My first two months here have been amazing! When I first moved, maintenance came very promptly to fix a few minor things in the apartment. I love the private entrance to my apartment & the garage is a bonus! Staff are very friendly and the neighborhood is walkable to many places. So pleased that I selected this The Sovereign at Overland Park!

Meticulously kept apartments in a beautiful community. The amenities - pool, gym,Office space and public areas are great especially for families with kids.

Love living here! The landscaping is always well taken care of and I feel safe in this area! Maintenance is always extremely responsive and kind.

We moved into The Sovereign about a month ago now and so far have nothing but great things to say: The pool is amazing, the property is so beautiful and well kept, and the location is great. We love how dog-friendly the property is too!

My husband, son, and I love living at The Sovereign. We have lived here for two years now. The office and maintenance staff are excellent, the community wonderful, and the pool is top notch!

Scheduled for an apartment tour at 4:30PM. They employee who took me on the tour was in hurry for an appointment she had at 5:00 PM. That literally didn’t care to show the place around, and explain about the apartment. She handed over the Brochure and asked me to check pricing for the apartments. So rude and unprofessional.Because of the unprofessional behaviour I am not interested in getting the apartment since the management is least bothered to sell the place to me I wonder how they would behave here once I move in.

My parents had lived here and had nothing but problems with the maintenance supervisor (mike) he was always in a hurry to get out of their unit, and things were never fixed correctly. Very disappointing...

I’ve owned my own home for almost 20 years and have recently decided to downsize. I’ve been looking at different complexes in the Op and Leawood area. I was so impressed with your leasing consultant Paige. She was kind, and greeted every person with a warm smile and often their name. Having someone acknowledge the importance of choosing my next home stood out to me. She really added to the appeal of this complex.

The service technician was very professional and efficient. I also asked him to adjust the front door strike. He did so without hesitation and it took him little time. This should keep the front room warmer on these cold and windy days.Thank you so very much.

I think the maintenance service guys do a wonderful job! I have had problems with my shower head and Mike has come to adjust and check the flow. I find all the guys so approachable and kind. Great job!!!!

Moved in 2 years ago for the safety of the area, being 2 miles from work and the attached garage! How I love parking in a garage, not worrying about finding a parking spot and not having to clear ice off my windshield during winter. The people in the office are always pleasant and really make you feel at home. The cons, the apartment is very small, no pantry, not a lot of room for cooking and no privacy with my patio. That being said the pros out weigh those cons, but I will have to be moving out at the end of my lease, they have raised my rent to the point I can’t afford it anymore and really, $1000+ month is out of my Dave Ramsey budget. I am going to miss my garage. If you can afford it, this is a pretty nice apartment complex.

Edit:5 stars changed to 1 start because of bad experience during moving out. Since Sherman handled the management things got worse.

I was very impressed with the immediate response to the snow storm this past weekend. As a new resident was curious as I watched even during the night the crews out in the street area working and by early morning the 4 wheelers with snow blades were out on the connecting walkways and they kept it up. Great crew. Office personnel have also been great! Thank you.

Called and made an appointment. When I showed, not only was I stood up, but other residents were there, also trying to get in contact with the front office. I left multiple voicemails and still havent heard anything back. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Dont know what kind of business is being ran here, but obviously I should take my business elsewhere.

Love the Sovereign. Moved in six weeks ago. Wonderful place. Love my apartment. Be aware though that if you do have to move before your lease is up, they will hold you to a two month notice plus a $3,000 lease breakage fee. For me, thats $6,300 gone. They dont care what the reason is, the rules are the rules and there does not seem to be any flexibility or consideration. They will not make an effort to rent the empty apartment to another tenant and will let it sit empty during the two months notice period. Failure to comply results in negative rental history. Loved everything else about Sovereign except this aspect.

February 10. Had a very leaky bathroom tube faucet and hard to turn handle in 2nd bathroom. Reported the issue Saturday and Monday maintenace came to fix. Mike is new and was very friendly, professional and got the job done efficiently. Cleaned up after he fixed the issue. Service has been spot on. Job well done. Thanks

Garage door now staying closed.Thermostat works. Did not Friday through Sunday. When turned to off continued to cool. Set at 69 and went down to 65. Continued to put on off and it didnt recognize setting. I put on heat and it went back to 69. Thought ok yesterday. I have it on off today and not sure if it stayed off. Will check.Ants coming from switch plate: tero working. Lights above counter went off and on several times and would not come back on for several tries. Working now. The light above table flickered but never went totally off. Is there a short that could be dangerous.

I absolutely love, love, love this place! I used to be in the apartment industry for several years, up until a couple of years ago, so I am familiar with ALL the competetors in this area and have heard all the horror stories from different people who have lived north, east, south and west of Metcalf and all over Overland Park, and Leawood.My husband and I wanted to downsize from a 5 bedroom townhome, to an apartment. As we began our search, we toured all the complexes in the Overland Park, Leawood, Lenexa area. We toured The Fairways at Corbin Park and acutually put a depsoit down. The next day as we were out and about, we came across The Sovereign. The leasing agents were the best I have seen in a long time! We fell in love with the apartment they showed us, because of all the updated features and the gourmet kitchen with granit countertops. The gounds, landscaping and other amenities are simply breathtaking! We decided to cancel with The Fairways at Corbin Park, because they did not have attached garages and the wait list for a garage was very long.So we have been here at The Sovereign for almost a year now. Words cannot describe how much we have enjoyed our apartment and the experience we have had living here. No one has lived above us or below us and the apartment is sound proof! No noise from our neighbors other than a vivid sound of the garage door going up and down. The management and staff have been simply awesome! Kris, who is the leasing agent, Rocks and is the best ever! She is very knowledgeable and takes her time with you to make sure you get exactly what you are looking for. The management has recently changed, but the transition has gone better than expected.My husband now needs knee surgery and a shoulder surgery, which means we needed to move to a lower unit. The previous managers, Anna and Michelle bent over backwards to meet our needs. We just transfered to our new apartment over the weekend. The new manager, Pam, has been just as accomodating and made sure our move went just as smooth. I dont know her very well yet, but from what I have experienced so far, I really like her! They are very pet friendly and there is alot of positive energy around this community. I encourage you to visit The Sovereign. I believe you will be just as impressed as we have been.

Great place

The AC broke and took them more than 2.5 weeks to get it repaired in the middle of the summer. During that time they provided a portable AC that flooded one of the rooms. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. The trash container smells awful and is always full and dirty. The kitchen and bathroom cavinets are poorly painted. For this price, I wouldnt recommend this place at all. Look around the area and you will find better apartments.

There are traps for wild animals through the facility. There are dead squirrels hanging from the apartment roofs outside my neighbors window. My friends dog got trapped and died. I am hoping this doesnt happen to a kid running outside. I called the community staff and they ignored my concern.

Worst place ever. Do not live here!!!!!
