Was not a good experience, went there at my lowest point the person doing the assessment decides that she wants to share how her life is great in every way because of her positive thinking, seriously? So unprofessional, then the person that checks you in tells me my insurance was deactivated, a total lie come to find out she never even called. This makes no sense is it because I am not thinking positive? Lmaoooo do better Aspire, glad I wasn’t suicidal because this would have send me over the edge

I love ASPIRE. This behavioral center is what I call my home away from home and my best psych. treatment from therapy to medication regimen. I love the staff and my requested location is KAAB or the Kennedy location. Food is the bomb. The whole staff from Psychiatrist to Maintenance are very caring, compassionate, and empathetic. I have to mention one women who made a great impact on my life and that is Mrs. Doris at the time she was my case mngr. but has progressed to the S.O.A.R.S. department. I LOVE MY ASPIRE!! THANKS for being here.

I was told to a week ago to call back today for a medication appointment I cant even reach no one by phone Ive been on hold for 1 hour and 15 minutes I had to hang up and call back the recording is telling my Q position in line is 56 wow I really need my medication Im going to have to look for a new clinic...

My experience here @ Aspire health has been a living nightmare. My son been out his medicine for over a month. They don’t care, &, I had an appointment last Wednesday 6/16 on the zoom for over an hr. Doctor never came on & put us as a no call, no show. I call the place of business many times. They play this transferring game cause they don’t want to work. But you hear them laughing & joking in the background clear. Now they trying to give me another appointment a month down the road. Keep in mind that will be two months my son would have been out his medicine. This what has happened since he been off his medicine.

Excellent food a new case worker I want to thank you Miss Harper from the Orange county sheriffs department teaming up with these people I also want to thank everybody the staff to the people in mental health I got all my records from citrus county and to everything thank you now I can move forward with my life instead of going backwards thank you so very much

I was baker acted bcuz i went a little over a week off of my meds when i got there i was a little abrasive and un co-operative... I didnt feel i deseved to be there... The people that work at both facilties are for the most part very kind individuals that care... I was absolutely astounded as to how courtious the staff were... I had no idea what i was walking i to and tbh i was a little concerned i hope i never have to return and i was only there for about 14hrs . i think the most critical part is how u behave while there... Calm relaxed amd courteous behavior on my behalf probably helped. Great people. Absolute wonderful humans with huge hearts. H.Lucien Viera

I could not be more grateful for this place. If i had ended up somewhere they send you on the television show intervention, where you do yoga and horseback riding on the beach, I think that would have distracted me from what my primary purpose in being there was. Coming back to my regular life where I do not have access to those amenities to distract me, I would be back inside my head and ready to escape again. We are there to get better. Those who are not ready will do things such as bad mouth the place or tell their family members horror stories to get them out faster. Use the dislike for the place as your ultimate motivating force to do better and be grateful for what you do have in life and that you are getting this chance. Whether it be your second or seventeenth chance, use it as your driving force to do this for yourself so you have a sense of self again. You gotta work the program. Work it because your worth it!

My husband is trying to get his meds refilled and no one will call him back. ITS BEEN A WEEK AND A HALF and its NOT the first time this has happened! This is unacceptable!!! Hes literally on an antidepressant & bipolar medication. Its not like hes on narcotics. He needs HELP and this place doesnt help people! This is an evil corrupt company!DO NOT GO HERE FOR YOUR MENTAL HEALTH CARE OR FOR AHYTHING ELSE.

If I could give a lower review I would. This facility made my situation worse by giving me zero help, the wrong meds, laughing at me when I said I was scared, placing me in a room with a woman who was outwardly violent and then laughing when I said I wasnt comfortable with her, the sleeping mats are thin plastic on a hard wooden box, angry when I asked more than once to call my husband and mother, the only tv we watched was loud obnoxious music videos or violent movies. I now believe I have ptsd from this place and I have frequent nightmares about it now.

I was admitted to this facility last month. I received no care. I had to sleep on a thin plastic mattress on the floor. No food given to me in the evening or morning. I had to ask for food and all I got was sandwich, juice and fruit. No compassion in the staff.

If you know a better place that is free. Then go.

I’m so glad I read the reviews before looking into counseling with this health group. I called this morning to get information about the location closest to me, which isn’t the Pine Hills location, but the only phone number given online is that one. When I asked the receptionist if she had information about the other locations, she curtly asked me, “What’s wrong with Pine Hills? How far do you live?” Her tone was very accusative. Why? No idea. Being spoken to that way just asking for simple, routine information confirmed for me the warnings in other reviews that they treat you with little privacy or dignity.

