My husband and I recently took our VW here to get serviced. This garage is wonderful. Everyone was very friendly and they broke down exactly what was going on with our car and gave us a fair price. The work done was excellent! We will be recommending this place to friends and family going forward.
Fantastic serviceIt is so hard to find an honest mechanic. These guys are beyond excellent. I was so impressed with how fast I got my estimate and the work that was done.I cannot thank them enough!I will be recommending them to my friends and family in the future.
Ive always disliked car repair, you either know someone or pay an unreasonable amount for things that arent needed. Challenger has changed my perception and I now have a place that I feel comfortable taking my car for any issues. I wont take my car anywhere else. They treated me with respect, communicated exactly what was needed, and made me feel comfortable about the whole process. I even got to use a loaner car to get to work. Thank you Challenger!!
I took it in there for a MD State Inspection. They were very thorough and found a cracked fog lamp lens, which caused the failure of the inspection. While not the end of the world, they also said the brakes were sticking on the rear side and causing excessive wear due to the vehicle had not been driven regularly. They immediately found the part, ordered it with my permission and when it comes in will put it in, do the brakes and reinspect. They said there would no charge for re-inspection. They gave me a great quote for brakes and installation of the new part. Kenny provided great customer service and their shuttle driver was outstanding. Not too many places outside of a dealer will provide a shuttle service.
If you want a mechanic you can trust look no further. Lauren, Jeff, Kenny and the rest of the Challenger Team will help you protect your family and your investment. They will also give you advice, we just purchased a used car and Jeff walked us through things to be on the lookout for. We also had them inspect it as soon as we got it home to make sure there werent any issues we needed to address. Thanks, Challenger!
This company saved me over $5k on my Tacoma that would have been spent at a bad service repair place. My transmission was acting up and I was told that I needed to replace the whole thing by another repair place. Sounded fishy so I wanted a second opinion so I tried Challenger Auto & Truck. From the beginning the customer service was way better than the other place. They offer a shuttle service which is rare for smaller companies. Jeff called me after taking a look at it and broke down ways to troubleshoot the problem, not just replacing the whole thing. He explained everything so I could understand and it made sense to me. He had it repaired and I feel he went over the top by triple checking my transmission before letting me have it back. They provided me with other items I should have looked at and repaired (I knew most of them already) and added it to my receipt. Again they were kind enough to pick me up - Cody was very friendly! Kenny reviewed everything with me and even did a follow up call to see how my truck was doing. I will not be going back to the other guys since they didnt take the time to really find the problem and didnt talk to me face to face about the issues found. Ill be taking all of my auto service needs to Jeff and his team. Feels good to find a mechanic I can really trust. Thanks so much Jeff & team!!
Challenger was reccomended to me by a trusted neighbor. Im so happy I took their advice. Ive owned vehicles for 30+ years and Ive never dealt with a more professional and friendly mechanic shop. They are reasoanbly priced and pleasant to deal with. They even left me a thank you note with candy in my car :). Dont hesitate to use this company. You will not regret it!
Amazing shop!! Cant say enough good things about Jeff, Kenny and the rest of Challenger Auto. They really do want you to feel like family. They stand behind their work and they have gained a customer for life. We will take all our vehicles here going forward.
I was recommending they did a great job at fair price a job well done no regrets
The folks at Challenger took great care of my F150. They replaced both exhaust manifolds and did the job right with great determination to get the old corroded bolts out of the block. Can’t say enough about this shop working late the night before Thanksgiving to get me back on the road. I will be bringing all of my vehicles to this shop! The shuttle service they offer when dropping off your vehicle is a huge plus too!
Kennys team did a box truck Maryland state inspection for us and I also had them check the fluids and computer system check. They were thorough, with quick turn around and are able to fix the minor issues they found. Kenny was super nice and I will definitely be recommending them and will be back! Thank you!
