I used Barnes to replace a unit in our rental condo. I was happy that they were able to accommodate a quick replacement need, but unfortunately the service tech that installed our new unit botched the job. They did not check the unit properly when they installed it, and the unit did not work for our guest checking in that day. I called Barnes OVER AND OVER that day and told them that the new unit was not cooling. They kept blowing me off and said it would take more time. After 4 hours of the unit not cooling, they FINALLY agreed to come back…but not until the next day. My guest had to bear 100 degree weather for that night because they refused to listen to me which cost me $1,500 in refunded rents, for what was a five minute fix for their tech the next day. COMPANY DOES NOT CARE. STAY AWAY.
Ive been using Barnes Heating and Air since I had my home built in 2003...now 2018. They installed my initial HVAC system and have done all of the repairs on it since then. I live near the water in the Florida Panhandle so my unit was extremely weathered with rust, pitting, etc. I started having normal A/C problems about 3 years ago and I would call Barnes each time. Theyd fix the problem every time without charging me an arm and a leg or selling items I didnt need. Finally this winter, my gas furnace bit the dust. It was time for a new HVAC. I called 4 different companies for quotes and Barnes won the bid. Their staff is wonderful! The workers, Kyle, Jeff, and Chris were delightful and very hard working! They worked from early in the morning until night to get the job done and with professional results! Oh my goodness!!! I wish I could post before and after photos here. Im a very hard to please customer but I am totally happy with them! Theyre under new ownership and management and I can see the difference as a result of customer satisfaction! Ive posted before and after pictures of my old and new unit.
Long story short, had problems out of our York system on several occasions after initial install in 2017. The technicians that showed up were Justin and Jeremy, they were thorough and transparent about the issues. We had a bit of lag time in acquiring parts not necessarily at fault of BARNES, but because parts for these systems are hard to find (because they are so new). Justin and Jeremy are incredibly kind, hardworking, and smart when it comes to figuring out what’s wrong with the unit. Barnes y’all have two really great employees in those men.
One of the best in Pensacola. They were here one day after calling and on the weekend. Kept me informed of parts status. Came back as soon as part arrived. Jeremy was great.
Of course my AC dies at the height of summer heat. The staff at Barnes were very helpful offering to come out at night and setup a temporary AC, I declined because I already had a portable unit. We went over the particulars the next morning and they had the best quote. They had me up and running with a new install the next day. The installation techs were exactly on time, removed the old system and installed the new one with my nest thermostat in about four hours! Danna the manager came by to check on the guys and make sure everything was going good. They are a very professional company, with attention to detail and cleaned up everything when finished. The AC is working great and I highly recommend this company!

Like any heating/air-conditioning business, BH&A is swamped with too much work and not enough hours in the day. My suggestion to the owners is to stop accepting or limiting new clients and focus on your current customers. Ive had a series of reschedules and no-shows because the techs are overwhelmed. That being said, they do good work. Unless BH&A wants to fall victim to the churn of dissatisfied current customers in favor of getting to new business they should determine what they want to be known for.
Missed 2 appointments and never called to rebook us. Finally got a technician out who said our AC unit was working great. Said our roof was leaking, causing water to fall under or AC unit onto the ceiling. Hired Commander Air as a second opinion. Found that the drain was plugged with debris and the pan was full of water. 30 minutes later, everything was fixed AND they added freon/blew out the unit.The absolute worst customer service. Will NEVER recommend them to anyone. Find a more reputable AC repair.
Called twice, waited twice. Its been awhile since a company wasted my time like this. Anyone can do better than this. Joe from the Walmart parking lot can do better than this. Absolutely useless, waste of time, not to mention the lady who answers the calls has the personality of cottage cheese.
They came out the same morning I called and replaced a faulty fan motor module under warranty. HVAC system now working as designed.

The owner was very rude. Put in a bad unit, never fixed it, and told us to go elsewhere for service.
Do not use... Zero Stars.......Stay away from this company........they left toxic material in our bedroom furniture, plantation shutters, etc. The did the soldering in our bedroom, developer was supposed to be supervising. We came home to ash all over and the smell of fumes. The A/C unit still doesnt work... The techs have no idea what they are doing. Do not buy an A/C unit from this company.. I had to ask one tech to leave my home after he had an attitude because I did not want him to fabricate sheet metal to a 8 month old A/C unit.

Very incompetent worker. I called for a service call and he decided to stay on his phone with personal calls then tried to tell me it was my fan or motor !! I called my son that was out of town and he told me to tell him to leave. He said yep your sons right its a $10.00 part but i have to charge you $285.00. I said please go away. I got it repaired two days later for $50.00 including service call.

Never showed up, waited all day! Was told a technician would be here no later than 11am, called numerous times and kept getting put off. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE and UNRELIABLE!

This company has got to have some of the most unintelligent people working for them not quite right and you dont even know how to drive their trucks they dont know the law about how to park trucks and they seem to believe they can just park their trucks blocking traffic dont care about other people do not use