This is the worst mental hospital ever. They don’t want to release anybody, and if you call they give you the runaround about who you have in there. If you love your family members please don’t take them there.

Terrible option for people struggling with mental health issues

I was there for 4 days and They are rude and don’t take care of there patients. There is no communication between doctors and patients about getting discharged, they would tell you that you are leaving today and they lied and kept you longer the. What you got told . They treat the patients horrible that is why fights break out between staff and people there.

I have come a long way since I first started getting services with Aspire. I love my doctor (Miss Linda) the staff is cool and I dont know what I would do without the patient assistance services. There are worse programs to be in (I know because I just came out of one) Since Ive come back to Aspire I feel much better. Thanks Aspire!

You go there to what you know to detox. Not to be in a 5 star hotel. People are ungrateful with places, what you expect people throwing up, feeling sick, come on, think about it and the point is THAT IS FREEEEE. IF YOU WANT SOMETHIG BETTE go to a detox that you have to pay 5,000 to 10,000. Think of it the next time you put a comment that is going to put other people to not wanting to go in to ASPIRE DETOX, because they are the best team it can be.

Do not come to this facility! I would give it negative stars if I could. I was just recently here seeking an outpatient help program for severe anxiety and depression. They forced me to go into inpatient, dragged me in and threw me into a room onto a mattress with no sheets that had urine and feces on it not to mention the entire room did also. They were understaffed and overrun with patients. Only 2 people in this facility actually tried to help me. I was in contact with 20 staff members trying to get help and only 2 wanted to. The rest are there for a paycheck and ignore the patients. They also make fun off, talk down to, and mistreat the patients here. You would think people in this field would want to help. A nurse told me they can do what they want because it is a government run facility and you have very little rights and dont even have basic human rights so they can get away with it. How is this even legal? One of the 2 people that actually helped said the news has been there before to investigate and nothing ever happens. He hoped that maybe I could bring awareness to change the situation but was doubtful. If you have someone that is in need of help, this facility wont do it. I had a night and day experience from this on to the one on Kennedy. Kennedy was cleaner and I would say 90% at Kennedy wanted to help and the facility was clean. I did notice at Kennedy though that the night help just wants people to shut up and leave them alone, which isnt right, the patients are there to get help not be ignored. Back to Mercy Aspire this place needs a deep investigation and either to be shut down or fix the disgruntled understaffed employees that dont care and inhumane living conditions they give you there. How terrible it is that we turn a blind eye to people in these conditions. DO NOT COME HER TILL SOMETHING CHANGES PLEASE. I noticed the guards see a lot of the same people over and over as they knew quite a few of the return patients names. Is this working if the same people keep coming back or is it just a waste of money that needs a new structure to actually help these people that are desperately needing help!

You have to wait 2 hours after your appointment time to even be seen they move so slow and dont have any consideration of your time. Dr. Riffat Qureshi is the worst avoid seeing her if you can. She is hard to understand as well as a liar 🤥 and racist. I go to the mercy drive one the staff there suck, they are rude and don’t care. I have been a patient for 2 years there and today they test and I done!

My brother was admitted to here every day I talked to him on the phone he was loosing reality more and more then I get a call on day three that he had a seizure and fell and cut his head and was on his way to Florida hospital, when I got there he was in a coma had two black eyes and his head split open he was in a coma for three days now lives with me, he now has brain damage and I had to quit my job to care for him, he never had a seizure in his life before this and has not had one since.my brother is alive by the grace of God but his life is now changed forever. Would not recommend this place;

My brother left crying because they were cruel to the men versus the girls. He had no mattress or necessities and the woman had outdoor meals, tv and late curfew vs men.

This clinic needs to be sued into the ground! I witnessed firsthand as the staff tease, belittle, and shame any and all patients. The facility lacks any treatment abilities and will acts as a holding facility for 23 hours for an ACTUAL clinic to open. All the while giving patients less than required space to house them. If you care for your loved one’s DO NOT SEND THEM HERE!

Cold, impersonal staff. Visiting hours are only at the most inconvenient times & only 2x weekCalling any Aspire numbers means endless phone menus. Posted extensions often get you nowhere except back to menu. If you leave a voice message you get no response.

