We purchased a house at the end of 2019 and Gato came highly recommended as there were signs that a WDO was necessary. Inspection went well, they found some concerns but thats what theyre paid for.Fast forward a few months and we find a huge nest of ants in the wall. A call to Gato, an inspection, and we are set up for pest control. Nice and easy, as it should be.Derek comes out and not only takes the time to do a very thorough interior and exterior inspection but he actually educated us on all the different insect concerns, there were a lot to say the least. He then explains how he will take care of the issues and takes the time to verify we understand what will be done.Then, he calls a few days later to check on the progress and stops by again at a later date to complete any spot treatments needed. He even identified a snake that I took a picture of that was on my back porch.All of this could be summed up by saying that every interaction with every employee has been an above and beyond experience. Call Gato, you wont be disappointed, especially if Derek shows up at your door!

I have both their lawn service and pest control service. They are very professional and so nice. My lawn has never been greener and plush. No bug activity since theyve become my pest control and the few times Ive found a little activity, all I had to do was call and they had someone come out within a day or two to retreat at no additional cost. Ive recommended their services to anyone who asked. My friend had a pretty bad roach issue (the small ones) and since she started using them theres no longer a problem. She thanked me for recommending Gato Guard because nothing else she did worked.

ADDENDUM 09/16/2020 - We are thankful to say we have our company back from our other home. What Gato Lawn & Pest Control, Inc. was calling crab grass is Dove weed as pictured here and highly invasive. This can be treated successfully with the right chemicals. My hope in posting this it will help other consumers.This is my review from last week regarding our issues.There wasnt a proper term to explain What do you not like about this business. The proper term is lack of communication about lawn issues. They utilize a generic response after service on each invoice typed in as such -{Today I treated the lawn with liquid fertilizer( iron, manganese, potash) for color, growth and density. We also treated for lawn damaging and biting insects withinsecticide (bifen). In addition, weeds were treated to maintain uniformity with herbicide (pendulum) .Shrubs were also treated with granule fertilizer for healthy growth,diseases preventing and any other cultural problems we may have observed. Thank you for using Gato Guard and trusting us with all of your lawn and shrubs needs.)We started service in February of 2020 with great assurance from the initial associate our lawn needs will be met. In March we started working from home for obvious reasons. A knock on the door about issues would have been greatly appreciated. Yes, we put our trust in this company to care for our lawn so we can continue with work, caring for our child, home etc.Unfortunately our lawn looks worse and the side yards have an infestation of crab grass and dollar weed. It appears we may have to replace our lawn which is less than 3 years old. We are so sorry we did not pay closer attention to what was going on with our lawn. I work in a field where you must take responsibility and communicate with clients. Not once did the technician call us, knock on the door or tell us of these issues. We fully understand the use of a product to treat crab grass can no longer be used by companies since 2004 and we are aware it states this in the contract. However, there are pre and post immergents you can utilize and also agents to help boost your lawn growth. We may have been able to confine this issue is we knew about it. We did speak with the Operations Manager who explained to us all of the above pertaining to crab grass. How unfortunate to pay for a service and not receive quality of care.On a positive note the office staff is always very friendly and kind.
This company is horrible at treating anything, and say one thing on the phone and do another. The female manager is very unprofessional does not know how to speak to people!! was with them since March and im still having the same issues I had when I started!!! I advise if you want results to a bug problem DO NOT CALL THEM!!!
I couldn’t recommend this company less. The communication is terrible. I called several times to cancel my services as they were not responsive, and they stated “we don’t have record that you called”. They showed up and provided their service a few days ago without any warning, and stated that I had agreed to it back in July... but never answered my calls following this. They’re still billing me for the service provided, despite me being very clear that it was not wanted or needed.

