Had a nightmare of a time living here. The maintenance staff will enter your apartment completely unannounced whenever you make a maintenance request. For me, this was usually at about 8AM while I was still asleep. On top of being able to enter your apartment at any time without notice, the maintenance staff also has keys to your bedroom and will enter your BEDROOM on their own without ANY NOTICE. As a young girl who was living in a college apartment, the bar was set so low for me to have at least a minimum feeling of safety and security, something I never got at Northgate Lakes. On top of that, the chances they give you an attitude after walking in to your home with no warning are astronomically high. The closest we ever got to “advanced notice” was a note giving us a several day timeframe, during which maintenance might enter our apartment at any given time. This doesn’t even sound legal. The parking is horrible, the apartments are severely overpriced for what you’re actually getting. Please consider somewhere else
Wonderful apartment complex. Handsome young man at the front desk named Colton is always the most helpful for everything. Rest is Piece Izzy
Colton is awesome and my favorite CA! Northgate Lakes is a great complex:)
This is literally the worst apartment ever. They have mold in the bathrooms they even forced us to live through an entire apartment renovation. Keep in mind this is during a pandemic where they didn’t keep their masks on or even keep our front doors closed during all of their renovations. Now they are charging me 300 to replace the carpet when there was absolutely nothing wrong with the carpet. I lived here for two years and in two separate apartments they did not charge me for a carpet replacement the last time. And 300 to replace a 200sq ft room is obscured especially because they are most likely not even going to do it.
Colton price was an amazing help in my search for a new home
Management is terrible I have several friends who were evicted because of resentful roommates. Theyre not willing to resolve issues. Management lets entitled 20 year olds bully them into submission. Do not stay here management is incompetent.
I love living at Northgate Lakes! The staff is very accommodating and kind. The events are fun and community building. The rennovations done to my apartment are beautiful!
I lived there a few years ago. The complex was fine - very clean and convenient. Parking is a nightmare like most student housing, and they charge the same for all rooms even though each room is a SIGNIFICANTLY different size than the next, and you don’t get to pick your room if you don’t have roommates pre-selected.My biggest complaint was when I submitted a psychiatrist-approved ESA form and the manager (again, this was a few years ago) said “This means nothing to me. I don’t care. You can’t have pets.” I terminated my lease for other reasons and would only recommend this complex if you are a typical college student looking for a standard apartment. It’s not a bad complex overall, but parking, unfair pricing, and the ESA experience really soured my view.
The property is decent but the leasing office is horribly incompetent
Best place to live near campus!! People are super friendly and I love living here!
I love it here! the facilities are clean, the amenities are well kept and the staff is super friendly.
Northgate lakes has been a great place to live at my freshman year at UCF. The complex amenities are kept very clean and the maintenance staff is prompt and friendly. There are also so many great events hosted by NGL staff!
Its like drinking warm lemonade, its definitely not the best but it get the job done. Some of your CAs and maintenance men are elite tho, definitely deserve raises.
Northgate is great, been here for 3 years and signed again for the fall!
Ever since I moved here in august, it has been nothing but a headache. This apartment complex hires the most despicable people to renovate our rooms. They have no regard for personal privacy or our belongings as they work in our apartments. They also never adhere to the times they’re supposed to come in.I have had my front door left wide open and belongings blatantly thrown on the ground. I beg you not to give these people your money. It’s really not worth it, since there are a ton of other options in the area.
Nice copy + paste response Northgate
The business office doesnt return phone calls or answer emails if there is a problem. I phoned 3 times and left messages with a person at the front office and said the person would return my calls but I never received any call backs. Also, I sent two emails to a specific person in the business office and she never responded to either email. Bad business.
I’ve lived at Northgate for a little over a year now, and honestly had I known about what it was really like I wouldn’t have moved in. My biggest problem is with maintenance/staff. They have a complete disregard for privacy. I have found them in my room after just having showered, had them barging in while I was sleeping, I used to have a dog here and I’ve come home to find her out in the main space (after having locked my door), and the list continues to go on. As of right now they are renovating the apartments, which is great except for the fact that they almost never let us know when they’re coming!! They also leave cardboard boxes, plastic coverings and the like littered in the hallways. When I finally did get an email about getting the new furniture, it was already in my apartment. My roommates and I have tried bringing this up to the staff and we either got very aggressive responses in which they insisted that they are not invading our privacy, or they blew us off and did nothing about the problem. I don’t recommend living here or sending your children here if you value your privacy. Very disrespectful. I pay way too much rent money to be treated this way as a tenant.