The owner Jeff and Service Manager Kenny absolutely went the extra mile when I hired them to do a series of complicated repairs on my car. Fighting through covid, shortages on parts, and delayed deliveries. Challenger kept up communication and customer service. I am extremely happy with the repairs and how my car performs now that Challenger has been under the hood. Next time your car or truck is acting up, take it to Challenger. Even if they are a little out of the way, its worth your time and money in the long run.
Love Challenger Auto, Jeff and his crew always go above and beyond for their customers. They definitely give me that old fashioned customer service and trust that has been lost throughout the years.
After my older brother, a Vietnam vet passed away last year I took ownership of his truck which I knew nothing about. I took the truck toChallenger. They took their time and explained everything that I neededdone to get the truck through inspection. I was more than pleased withtheir service. I will continue to use their service. Great people, great service.Thank you Challenger.
Challenger Auto has been servicing my vehicles for the last 7 years. They have always been very professional and courteous. They always give me a thorough explanation about the work they will perform and any problems they see as part of their routine checks of the entire vehicle. I know they are looking out for my best interest in the safety and longevity of my vehicles. I highly recommend them to everyone.
Good people keep his word too
Great People and Great ServiceJeff and Kenny were responsive and down to earth about a repair where we thought it would be a pricey starter issue and it turned out to be much more minor. They are honest people. I would recommend them for any service from in and out oil changes, to bigger repairs.
There staff is knowledgeable and use state of the art equipment. They have great accommodating hours as well as shuttle service to get you where you need to go while your vehicle is getting serviced.
Very courteous and professional...my car is working in my opinion better than before...
Fair prices and good service
Best service you can ask for!It is amazing how dependable we are on our transportation. We never think about it until it becomes unreliable. In our busy lives we don’t have time for unreliable transportation. The staff at Challenger Auto and Truck service recognizes this and does everything in their power to litigate the inconvenience of a misbehaving automobile. They pick up and drop off. They will even loan you a car. Let me tell you and save you time...If you have transportation that is unreliable and is need of repair, this place is the place to go. They educate you about your car, they will repair your car and they will put your car on a maintenance plan to keep it reliable. I’m beyond grateful for this well oiled operation!
This was my first experience using Challenger and I will recommend them from now on. They came to my rescue of my 12-year old car with integrity, honesty; and lots of time & patience showing me videos and parts of each problem that was corrected. I truly appreciated the pleasant public relation efforts of Kevin and Rose as well as Jeff during the entire process. Thank you for a trusting place to come back to.
Very helpful
I took my 2000 Dodge Dakota to Challenger recently to get my valve cover gaskets replaced, and I am very pleased with the work performed. I did not get to meet the owner, but the service manager (Kenny) did an excellent job explaining the work needed and also provided a very accurate estimate with no hidden surprises. He even helped me with getting my truck when the job was finished. I would highly recommend this shop for your auto repairs, as I will be back again for any future work that I need. Thanks and keep up the good work! Jerry M
These guys are really professional and did a great job on my Tesla windshield chip. The owner personally did the job and took extra care to make sure the repair was done right and barely noticeable. I would recommend Challenger to all of my State Farm customers for their windshield Repairs.
What can I say...... Challenger, from the owner to the staff are amazing. Not only as a business, but as human beings. They are my number 1 place to take my vehicles to if I cant fix it myself. I recently had an issue with a Re-manufacture company that was... well..... for lack of better words... trying to screw me around. Challenger was honest with me about everything and kept me informed on what I needed to be replaced on my vehicle, they even sent me pictures of the faulty parts and kept me informed on what they other company was doing. I feel truly blessed to have found this company, cause with everything Challenger had to deal with the other Reman company ...... other shops would have just given up on my Truck. Challenger Thank you. You have truly earned my business in more ways than one.
The staff was very friendly, the work was done in a good amount of time and efficient work, great customer service skills.
My problem was a vehicle that wouldnt start. It would turn over but not start. It was towed to Challenger on Friday (without an appointment), diagnosed on Tuesday. and returned to me on Wednesday. It wasnt an easy fix. The fuel pump inside of the gas tank had to be replaced. So, even though parts had to be acquired, it was a quick turn around. The price was commensurate with the amount of work and parts that were required. The vehicle was clean and they even left 2 lollipops. You will enjoy working with them.