Was admitted via Dr. P. Phillips Hospital back before Obamacare was passed and so I had no insurance. My understanding is that I would have gone to FL Hospital South now. Had to sleep on the floor the first night. This is policy. Staff was relatively nice because I wasnt needy. (Cool tech asked, What the hell are you doing here?) I did get reprimanded for being on the female side of the unit but that was an accident and nothing further came of it. I was released by the doctor with no questions asked other than, Do you want to leave? which I did, so cant fault the M.D. for that! Not a hell but very much like jail. Strip searched, put in a uniform and made to sleep on the floor, as I said. Nothing to do but watch TV, men and women kept strictly apart. Was there 10 years earlier and the experience wasnt that much different other than : 1) smoking was a HUGE part of the routine back then, and has since been outlawed, and 2) The techs are much less educated now. Back then they were nursing students or grad students, this time they may as well have been working at Disney as merchandise hosts. Their psych knowledge was zero other than to enforce the routine, so again, much like jail.

Just like every other mental health clinic in the Central Florida area they offer no help to people suffering from mental health issues unless you say you want to harm someone or yourself. I understand that Florida’s healthcare system is one of the worst in the country but at some point these medical providers have to hold themselves accountable for not standing up for the patients they are supposed to care for.

Lakeside saved my family. Not only did they diagnose my family members condition. They provided care above and beyond my expectations. Everyone has a different situation. Ours was resolved by the caring professionals at Lakeside. Be patient - this can take a bit of time. Your loved one did not develop this condition in a day and with family support and lakesides support you can have your family back as healthy as possible. We thank them for all that they have done for us

Staff are extremely rude and unprofessional, and the conditions on the unit are unlivable. I was kept in a waiting room in a different building for sixteen hours before being transferred here. Techs and nurses harassed me all night while I was there. The psychiatrist stopped two minutes into our conversation to take a phone call from his mother. Supposedly the food is borderline inedible, but I wouldnt know as all the cockroaches in the dining area put me off from eating. My ID was also stolen by staff and never returned to me after I was released; apparently Im not the only one theyve done that too.

This place is a joke. They do not care about the people they are supposed to be treating one bit. It is nothing more than a holding cell for people who are thought to be mentally unstable. They have no desire to actually get a mentally unstable person some real help. They REFUSE to speak to concerned family members. I understand that giving out information on a patient is a breech of confidentiality, but what about hearing out the concerned family and listening to their version of the story rather than backing up the person who clearly cannot think for themselves. When someone is in a state of paranoia and mental break down, the LAST thing they want is help and treatment. The people who are trying to help them become the enemy, OBVIOUSLY THEY ARE NOT GOING TO GIVE CONSENT FOR YOU TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE WHO WANTS THEM TO RECEIVE TREATMENT WHEN THEY DONT WANT IT!!! But I am sure all of the people who are released from there after the 72 hours and then run off and kill themselves, not your fault right? Bullshit. Have some damn accountability. This place has released the same mentally unstable person over 15 times in the past 5 years. NEVER HAS SHE HAD TO STAY FOR MORE THAN THE RECOMMENDED 72 hours. No matter how bad the situation. No matter what the police and family have to say. Disgraceful.

Im disabled due to a genetic bone disorder and was denied even basic accommodations. My forearm crutches, which are specially made for me and necessary for me to walk, were literally ripped off my arms by a staff member. I had bruises on one arm from this. I was instead given a wheelchair, despite the fact I cannot physically push a wheelchair. Since a wheelchair is useless I was forced to hobble around as best I could.I was also told I didnt have a bedroom, but would be sleeping on the floor in the day room. Despite the fact that with my disability I cannot get on or off the floor.The staff was nasty and rude, the food inedible with no alternatives for food allergies (just eat around what youre allergic to I was told).This place is basically a prison, and thats how they treat the patients. Thankfully my father managed to get me out in less than two days, but I suffered leg injuries for the better part of a month from how I was treated and forced to walk.

This facility houses children 4 to 17 under the Baker Act. The younger children are baby sat by the older. Under the Baker Act parents are not informed, therefore school personnel, without just cause, may submit our children to physical and mental examinations...also, without parental consent. This law, in effect since, has allowed flagrant abuse of human rights. Our Florida school administrators encourage it. If there is insurance, the patients probably stay longer. It is a pill mill. Boys sleep with girls in the same cafeteria size room. One girl was almost raped. It is not the cleanest, certainly not the quietest and appears badly understaffed. Patients are expected to perform chores like hired staff. If a patient has good insurance, he/she will probably be kept longer than necessary. In the end, parents pay the bills, children are traumatized and the vicious cycle continues.