Northgate Lakes has been an incredible first apartment experience. The office and maintenance staff are very friendly, always answer your questions right away, and make an effort to get to know their residents personally. Northgate feels like home, and the safety feeling cant be beaten. I am so happy my roommates and I decided to live here!!
Its been great, Im having a good time!!
Northgate lakes has been the best apartment complex I could ask for! The staff is so friendly and ready to help you with whatever you need and maintenance is always fixing problems extremely fast! I especially love all the extra events for residents like waffle Wednesday every other Wednesday. Another huge plus is that this place feels like home and I feel extremely safe living here. I would recommend this to anyone looking for student housing!!
Very cool
Very nice
I have loved my experience at Northgate Lakes. The staff is very friendly and the maintenance team always fixes issues in a timely manner! The staff hosts fun community events on a weekly basis which is really nice. I would definitely recommend this complex.
We have had a great experience with this community! My daughter and her friends moved into their apartment last August. The move in process was super easy. The staff did a great job on communicating what to expect on move in day so that everyone was prepared. And our apartment was clean!
This place rocks!
Great location. Safe. Access to busing to campus was important for our son. Clean and great amenities! Highly recommend and he will be staying next year! Reis in the leasing office is awesome too!
I LOVE NORTHGATE. Not only does it have all the extras you could ask for (a pool, a volleyball court, extensive guest parking, a dog park) but it also has a friendly staff that goes the extra mile to get to know their residents which makes the place feel more like home. I would recommend Northgate to any student looking to make the transition from an on campus dorm to an off campus apartment
I enjoy the location and the environment of this community!
I love living at Northgate! Not only is it spacious, clean, and have amazing amenities, but the staff is amazing! Everyone at Northgate is friendly and understanding, they truly want to ensure you’re 100% satisfied with your apartment & the complex itself. I’ve lived in other apartments around UCF and Northgate is by far the best!
A great location that is close to campus. I really like that it is a smaller community compared to others in that it is always peaceful and quiet. The staff are all nice and friendly and have always helped me with any problems that I had.
I lived here for 2 years. They made me live with mold growing along my entire wall beneath my bed for over 6 months. I constantly called to have them fix it and they did absolutely nothing. Even acted as if they never knew despite the numerous emails and maintenance requests clearly viewable in our online resident portal. Moving out has been exhausting, stressful and depressing. They have charged me and all my roommates for things such as leaving barstools in the kitchen that they swear aren’t theirs although they were there when we moved in. Amongst countless other random vengeful charges. Good luck.
Location: Really nice perk. I love being walking distance from campus. If i ever miss the shuttle or I just want some fresh air Ill just walk to class through the little wooded area across the street.Room: Im in a 4x4 right now and the space is pretty cozy. Furniture in our apartment is a bit dated (picture from their throwback to the 90s has the same desk, chairs, and kitchen appliances) but are still usable just dated. I know other rooms have more modern dressers and stuff so its a luck of the draw.Internet: Ethernet port is on the opposite side of the desk so make sure to get a long cord if you want a stable connection. Wifi is hit or miss currently the wifi is 15.6 Mbps down and 15 Mbps up which is better than what i usually get during fall/spring. There is a shared wifi here so be prepared to have people mess with your chromecast.Staff: Never had an issue with them. Repair guys are nice and the people at the office are very chill. It takes only like a day or two for work orders to be processed.Perks: Event here are cool like Waffle Wednesday and other events that provide food. The clubhouse also has free coffee, hot chocolate, and tea whenever you feel like it. Gym has your basic stuff. Nothing too intense so if you intend to really hit the weights I suggest going to the RWC.Bugs/other issues: Weve had a few roaches from time to time (which the staff took care) and some mold just keeps covering the toilet bowl no matter how much I clean it but besides that pretty alright.Overall: For $685 a month (plus $15 online fee) what youre getting is a pretty alright apartment thats about a 20 minute walk from the student union. Rooms are moderately sized with some dated furniture and some issues but the staff here will make an effort to fix whatever is wrong. Pic included is of the adorable ducks here.Edit: As of 7/27/18 there is construction going on outside to redo the outsides of the buildings. Large repair and construction projects usually only go on during breaks and summer when there are fewer people here. This project is pretty large and is taking longer than usual but its probably because of the constant rain this summer which requires them to stop often. It is a bit annoying but I mean when else are they gonna do it.