Genuinely good honest shop, fair pricing. Quick turnaround time even though the shop is always bustling with activity. The owner Jeff and his “right hand man” will take great care of you and your repair needs while being reasonable and accommodating with the pricing. I will use them in the future, sending my family and friends there. Being ethical and honest goes a long way when it comes to auto repair and I trust these guys fully with any job I need done- big or small!
If I could give a higher review I definitely would. Jeff has been taking care of my vehicles since I moved to Maryland two years ago, and my Mother-in-law Jennys for longer than that. Not once have I ever had an issue with their service, speed, or customer service. Jeff has been very clear and honest every time we go in, making sure that we understand exactly what is needed to keep us on the road. On top of the fantastic service, I have received several coupons to further discount the tremendous work. If we werent planning on moving out of state, we would definitely keep visiting Challenger for any and all auto questions, concerns, and repairs. Keep up the great work Jeff and everyone else at the Challenger Family!
Outstanding service, great communication, quality work, they went the extra mile delivering the car when it was completed. I highly recommend Challenger.
Challenger were called upon by AAA to recover my car after a breakdown in the Giant car park. The driver, whose name I unfortunately did not get was very quick, competent, polite, and considerate of other vehicles in the car park. Excellent service.
What a fantastic service I received today! The owner and staff are amazing! Would totally recommend this company if you are looking for reliable, honest and excellent customer service.
These guys really extended a welcoming hand when I took my 2001 Ford E150 handicap van in for a MD inspection. They surveyed the whole van and found those areas needing repair to pass inspection. But they went further to give me an overall assessment of the vehicle condition. I certainly recommend their service and I have already been back for additional work.
Getting my car fixed at Challenger turned out to be an incredible experience and I’ll only ever get repairs done here in the future!! I had only ever taken my car to dealership repair shops in the past because I thought that was the only way that I could ensure a fair price and good service. Little did I know I had it completely wrong. After trying EVERY single different Honda dealership service department in the DMV area and being unhappy with the way they didn’t explain what the repair entailed, (for us non-car experts, because, lets be real, the large majority of people don’t know what the heck they’re talking about!) I was introduced to Challenger and couldn’t be more grateful. The owner Jeff made me feel like family and took the time to explain exactly what needed to be done (in layman’s terms! With analogies that a non-car person can understand!!). I even had my “car guy” significant other listen to his explanation and even he was extremely impressed with the care and service I got at Challenger. Instead of spending my money at a Honda dealership service department to make a rich dealer-owner even more rich, I’ve decided to take my business to this local, family-owned business that has given me the best auto service I’ve ever received and I’ll never look back!
Challenger is an excellent automotive shop. I have been bringing my cars to Challenger for at least 10 years. I can always rely on efficient, reliable work and a staff that is caring, helpful, and friendly. I never worry about the care of my automobiles. Jeff runs a top notch business!
The owner is fair and fast when it comes to fixing your vehicle. Ive brought my BMW here and was happy every time. Definitely what you need to make your car run perfectly!
Simply a first class company. Everyone made me feel like I was a part of their family from the moment I walked in until the moment I drove off. A+ experience all around!
Very smart team that looks out for people and bot their pockets.
Literally the greatest experience I’ve had at an auto shop in my entire life. Jeff and his team are knowledgeable and honest. When they made me aware of other things I needed to have done, they did so in an informative and non-salesy manner, which I really appreciate.I wish I was staying in town long enough to have them do everything they recommended! Will absolutely be returning next time I’m in the Maryland area and need ANY work done on my car. Top notch!!!Thank you Jeff and the rest of your crew!
Great costumer service, very professional
Ive had nothing but positive experiences with Challenger in the years I have been going there for service. The first vehicle that I took to Challenger was finally retired after 10 years and 200,000 miles, but I have no doubt that Jeff and his staff would have kept it going for much longer had I decided to keep the vehicle.I feel completely confident with the services that Challenger provides and I love that I can get a loaner car so that I dont have to arrange rides to and from the shop. The waiting area is clean and very comfortable. I always feel that Jeff and his staff appreciate my business and that I am a valued customer. In turn, I feel fortunate to have such a wonderful, competent local business where I know the owner and he knows me. I happily take my vehicle to Challenger and have no hesitation in recommending them.