Know a couple people wanting to get off pills and VOLUNTARILY went there. All they wanted to do was give them methadone. Found out that Drug addicts go there when they run out of their drugs. Helps them get over the hump until they get their hands on their drug of choice. Many repeaters on a weekly bases. They aren’t there to offer any kind of success from drugs abuse

I will be filing complaints to the board of health, medical board, and mental helath board as my mom has been hospitalized twice in less than month at this facility. As a therpaist and someone who has worked in the medical field for last 15 years, the lack of assistance family gets at Aspire is appalling. The therapist will not return any calls or messages and everything for patient care is funnel through them. They continue to keep my mom on the same medication that is ineffective and has her more paranoid and suspicious.This led her to start a fire and have this readmission. Unfortunately, even with being on the release of information the lack of communication and assistance is unacceptable. What is sad is this now 8 weeks laters 2 hospital stays and no one will help. What does it take? Death before familys have a voice.This is NOT how mental health should.be cared for and managed. So if your reading this, if enough people file complaints we can evoke change. This can not be the way government run facility cares for patients.

This was the worst place I have ever been. It should be condemned. There was mold in the showers, no extra clothing or disaposable underwear, food was awful, only Gatoraide or tap water to drink. No paper-rtowels in bathrooms, only one behind a construction water jug. Patients could put leftover food in refrigerator in Styrofoam plates....cross-contamination! Access to food from other patients. Musty smell through-out building, mildew. It was worse than jail!!!

I went to get a mental health evaluation. I was told the day before it was free. It is not free. 75$ for an evaluation with uninsured patients With no where to go (unless I wanted to be admitted into a hospital) This place has failed me and clearly a lot of other souls too. Im still searching for help. Lets hope I find it before its too late.

As POA of my sister, who is a patient @Aspire can honestly say, a 1 star wouldnt be fair. Based on my experience their services are more effective, with extensive support. It takes self, family, and provider to equally play a role in getting help. You can not shift all weight, or majority of the weight on one role. I have learned to never put all trust in medical doctors, hospitals, etc. And to never totally rely on self, or family in seeking help. Its hard, tiresome, but there must be consistency in communication, asking questions, calling to check on, making time to visit, to show nothing but concern, love, and support.

My name is Jadiel my mom works in aspire mercy drive My mom is not secured in there I am afraid something happen to her the agency doent care about her safety Many thigs are happening in her unit she is the only nurse and 3 helpers all of her unit co-workers are womans when there is a code they dont have control the adsministration dont care about employees safety I which I could do more for her and the others employees.

Dont submit your loved ones to this prison. They will only feel more insecure in this environment. A healing environment offers acceptance and understanding. The care they offer is to make you feel helpless and weak. Dont rely on someone that doesnt even give you the respect you deserve to actually help you with an illness.

My wife has been admitted for 5 days. I have received only one call that was about the meds they are recommending but no explanation about why. I have put in multiple requests to talk to a doctor. Every time I call I get someone who just reads the chart and says they will put my request in the chart. Then when I call back, they say they see no request for a call back. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. They dont listen, care or communicate.

I was there and the first night I asked one of the nurses to maybe turn the heat up because it was freezing in here and the nurse said Oh no! This is your own little hell here for wanting to commit suicide!. Meat was undercooked and I got food poisoning. List goes on.

Called trying to find out about my wife and no one could tell me anything was hung up and transferred several times till i got administrative which gave me correct wing. But the person answering phone had no clue so gave me supervisor simone taylor a crude rude nasty and uneducated person in a position with which she can and does abuse. I told her about having been hung up on and spending almost two days trying to find out about my wife and she told me i was raising my voice then hung up on me I called back same tone she said that was better it was same tone! I asked for information on my wife said she had not signed information waiver oh wait she did. I asked which was it she said she did i asked for the information she went on stating she dont like being yelled at I again asked for the information nothing she hung up on me.Rude ghetto and in a place to be able to treat others like trash i can only imagine how the patients are being treated and will be filing several complaints.

