I have been living in a 1 bedroom apartment for almost a year. The apartment itself is a good size and really nice, and the location is fantastic. However, you can hear a lot of noise from the upstairs neighbors if they are heavy-footed since 1 bedrooms are on the bottom floor. The apartment doesnt seem great structurally since my floors are not level. The biggest issues Ive had are with maintenance and office staff, but that didnt start until a couple months ago.I had a leak from a pipe above my laundry room that was dripping onto the floor and caused water damage to the wall and ceiling. I kept having to remind maintenance to come and fix it; it ended up taking them about three weeks to fix, and my laundry room was unusable during that time. Ive had other maintenance requests marked as completed when they were not completed, so I have to submit the same maintenance requests for them to finally get done. The most disappointing part of Savoy is their lack of good customer service and communication. It is apparent that their staff do not care at all about the tenants. When I called about an issue that arose due to Savoys mistake, the leasing agent acted as if it was not their fault and did not want to take responsibility. She spoke to me with a rude and unprofessional tone that was extremely off-putting, and I considered lowering my review to 2 stars just for that encounter. Overall, its an okay apartment to live in, but I expect more when I pay so much.
We have been living here two almost 3 years. We really like our unit. We are a larger foot print for a 1 bedroom. We are on the bottom floor, and our back porch faces the beautiful green belt of trees and creek. We are in a section of area where tenants are working adults. Our area is very quiet. We appreciate this more than anything. Our neighbors keep to themselves and will be friendly if you say hello.Parking is great for us, our unit is accessible with spaces out front of our unit. We are close to overflow parking if needed. We have a separate garage that is also very close and convenient. We have had excellent experience with maintenance. We put a request in and we usually have the job completed with in the hour. We have only had two or three incidents that needed maintenance. We plan to stay here until our jobs move us out of Kansas.
New appliances would give it 5 stars. Other than that I love savoy. Maintenance is normally on time and friendly. Neighbors are friendly always waving and smiling. Very welcoming.
Ben was wonderful to work with and I was very impressed with the value, location, amenities and general upkeep - the best Ive seen around. Although I did not end up renting, would highly recommend the Savoy Apartments.
We have lived here for about ten years, we love living here . Great neighborhood, friendly staff, maintenance is very professional, fast response time and very kind . I always recommend Savoy to anyone looking for apartments, its a wonderful place to live .
We have been part of this community for 3 years and love it, we are happy we chose this place to he our home.
I wanted to compliment Jake Collins in maintenance for his professionalism and hard work. I’ve had a few issues and Jake has always taken care of my problems in a timely manner and with a great attitude. Thanks for your help Jake!
Friendly staff, but the apartments have a huge flaw with air conditioning. Almost every day during the summer our indoor air temp approaches 77-79, weve had maintenance come out 3 times now, on the third time we were told us theres nothing that can be done because, and I quote, Hot air rises, and cool air sinks. Its about to be a rough summer here.
My mother and sister unfortunately stayed at this complex for 2 years before finally moving out. The first year was great until new management took over. As you can tell by reading this, Ashley Williams Business Manager is even rude in her comments back to the tenants that in itself explains what it is like living at Savoy. My mother and sister were harassed by the staff at the front desk. My mother tried to dispute some charges on her account after moving out. Turns out that you cannot dispute even though on the letter they tell you you can dispute it. Which is pretty funny considering they dont understand what the word means. The front desk lady learned my moms phone number to where she wouldnt even answer her phone calls. We had to use my husbands phone since my phone number is almost the same as my mothers. Such a waste of real estate and the city should take these reviews into consideration and threaten the property to be Overland Park standards because this place is not it. Please choose a different property because its not worth living here if the staff are going to make your life miserable. Apartment complexes have one goal and that is to be inviting in all aspects. The pool should be clean, the apartments should be taken care of promptly if the tenant has an issue, the customer service should be top notch. If you want a place of leisure. Think again, we had the FBI at our front door asking us questions about our neighbor. If this review doesnt raise every red flag when looking for an apartment, it should. *Ashleys next words* She doesnt even live here. Well Ashley, better check your records again because they might be as messed up as your customer service.
Terrible sales people, specifically the girl at the front! She is very rude, has horrible customer service and is not helpful at all! The management is okay and the maintenance guys are great ( honestly the best and only good employees at the complex are the maintenance guys) the prices are fair and the apartments are decent.