These guys are the best. I am a single female of 52 years young, and have been looking for an a reliable/honest mechanic for long, long time. SO long, that I put off maintenance to my 2005 SUV due to rip-offs, sales pitches, and AT BEST, half-way repairs. I thank my mom for referring Challenger Auto & Truck Service to me - Jeff and his team are the best. Since I had a list of repairs that needed attention, Jeff took the time to create a plan, based on priorites. It allowed me to fix the urgent items first, budgeting each appointment, and they worked around MY schedule. On top of that, they ALWAYS provided me with either a loaner car, or a ride to/from home. For me and my mom, just knowing that if we break down, they are only a phone call away (24 hrs). As of today, I have been able to take care of ALL of the repairs, with no stress, or anxieties, even when I wait for oil changes after work (they have a relaxing, family-like-atmosphere waiting room - can anyone say THAT about their mechanic??). I cannot say enough about them - just give them a chance, and you will totally understand :)
Excellent service and very nice! I needed brakes and they were fast to have it installed. Amazing service. Recommend!
Jeff is honest and dependable on his work. But of late theyve been way too busy and need to expand to accommodate customers on a quicker basis.
Great service. Honest and dependable. We have been using Challenger Auto for 20 years, have never been disappointed.
Jeff, John and their team do a great job! Moved to the area two years ago and was fortunate to find a garage with highly competent and trustworthy service. I addition to their outstanding work they support their community, specifically focusing on our wounded warriors. Just an overall excellent and honorable community business!
Challenger Auto & Truck Service worked on our vehicle recently, this was our first time coming here, very pleased with them. They provide excellent service, explained everything very clearly and even had us come back in few days to make sure everything was running good. Highly recommend. Thank you, Challenger!
All I can say is wow. I was recommended to Challenger by a friend that road races his every day car for a four wheel alignment. I got amazing service, my technician worked with me to get as close to my specs as possible, and at the end I had a thank you letter in my car. I have honestly never experienced service like this and am floored. I will definitely be going back!
Honest, Informative, and Quality! I have been taking my SUVs to Challenger for the last 2 years. Jeff has been thorough in his diagnostics and his explanations on recommended repairs, and is very honest on things that can wait or are unnecessary. They stand by their work and follow up on repairs to make sure there are no further issues. Prices are more than fair. Customer for life!
Good shop but my vehicle has been there over a week and hasnt been touched
They took care of me years ago with my cavalier. Now, years later, I own a 2012 Chevy Camaro 2ss Convertible. I was told my brakes had two months left on them and my front tires were low. They put emphasis on my brakes so I felt they should be done fairly urgently. Im not ignorant. I may be female, but if I have the equipment and the means, I will do the work myself. I didnt have the money to pay for them to replace the brakes, so I ordered them online and replaced them myself. Imagine my surprise and anger when I discovered I didnt need brakes. The rotors didnt look great, but the brake pads still had 75% left on them. I couldve gone another year easy. I looked at the tires and discovered they are what shouldve been replaced urgently. Very worn on the inside and dry rotted. I did not know this because the damage couldnt been seen without the lift (damage is on the inside of the tires). But they didnt seem concerned about the tires, only the brakes. So I spent money I didnt really have on brakes I didnt need. Now I dont have the money to replace the tires. So I get to pray that my tires dont blow while I try to get the money to replace them. I believe they saw a young girl with a nice car and thought theyd make a little money.I dont have the equipment to do my tires, so I must take it to a shop. But it wont be theirs. They were very nice and cordial. I dont begrudge them that. But I cannot take my car back to them knowing they tried to get a lot of money out of me.
Great work, they are very professional and are very willing to work with people. I purchased a truck and 1,400 miles later the engine went up. The used dealership wasnt willing to help me but challenger absolutely helped me out anyway they could. Thank you guys, I wont get work done on my vehicles anywhere else because I trust challanger.