I witnessed first hand that after the customer signs the service order, the annual cost is added back at the office. Why not at point of sale? Its (in my opinion) misrepresentation not to divulge the annual cost and truth. Customers should ask to have a copy of their signed contract emailed to them. If the numbers dont match; they did it to you. Also the only firm that makes you pay in advance. Why is that?
We have had Gato lawn service for the last 15 months on the 2nd service they had a new lawn technician that burnt our grass. They have been trying to fix it for the last 13 months with a seasoned technician along with Ray the manager after 15 months the lawn looks miserable at $168 per month. It is sad to pay for what we were supposed to receive the best service I had 2 phone calls with Ray he said let us see what we can do this month and you will have a free service I agreed. I get a call 4 days later telling me there is nothing he can do. 15 month later we end it up with a burnt lawn not one month we had a green lawn definitely not worth paying or getting their service. I never place reviews for anyone but this is very frustrating hope I can save another burnt lawn from their bad service.
I have worked with numerous members of Gato Guard and they have always provided incredible service. Great service and value. Have worked with them on various projects for pest control, rodent infestation, and Wood Destroying Organism inspections. Highly recommend!

I have been with this company since the end of 2016. Before Gato Guard a had another company called Heron and I wasnt satisfied with their services. In the other hand since GATO, my grass is always green, my shrubs looks healthier. Another thing about Gato Guard is the respectful employees always willing to help, do their best and answer questions. When ever you want a second opinion the managers come to your house. It makes you feel that they really care (loved Christian one of the managers).

Have had them about a year now and our lawn looks great. They also offer free retreatments between scheduled service which is a nice touch (no contracts either). Techs are always courteous and professional - highly recommend!

Update 2018:Had great bug service, however we added lawn service December of 2017 and after paying for our own new sod in March of 2018, it is already dead again even with paying bimonthly for service. Luis with Gato guard was very kind and sympathetic but after 3 months of dead grass and 2 months of making the effort to check up on what they are doing about the yard, it’s still dead and an eyesore for us all :/ The company confirmed chinch bugs were the culprit for killing the grass, something their contract states they replace with sod for if it dies on their watch. And yet, months later, we’re still looking at a very sorry lawn that is an embarrassment to us daily, and our neighbors, community and HOA :( I’m very disappointed as I had really enjoyed the company prior, but with the poor response, I can no longer recommend the company.2017:Have had nothing but the best bug service for 2 years now... highly recommend!
The company performed an inspection on my home before I purchased it. I was told that a few dead termites were llocated outside of the window but nothing to worry about because it was a season for swarming. Fast forward three months later after owning the home I now have to deal with a serious infestation in a room that was overlooked during the inspection. The severity of the infestation has been deemed problematic for at least a year or more. This should not have been overlooked.
Be very careful. They charge without consent and without calling or emails. They are rude and offensive.
This company doesnt need your business. They have so much business that they dont deem it necessary to return phone calls for new business. I left a message and never received a call back. A few days later I called again and was told that my information would be given to a technician and to expect a phone call. I never received a call back.
I have used Gato pest control for over a year now. There techs are very knowledgeable, there are there when you need them. I HIGHLY recommend you to use them.

This company should be rated 0 stars. I was referred to GatoGuard by the company that resodded my yard. My yard looked great for about 2 mos and then mushrooms started to grow in the back yard. I called the day after the monthly treatment and someon promptly returned and treated the back yard for fungus. Anyone with common sense would have treated the entire yard but not GatoGuard. Instead they tracked fungus from the back yard to the side and front lawn. When sections of the lawn started to die and the serviceman noted that it was dying from shade. The areas that died are located in FULL SUN!! When I called and asked Chris to come to my property, I was told everyone had a fungus problem. The only problem with that excuse was that no one else in my neighborhood had this problem. My yard continued to decline (including the new sod) and despite my calls not once did they attempt to honor their 100% guarantee and offer to resod. After several months I called and told them not to come back. They should have been embarrassed to put their sign on my lawn after a treatment because it looked so bad. I have since spent money on chemicals and sod to fix what they would not. I also just noticed that the shrubs they were supposed to be treating for insects are actually INFESTED with aphids! When I opened my credit card statement I found a charge from GatoGuard - problem is I never paid them by credit card except for the first payment, which means they took the credit card number I gave them when signing the contract and charged my account without my authorization.
