Hmmm. I feel a little disappointed so far. I signed up in July anticipating the indoor opening to lock in a good price. The indoor opening was delayed so I paid for a couple months I did not use. I have been doing home workout programs since the pandemic, but wanted a close gym to also use since my 24hr location closed. I was hopeful seeing pictures of the other locations that Speakeasy would be nice when it opened inside. It finally did last week and I was underwhelmed. It is small and dark and looks like a warehouse gym. There is hardly any cardio equipment. I was looking for ellipticals and recumbent bikes. There is a row of treadmills, but they were dirty and sticky. I thought the equipment would at least look new. Everything is cramped and close together which makes me feel more uneasy during this time. It does not feel airy and open like it might be circulated and filtered properly. They also do not even pretend to enforce the indoor mask mandate. The employees and most of the patrons are not wearing them at all. I really dont know how I feel about coming here. There is also a dj who plays which could be cool, but keep that in mind if you want to listen to your own music or podcasts, you wont be able to hear it. The vibe seems fun, but I dont know if it suits my purposes. I hope that it gets spruced up more and that they get more equipment besides weights and racks. I was told there would be a cardio cinema room and stuff, I just dont even know where. The buildings seem so much smaller than they look from outside and you have to walk outside to get to the other building which is weird. So far I am not impressed. I hope it gets better because this gym is close.

I really enjoy coming to this gym. There is plenty of workout equipment and the place is spacious, specially with the inside opening up soon. The people nice and staff is pretty cool! Any time I’ve had any questions the staff member Oliver has been extremely helpful! I definitely recommend this gym!

Fully renewed and refreshed gym as of September 8! More squat racks recently added! This used to be a Golds Gym. SpeakEasy has been operating outdoors while renovations were being done inside the building. There is a cleaning lady that deserves a raise. She is constantly working cleaning the equipment, making sure paper towels/sanitizers are replenished, and constantly brooming and cleaning the floors. I dont usually see that at other gyms. Also, members here rerack their weights unlike some gyms that are a complete mess.

It is a great gym. The only thing I want to complain is the hours for weekends. As a family guy, I always work out in the morning, but it will be too late to start at 8:00 am during weekends. 7:00will be and ideal much better. And I don’t think I know the holiday hours either.

The staff is so great, makes you feel like pet of the family! Great music and awesome vibe! Great place for all levels, beginners to advanced. Whether you’re a powerlifter or a bodybuilder or just starting to workout, it’s a great place to be at!

Its a great gym with a ton of space in and outdoors. Oliver at the front desk in the mornings is a super cool dude.

Well when they first opened the prices were ridiculously, absurdly, annoyingly, dramatically high to be outside which was price gouging due to a pandemic. Now that they’ve came down substantially to a more respectably reasonably price I think it’s a good match. They clean always, staff is welcoming and the facilities are not packed with people. I give 3 stars, because I still cannot get over that 100+ dollar per month membership price in the midst of 2020s apocalypse to only be outside without any real amenities besides weights

Sketchy gym. STAY AWAYThey popped up in response to the covid crisis and are though the gym serves a purpose it is shady.Examples include: adding 39 dollar “yearly” fee after joining, and not mentioning it and hoping i wouldn’t notice.Trying to cancel is impossible. They don’t have a phone number only a text line. They don’t text back when you are cancelling the membership - so you have to go in person. And then they require a 14 day notification period to cancel - another way to squeeze money from you.UPDATE - they continued to charge me for multiple rounds after canceling. Chase bank told me they are doing this to MANY people to try to steal peoples money.STAY AWAY

Do not join this gym ! go here if you want your money stolen! I join speakeasy in DTLA location and they shut down on 8-27-21 they still charge me in the beginning of September.Although I never move my membership to a different location! I try contacting them but they ignore my emails.

My favorite location!! Love the outdoor patio workout area the lighting is so cute and they have lots of punching bags which is a huge plus!

Moved out of the area and was told they could wave the last month with proof of new address however they would only accept something from the DMV which has a 2 month wait list to get in due to COVID. Fine, whatever. My contract was ending the month after anyway. I had requested cancellation when my contract ended twice then followed up the day before April dues came (yesterday) to make sure they cancelled it. I was assured the membership was cancelled but I was charged again today.I had also sent in my mew DL with changed address shortly after the charge last month. It’s infuriating.

An exceptional workout experience.

I have been trying to cancel my month to month membership for over 2 months now. Ive emailed several times and never get a reply.Make sure to read your contract in details - there are hidden fees and the rates are constantly changing.

They dont have set pricing some people pay drastically less while other pay way more, not until you quit. then they have no problem accepting your sign up on the spot but charge you an additional month when your trying to cancel and have a 2 weeks processing period which makes no sense.

Clean. Well ventilated. Great customer service and everyone wipes down the equipment and just to make sure...theres staff that goes around cleaning