We take both of our vehicles here. Jeff and Phil are great to work with. They are honest and their pricing is good. They do great work and its done in a timely manner.
Everything was great. The only request I have is for a credit. I left my next visit coupon card in my cup holder with my lug nut remover but it didnt come off my bill not sure if discount should be $5 or $10 since my bill was over $100. Please let me know.
I was thoroughly impressed with the oil change and tire service I had on my Volkswagen Jetta last week. I was treated with respect, integrity and most importantly I was educated on aspects of my vehicle that I was unaware of. I love the idea of supporting local businesses and in this case this place met and exceeded all of my expectations. I will be a return customer!
I have a 2009 Jeep(standard) and a 2001 Chevy (automatic, diesel) and have taken both to Challenger . I have had fantastic experiences each and every time. My first exoerience was after hours and my vehicle had to be towed in. I had a bad experience with the tow truck driver and Jeff and another employee were waiting for me to arrive after they had already closed. I was very grateful they did because I was in a very vulnerable position. Challenger has been my shop ever since and I will never go anywhere else. They do a great job of diagnosing and repairing all the vehicles and everyone there is always in a good mood. If you have to have work done on a vehicle wouldnt you like to go somewhere they are happy to see you? Jeff and his family, which includes all employees, are honest and have never treated me with anything but the utmost respect. Challenger truck and Auto is #1 in Pasadena!
Our car was not running well. We took it in for an estimate. They charged us 320.00 for an ESTIMATE? Outragous! I spoke wth the manager about this .I paid him 100.00 for his ESTIMATE . I have never heard of such a practice . We will never set foot in that property again. There are plenty of other shops in the area. Very unsatisfied. Id never be a customer there.
My poor little Volvo broke down on I-97 near Challenger Auto Repair and AAA just happened to tow here...so glad they did! Jeff (the owner) was fantastic and patient on the phone with me explaining everything. Turns out - the car will cost more to repair than its worth, so Im not going to repair it - and Jeff still took the time with me. I will definitely be back to Challenger Auto and Truck Service!
Jeff and the people at his shop have the highest integrity in the service they provide when repairing your vehicle. They are not the cheapest, so if you are looking for that, you may want to compare prices.
I went here based on the positive reviews, but my review isnt going to be so positive. When you walk in the waiting room it was big clean and comfortable. Which was great. However when I approached the desk, there was a worker doing some paperwork. I stood in front of him silently for a good 2 mins waiting for him to finish. He finished writing, picked up the phone and made 2 phone calls with me still standing in front of him. He then hangs up and begins writing, he finally acknowledges me and says, give me a few mins..Finally... after he is done with everything I get a how can I help you. Long story short it was gonna be a few days before he could even look at my car.Everyone gets busy at their job, but in customer service, how about you at least greet the customer thats standing in front of you, and at least find out what he or she needs instead giving no acknowledgement at all.-Base at this experience only I wont be back.
The absolute best and most consistent service Ive had anywhere in many states. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure vehicle operation and safety. Thank you for all you do.
Highly recommend Challenger Auto & Truck Service.Quality, honesty, integrity, and fair prices.EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE!I recommend Challenger to all my friends and family.
Great experience every time! Very professional! Loaner cars or rides to worker a real plus!
Excellent Costumer Service, the owner take time to explain everything in details, no rush at all, from the moment you arrived everyone make you feel welcone, quality service. Glad my insurance recommend this place to me after a very bad experience with another company . Love the fact that is a family business ! Definitely I would recommend this place ! Excellent job !
The people there were friendly and helpful. But best of all punctual!
Challenger Auto & Truck is a high quality auto repair store that delivers exceptional service. The owners and employees care about your vehicle making this a great place to have your vehicle serviced.
