This is the worst rental company. They do not take care of their properties at all. They over charge and make you live in unsafe living conditions. Do not rent from them. Their properties are not safe or affordable housing. These houses should be condemned. Please please please do not rent from them if you are a Bradley student you will be very disappointed!!!!!
We have rented fron Ideal since 2014 til may of 2020. We never had any issues. Would probably still be renting from them if we hadnt been able to become homeowners. If there was a maintenance problem it was always taken care of the next day. Every time I had to call the office they have always been polite with me and made sure any problems I had was addressed! No complaints here!! Thank you Ideal!.
Great family owned company that has been in business in our area for a very long time. 24 hr maintenance and affordable rent are just two perks. Highly recommend them for your rental needs.
Water leaks into my house at the slightest bit of rain, this has happened since august (currently November). I’ve contacted them 5 times about this issue and been told someone will come out and take a look at it, yet nothing. Cheap housing and easy to sign, but won’t fix anything less it poses an immediate threat to life.
The directors (Mo & Shaon) for this company are extremely rogue!!!! They were “starting up” a new business insisted on my cousin & another to work for them then made a big deal when it was time to pay. She had to ask several times & I’m sure her colleague still hasn’t been paid. They then made covid-19 an excuse to drop the project & blocked them off all communication to avoid paying them for the 1.5 month they worked. They wanted them to work for free from the very beginning. Be aware do not work for them as you will loose other opportunities, time & money!!!
While the house was nice, the people working in the office are so incredibly unhelpful and have less personality than the stump in my back yard. When calling to ask about an abate notice on my house, Ashley was about as specific as the notice from the city even when I asked what was needed from me as the tenant. My family and i were hoping to find a long term house in Peoria, but with attitudes like what was displayed, Ideal Rentals should change their name because the employees are abysmal.
Great for student housing. They are helpful with their repairs and reasonably priced. Remember you get what you pay for, some of the houses are not in the best shape.
I WOULD STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!! SKETCHY APPROVAL/RENTAL PRACTICES. My boyfriend and I applied for the non-student rental house at 1811 W Ayres Ave Peoria, IL and were approved - AFTER a they ran a credit check JUST FOR US TO GO SEE THE HOME! The house was in fair condition - would be OK with a little TLC and sprucing up but anyway there was a piece of the fence down in back and a power line hanging down and it was no where near updated inside. They lady showing us the house didnt even know about the fence and downed power line. After seeing it we were set to move forward and then the next day I get a call from Nikki saying she was still waiting for manager approval but that hes VERY PARTICULAR about who he puts in that house. She then said that they had another home they could offer us. It was not in the area I wanted to be in and it was also almost 1000 sq ft smaller (and only $100 bucks cheaper a month). I then explained that we would like to be in that vicinity due to my son attending school nearby. She said shed let the manager know. About an hour or so later she called me back to tell me that the manager would not approve us to rent that specific house (even though our combined monthly income is more than 4 times the rent) because again HES VERY PARTICULAR about who he puts this home. I still dont understand entirely what that means, but I believe it had something to do with us either being a young black family, or the fact that they are saving it to rent to Bradley students, but if it is the student housing issue - its unfair and FALSE ADVERTISING to list it as both and then decide last minute they would rather it be student housing. Makes no sense at all to me. It seemed suspect from the first time she called me referring us to a smaller, cheaper home. We ended up respectfully withdrawing our application due to this suspect behavior and I have never written a review before but based on other reviews I read and my own personal experience, I thought people should know about how this place treats applicants and potential renters.RESPONSE: Qualify? My rental history is sketchy?? PLEASE. You and I both know that my income alone more than qualifies me to rent one of your dumpy houses. I discussed my rental history with your manager and he seemed to understand what happened and even offered me the house on 410 Cooper St. which is THE SAME PRICE AS THE HOUSE ON AYRES. Now explain that. Since you responded the way you did, I know FOR SURE you chose not to rent to us due to our ethnicity. That is Ideal Rentals loss... and MOST CERTAINLY not ours.
Ive filled out a couple requests.. Ive let it be known that I am a student, but Ive never rented before.. Ive hardly any contact with them there.... the last I spoke with someone they told me I was denied because I put my boyfriend as my landlord, which is true but what else do I do when Im not on the lease, I just pay half/half with him.. So I can only assume they dont allow anyone with no rental history?? Thats just a guess.. they have nice locations, I drive by some all the time, I will try to call again, because I really need a new place.. maybe something can be worked with because its not like I dont have the money.. I just dont have tenant history..
The lady that uses obviously way too much bronzer that works in the office is so unpleasant. Horrible attitude and breath reeks of cigerettes.
I wish I had read the reviews here before i ever contacted this company!as others have stated the woman Ashley is very rude in demeanor and apparently loves to belittle people she feels is in a lower position than she is, I turned in everything she asked for and i did meet all income requirements. my rental history is emacculent. I have all paper work to prove as well that my history is great and my credit is not bad either, only to get a call from Ashley stating too many children in my household to rent to me. I asked if they had anything that could accomedate my family (a 4 bedroom) she immediately told me no in a very unkind way. but i know for a fact the site has 2 other homes listed for rent that are sizable enough for my family. At first i was very disappointed as this is the first time i have ever been turned down when applying for a home, but now i am thankful because now i know not to deal with Ashley or Idealrentals now or in the future. so yes thanks Ashley for turning my family away leaving us opportunity to find bigger better opportunities! Its Idealrentals lose not ours youve lost the opportunity to have great dependable tenants because you think your better than the people applying for your rental listings! Again thanks Ashley for doing as much as you could to give us the worst experience possible in our cross country move!
