They lied about the service they were signing me up for (12MBPS - what year is it, ammirite?!?!)Then when I tried to cancel, you find very quickly that it is impossible. I waited on the phone for 40 minutes and the second I uttered the word cancel they hung up on me.Reported to BBB, stopped all payments on my credit card. Do not waste your time and money.

👎 for EarthLink customer service & business model. They do not do their own work or have technicians, they outsource thru other companies, like AT&T (for my service at least). So if you have issues or questions they do an amazingly terrible job at getting you help or answers. I am two months into my contract & they won’t let me out even tho this is probably the 3rd issue I’ve had since singing up and they are the middle man for everything. I’ve been on the phone for over 4hrs the last couple days trying to get my actual questions to AT&T answered. I watched the AT&T bucket truck work on the power line outside my house when I lost my internet. They assured me it was NOT possibly related and I needed a new modem...... today we find out that truck cut my line, just as I thought. So now I wait for another ticket to be created for another company to come fix the cut line. And zero has been done for my inconvenience, even tho I’ve lost hours of my time, left work/loss pay to be here (when they never came into the home), only to be told they will actually fix the issue I said was the problem in the first place! They are a middle man & either AT&T doesn’t mind screwing their customers or EarthLink can’t figure out how to communicate the real issues

While EarthLink appears to a great deal you will regret using their service.I used time off work to wait for on Thursday 4/30, I wasted 4 hours, called professionally to let them in the door only to find they werent coming that day. Glitches happen and thats fine. I got $35 for the day of work missed - which is much less than I lost from work- and moved on to the promise of 5/4. This was a 2 hour phone call.On 5/4 a CenturyLink tenure named Eric comes and says that he cannot do the internet connection because people were not present for him to get into the yards for wiring. He leaves and a 3 hour aggressive conversation with visits to the neighbors for verification produces people who were present and only a months refund. This is 2 days from work and a total of 5 hours on the phone. On 5/5 two installers, Eric and Leo come from CenturyLink to install. This is the day I decide to supervise these gentlemen-because I cant do my job without them doing theirs. The same one person is not home; my presence and supervision inspires inquiry to the other side of the pole. On their hours of pay and not my own we find a gated community. I call a random number and ask about finding the yard we need and gain access. Eric, the CenturyLink worker wants to quit and push the installation date further even though Im on the heels of getting in. They are able to connect the internet with help from another gentleman. Its an 8 hour job for all of them-including me. This is 12 hours of my persistence and 3 work days gone. The installer Eric notices an issue with the connection, fixes it once and says to call EarthLink if there is a problem.Low and behold there is another problem on 5/5. I call EarthLinks customer service in a 4 hour conversation today looking for more refunds or a quick fix. I find out that the month refund was not processed by supervisor Marcus and they have now been issued. I was promised an additional $20 off that did not come through as well. The soonest they can get someone in to install the internet is tomorrow between noon and seven pm. This is now 16 hours of correspondence with EarthLink and 5 work days lost as a result of their level of professionalism. It was not worth the $56.95 a month internet and $65 installation fee or the month free and half off installation. Dont waste your life.

I paid $70 on the 8th of april for services no one called me about installation until the 15th and then told me they could come until the 28th and the technician never even showed up at all. We had to cancel completely and go with a different provider this was a ridiculous waist of time

Stay away from Earthlink T1 and higher services, sales guy by the name of Travers Brandigan. Smooth talker but doesnt know what hes pricing or selling. Then proposal comes, examined the pricing, pricing was broken down-line items include items I didnt ask for. Called him to clarify the pricing, he informed me that pricing would be the same with or without. Asked why does Earthlink charge for items that I wont be using such as Equipment Maintenance coverage when I explicitly told him a the start before the proposal I would be supplying my own equipment and cover under the manufactures maintenance. Travers then tells me just wait another round to adjust the quote with revision of course with a bad-(you know what) attitude. Terrible sales, pricing and company. If Brandigan is misrepresenting Earthlink, then Earthlink should be let him go.

Oh. My. God.STAY AWAY!!!!STAY AWAY!!!!I have never seen anything like this.Called on Sept 28 to get internet access. They offered me 4G service, and I accepted. For $29.95 a month, I thought it was a great deal. The guy at the other end of the line got my address all wrong. Wrong number, wrong street, wrong ZIP code. I was out of town for a week, and when I got back home, the modem was *still not there.* So two weeks after shipment, I called to ask what happened. They figured out after three calls that it was the wrong address. They promised to send me one within two days.I received the 4G modem yesterday morning. I plugged it in at 1pm. My computer could connect to the modem, but the modem could not connect to the internet. Call a first time, at 2pm. They cant figure out the problem, ask that I call later. I call again at 4pm. We get disconnected. I call again at 5. They say theyll call me back at 7.Spent a total of over an hour with them on the phone, until a tech rep told me that he escalated the problem and that they would call me the next day.Three weeks later, today (Oct 19), I get a call. The guy realizes that *MY NEIGHBORHOOD DOES NOT HAVE ACCESS TO 4G.* He then tells me to call customer support. I do, and the guy takes *forever* to cancel my account, and after I voice my discontent on several occasions, still offers me another Earthlink service. After this debacle, I ask him whether he thinks I want to give *any money* to that horrible company... and he still offers me Earthlink internet... TWICE!I then make sure I wont be charged for the non-service I have received, and he says that they will refund me once they receive the modem. And that I have to *CALL THEM* so that they refund the monthly fee I paid as of October 6.I have to admit, I LOST IT. And almost promised to write the most horrendous review on Yelp. So here it is.STAY AWAY!!!!STAY AWAY!!!!