Theyre an honest crew. Theyre maybe on the pricey side, but worth it
I would strongly recommend Challenger Auto to anyone who is looking for an honest and caring mechanic. Jeff, Phil and all of the guys have been nothing short of outstanding!! I have had my car into the shop a couple of times and they are always so quick to help and to get something scheduled and communicate very clearly what the problems are. They listen when you speak and I know that it is not this way at every mechanic shop so this is a BIG plus! Most recently I had a problem with the button that controls my window in my car, leaving my window down and Jeff had me bring it right in so he could take a look at it. Within 30 minutes (even though they were extremely busy) they had my window back up and an appointment to permanently fix it. I live in Pasadena and will not use anyone else!!
Jeff and the employees at Challenger Auto are outstanding, I very highly recommend Challenger Auto to anybody who want honest old time service.
Very Friendly, Professional, Helpful & Efficient! Comfortable & Clean Customer Area! A Pleasure!
They managed to come up with the solution on my car problem very fast. The are nice people who wont rip you off!
My experiences at this establishment have been as well as anyone could expect. They completed the work I asked for for the price they quoted. I have to chime in on some of these reviews; Ill begin with Sir Levin It would seem that besides not being able to proof read a single paragraph before posting it for the world to see, he also lacks the mechanical/automotive vocabulary to articulate his complaint in any way. He just babels away about only he knows what. He seems to fancy himself a mechanic and business expert as well, as he was kind enough to speculate as to why this shop is failing, saying the shop is shorthanded, so they must be short on cash also. Huh, interesting. Moving along. mastermind7802 Another idiotic rant made indecipherable by the authors piss poor writing skills. Over 11 grand spent and now youre complaining? Most individuals with an i.q. above plant life would have cut of the money at half that if they were not pleased with the work. Which makes me wonder, is he bitching about an estimate? an engine build? the price? Buyers remorse is not synonymous with bad workmanship. He does quote the law during his cryfest, so at least I got some free legal counsel out of the deal. Please dont base your decision on the testimonials of people with the intellect of a crackhead.
I took my truck there it would not start on wet days they said they thew water on it but could not find a problem. I took it to Weiland rieviera tire they found it start away cracked distributor cap
We used to take my wifes Camero and my Camry down Mountain Road all the time for service. You know the place by the car wash. Then the firm seemed to be doing unreasonable actions and not repairing our vehicles properly IMHO.This week my car had a dead battery. Had AAA tow the car to Stevens Auto Battery Warehouse. Great great guys, diagnosed battery issues only 11 volts vice 12 and dead cell. Gave me credit on the 3 year old battery, replaced and done in an hour. But battery was not only issue, all warning lights were on and would still not start.AAA again towed my car, this time to Challenger. They found five blown fuzes and checked the whole vehicle out. Did only the necessary repairs and made sure my car was safe on the road.IMHO the prior shop has/had a dangerous mechanic or more.IMHO Challenger is the best mechanical shop in the Pasadena area.
Great service, great work. Really friendly. Decent prices.
Great experience with them. Quick and quality work!! Everyone I spoke with was friendly and knowledgable, I will definitely recommend Challenger to friends and family!
I have been bringing both of my vehicles to Challenger Auto for around 3 years. My wife actually told me about the shop after she had a great experience there. Several things stand out about Challenger, but it all goes back to customer service. Jeff, the owner, is the only mechanic I have ever seen come around the counter with a piece of paper and a pen and draw a diagram explaining how your vehicle is supposed to work, how it is malfunctioning, and what needs to be done to fix it. They have never given me an inflated estimate. They have never added on extra stuff that seemed fishy, and they have consistently gone above and beyond with their repairs and service.Example: Last year my wifes power steering system started leaking. I am a pretty decent shade tree mechanic--I come from a family full of pro mechanics and they have taught me enough to figure out and fix a lot of problems on my own. So, I could see the leak was coming from a specialized piece of hose that needed replacing. I checked Auto Zone and the custom molded hose and steel tubing was like $120 which was waaaaay too much for a piece of rubber hose that is just pre-shaped in a certain way.I took it to Challenger, and Jeff actually said to me what I just wrote above: Thats way too much for a part like that. He actually fabricated the part for me and installed it! Its been good to go since then and he warrantied the work as well!I am active duty Military, so Service means something to me. Its obvious Challenger Auto understands what service means as well.I dont and wont take either of my vehicles anywhere else, even if they promise they can do the job cheaper or quicker. I like to be treated as though my business is important, and Challenger Auto does that every time.
