By far the worst experience ever. I went in for a dip powder. After 2 days my nails looked like they were a week old. The edges were rigged, the base near the cuticle was uneven and my cuticles got cut on two different nails while I was getting them done, it was painful and bleeding . I asked for a cheetah print, instead I got dots smeared and uneven splots, looked like a 4 year old did it, my 9 year old could have done a better job! I wish I would have posted this before I had them redone at a different place! So that I could have taken a pic at the night mare ! And they do not reimburse you!

My nails were messed up by mistake (the technician used regular police over gel acrylic) they called me within ten minutes ofLeaving and we’re able to rectify it at no additional charge. Very nice customer service.

I see Tina every 2-3 weeks for a dip manicure and a pedicure every other visit. She is AMAZING! I always struggled to find a a nail salon that I really felt was clean, comfortable and had employees that I could talk to as well as would listen to my requests - Nail Tech 9 has met all my expectations and more. I recommend this location to everyone. I was referred here by a friend and since I started here, I have never been disappointed. I’ve even referred my mother!They always find a way to fit you in, even if the appointment is last minute. They are truly great people and it’s a wonderful atmosphere. If I could rate higher than a 5, I would!

I have been coming here for at *least* a decade.Amy is a nails *magician* - she can repair fingernails, toenails like nothing ever broke! I have a tricky toenail that she is the only person I trust to work on it.This is the most reasonably priced, *best* kept Self-Care secret in Palatine!

I called 5 minutes before showing up and they were able to accommodate me and my daughter. I got a pedicure and dip manicure and I love how the color came out. The ladies are nice and the place is clean! Every time I go the service is prompt and professional :)

Went there for the first time to get a pedicure and ended up getting a mani/pedi done. The shop was clean and everyone was friendly. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is the manicure I got started chipping within a few days. Given I didnt get no chip but still a tad annoying.

Just got my nails done by Tina and she knocked it out of the park once again! I opted to do fun, multi-color nails and Tina more than happy to oblige. These are dips and I like that she makes sure they are not thick or bulky. These will stay on for weeks and I am loving the result!

Thorough work! I went in for a full set & my tech ensured every part was neatly groomed. And lets be honest, there are plenty of places that dont do that. But here, Im talking- cuticles trimmed with no excess glue or gel on top or underneath the nails! Nails look great & the ambiance was nice too. I totally recommend this spot.

I don’t recommend at all went there for second time in my life thinking the first time might have been a misfortune of luck .... the woman did my fill adding mountains to the middle of my nails..... I complained the owner “fixed” it shaving it down and redoing it but even after my redo all of my nails have dots under the polish I had never had to get my nails done twice and both badly ! The polish is pealing off on the side after a day ! Horrible waste of money!

I have been going to nail tech 9 for years with my mom and we never want to go anywhere else. They do such an amazing job and are very professional. They are very flexible when I call to make an appointment or if I just decide to walk in and get my nails done. Everyone is very friendly there and it’s a great environment. Tina always does my nails and she does an incredible job. If you need your nails done in palatine you need to go here! I have tried other nail places and it’s just not the same as nail tech 9. I highly recommend!!

The staff here is always nice and friendly! They are typically able to make time for walk ins, so that’s a plus. Not to mention they are very affordable! The one thing I’m not fond of is that I notice the same implements (nail files, buffers, etc) being used on multiple clients...kind of gross. I guess if you’re worried, try to bring your own files.

I like this place. They usually get me in without an appointment. It’s newly decorated and looks very attractive. The ladies that work here are fast and efficient. I’ve been coming here for a long time and will continue to do so.

I had a wonderful experience here! I’m actually from Arizona and was in visiting with a great friend of mine as well as family after graduation. The gal doing my nails took her time and did a great job. My nails were perfect and now I’m sad that I won’t be able to get them done here again until I’m back next summer! Owner is arrogant and rude. She would not honor a gift certificate that I had for $22. She told me to get the money from the previous owner. The gift certificate had Nail Tech 9 name all over it. One last thing they kept on NAGGING ME to do a pedicure which I can not do because of Medical reasons. They kept arguing with me even though I said DOCTORS ORDERS. They just want more money. Do yourself a favor go to another salon that is not so pushy.