Beautiful grounds and quiet area with lots of amenities. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Pet friendly as well. Great location near school and restaurants.
I’ve just moved out last month. Don’t move in this apartment, my rent was $695 + ~$20 for online payment fee, which was approximately $715 each month but the room was small and walls were thin so anytime my friend or roommate’s friends ‘re coming, it was too disturbing. I got charged for a remaining TV stand which was brought by nobody. The exercise and study room is tiny. The sink was leaked and after calling the maintenance guys for 2-3 times, I gave up. They overpriced everything. When my lease was about end, they offered the price of $700ish for the same room which was funny. Have you ever known that a spacious room at Plaza on University, which is just across from UCF is only $800?
Northgate is Awesome! Everyone is super friendly and caring. Everything in the complex is clean and the apartments are clean when moved in. The workers truly care about you
Nice, quiet community that’s close to UCF main campus. There are always events to bring the community together and good amenities! If you have a complaint or work order, they’re usually resolved in a good amount of time.
It’s been real awesome!!
They have cool events and free food sometimes. 4x4 rooms are a nice size, and office staff is nice. Only complaints are lack of timeliness for maintenance issues, lack of sound-proofing, and not having good luck with the random roommates. The price also doesnt seem worth it but its Orlando/Oviedo.
My rent is $695 for a 4x2 apartment room. At a glance it’s a bit pricey but then I really think it’s worth. Even we only have $160 for electricity, we never have to pay any cent more for it so it’s like all utilities included. The atmosphere is quiet and parking lot is spacious. I like how the maintenance team eagerly works any time I submit a request for fixing. There are two things I don’t like are my sink keeps leaking after 2-3 time getting fixed and the walls are really thin so some nights I couldn’t sleep well due to noises from the upstairs apartment. Also the room is not spacious as shown, you really need to take tour before leasing.
Maintenance has a separate schedule, they ignore service requests during renovation period which is happening now. Do not inform until they just show up in the apartment.
We just renew our daughter’s lease. Amanda was great explaining in detail and answering all our questions. Conveniently located close to UCF, very quiet and friendly.
Overpriced for what it is, but you wont find other apartments nearby that are reasonably priced. When we moved it, the apartment was dirty. One of the more notable things was a half eaten lolly pop stuck to the carpet. Northgate held several meetings per month where you could win prizes or get some free food, which was nice, but i would have rather seen that money be set aside for upgrades in outdated appliances. The staff are great and friendly, and we got along well with the maintenance staff as well. Location is great for UCF students, and the shuttles were convenient for getting to class.I give Northgate lakes a 1 star review because of how dirty the apartment was when we moved in, how dated all of the appliances were, the high cost (between my 3 roommates and I, we spend about 3k a month on rent), the utility bills every month (everyone was allotted 45$ per month but we went over almost every time), the handling of the covid pandemic, and the cleaning fees after we moved out.For the amount of money we payed a month, we could have had a 4/4 house with a pool in the local area and would have saved money. My advice for future students of ucf is to rent a house with some friends, or if fiscally possible BUY a house. After a small downpayment on a $250K house, the mortgage every month would be considerably less than the rent at any of the nearby apartments. after your 4 years at UCF, youll be able to either sell the house for your money back or even a profit, and would have saved your money from all of those years of rent. Between my roommates and I, we spent over 70k on rent over our 4 years at UCF.My advice for Northgate would be to lower spending on community growth activities and decrease rent. By the time we left, the appliances had just been updated for future students. I would have loved NG to deep clean every apartment after every tenant leaves, regardless of the condition its in when its left. I feel cheated that i left the apartment in better condition than i found it and was still charged for cleaning.
Our daughter loves Northgate. Easy access to campus, shopping, and stadium. Great pool and volleyball court.
This is my first year here at Northgate Lakes, and I recently renewed my lease for the upcoming 2020/21 year! Its it a pretty small-knit and quiet community, which I definitely enjoy. The amenities such as the clubhouse and pool area are also very nice and clean. Distance to UCF campus is also a plus :)
Beautiful spacious apartments, with great amenities. Helpful staff, especially Chris C. He was knowledgeable and patient. I would definitely recommended!