The are so nice and were able to squeeze us in when we had an issue with our truck that was found during the state inspection! Definitely recommend and although I hope we dont have to, will definitely use them for future repairs
I took my car to this place for AC issue just last month and now I’m experiencing same issue.Think twice before taking your car to this place.
Polite people, but I definitely wont go back. Being in the military, I always have to find a new mechanic when I move, and it can be frustrating at times, but thats the life. Definitely run into those that like to take advantage of military and other non-locals. What I learned from this experience was to not just go to the first guy that pops up on Google. Anyways, after a day they told me my truck was next in line to be looked at. 24 hours later I called to inquire, and it was 3rd in line. I was told they made a mistake, but who knows for sure if it was accidental. Owner did apologize for the mixup and complete lack of communication, so I decided to give them another shot. Quote came out to around $500 for two ignition coils. Seemed high so I called several mechanic friends that arent local. In their words the estimate was criminally high, and they told me to run and never look back. I told Challenger not to do the work, so I took it to another guy the same day who did it in 20 minutes and charged me $100 ($80 for the coils, $20 for labor). That was less than Challengers diagnostic fee ($150). Basically I paid $150 for them to take 3 days to tell me the same thing I learned at Auto Zone for free in 30 seconds. Ill be spreading the word to everyone on Fort Meade, and make sure none of my fellow brothers and sisters in arms get taken advantage of by businesses such as these. Ive had some great mechanics in the past, so maybe my standards are too high, but I would recommend that people (esp military and other non locals) avoid this place.UPDATE following owners response: First off, Im not buying that the weather caused the delay with my truck. You told me it was next in line, and then 24 hours later told me it was third in line. Either you were initially lying, or there was some serious lack of communication between you, your staff, and myself. If you had just told me it would take longer because of the weather, I would have accepted it. And yes I know you diagnose deeper than Auto Zone, but the fact remains that I learned nothing more about my vehicle after taking it to you. I told you what the problem likely was (based on my hometown mechanics advice), and thats what it was, only it cost $150 for you to tell me, so what I said was not inaccurate. Also, Criminally High was not my assessment, it was the assessment of 3 different mechanics that I know. As I said, it was fixed for $100 by a different mechanic. I watched him. It took 15 or 20 minutes. The fact that you have 400 five star reviews is irrelevant to me, you dont need to brag about it. Maybe they did have great experiences. Im simply reporting my experience in my review, and if you find that disrespectful and hateful, then maybe do a better job at first impressions. Its really that simple. Im just warning others that theyll likely be grossly overcharged, and may have to wait longer than normal. I read a lot of those reviews, many people say you guys take a very long time, so thats no secret. Either way, Ill continue to tell people about my experience at your shop. I dont need my money back, I dont need an apology, Im just trying to help out people like me who are new to the area and looking for a mechanic. As for your support of the military, I once again can only go off of what I experience. When we report to a new base we get briefed about businesses to avoid, because it is well known that some places take advantage of military non-locals, and your place seems to fit that description based on my experience. This is the first time Ive ever written a negative review on a business, and I hope its also the last.