Hey, are you depressed? are you seeking help through therapy and healthy means? never go to this place! i went to a small branch office in bithlo where they use teledoc, and the employees and doctors there were lovely. the lady (i believe a receptionist?) i spoke to before calling with the actual doctor was better than him and she wasnt even a licensed psychiatrist. yet again, an actual human being is better than him. Dr. Roberts is a demeaning and cruel person, belittling your mental diseases and making you feel like youre an idiot for asking questions! he actually gets aggravated at mentally ill patients for being mentally ill! if you ever see him, run for the hills. you wont recieve treatment, youll be bullied. thanks.

My adult child has been under their care for years. I dont want to reveal my childs name for fear that they will hold it against him. They are uncaring, the do not monitor their patients. The social workers dont return phone calls. I have been very disappointed with this facility.

A place to go out of necessity and nothing else. I have been coming to Aspire for mental health care to treat my anxiety and Bipolar for 6 months. Every time I come here, be it for a scheduled appointment or a walk in I am left frustrated. Be prepared for long waits, really long waits. As I write this I have been waiting to see a doctor for 3 and a half hours. The office staff is unhelpful and rude. You might see a doctor that will help, but likely not. You must wait months for an appointment. Avoid coming here unless you have no choice because your time will in no way be respected.

More like a jail than anything else. The staff is beyond rude and un-helpful, No matter your situation. They treat you unhuman and strip away any basic rights you thought you had. The head nurse insulted me and other patients the entire span of my stay there. They kept the entire place very cold and refused to give extra blankets or socks or even uniforms to keep me warm. If you want serious help go somewhere else.

I worked in PICU for nearly 30 yrs and as sick as I was, I couldnt believe the things I saw! The male techs are ignorant, untrained, unsafe and would NEVER be hired at any reputable medical hospital. One day we all were sitting in day room. The person watching us was about a 500-600 lb woman who couldnt even get up. She slept the entire time. Was she keeping me safe? The techs would wrestle around on the floor, loudly comparing pay checks. The food was so foul and also very sm portions. Therapy didnt exist in any meaningful way. You just sit all day and pray you can stay safe. The whole experience was traumatic!

It is dusty and crusty. The staff would not let me take a shower and I couldn’t even sleep because of all the screaming at night.

I was admitted to the unit on mercy my family told them my medical condition I have sleep apnea they did not care I was assaulted by a roomate punched in my face causr of my condition they did nothing do not go to this hospital it is very crooked the staff were giving patients shots just to shut them up

It gets better I am now being denied individual counseling here simply because I wanted to switch therapist and this was after they switched me themselves.

Told me to sleep on the floor because they were put of bed. Three men were also sleeping on the floor.My forearm crutches, which I need to walk, were ripped off my arms and I was left without the ability to the walk.I was given food Im allergic too and told to pick around the allergens (which is not safe) so I simply didnt eat the time I was there. Staff was abusive and I came out covered in bruises from my crutches being ripped off my arms.Do not go here! This place is abusive and should be shut down

This place is beyond horrible!! The staff is ghetto the psychiatrist and therapist offer no help unless you say youre suicidal or want to hurt yourself in any way shape or form. The place is also freezing cold, dirty and the staff have no control over the patients. I felt normal after being in there for 5 minutes. The food is worse than cafeteria lunch, maybe one star away from prison food and I never had prison food but I can just imagine. Women and men share one facility, theres barely any privacy at the place. Some lady walked in on me while I was taking a shower and didnt close the door right away and kept talking to me while I was naked. Weird, strange, psychotic and scary. If a family member or friend refers you to this place they are trying to tell you something other than what you need know. I wouldnt send Satan there for punishment. From the beginning to the end of that place is just pure ghetto and the staff does not care it seems like they just applied online to get a job to get a paycheck. That place is a joke and waste of time and tax pay dollars. If you are reading this up until this point you must think I am lying, Im telling you right now do not check yourself in there do not send your loved ones there. Youre better off checking yourself in the ER and stay in there for help then that place. Youre better off talking to a homeless man and a cop in the same day to get your mind reevaluated before going to that place. How was it Im checking myself in and the lady tells me, these people here are crazy as hell and you will see 😂😂.😱😱😱😱 I knew I was going to be in for it. Check yourself in there if you dont believe in God or Hope and Faith. And if youre still reading this you must think yeah this chick is crazy for writing all of this. Yes I am crazy but that place its for grim reapers ex baby mamas, lost souls and the devils unforbidden forgotten sons. Its like the judge asking you if you want the needle or the electric chair. Its like walking down a dark road only to discover the door you have to open is hell. And if youre still reading this by now yes you know Im crazy yes but Im trying to save you from this facility. I think for now Ive stressed the issue and yes my mind goes in different places but I would never voluntarily go back to this place again. It is a disgusting place. The staff is rude and dont care about the needs of the patients. They lock you up in your room at night and also lock your bathroom doors the food is horrible. I felt so unsafe. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. I had to pretend like nothing was wrong just so the DOCTOR can release me. Only to come home and wanted to commit suicide.