I came in for some chrome nails and they didnt have them, they order the supplies. I got black matte color and I am super happy. I am exited to go back and get the chrome nails in a few days! They are friendly and very attentive. I will be coming back

This place is fantastic. It has the most reasonable prices of any nail salon I have been to! Amy is a nails magician (my own words.) People compliment me on my nails all the time. I get a French manicure over my acrylic nails and Amy always does a wonderful job. She airbrushes with a stencil so that each nail matches, and then reverses them so that my hands mirror each other. She has an eye for detail that I find important when it comes to my hands. I have sent several people to them, and they all thank me for the reference.That Brittany or Jared or whomever a few reviews down is ridiculous. Im sure that no one was trash talking them. If they feel that way any time someone speaks in a foreign language around them, that is totally their own insecurity showing.I adore this salon so much, that I very obviously feel upset when people write angry reviews laced with personal insecurities.

I just wanted to say for the time I lived in the palatine area I’ve only used nail tech 9 and have had the opportunity of having Amy or Tina do my nails, and every time I’ve gone my nails turn out incredibly and I always feel great about myself when I leave. Amy and Tina are so nice and accommodating that I always have a great feeling walking in and leaving. I would definitely recommend to anyone Amy or Tinathey are amazing at there craft and very gentle and sweet.

I’ve been a customer at Nail Tech 9 since 2000, Amy has been only the second person there to ever do my nails. She does the best job! Now that she’s the owner the atmosphere is so much better, I really enjoy going there and would find it hard to go somewhere else.

I have been going to Nail Tech 9 in Palatine on Dundee road for over 20 years. Amy has been doing my nails for 15 years. She finally is an entrepreneur! Her and her niece Tina now are the proud owners at Nail 9! I have tried other places, I have used other nail places on vacation. No one compares! So happy for Amy and Tina!

The best place to get your eyebrows done Ive moved from palatine but will drive over an hour to have my brows done the only place I go. They also do an excellent job on manicures( I dont ware acrylics or gels so I cant speak for that service) and do great pedicures. I would recommend making an appointment they do get extremely busy.

I have been there before and have not had a problem previously. I went there for a pedicure today by the owner of this shop. She cut my left big toe so bad that it was literally dripping blood. The dripping blood was so bad that blood dripped all over my shoe!!!! I won’t even show you how my toe looks!!!! hope I don’t get an infection from this moron!! AND SHE IS THE OWNER FOR GOODNESS SAKES!!!!! Just wanted to warn all about this shop! Please pass this on!!!!

The owner of the salon is wonderful! She speaks a bit broken English however her quality of work is exceptional. She​ is very busy between doing clients nails & answering the phone to make appointment however her quality of work is outstanding. Shes a perfectionist and makes sure you are happy with the job she has done. I have been a loyal customer since they opened 19 years ago and will continue to be even though I now have to travel quite a ways to get there from my home. She does the best eyebrow waxing Ive ever had. Other reviewers state that she is rude or disrespectful however I have never once in 19 years had her treat me with anything but courtesy. Due to the language & cultural barrier others may view her as being rude or disrespectful. Understanding & patience should be given to overcome these things. I highly recommend this shop.

DO NOT GO HERE! DO NOT GO HERE! I repeat, DO NOT GO HERE!I cannot begin to explain how RUDE the man that worked on me today was. I have been coming here for over a year and the two people(Henry and some other lady) who used to work on me always did a great job but they left and they have this new man in Henry’s place! OH MY DAYS!!! He is so rude, and as someone supposed to be doing customer service, he sucks.I went there yesterday to do acrylic nails and long story short, he did a terrible job, my nail bed looked HUGE and my fingers hurt so much at the side of my nails. I thought it would be gone by this morning and it wasn’t so I called and the owner who was really just shouting at me, asked me to come and have them taken off for free. So I did and THE SAME man did it. He was doing a rush job, he made me soak in whatever chemical that is, for over 45 minutes and that made my skin so ashy and it is currently peeling off, no amount of oil has fixed it yet! And he told me I’d have to pay to have my nails done again and I agreed but a few minutes later he came to me with “you have to pay first before I paint” I am not one to cause a scene so I handed him my card and paid. And he came to do my nails, he didn’t even cut my cuticles, he just applied the nail polish like it wasn’t his job! He didn’t want to listen to me. I was so mad!I was literally sitting there crying with my face down and he kept messing it up and insisting to fix it and just messing it up more!Good Lord I have never been so mad in my life.