Something to note about a lot of reviews on here - Northgate does community events and provide incentives for reviews (i.e. a mug or other useful items). Take what you read here with a grain of salt, as many of the reviewers just left reviews to get free stuff and havent shared their actual opinionsGenerally pretty good. Internet is good, maintenance is good. The rent is a little more expensive than other nearby complexes but the proximity to campus and free coffee make it worth it. The new appliances are fantastic, but theres not much cabinet space in the B-style 4x2s after the renovations.Staff never give you more than a days notice when notifying residents about routine maintenance. This really sucks if you have interviews, exams, or anything else you need a quiet space for. In Fall 2020 the staff decided to do very loud renovations during finals week.
Pros:-close to campus-quiet neighborhood-some amenities-nice staffCONS:-walls are extremely thin-apartment was dingy and outdated with stained carpets and a dishwasher that kept breaking down-I didnt stay in the apartment during the last few months of my lease, yet I was charged a utility overage despite only having 2 roommates living there in a 4x4. I was also charged an additional $100 fee because I moved out before my roommate and she left her belongings behind.-I had black mold in my bathroom (sink, toilet, bathtub) despite cleaning regularly. I called maintenance about it - they tightened the sink and just told me to clean better??Overall, I had a bad time and wouldnt recommend this complex. Its also overpriced for what you get
My son has lived in these off campus apartments for the past few years and I think we are both happy he found them! We live out of state so he spent his first few semesters on campus. As an upperclassmen he wanted to go off campus. Now that hes found this complex, I think he has more of a sense of community. Since hes gotten to know the residents so well, hes even joined them playing sports on weekends. Between the pool and the creative/fun monthly events that are planned, I almost wish I lived there! Hes so close to campus, we walked to the Homecoming game. No parking or traffic nightmares living so close to school. I was also surprised to see they have a dog park which is well kept. That is a nice benefit for those pet loving residents that might have a hard time finding an apartment that accepted pets. Id say the residents get a lot at a very affordable rate.
Northgate is a great place and it’s super close to campus !! The pool and gym are always up to date and clean! Also they have the best events !
Great place small rooms
Northgate Lakes is a quiet, clean place to live! I was nervous about doing roommate matching at first, but my preferences were taken into account, and I had a great experience!
Northgate IS the best apartment complex in Orlando! The staff is so wonderful and extremely nice/caring. They help you with anything you need and host monthly events that give away free food. Everything about Northgate is perfect. The maintenance crew always knocks and makes friendly conversation when repairing issues and they are very timely at doing so.
I lived at Northgate for the last 2 years and my experience has overall been positive, with a few exceptions. Ill start with the pros:- Location - if youre like me and dont drive, the proximity to UCF and the shuttles is really nice. Fairly close to Publix and a neighborhood Walmart, too.- Amenities - Ive really enjoyed the amenities here. The cyber café, the pools, and the clubhouse are quite nice, though I think the pool in the back could be better kept up (theres trees hanging over the deck and that causes a lot of debris). Sometimes the printer in the café doesn’t work, but Ive just asked the front office if they can print whatever I need and they help me out. Obviously I havent been able to use the amenities nearly as much since COVID hit, but I enjoyed them for the rest of my time here. Same goes for events, the free food and camaraderie is great for any college student. They also do giveaways every now and then with gift cards and other prizes. I won a gift card and they threw in an extra couple bucks.- Staff - the front office and general staff have been, for the most part, really pleasant and helpful! They worked with me despite me not having a credit history or guarantor, which is hard to find in the area. Caitlyn especially has been really kind and understanding.- Internet - the first year I was here the internet was a little iffy, but since they upgraded to Pavlov its really fast and hardly ever has issues.- The lake is also just really pretty, I have a view of it from my current apartment and I love seeing the ducks and turtles walking around. Now for the cons:- The rent is a lot, I lived in a 4x4 and paid $715/month for my room, and thats a discounted rate. The rent is going up even more for the 2020-2021 school year. Its still one of the cheapest options Ive found for apartments in the UCF area, but I personally dont think its worth paying that much and if I had the option, I would have rented a place further away from campus for cheaper. Still, its the Orlando area and cheap rent is hard to come by.- With that being said, they are making some improvements to the apartments. We just had new furniture delivered, for example. They even let me take the old couch and tables for my new place with no charge, which is pretty awesome.