We have lived here for 2.5 years and really like it. We have had several maintenance issues, but they were resolved within 24 hours, which was great. We have been lucky to have quiet neighbors. I would definitely recommend this apartment complex.
Leasing office is not so cooperative. We started application process for an apartment. There was a promo that our admin fee of $150 will be waived off. In the middle of the application process we contacted leasing office as the admin fee was showing up in our application. Theyve replied us saying they will waive off in our welcome letter. Amidst the conversation, the price of the apartment went up by $100 per month. We contacted the leasing office, they said they cant do anything because we did not take the 48 hour quote, which I believe blocks the price of the apartment from further changing for 48 hours. We never knew about this 48 hour quote, neither leasing agents ever mentioned us about this earlier. When the prices went up, they are blaming us because we did not take the 48hr quote. This doesnt even make any sense. Also, when we agreed to the new price (+ $100) and approached the leasing office to talk, still they never talked about the 48 hour quote until we asked them if they can issue that so that the rent does not further increase during our application process. This is pathetic. We have never ever experienced such an awful situation. Weve finally opted out of leasing an apartment in Savoy, who are not welcoming and are just bothered about money.
For $1300 a month a tenant should not have to continuously deal with no air condition in 90 degree weather. Its pure misery to have to sleep in heat . Maintenance guy have to come over once every 2 weeks and thats no exaggeration.THIS IS NOT RIGHT!
Located in a very nice and upcoming area, especially with the prairie fire expansions. We had a few maintenance issues in our unit but they were dealt with with very little turnaround time and of no inconvenience to me or my roommate.Cons:Rent doesnt usually show up on the website right on the first of the monthParking is a little scarceDifficult for Uber (and drive share related companies) to find us some of the time due to the confusing road layout in the complexPros:Well maintained units and fairly modern kitchen equipmentNo insect related issues apart from the occasional small spider by the doorwayNice club, pool, and workout areasSafe area with nice neighbors
If I could put a negative star review I would. There is nothing good about this place. Run down, overpriced, and I hope you enjoy sleeping in a sauna because they will not fix it. Customer service is horrible as you’ve probably read in the reviews above. If you are looking for a place and reading this I ask you to save yourself some time and agony and get off of this option now. You are welcome!
I have lived here for a year since I sold my house and love the area. I plan to renew my lease and am glad that they are fixing the concrete areas. I would recommend this place to anyone looking in the area.
My family and I lived at Savoy for over 2 years (The things we do for our kids to have a great education) & I would NOT recommend the community to anyone.I have tons of saved emails that can expose the issues in detail but instead of posting them I’ll just share the following with you;• Our move in was horrible. I had to reach out to Fogelman Corporate (Eddy) who made sure the copious amounts of issues were rectified in a timely manner because the manager at the time (Sasha) took little to no ownership.• The luxury part of the name ONLY means youre close to the highways, shops, stores, and restaurants.• The most recent manager (Ashley) does handle certain issues but others she doesnt and she and her staff need to take some classes on customer service, phone etiquette and how to state facts vs trying to placate you with unfulfilled promises in the moment.• Sagan the maintenance manager is a rock star and so is another member of maintenance named Kevin. They get more than 1 star.• They will try but DO NOT let them tell you that the abnormal apartment living noises you hear from their paper thin walls is a byproduct of normal apartment living because they will. Manager, & SVP of Operations. ** Update - The resident that moved in after us had the SAME noise issues with the SAME neighbor & they did NOTHING **• If you live in apartment 711, your front door access will be via 712’s two car garage and it will cause problems because of the awful makeup of the property. I talked to the Manager, sent my grievances to the Resident Relations Coordinator, who said she forwarded them to Midwest Regional VP who left me a VM but never responded to my return call and VM.The issue remained and arose on our moving day as well.• Kylie in the office tried telling my husband and I that the U-Haul we had needed to be moved out of the neighbors driveway when our front door is right there as well. I told her we would not be making it harder on ourselves or our movers and that the neighbor could get in and out of her driveway. She then called the police on us, and when the police came out they agreed with me on it being a waste of everyones time, and they did not make us move or ask us too.• The office staff sends maintenance to address issues that they should (our experience in our tenure there) so we werent surprised that a member of maintenance came and told us that he was sent to tell us the neighbor would be leaving in about 30 minutes in case we needed to move the truck to let her out. Hilarious!• Loud A/C units are right by the master bedroom windows.• They do not have a process in place for noise complaints, but they tell you to contact the police as if its their job to enforce noises that are inside of the apartment. If you dont know how to advocate for yourself, dont expect them to do the right thing without pushing them too.