Ive never seen such disrespect to mentally ill individuals. Telling an individual with anxiety KNOWING they have anxiety that they dont know what the time of anything will happen only makes the situation worse

Horriable place!!!!had my wife in a wheelchair all nite didnt feed her or give her any of her medications dont take your love ones there rude staff no one know anything they say they cant share that info but if its a love one or husband family they have the right too know whats happens woth they family member no the dont care on there

This office is horrible they are slow and expect you to be present 30 mins before your appt but make you wait over an hour before you even get seen for vitals to even see the doctor. They have recently moved the Kids place up stairs and you would think they would have things in order NOPE they are even slower than before and very unorganized..

DO NOT SEND anyone here. They abused my 23 year old son. He was beaten up my a male employee on intake. Even his therapist told me to get him out of there . He still has nightmares about the deplorable treatment. This place should be CLOSED DOWN.

Made a diagnosis without second visits which is malpractice every time I come to an appointment find myself waiting 1-3hours. What’s the point of making an appointment. I don’t move to even use the bathroom and people will try to defend themselves to say they called you but when I come to check at the check in center ohh we lost your paper Work is why you haven’t been called. Well how did you call me then??.. this place sucks I used to be cool with some people here when I was younger but after all this every appointment it’s like wow does anyone pay attention to the patients.... but check in people do there jobs I give them that after I went back they went and fixed it... the sad part is when I went in and asked questions based off the medication they gave me the one prescribing me said I was asking to much. There is nothing wrong with asking about your medication it is illegal to withhold information about the medication your giving to the patient from the patient.

This place trapped me for 2k. I went in to be evaluated for group therapy. I didnt want to kill myself nor did I say I did. I am not depressed but I have CPTSD. I came here to seek help. If I was a threat to myself I wouldnt do that. Nevermind that, the nurse forced me to voluntarily sign myself into the mental ward for depression and anxiety. I told her I dont have either and am not diagnosed with such and they can look at my past records. They didnt care and forced me to voluntarily sign in or be baker acted. I said I only came here to schedule an appointment for therapy. I have CPTSD. Please do not force me to do something I do not want to do as that is where my trauma stems from and I will start to panic. You will make my condition worse. They didnt care. She told me I was alarming because I was upset and I told her I could not afford this stay. I could not do it. She threatened to call security on me and I agreed to voluntarily sign in for 24 hours. I was yelled at for sleeping, yelled at for being sloppy when I was overly drugged (the nurse guy said he was hooking me up? At that point I didnt care.) I have stomach conditions and need to use the bathroom consistently. They wouldnt allow me to go during therapy hours. When I was released as soon as I met the doctor (because I obviously dont belong there) I signed a form that said my treatment after insurance was $200. I later got a bill for 2k. I am a young college student who has CPTSD from sexual trauma and this was just damaging for me. My condition has worsened since and I have completely been deterred from seeking professional help in fear they will trap me again. Do not go here. They will scam you and traumatize you.

I was admitted here for 3 days and not only were the staff members horribly rude and hurtful and disrespectful, they didnt care, didnt help patients get better, and they just made their stay at this helpful place 10x worse. the food is terrible and unnutricious and the beds are awfully uncofertable and they supply you with sheets and pillow cases stuffed with paper, not even a blanket and pillow. This place is terrible for children and do not send your kids here, they will be 10x more depressed and suicidal from when they got there.

The nursing assistants think they run the show. They are bossy, rude and do the absolute least to try to help the patients. The nurses are just mean, like venomous snakes, I was forced to wait well over an hour for pain medication I take for bone cancer in bilateral temporal bones. I don’t even take this as often as I can, just when the pain gets unbearable, 1-2 x per day and not everyday. This was the most despicable display of medical care, “mental health” care I have experienced. Not all of us are strung out junkies trying to avoid jail time, some of us are just mental health patients in need of medication adjustment. The staff for the most part were cold, rude and really do not need to be in the business of “helping” people. There was a night nurse that was an angel.