I too would give them 0 stars. They say you have to do credit check before you see the place, worst policy ever. I cant imagine how difficult theyd be if I became a tenant.
I’ve tried countless amounts of times to rent with these people, and when I say I’ve had THE WORST experience with them, I mean it. The woman who sits in the office is so rude, it’s literally questionable how she still has the job she does. She’s so ignorant, and just not a people person. When I say that, I’m saying it professionally. Because what I really want to say about this woman is just going to play me right into her characterization. Upon explaining to this woman who I was and how many times I’ve called, at first she acted as if she didn’t recall who I was, then she did acknowledge who i was. Asked her why I have yet to get a call back, she goes “because we denied you obviously.” I asked her why, because I have no rental history? She said yes. Okay, well why couldn’t you just have told me that over the phone? That makes no sense considering I have a cousin who lives in one of their properties and he had no rental history or credit. Upon asking her if I could resubmit an application she further made me feel belittled by asking me are you sure your credit would be able to afford it? It will ding it down and if you don’t have any why would you want us to ding it again? I was so disgusted in her mannerism and just the fact that I’ve been looking for a home and I’ve gotten NOTHING from a place that is supposed to cater to people of my environment and situation. I regret even trying to attempt at an opportunity to give this place my money and business, and I pity the people that do and have had the same issue that I have had. And to the woman behind the desk, I pity you the most.
I was reluctant to edit my initial review, but I feel this should be done. I am a current tenant of an Ideal Rental property. This is my first time renting from them and it will be my last. My experience has been subpar to say the least. Things that are wrong with ideal rentals and the property:-the two women in the office- specifically Ashley- is the worst person to deal with. She has no customer service skills and can never specifically answer any of your questions. Very condescending tone. And canceling apartment showings 15 minutes before the appointment for no reason is unprofessional.-after the people come spray for bugs they do not lock the top part of your door lock which is inappropriate. They should leave the property the way they find it. Also a very strange request by the exterminators that they want to spray chemicals in your kitchen cabinets, and you cannot get the name of the chemical they are spraying-where your food and kitchen accessories go.-the apartment has no hood over the kitchen stove which is a major hassle when cooking.-parking is awful in the shared back parking lot.-packages are thrown in the front lobby area where anyone can take them.-winter snow removable is about non-existent because Ideal Rentals doesnt work on the weekends. Expect the back parking lot, sidewalks, and all entranceways to be snow covered and icy at all times.-the two morons with the beat up blue pick-up trucks are really the icing on the cake.Worst rent experience ever. Do not recommend. They only want to charge students high prices and collect money; none of the money is re-invested into the properties to improve the quality.
Cant get past receptionist
Wouldnt even give it one STAR but had to comment they are nothing but liars and cant fix nothing right if you see them run the opposite direction
Great company to get housing from and will treat you with class.
Im A Renter of Ideal Rentals. The apartment is affordable the only bad thing is that The House Has A ROACH Problem. When i call for maintenance to come out and spray They Do Respond Quickly And Come Out In A Timely Fashion. They Dont Pay For Orkin To Come Out Which Is A Bummer. I was Told By A Maintenance That My Neighbors are nasty So Thats Why The house has them.
If I could give 0 stars I would... I called to look at a few houses that was for rent for $595 a month 3 bedrooms each.... I called and said I liked one and wanted to rent it... I then was asked if I could provide cilco and water.... To which I replied I can and then was asked how much I make... I then replied about the SSI benefits I receive for my nephew who I care for.... And was flat out told I COULD NOT legally be rented to because they wasnt sure about cilco and water being paid.... But I NOW live right next door to the house I wanted to rent from I deal rentals... I pay more but its ok I have water AND cilco on in my home and have been here for now 2 months rents paid and bills are handled.... I wouldnt recommend ideal rentals to no one.... Thanks for turning away money... Your business ethics wasnt very good... Love my new place and landlord is one of the best in Peoria area
I urge you NEVER to rent from Merle Huff. He is a despicable slum lord who will rob you and then throw a lawsuit at you after hes done robbing you for something that was broken before you moved in. Find a house off campus and drive if you are a bradley student. it will be 100 times cheaper and you wont have the headaches that i had to deal with. PS. not one of his houses is up to code, or has any type of insulation. So enjoy $400 heating bills in the winter and mold all over your basement. A few years ago they changed their name from CampusClubRentals, probably because they were so well know for being terrible at everything. Dont be fooled by the name change. Do not rent from them. YOU WILL REGRET IT.To Merle: We try to be fair to our tennants... Big Lie. You abuse young students who have no money to legally defend themselves and are living off student loans. Please, post any picture you want of the property i lived in. It wasnt cleaned before i moved in, it isnt up to code, and theres no way i could make it smell so completely of mold in the 8 months that i lived there. Why would I slam you for the way I left a house? that doesnt even make sense, stop lying. Im slamming you because I lived in a moldy dungeon for 8 months and you sued me for my ROOMMATES rent that HE didnt pay and a bunch of made up clean up fees, because lets face it, you didnt clean the place. Remember that time i called you for the 5th time about my heater not working when it was december? Why does it take you until DECEMBER to fix a heater that didnt work the first time it was turned on in OCTOBER? HEY! LETS TALK ABOUT HOW YOU NEVER RETURN SECURITY DEPOSITS UNLESS PEOPLE CALL AND HARASS YOU ABOUT IT. Please, hang yourself. I will never stop slamming you online, save you give back my 5k you stole from me. you are a slum lord and a despicable sub-human. I sincerely hope you get run over by a truck.