- The apartments need some touching up. Ive lived in two separate units here and while theyre certainly in liveable and comfortable condition, I feel that more needs to be done to justify the rent price hike. Walls need to be painted, cracks in the walls need to be taken care of, counters are scratched up and that cheapens the look of the place, in my old unit we constantly had issues with the washer/dryer not working (though we havent had issues with it in my current unit). Some of the furniture/bathroom fixtures are clearly worn out and need to be replaced. The bedroom window in my last unit was facing the outside hallway and I got no natural lighting…. The window in my current place faces the lake and is much better, but with all the rain lately its begun to leak in small amounts of water. The air conditioner leaked water into my room (but maintenance did fix this relatively quickly). Minor mold issues, havent seen too many bugs (every now and then you get one, but I personally expect this, living in Florida). Overall its been decent, but I think for the price they are charging they should be improved.- Maintenance has overall been okay but the last couple of times theyve come to my apartment, they have not knocked. Im not sure if this is due to COVID but its pretty startling to be sitting in your apartment and suddenly theres people walking around with flashlights in hand. There was also an incident where maintenance was pressure washing the sidewalks and some water got into my apartment, when we let them know they came in and wiped it up with raggedly old cloths, while barefoot. Not a huge deal, was just odd.Overall, I would recommend Northgate to anyone who needs a place close to UCF that is also pet-friendly!
Northgate Lakes is wonderful! The community is fun, close to campus, and just in general a great place to live. The community assistants are friendly, helpful, and throw awesome events for the residents. The maintenance team is also incredibly helpful and are always able to fix any problems you may have in the apartment. Ive lived here for over a year now and would recommend the community to anyone looking for an apartment to move in to.
This place is standard university housing as far as quality of the room, but the employees, including the community assistants, can’t be beat. They have been extremely friendly the entire time I’ve lived there, and they’ve always made sure to provide a high standard of service. If it wasn’t for the difficulties of my current living situation, I’d definitely think about riding out all of my college years there.Update: nevermind. Not that great if you have a car. Imo it’s better to drive a little and not pay so much for a tiny, gross place.
It’s a great first apartment, especially for a UCF student. It’s so close I can walk to class, it’s fairly priced, got lots of different events that are free and fun throughout the year, and the staff is top notch.
I lived at Northgate for two years in a 4/4, then a 3/3; the rooms are very spacious! The events are fun and there is always food. While I lived there I met an amazing group of friends that were the cherry on top of my stay. Northgate has a great staff and maintenance team who are always working on any issues.
Photos were taken on move in dayPros:-location to UCF and groceries-shuttles-Great pool/amenities, cleanCons:- very overpriced for what you get. Anything with a shuttle to campus will be a horrible price compared to something 10 min drive away- apartments in bad condition-overcharged for upgraded units. These type of upgrades should be a part of regular upkeep for apartments- weird problems like no being able to get a spare key, would never happen outside of student marketed apartments- high pet rent and fees- hundreds of dollars for apartment transfer fees. Ive never known an appartment complex to charge for you to move between unitsI live here because the shuttles and location are a necessity for me but I wish I had better options. I write this review while laying awake because of obnoxious neighbors screaming for the last 2 hours. Walls are thin and noise complaints do nothing. When we first moved in, there were huge patches of black mold growing across the ceiling. Apartment was absolutely disgusting and many many things were broken/in bad condition. Giant pot burn marks on counters, ugly molds of all colors inside the windows, the list goes on and on. The maintenance workers are friendly and wonderful, they helped a lot getting things in order when moving in. Glad theyre so great since they were around a lot to address the problems there upon move in. They quickly responded to the mold issues, bringing in a team of professionals to vent it out. But this should never have been here upon move in. Staff seemed to be very unorganized. I had large unsightly holes in my bedroom window screens and would ask the office every month for a replacement, and they just said they hadnt ordered any. The neighborhood has events like free waffles and raffles with TVs and Nintendo Switches, but has crazy high rent for what the units are. Just ditch the stupid frills that most people cant take advantage of anyways and stop increasing rent.
Lets see what Northgate Lakes does when rent comes due during the Covid 19 pandemic. You will really get to see what they think of their residents. Hopefully they are taking it case by case, doing payment plans, and allowing early lease terminations..