My 16 year-old sister was admitted to this clinic for having a psychotic episode, the psychiatrist at the clinic finally saw her after a few days and prescribed her medicine that caused infrequent bowel movements to the point where she couldnt use the bathroom for 4 days. There was a warning of this labeled on the bottle but none of the staff on duty were aware or even asked my sister if she was regularly using the bathroom. In addition she had a lot of muscle pain in her arms and legs. I understand that certain medicines dont work well with every patient but I was under the impression that clinics and hospitals helped patients locate the correct medication they could take that would be the most beneficial, the doctor did not change my sisters medicine and even wanted to increase the dosage. The nurses and doctor ignored all of my sisters complaints about how the medicine was making her feel and really didnt seem to care. The fact that the staff was highly unaware of my sisters behavior is shocking since this is supposed to be a clinic where patients are monitored 24/7. In addition when we complained about this the staff and doctors became very hostile towards my entire family.

Please if you care about your self or your family member never go to this place. This is literally a pill mill. They are not into psychotherapy or anything like that there basically there to prescribe medicine and thats it. If you actually want to get better go to a private psychiatrist try to seek another alternative to this place. Your privacy rights dont matter and are non existent here. Dont stay silent if you have a problem but seek another place. They take to long to process you if you need to see one anyways at least a month

I didnt understand what happing 1st time there. I stayed 2 long months! Now I have a Huge Bill! !I have many great nurses and med techs that gave me excellent treatment.Others didnt gave a hoot.I became very ill. Had 2 terrible seizures, but it didnt matter.Florida South Hospital gets an A+! I havent been bac! That was n june.Im currently working at my last job. Thanks Lord!

Living hell. This place need to be investigated and shut down. The people that work here do not seem educated at all or have proper medical training. (Coming from a profesional who has worked in the medical field with years of experience.) I was given medications that made me feel like I couldnt breath...I felt as if I was going to die yet the staff just brushed it off. I dont feel like female and males should be in the same vicinity as each other. At night u cant sleep because males are up roaming around freely. They have rooms to go in but who wants to be in a room with people who are actually psychotic. This place has caused me so much trauma and fear,and when i was given sedatives I couldnt remember anything. I went to a rape center after leaving this place to get checked out because, I wasnt sure if u was i was violated while being sedated. If everybody reading this somehow got together to have this place investigated I think that would be a great thing. People need love and nutruring ...this place is anything but that!!!! Please do not send ur loved ones here. The food is terrible, the water taste disgusting. Please avoid this place at all cost. This place is disgusting and not safe.

I have been a patient of lake side behavior,since 1996 have had some good experience s but the good outweighs the bad its been good for me over all,because i receive the treatment that i need

It was the worst place I dont recommend the service is terrible the food is nasty really nasty. The staff keeps everybody all under drugs just so they dont have to do anything. If you love someone do not take them there or even recommend that place.

This place is a torture chamber.**LONG WAITS**: Everything they do takes no less than 6 hours, and the only chance of getting released is to have their psychiatric panel decide that youre good enough to be released. That panel only shows up around 9am and leaves before 3pm. If you miss that window or they dont give you the greenlight to leave, youre stuck there until the next business day they come in.**ABUSIVE STAFF**: At night it gets stupider. The night staff are extremely disrespectful and judgmental toward patients, including the perfectly normal ones who were mistakenly sent there. The night staff all smoke, have rap battles with each other late into the night, scream profanities at the patients, and some physically slap or kick patients for fun. The night staff are NOT doctors or nurses, but low-wage undergrad students (of any random major, not even psych/medical majors). They are the same caliber of employee as youd expect from a Walmart cashier, and theyre no more qualified than one to handle patients.Patients dont always get fed all three standard meals. They dont let patients make phone calls even though there are signs posted everywhere saying they have the right to do so. They strip search patients dozens of times (with no regard for the patients gender - I saw four men strip-search a female). They confiscate all personal belongings including prescribed medication, and there is nothing for patients to do in there except shiver in a corner to the sound of lunatics and the smell of cigarettes within the small dirty cinder block room that is where the patients live. If their psychiatrists have prescribed you something, you have no choice but to take it or the staff will force you, and they will ignore any complaints about any adverse effects youre experiencing.**RUN-DOWN FACILITY**: The facility is freezing, especially once they take the patients clothes and put them in smelly old paper-thin scrubs. There arent enough beds (disgusting dry rotted stinking mats) for all the patients. Some of the patients have violent outbursts, injuring other patients. All patients are kept together in one area, regardless of gender or level of function/self-control.**ANAL RAPE**: Any patient who gets the slightest bit loud gets held down and forcibly administered sedatives anally against their will, despite their right to refuse treatment, until theyre reduced to a drooling mess.**THEFT**: Oh, and to top it off, when you do leave, good luck getting your personal belongings back. If you have cash or prescription meds, the minimum-wage students handling your property have likely already stolen it.**CONCLUSION**: Think of any awful psych hospital youve seen on TV, amplify that about 400x, and youve got this place. DO NOT SEND A LOVED ONE HERE, NO GOOD CAN COME FROM IT! I cant believe something like this exists, but it is truly hell on earth.