$45 for a full set of acrylic and coffin shape nails.It was for my Goddaughters graduation and I thought it was alittle too pricey, plus the left ring finger was bumpy and she didnt even offer to fix it.I got to kill a cockroach that was crawling across their floor though!!! Was super excited to smash it and I told them HEY YALL GOT ROACHES HERE,they just looked and proceeded with their conversation....I even got my 16yr old nails repainted for $8, she did replace a nail that was falling off for free.

Awful! Just awful. I dont complain about nail jobs. If it looks bad I think: they do a better job than me..Not today! My nails look so bad and have no time to get them fixed!Plus I asked if my toes were dry enough to put on shoes.. most places actually check. I was told yes...but they were not. The employees arent that rude but they are definitely not friendly. Like others said if you could put a negative star on here I would.

Very clean nail salon if you come in the morning you can see lady wiping desks and sanitizing everything . They listen to you . Great manicure done by Henry lasts 3 weeks every time regular mani not no chip ! The owner is not old they are very polite not rude customer service is great. Way better than designs nails where they give you a lady who cant even file your nails properly.

I will never ever ci.e back here!!! My mother passed away, so I thought I would be proactive in getting my nails done and a pedicure to be presentable for my mother service. I arrived at the nail shop at 630pm. And I told the clerk, what services I wanted done..she said ol. I received a pedicure, but once I was done, I was told to come back the next day..because they wanted to go home. Mind you I waited for 2 hours!!!! Really!!! On top of all this I tried paying with a MC gift card my employer gave me ..and they said it declined. Call the merchant of the card and was told they are running the card for more than what I told them to do!! Now Im triple mad!! These greedy money hungry people...had me to wait..but not service me for what I came in for. And tried to sneakley run a merchant fee..after I told her it was only a certain amount on the card!! Why not tell me, we charge a merchant fee and I couldve paid it in cash.but to make think it was the card!! What poor service!!! Very poor!!! 05/31/2018

This place does good nails, but its sometimes hard to understand what theyre saying. They woman who did my nails was very talented! However, if youre getting a pedicure be warned- it may hurt a little bit!!

Just moved to the area and am trying to find a new nail place, gave this place a shot and didnt even get any services done due to being treated very poorly since I walked through the door. Very rude business.

Me and my daughter and friends go here to get our nails done. We love it here! We always see Kathy shes absolutely amazing and the prices are great. I live in elk grove and drive all the way here just so kathy can do my nails because I have to admit im very picky.

Nails turned out kind of cute lol. I could name a number of things wrong with how they turned out, but it would be a waste of money/time to re-do them. All of my nails are bumpy from the sides, lack paint on the sides as well, my cuticles were literally in pain in the end because my nail technician had made contact with all of them with the drill. My nail technician literally switched between me, and 2 other ladies even though I had made a reservation the day before. That caused it to take litetally 2 hours to do a full set of acrylic nails, which it should only be about 45-50 min.

The WORST nail salon in Palatine! The old lady/owner treats customers with absolutely no respect. Very dirty and unsanitary. They have a sign up in the salon that says they accept cash and credit cards only, but when you go to pay with a credit card, the owner yells at you in front of other customers that she doesnt accept credit cards. I dont speak Chinese, but knew she was trash talking about me to the other workers. I will never go to this salon again and I do not recommend it to any other individuals wanting to treat themselves to a relaxing/pampering 30 minutes at the nail salon. I dont think theyre fond of walk ins here. Also, my pedicure didnt last very long. Usually I can get 2 weeks in the summer before it starts to chip, but I only got a few days. Make an appointment!!