I absolutely love this place! The staff is very welcoming and friendly and if I ever need help with anything they are there to help me with anything I need! They are super nice and I would recommend this place to everybody!
I’ve lived here for about two years now and I can’t say I have that many complaints. The staff is very friendly, the events in the clubhouse are fun, and the overall area is a great place for any college kid to live in. I’ve lived in two separate apartments. My first year I was in an older 4 bedroom unit but it was still very nice. My only complaint was the appliances being kinda old, but now I’m in an upgraded 3 bedroom unit with all new appliances so that is nice. Overall a great place to live at not a terribly high price!
This place does not have constant wifi problems. Has more bang per buck than other apartments around UCF campus. Not cheap but also not as expensive as some other off campus housing sites
I’ve only been here for a few month and I’ve been enjoying living here for the time being. The staffs here are super friendly. If you have any type of problem they will do there best to get it solved, also they have tons of events that have free food and if you are on a budget or to lazy to make food they got you covered.
The apartments look okay on the outside. On the inside is a different story, you have the possibility of getting an outdated apartment with an 100 year old couch, a stove so old it doesnt have a timer, a toilet that screeches when you flush it, and a front door full of cracks that lets bugs in. Want to cool down at the pool on a SUMMER night? Nope. The pool closes at 9pm, regardless if its a weekend or not. Dont waste your money here.
There was a Relay for Life car wash event with pizza, and Sean, Emily, and Chris did a great job washing my car! They didnt miss a spot!
NGL has the perfect location because it is so close to UCF and Publix. The apartments are also nice on the inside and come fully furnished. The apartments are getting completely redone as of Fall 2020 with new couches, new floors, new tables, and new appliances. Ive enjoyed living here, because of the pools, the dog park, and the staff. Ive never had an issue they werent willing to help me with. After 3 years i have to leave only because the smallest apartment they offer is a 3x2, otherwise, Id stay as long as I could.
Northgate lakes is the best apartment complex I’ve ever stayed at. The amenities are perfect and there’s never a dull moment when it comes to activities to do with the staff. They always come up with fun things to do for the residents it’s just amazing.
Very nice location and theres a shuttle. My apartment is nice and they placed me with the roommates (my friends), that I requested. I have already renewed for next year and will be leaving after that, but only because I will be graduating and leaving. Love it here! Im going to be calling soon to inquire about the pet policy, because I love living here and will be adding a furry friend to enjoy living here too! :) Definitely recommending this place to other people!
I honesty love it here, this is a great place to live. Every single issues has been fixed in under day. The staff is amazing. I feel super safe as a woman walking around the complex at night. I have no complaints about this place at all.
I lived at Northgate for two years and I would highly recommend it to anyone that wants to have a great college experience without living on campus. There are tons of events that you can go and get free food or meet people. The maintenance team is exceptional great and makes sure that everything is always working. If i every had a problem they were able to fix it right away. The staff is also another plus. They are always willing to help and are super friendly!
Our daughter has been living here for two years and we have been very happy. Chose it for the location and the shuttle to campus. Staff has always been quick, responsive and very friendly. Love the new updates and improvements.
Quiet, boring, bug infested, and the staff has no idea what they are doing. Only great thing was how close it was to campus and grocery stores. Cant count how many complaints Ive heard everytime I went in their office from other residents. The construction went on for the ENTIRE duration of my stay there. Waking up at 7am to an earthquake from construction and it ending at 8pm doesnt help when you want to sleep. The lounge is so small, if a resident you dont know walks in there, they immediately get out because of how awkward it is. The pool is a joke and its rare you ever see anyone in it. The GIANT fire ants (possibly termites) crawls everywhere. The walls, the floor, the couches, EVERYWHERE! Silverfish and tiny spiders everywhere you turn. Even got in my clothes! Got even worse after construction. (Keep in mind Im extremely clean & organized). Roommate matching is bs. Talked to multiple residents who all have the same complaints. Doesnt help our upstairs neighbor left a sink running and flooded our apartment. Had to have huge machines running 24/7 for days then was charged an overage (after I complained they got rid of it). Could probably write a book about this place. Glad Im no longer there anymore.
Been living here for two years and I love it!! Everything about it is nice and I love the staff! Caitlin was a wonderful helper and did an amazing job on our tour! :) I lived in another student housing apartment complex before Northgate, and it was terrible! Everything about it was horrible, but Northgate is honestly awesome!