Internet and basic cable are bundled with rent. the rent displayed on portal does not include that. spectrum made 200mbps as basic speed in neighboring communities but here its still 100. we are already paying $60 and dont want to pay more to get speed of 200. spectrum charges $45 for 200mbps in other communities. you get spacious town home here with 2.5 bath that most communities dont have. maintenance is OK. manager and assistant manager are very arrogant. its better to avoid them. probably racist too, as i have noticed huge difference in her tone while addressing white lady after me. i am removing one star for internet and other star for the managers.
I wouldnt suggest this community, they will make your pockets empty, Their website is one useless crappy place, however it is 1st of that month the rent amount did not reflect there, because of that website I was not able to pay rent on time and they charged me late fee. When i called them they said i can still pay the amount without reflecting, where in the hell does it make sense. I also requested them to waive it for that time, they show no mercy. They charged me 10% of my rent. I had to pay $200 bucks just for the late fee. I wish i could submit this post with zero stars, unfortunately I cannot.
It is located in a very nice area; however, the apartment itself is not the best. We stayed there for almost three years and they didnt change the AC filter not even once. Maintenance is not the best and there is holes in the streets all over the complex. They sprayed for bugs only once a year and rarely checked the fire alarm system. For the amount of money we paid for this apartment we expected more. Plus they raise the rent every year which most places do but it is really not worth it.Last thing, when we moved out they charged us for a broken blind that was damaged by the sun. A blind that was in the guest room which was never used and its the very cheap one ($10 max) but when we were driving by the apartment we saw that they changed all the blinds there, so why charge us for something youre changing anyways? Doesnt make any sense!!!If youre willing to spend that much money on rent, youll be able to find someplace better than Savoy.
I strongly believe this is the worst apartment complex in the Overland Park area. The apartment is old, overpriced, and is under horrible management. The staff are rude, incompetent, and lazy. Everytime I have called they never bother to pick up the phone and when do, they use the typical response “ I was with a customer.” This is absolutely ridiculous because everytime I have stopped by the office no one is with a customer and never even greet you. After moving out I received in the mail a letter wanting us to pay fees that were not even needed and are just plain right thieves. They make up the most outrageous reasons to make us pay them for their old appliances just so they can take our money and buy new ones. To add on th their book of lies the letter said if you do not want pay the charges you can dispute it by contacting them within 14 days. So when I tried to dispute it they said you can not dispute it even though in the letter clearly states you can. They talk to you as if you are a little toddler and are always starting an argument specifically Jill Downing. When I first moved here I loved the location and staff, but as of the last 8 months I would have never thought it could run down this bad. Their pool is small and filled with rocks and algae. The roads are bizzare with the speed bumps that make your car fly. If you are looking for an apartment your better off keeping Savoy off your list of options.
Literally the worst apartment I have rented from. Awful customer service -just like every review says. So many maintenance issues. Shortest time I have lived in an apartment because it it not worth it. If I could rate lower I would.
Bugs EVERY day in the apartment. Overpriced. Running toilets and broken water heater. Had locks changed, and carpet torn up before my lease was up, than got charged for a cleaning fee. Trying to get back deposit that should have been returned months ago.
Savoy is the worse apartments to live in, we tried them for our first time moving in an apartment, they didn’t like us when we moved in, they treated us differently ! They raised our rent 7 months into our lease . They never communicated to the other managers so nobody knew anything, my doors never stayed shut ( front door & back door ) Maintenance people never really wanted to help us, also spectrum is paid through the apartments but we got a bill from spectrum for over 500 dollars in the mail ! Their pool is too small for as many people that live there, so I REPEAT DO NOT MOVE TO SAVOY THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT WHO LIVES THERE !
BEWARE!!!! PAPER THIN WALLS, HORRIBLE DRIVING CONDITIONS IN COMPLEX, NOTHING LUXURY ABOUT IT AT ALL, AND MANAGEMENT IS LESS THAN STELLAR!
Literally the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
One word....... TRASH
