All good about this gym but due to earlier close than usual, will have to leave this gym. I simply cannot make to gym sooner than 7pm. Life gym works until 11pm not sure why equinox does not extend the hours.

Huge variety of equipment, great atmosphere. It may not be the perfect gym for the typical gym-goer because it doesnt really have amenities but if you like a vintage feel to your gym and youre serious about lifting weights its the place to be.

I have been working out and going to gyms in NY and NJ for over 30 years. I do not agree with the lower ratings at all. For me, this Paramus Equinox location is a gym dream! I have belonged to all of the popular so called high-end gyms in both states and none of them even come close. I find that the instructors (read their profiles for yourself) are highly educated in how to train us. I have taken a different class every day since I joined. The staff, from those who maintain the cleanliness of the gym, to the front desk, sales and management are all outstanding. Furthermore, every single instructor has been extraordinary. I love the organization of the gym. One must sign up for a class in advance. This matters because at my last gym, if 55 people wanted to take a popular class, in they came, but there was literally no place to move (forget the safety factor). It is civilized and for spin class I do not have to come an hour earlier to get my bike because I reserved it on the APP! The trainer, Kelly, who I was introduced to for my orientation, was knowledgeable, sweet, caring and fantastic. Moreover, we get what we pay for-- if I were you, I would check the gym out for yourself.

This gym is $150 per month, but Ive seen gyms that are $30 a month that are larger and have more/better equipment... Its honestly insane how over priced this gym is. Even if it was half the price, it would STILL be over priced. You can literally go to 24 hour fitness, pay 1/3 the price, get a larger gym, more equipment, a basketball court, a pool, hot tub, and to top it off its 24 hours.... It doesnt make any sense honestly. Why would anyone pay $150 a month to come here when they could go to an even better gym and pay FAR less?

For me, this little shopping center, containing Equinox, is all about visiting the Paneras restaurant that is located here. Theres altogether 9 businesses in the center with Equinox the largest. Its on the northbound side of rt 17 directly across from Barnes and Noble. Parking is very precious, especially around lunch time. Go around back behind Equinox and parking is more plentiful.

Nice cycling class with Robby, nice gym and very clean. The only thing about this gym is their membership is too expensive, it doesnt have everything like the HUMC Fitness in Maywood but it is a very nice gym.

I used to belong to the amazing equinox in Dallas and loved their group fitness classes. I moved from Dallas to hoboken where there is no equinox. It’s been years since I was an equinox member. I was so excited to move to an area with an equinox... that was until I peeked at this locations sparse class schedule..Unfortunately, I won’t be joining equinox in Paramus because of it’s limited class offerings. Why are all the classes so early in the morning when I have to be at work? Why is the last class of the day at 6:30 pm when I’m still at work? Only METcON once a week??? This club does not cater to my fitness needs at all and thus I don’t be joining.

This gym isnt as hyped up as the price tag that comes with it. I agree with Brian, in all of the shower stalls there is mold growing on the shower heads and even where the soaps are held. There is even some type of substance inside of the Kiels products they provide. The caps of the lotion and soaps are always open and full of guck. The steam rooms are horrendous, theres white mold everywhere. The staff are always hawking you and making fun of you behind your back (I know first hand because I sat with a trainer and witnessed her make fun of someone). Its an uncomfortable environment and not as cracked up as the sales advisors make it up to be. The trainers are started with minimum wage and go up within time, most of them are newbies in the game, so why am I paying $150+ a session? You can get more of a professional trainer at Golds gym paying half the price. Let me not mention that the lady who sold me the membership has gotten fired (some of the workers told me it was due to fraudulent reasons) so I still havent gotten things she promised me (like money back for signing up). She lied and said I would be able to cancel within three months and management can’t help me at all. This gym is a joke and I honestly wouldnt recommend it to anyone, rich or poor. Your better off hiring a trainer and working out in your garage. Definitely NOT worth $161 a month, dont let the shiny floors and fake smiles fool you!

The parking is readily available and the club is convenient. The staff is friendly, But the group exercise classes are weak. Most weekdays There are no strength cardio classes between 6 AM - 9 AM. If you don’t like spinning or running there aren’t any options. There are very few strength training classes unless you want to take something before 6:30 AM.The caliber of the teachers is much better in the NYC clubs. The fire starter class has been updated ages ago, however this club is still doing an early version with very poor cueing. My final complaint is that members and even the instructor wears shoes in the yoga room. The floor of the group exercise room is usually dirty. Thankfully the bathroom/showers are clean. The amenities are up to equinox standards.

The screenshots attached are in opposite order, the last photo being from more of the beginning of our discussion with the first photo being after it was all said and done.Be very careful with this gym. They fibbed, and lied to me and charged me WITHOUT MY CONSENT.Jason the sales rep was selling me on a $150 membership and gave me a one day pass. I chose to run out after my day so I could think and not feel pressured to sign up for a gym 30 minutes away from me. During my initial visit I told Jason I need to think about it because it is a 2k commitment for the year because they ONLY offer 12 month contracts for the first year before it becomes month by month. Don’t let them fool you.He reaches out later that evening after my day pass and I will attach screenshots. Telling me it was the last day of the 50% off initiation fee (which is was but the very next day they were running a 100% back initiation fee promotion sooooo) and that he would actually wipe away the initiation fee totally. THEN tells me he can do a 6 month contract as that is what I was willing to commit. He calls me on the phone to get my card number and then says he’ll send me the contract and once it’s signed I’m all set. When he sent me the contract, I OF COURSE read it as everyone should. And it specifically said 12 MONTH commitment. Ways out of this contract were like death and moving really far away. JUST SAYING GUYS.I emailed him immediately after the contract was sent saying I CANNOT SIGN unless it is revised to reflect our prior conversation. They like to say things like “you have my word” “don’t worry about it” “trust me”. A contract is a contract. SO the next morning I have a charge for $172. So the membership was in fact NOT 150 but 170.So I contact Jason. I said I would like a credit back as I DID NOT SIGN or agree to the membership yet. He told me he will give me a 7 day pass to see if I like the gym.... AFTER I WAS CHARGED. When I refused the free 7 days, he told me I HAD 3 DAYS TO CANCEL THE CONTRACT WITHOUT FINANCIAL OBLIGATION.They signed the contract FOR ME. And giving me a 7 day pass was designed to trap me after the 3 day grace period as per the contract.I emailed John, the assistant GM and never heard back. I also contacted the equinox support email that has been posted in the reviews by the company and have not heard back also.Be very careful, and honestly. The gym isn’t even worth what they charge. The only upside is the higher dose sauna in the gym, but it is an additional 40-65$ to use each time anyway. That was the only major selling point for me.It’s a shame because I love spending money and am really easy to be sold in something I already want. But that’s slimy and they’re playing dirty.

Love the atmosphere at Equinox. The trainers and staff are all pleasant and knowledgeable and always willing to help/assist when you need it. You’ll never not receive a smile upon walking in the door. The club is always clean and surfaces sanitized. Theres an abundant variety of classes and all the equipment and machines you could possibly need. I genuinely anticipate my workout at Equinox Paramus each morning and my membership is worth every penny and then some.