Northgate lakes is a great place to live. They are close to campus, which is super convenient, the people and staff are very friendly, yet unobtrusive, and the amenities are all put to good use by the residents, which means less wasted money and lower rent. I would like to see all of the units partially upgraded though because the stove and microwave are very bare bones.
As a first year college student I couldn’t have picked a better place. Awesome friendly staff and the events always keep the social life here a lot of fun!
My son will be moving in this August and the office staff, especially Alex, has been wonderful and very easy to work with. She responds to my emails immediately and is very friendly and professional. So far, I am very happy that my son chose to live there.
Northgate Lakes is such a nice place to live! Everything here is so well taken care of and every member of the staff, that Ive had the pleasure of meeting, has been so kind and helpful. Also, the proximity to campus is my absolute favorite.
Its a pretty nice place to live. Home-y, quite, nature vibe. A little old, but all appliances and furniture are well kept.
I absolutely love living here at Northgate Lakes. The amenities are amazing, from two swimming pools to a movie theater there is always something going on. The staff in the office is also incredible and do everything they can to help you. I am definitely considering renewing for next year.
This place is great for a college experience. Its basically on campus, I ride my bike to class and get there in less than 15 minutes anywhere at UCF. Hopefully these bad reviews drive other people away and the rent prices go down, that would be cool. This is my 3rd year here and Ive enjoyed it
Northgate Lakes is not worth the price! The only redeeming quality this complex has is its location being next to UCF and close to shops/restaurants. Construction is finally done throughout the complex but there are other issues. I’ve lived in two different apts within the complex and both had bugs despite the claim they have pest control. The Wi-Fi is spotty and I had to use my mobile hotspot frequently. Every time I went to their lounge to use the free printing the printer was always down forcing me to wait until office hours to have documents printed. The lease runs from middle August to end of July meaning there is a two-week gap in the lease, and you have to pay extra to live in your apt the two weeks if you plan on living there the following year. There was also a situation where people were throwing trash into our patio. As soon as it happened, I went to the office to ask if there was anything they could do, the CA said she would speak to her manager but I never got a follow up response. When the office was notified of the trash by maintenance the manger emailed me back a little rudely saying I should have come in as soon as it happened (which again, I had). Eventually the problem was resolved but apparently, they have miscommunications within their staff. If you can avoid leasing here, do so, the bad reviews don’t lie.
Location is great for students. Would have posted much higher review. They certainly nickel and dime you with fees that they like to slip in. Granted Its in the lease but a bit sneaky which doesnt make you feel warm and fuzzy.
My daughter lives there. It is a very nice and safe place and is close to the university. Has a lot activites and events for the students to be able to socialize.
Great community and very safe. The staff is pretty great. However, the maintenance team isn’t that good!
👍
The community really makes me feel at home. Everybody is very friendly. I love all the events that NorthGate has, because it is a great way to meet other people in the community.
Shouldn’t even give this place one star. The maintenance guys are absolutely horrible people and extremely rude and disrespectful to residents. They come into your apartment with no warning and will aruge and harass you inside your own home. This place will also charge you for everything they possibly can. They spent months doing construction on the property that took up parking spots. Not to mention the spots already taken up by the stupid shipping containers. If your car is parked somewhere that is an inconvenience to them or the constellations worker they will just tow it even if you’re allowed to park there. The apartment itself was dirty upon move it, the bathrooms had mold in them and hair and finger nails were found all over the carpets. Find somewhere else to live and only live here if it’s a last resort because they almost always have rooms available since people constantly move out and no one really wants to live here. Also, fire those maintenance guys.
Sokay. Good community activities. High rent and high pet fees. Occasional trouble with getting maintenance requests processed (though the maintenance staff themselves are pretty good),
I love the location. You dont get the traffic of Alafaya at all. You can easily tailgate at memory mall since its so close. Very relaxing vibe to the entire complex. Going to renew here.
I strongly recommend that you DO NOT decide to live here. Since the first day I moved in there has been nothing but problems. From mold and unclean living circumstances, to the loud and obnoxious construction that has been ongoing for a year, this is a terrible place to live. There also has been no wifi for the past month (currently writing this review from a Starbucks)! If you are looking for a clean, quiet, place to live with friendly staff, this is the last place to look.