Jeff, Starts out as a very nice person. Then does not hold to his word including his posted advertisement, he is the only person operating the busness. I attempted to speak to someone else and could not. It is NOT family operated. Ive spent well over 11K and refused to give a written estimate after saying he would provide one. The list of poor workmanship is to long to list. My advise is the same as the first post Horriable. Please take the advise posted and do not go through what others have. Most wont take the time to report such rotten service. I will have to end up taking Jeff to court to correct his misunderstanding of how to tell a coustomer when he goes above 10% of the estimate ( by law ) and his misunderstanding of how to treat a coustomer when he replaces parts on a new engine build that are 27 ( oil sending unit that failed with in 200 miles and blame me ! ) years old that can destroy and new engine build, then blame me. Please I strongly advise not even to take your car/truck in for even a oil change. I have had to take the car back after over and over and I was not puting miles on it. Jeff had it for 7 months then tells me it needed more work and limit driving. Again, Please take these posts for real. I continue to have issues unreal and he refuses to man up and hand shakes of trust mean nothing to Jeff 9-1-17, I see this guy Jeff shaking hands with costomer in TV commercial. He does not and absolutely not make honest word of mouth agreements. If you watch TV shows about work and projects the owner shaking a hand is a form of understanding at most of all trust. What a shame, it my post I wrote he said he would replace my damaged motor. He did so many mistakes that cost me money. He attempted to use 305 Chevy injectors in a 350 cubic inch engine. He used the old oil pressure sender that was a 1986 and used it on a new engine. It failed and lost all oil pressure. Id brought the car back twice for the smell of engine oil smell and smoke after at a stop. He only used one bolt to hold the header flange for exhaust. Toms exhaust fixed that. The list goes on and on.
1. They tell you over the phone that a diagnostic is $50, then they charged me $98.2. It took about a week to get a diagnostic. No clue why they do appointments.3. According to them the car is fixed. The car kept doing the same thing.4. Took it back and no news for over a week. I called to find out and then told me the issue is not what they worked on. I dont even think they checked the car. I have to call to find out and then they came out with that excuse. Sorry, I am not stupid. It is doing the same thing. My opinion is they did a bad diagnostic at the beginning or really did not pay attention, took my money and now the excuse just to get rid of you. And I did not get my money back. Ill see what I can do about it. At least it wasnt thousands like the other review. One more thing. They look for other things to do in your car, be careful. They wrote in the diagnostic that the rack and pinion was leaking and it is not. I know it is not, I am mechanically inclined and work on my cars. They wrote other things as well but just to give you an example. Took it there because what I needed fixed does need special tools, and I am tight on time right now. But I am going to buy the tools and do it my self.I wish these reviews have been here earlier. Just FYI, My car was there about four weeks between the first and second visit for something that should have taken a couple of hrs. I think they are hurting for money, do not have enough personnel and are cutting corners. They may do well in routine stuff, however, when things get complicated you are basically on your own.An update for les4lifepaul. Readers listen to this person. Dont complain when things go south, and then say you were not advised through the reviews. And directly to les4lifepaul, I speak and write in three languages and hold a higher college degree. A college professor as well.True, English is not my first language and I tend to use sentence construction from my native language when I write. Commit more errors when mad too. But you should show me how it is done. I own 6 cars, three of them classics and do repairs on them unless I am tight on time, do not have the tools or want it done fast. So news for you, fixing cars is not rocket science, there are shop manuals easy to follow and youtube is taking business from mechanics for the reasons I presented above and more. People are not that stupid anymore, tired of crooked mechanics, doing their own repairs and have the right to their own opinions.I do not know why that affects you mentally to the point that you have to use insults. Is that your deal? Do you need to insult to make people listen to you? I do not see anyone insulting you here. Showing your higher education one would think. My opinion is that insulting people does a disservice to this business. Is this the kind of person the world should take the word for it? Your business should be to present your opinion. Perhaps this person is related to this business.BTW, got my car fixed. I would not have issues paying to get my car fixed. But doing a diagnostic, saying it was fixed, then taking the car back with the exact same issue (and the noise was worse) and telling me that is another thing. Sorry! I did not complained and took my car back because I was afraid the car would get worse in their hands. They call you back for a customer satisfaction survey I believe and I told the lady the situation. She suggested me to go get another opinion and come back but I did not. All I cared for is that my car was out of their hands. Now, go fire her if you are the so called owner. To the owner response and the other one that have to insult people to make his/her point. The issue was an incorrect bearing. I did not took it back simply because I dont trust this place. And to make it clear, I am not a mechanic but come from a family where there are few and know a thing or two. Most of the time I do my own repairs unless dont have time or the tools.
A place a trust to work on my vehicles
