in contact with his foster and he was great but he couldnt get a hold of them EITHER. I waited until 8 am when they opened to discuss his surgery and arrangements for his pick up. They never answered the phone. At 12:30 pm I said enough is enough after several calls and unanswered emails I got back on the road and went to ACCT. I waited outside in line with no one to guide us it was a little confusing. We had to sign in outside at a table where I assumed a volunteer would be stationed. I finally got the dog all they wanted was a signature. I was so happy to finally have my boy. He has been through a lot but we will love him back to health and teach him what love is. Lets just start by saying the entire staff was courteous, friendly, professional, and they went above their call of duty when it came to reuniting me with my son! The facility itself is very neat and clean. Their medical staff even updated my sons vaccinations and gave him a microchip. They made me do a walk by to make sure my dog recognized me. Once he went wild and crazy then proceeded to do flips in his kennel they were convinced he was mine 😂😂😂 they sped the process up even faster. The section where you retrieve your lost pets didnt open until 10:00am the ACCT team had me and my son back home by 9:00am. I appreciated everything this place and the staff did for me and my son. I have two reviews:First, the most recent, my mom had a sickly cat whom shed taken to two different vets within a year. Her cat did not get better, but worse so, she decided to take him to ACCT Philly. She thought it was better to do that than allow him to continue to suffer at home; he kept losing weight and each vet she visited did not know what the problem was. The first thought he was constipated, provided meds, that wasnt the case. And the other thought he had a tapeworm and provided him with meds to deworm and steroids to help him gain his weight back and another med for an infection. Cool. The next thing we know his situation seems to be worsening so, she did what she thought was best for her cat. She contacted ACCT Philly and spoke to a staff member and told them all that occurred with her cat within the past year and how his situation has not changed for the better; the staff member said it sounds like a medical problem and theyd welcome him in. My mom went to drop him off and the service she received was not fair nor polite. She completed the paperwork and the staff took her cat. She was rushed out by one of the staff members while she was grieving over letting her cat go. Then a day later a cop from the PSPCA came knocking on my moms door talking about a file that was filed against her about animal abuse. Shocked, she was!!! The cop entered the home and asked questions, which ACCT Philly, should have asked before assuming the worse. The cop from the PSPCA said she was going to close the case because she can see that there was no foul play involved. We provided her with all the information about his vet appts, etc. It was not my moms fault that ACCT did not ask those questions when she arrived there, and it was not my moms fault that the information she gave to the staff member who she spoke with on the phone did not record or pass the information along to the staff who greeted my mother when she arrived. ACCT PHILLY NEEDS TO DO BETTER! THEY ASSUMED THE WORST WHEN THAT WAS NOT THE CASE! My mom even notified ACCT Philly that if they could save him that she would want him back; sadly, they jumped to a horrible conclusion without having all the facts! Typical in todays society. Dont be black and bring a sickly cat in!!!Second review:Back in Fall 2020, I went to visit ACCT Philly to try and adopt a kitty. I tried online, but that was not successful, Id complete the paperwork for a kitten and Ill have the day for the interview, and next thing you know the kitten was adopted. This happened twice. So, I decided to visit the physical location. Remind you its the fall, and it gets dark early, my son and I are outside waiting, at the adoption ctr to be allowed entry. No one, although two staff members are sitting at the front desk says anything to us. I tried to call, no answer. I knocked on the glass door, no answer. I started to get irritated because it was rude to ignore someone, as they did. I continued to wait because my son wanted a kitten. Patience is key, right? Finally, patrons are leaving and holds the door for us to enter! I enter waiting to be greeted by the ladies sitting behind the receptionist/front desk nothing; they actually, walked and entered a door, not sure where that door led to. I was shocked, however, at that moment a staff member walked out from another door and greeted me. I informed her of all that happened and she apologized and said that was the second time someone told her that happened. Thats horrible! That those staff members dont know how to work with certain people OR dont want to work with certain people! I dont know what the problem is, but it needs to get fixed!!! Dont look over and pacify it, fix the situation. I even wrote a letter to them and received no reply! It shows they do not care! Thats sad! They do have some awesome animals, but thats it! Its a blessing those animals dont share that same blood!!!

I took a Fur Baby there that I was ready to burst to have little Fur Babies of her own, next time Im going to be more vocal about how the guys carry my Fur Babies, they may have changed who run the place, but as far as the workers, theyre as rude as always, Im talking about the ones that are supposed to be taking careof these Fur Babies when they come in.... Fluffy is the one I took to ACCT because she was due to give birth and I noticed that her right foot was swollen and she was really hurt bad....

Please do not bring animals here, they will be euthanized if they are too hard to train. They deny rescue shelters and have a track record for being hard to work with. #JusticeforBuster

This is 3 stars instead of 5 for something that may not entirely be their fault. My ex called me to see if me and my son could take his cat if he needed us to, then he passed away days later. They removed the cat from the home that same day, a couple hours before I got to his house, then wanted $40 to get the cat back (which I had to borrow as it was a day before payday) and I had to get shot records with my name on it (thankfully I took the cat to the vet under my name while my ex and I were still together years ago). Otherwise our poor cat, who was so aggressive toward staff out of fear, would have been stuck in a cage covered by a blanket for 5 days (she was the only cat out of many whos cage was completely covered), then put into adoption status open to the public (leaving her petrified for 5 days in the dark when I wanted her immediately). I believe they would have euthanized her because of her attacking them to the point that they were afraid to give her shots. She would have been deemed unadoptable. The day after I got her home she readjusted to her normal self and is happy, loving, and playful with my cat. They got 3 stars because the staff was amazing, helpful, and worthy of 5 stars, but theyre forced to follow rules that are worthy of 1 star. Even if your spouse passes away while youre at the market, theyll remove your pet from the home if nobody is home.... you wont be able to reclaim the pet if your spouse happened to be the one to take him/her to the vet.Ive included pics of the docile kitty, Opal, at home with her new loving family, as well as a photo of the first few minutes we freed her in the pet carrier.