Living here for almost a year, everything is OK. EXCEPT FOR THE MAINTANCE.If you live here, some day, you will get: Hey, we need to replace your flooring. Remove all your stuff on your table and floor, or. see Pic 1 . Guess what, those stuffs were in the sideboard. they just throw it out, upside down, who cares if it rainy out there. BTW, they also left some gift for your, sawdust, wood brick, foot print on your carpet and your sandles in side your own room, and let see the new flooring : ). What the point to renew the floor if only make it worse? At least carpet keep things quiet.Add on: I quote Most of our residents havent had an issue so were not sure where the miscommunication was for you., Please, do check Cade Roberts comment below, published a month ago, looks familiar? Or it just doesnt count unless you give a one star here.
I signed a lease here because of all the events they hold with free food to be honest. I’m a chef so I don’t always want to make food when I get home, it makes me glad I live here.
After seeing mixed reviews for the complex, I moved into Northgate Lakes and lived there for a year. I now know for certain that almost all of the POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE FAKE. I consistently had terrible experiences with this property and the staff, making it the worst place I have ever stayed. There was construction lasting the majority of the lease that would start around 7:00 am every morning, which is just a few hours after the loud overnight house parties would wind down, leaving just a few hours for actual sleep. There would be construction materials falling from upper floors and heavy machinery blocking the apartment exits. The construction did nothing to help the ROACH INFESTATION or the MOLD.One day, while half of my roommates were on vacation for the week, I received a handwritten (mostly illegible) note stuck in the door that seemed to have vague instructions telling us to move all of our possessions off of the floor within the next two days in order for a random floor replacement. Also, it said that the water would be shut off at 9:00 am that day. That was all the notice/information we received. Sure enough, two days later at 8:00 am (an hour early, forcing me to take a shower at the UCF gym), the maintenance crew (MOSTLY A GUY NAMED CRAIG) barged in, woke us up and started screaming curses at us for not following his instructions. Before we had even gotten out of bed, he had *thrown* all of our belongings/furniture outside (including a nice TV that had gotten rained on later). Half of our roommates were gone for the week; even if they werent, where were we supposed to put all of our stuff? We contacted the office about this multiple times and they were OF NO HELP WHATSOEVER.There are more horror stories from our time at Northgate, not to mention it is very OVERPRICED. Just please save yourself from this place and find somewhere else to live, like almost everyone does after their lease is up. I live at Tivoli Apartments now. Just as close, much cheaper, cleaner, and friendlier staff.
This place was very Home-y place to live and very quite. They always had events for residents to attend and meet other residents. One of my favorites was a dunk tank to dunk CA’s! They also answer your work orders within a couple of days and you don’t have to wait months for it! It’s also pet friendly and has a small dog park in the back of the complex! Another perk is UCF has a shuttle service that stops in the complex 3 times and only takes 20 minutes to get to the campus and back which is nice since the complex is located close to campus!
Northgate Lakes has been amazing so far! I’ve been here for about two months now. The CA’s are so friendly and are always very happy to help anytime I come into the office. The one time I needed maintenance done (we had a few carpenter ants from all the construction) they came and back fixed the problem very quickly! I haven’t had a single bad experience there yet, it’s been all positive! The community hosts lots of events for the residents that range from social, fun, free food events to career building and informative events. I could not have chosen a better place to live.
Northgate is quite honestly the best student apartments by UCF. The community assistants are amazing and very kind. I have toured many apartments and decided on Northgate because they are so flexible and nice. I was able to move in Summer 2015 which is not like most other places. They only have fall move in dates but they helped me find a room and had me in for summer. I have never felt so safe in a student apartment complex as I do at Northgate. Although the apartments arent the greatest for what you pay, they make up for it in how they treat their residence and the safety of the area. They also host tons of events for residents which I love! They are renovating some apartments which is awesome so I am excited to renew here!
This is my first time living here and so far its pretty nice. UCF is super close as well as for a shuttle that takes you directly there is a super benefit for living here. Not only that, but theres a market with a Publix 15 minutes walking distance. Living here is very convenient.
Honestly the place is what you expect from a college living. too expensive. the old maintenance guy is an animal tho. witnessed him grab a wasp next with his bear hands and just throw it into the forest.
Location is good, but WiFi is horrible, and enjoy construction or yard work outside your window every morning. Always construction vehicles in the street. Lived here for two years, would not recommend.