Is there something less than one star? if you have a bad apple teen or family member and you dont want to send them to prison...just send them to this mental hell institution and its as close as prison can be. dont sleep with both eyes closed or you might never be the same again.

Its bad because I been in the mental institution and horrible peoples even I talk and meet some pretty decent peoples but its pretty bad.

My name is Danielle Eagle- Joshua is my son and he is 9 years old. I am disgusted to say that for the last 4 years of his struggle with ADHD, we spent iT dealing with all the incompetencies of Lakeside-the childrens mental health clinic is a disgrace. The receptionists were always rude. The lady wrote me an appointment for their lunch hour, my son and I showed up on time-my luck that day I had misplaced the appointment slip-They refused to see my son because her exact words were I wouldnt have scheduled you an appointment during our lunch hour. Thats when we eat! Well, I returned home found appt. slip and returned. No apologies and I was asked to return in 2 weeks. No good! Mrs. Ivey- she acted like her job was a hassle. None there seem to care about the patients that depend upon them for the appropriate treatment. Dr.Bhaghani always seemed really out of it. Could barely maintain communication with me- my son couldnt understand him. I requested an american english speaking doctor, in the same childrens clinic-that was not acceptable per Lakesides policy.Well I thiNk if it could have been in best interest of my child, it should have at least been considered. It wasnt. Then we hit the major bump in the road. Dr.B pushed unnecessary medications towards us for Joshuas treatment- I refused. I pushed for the one kind that worked- amphetamine salts. low dosage, 2 times daily. First issue we ran into was that Dr. B was writing scripts on expired illegal to use medical script pads. None would fill my sons medicine for at least 2 months. Second issue, once the dr office handled the script pads- we then ran into a major shortage of Amphetamine salts and they were very hard to obtain. Instead of trying to find something comparable, he told me we would have to seek medical attention elsewhere. Now, pushing meds was no problem when it benefited him but wouldnt consider for my child. One incident after he kept writing these scripts, no pharmacy had what we needed. I would take 3 trips to different pharmacies for one full monthly presc. One day- I made such a stink about it that one of the employees from lakeside just so happened to find a prescription. Then hand delivered it to my house. One positive thing they ever did. Last thing that really beat the cake- Lakeside canned my childs treatment plan stating everything was fine. I strongly believe that they did this to force us to go elsewhere. This infomation was submitted to SSI, his schools and medicaid- all his medical has been on hold for the last 8 months. He is failing fourth grade due to things he cant control 100% and I am taking action against lakeside. My son deserves the treatment neccesary to maintain a healthy functioning & happy childhood. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT LAKESIDE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH

Government cut their funding so they no longer offer counselling, not that theyll tell you that unless youve sat around waiting for 2 hours. I also called their pharmacy to request an emergency refill and they hung up on me.

7:30 appointment and the psychiatrist rolls in at 10 til 9. Me and another guy were both booked for 7:30 and then the tiny waiting room filled up with people waiting. I get this place is in the hood, but that doesnt mean you can treat people like their time doesnt matter.

This place needs to be closed down ASAP! I will send people there and they will get shut down. They are denying people who really need it! Im going to the bigger people. Get ready lakeside!

They toldMeId be on medication forever now Ive been off it a year or more and I only started being normal again when I got off it. Staff is trash made me walk in the rain to get there with no shoes or socks and didnt give me socks when I got in. I was 102 pounds when I left. They are abusive.

They drop off sick patients at the Salvation Army without any ID telling them they have a place to stay. Without an ID they cant stay anywhere.

I had an appointment at 9, came and told me that I can not attend because someone else was situated at the same time. They blame the system because they know they do not speak.

Very unprofessional, rude, inconsiderate and bad bedside manner!!!
