SweetWater Homes in Utah is a phenomenal builder. I am not exaggerating, and I am not getting anything in return for writing this, nor am I related to anyone in the company.First off, building a new home is stressful. There is no getting around it- its a lot of money, decision-making, and coordination effort. No matter who you build with, you are going to experience some stress. Having a builder who is quick to respond, quick to provide solutions, and quick to help you get you where you want to be is vital to overcoming those stresses and getting into the home you want.Secondly, Richie is fantastic. He is soft-spoken but determined to get you the house you want and in the budget you set forth. As I mentioned in the previous section, building a home is stressful. Richie will help mitigate that stress. Many times there were items that came up that caused some additional coordination (all builders use tons of different sub-contractors who are all building multiple homes at the same times, sometimes not everything lines up perfectly). Richie was always available, quick to respond, and able to work through whatever hurdle we encountered.Additionally, the other employees of SweetWater are fantastic. From the initial floorplan selection to final design center decisions, they make it smooth and easy. There is no feeling of being rushed (like we felt with the other 4-5 builders we considered who simply want to get you in the queue, get you under contract, and then take forever to make changes or get things done) and all the details are captured in an EXCELLENT online tool called BuilderTrend. This removes any confusion or doubt between selecting items and them being added or built in your home. SweetWater posts frequent update photos and keeps you up do date with the schedule. We first reached out to SweetWater in September of 2017 and we were in our custom home in May of 2018. This was on a custom lot (not in a development) and they helped us from buying the lot to getting us in at the end.Lastly, our home build quality is phenomenal. Having been in the home for the last four months the only items (warranty covered) we have had have been extremely minor (a door lock adjustment, for example) AND taken care of very quickly. Thats another HUGE plus of SweetWater- their warranty program is fast, easy, and responsive. I know folks who are still waiting on fixes to be made months and months after submitting them with other builders. In review, SweetWater should be your first choice for building a home in Utah. They will help you pick your home, your lot, your selections, and build it with high quality materials THEN make sure everything is working just perfectly once you move in.

Sweetwater Homes was incredible to work with from day one. They were extremely accommodating to all of our requests, and we ended up with our dream home for a great value! I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We have been in our house exactly one year from yesterday! Huge shoutout to Sweetwater Homes and their entire team for putting up with us! Highly recommend building with them, if you’re looking for a custom or semi-custom home. They did a great job keeping us within budget, on track, listening and implementing our ideas, and they followed through with every single warranty item after we closed, which is so unique! here’s to (hopefully) never moving again, but if we do, we will always use them!

We have been in our Sweetwater home for a month now and we are so happy! This is the first time we have built a house and we were warned that it would be so stressful, but it wasnt. From the very beginning meeting with Joel, through the design process, and all the visits to our house we felt like the communication was great and our needs were met. They helped us purchase the land we wanted from a pain in the butt land owner.I was THRILLED with the design appointment and how many good standards options there were (which Joel showed us before we even signed anything). Keira was wonderful and helping me make decisions when I got stuck. Any upgrades we choose we reasonably priced. We lived close to the build and were able to meet with Matt and Randy multiple times. Mistakes happened (its to be expected with whoever you build with), but were fixed immediately. Richie made sure the house was exactly as planned.I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to build a semi custom home. You will not be disappointed.

Sweetwater Homes just finished our home in Salem, Utah. They are known for being a semi- custom builder. Our home turned out more than that!!! I am in the construction industry and have worked for many Custom Home builders over past 21 years. I would call our home a CUSTOM home...BEAUTIFUL. Design center had great options to get custom look at semi- custom prices. Their sales agent Joel was amazing. The kind of guy you want your daughter to bring home. The subs we were in contact with were very friendly and helpful. Cant remember his name but was the superintendent for Cascade Exteriors was awesome. He came many times to walk around our home to make sure we were 100% satisfied with all aspects of the exterior. The Electrician and Plumbers were also very friendly with a Custom Home attitude that made me feel special. Thanks Sweetheart Homes Crew and Mr. Richie! My family feels blessed to be in an amazing home.

I could not be happier with my experience with the building experience with SweetWater. Recognizing no building process is perfect, Richie and Joel were understanding of our desires and willing to make adjustments as requested (even when we changed our mind a couple of times). After living in our home as minor warranty items arose, Richie responded within 24 hours each time. I was very impressed with the care they provided both during the following the construction process.I highly recommend SweetWater homes.

Very professional group of guys. Richie, the builder, is very talented and helped us come up with a design that we loved. Enjoyed working with Joel as well. I like that their roles are separated and i know who to chat with. We are excited for our home.

My husband and I absolutely loved our building experience with SweetWater Homes. Everyone we worked with was efficient, kind, and honest. Weve been in our house for 2 and a half years now and I still love it. High quality, and a great team to work with.

Our experience with SweetWater was a bit of a mixed bag. They really made us feel like we were the only ones that had any issues with them, but the more we talk with our neighbors, the more we realize that pretty much everyone has major (and expensive) complaints. Our home in particular was finished with thousands of dollars in mistakes which we are now fixing and other things they simply refused to take care of after our walk through because of how costly their mistakes were.Unfortunately, I would not recommend this construction team to anyone, but if you really must work with this crew, be warned of a few things:1. This business is at best semi-custom, not a custom package. Expect to have a few pretty (but limited) options to choose from in lighting, granite, stone, interior and exterior material, and in other details. If you are hoping for a completely unique home of your own making, be prepared to fight for every choice or simply choose a different builder. SweetWater is not for you. (Youll know a custom builder when you see them because they dont send you to a design center, they send you to a DESIGNER.)2. The general contractor is not hands-on or very present in the process. In all our site visits, we never once saw him and in our emails and calls about various mistakes during each step of the process, he never knew what we were talking about. Some things were straight-up denied until a month or two later when they were too far along to be fixed. I dont know when he actually visited our lot, but it wasnt often or thorough (especially for a builder who claims to do custom details).3. This is a bit specific, but if you are a single woman (or a married woman and planning to lead the process), I would really reconsider using SweetWater. The point man on everything is a real estate agent that does not work particularly well with women. It took me a while to realize this, but after a few months in he was ignoring my calls and input and instead calling my husband to double check things. I had to resort to emailing through my husbands account just to receive a helpful response. Otherwise, I was written off as not understanding the process. (As a side note, I am a designer by trade and my husband and I have flipped multiple homes, so this treatment felt particularly sexist and condescending and was just unprofessional.)4. On top of being prepared to fight for your choices, Id suggest keeping record of all your communication. By the end of our home building process, they only wanted to talk to us by phone because their emails to us left a trail of information that they couldnt later deny. The first six months were a series of debates with us going back to old emails to confirm that they had in fact promised us a certain price, timeline, or detail was doable. When we met with them in person or talked details over the phone and were given information that they later contradicted, we had no evidence to show for it. These last three months of phone and in-person conversations were where all the most expensive mistakes were made. Be prepared to keep a detailed record. On the the upside, we worked with some really friendly, helpful sub-contractors. We like how our home turned out for the most part (and are very glad we fought for the things we did). We still anticipate a long process of fixing their errors over the next few years, but that is the risk we took by building with SweetWater Homes.

We have had several homes built for us in the past and the home we built through Sweetwater was by far the best experience. They were on time and kept to the strict budget. What I liked most was that we knew where they were in the process every step of the way. They actually came in a bit early on completion! All the people we worked with were friendly and professional. The few minor items we discovered after we moved in were promptly taken care of.Cant say enough. Great experience!

Sweetwater Homes is about halfway with building my home, and I am really happy with the process and quality so far. Joel and Richie have been easy to communicate with and they have an App that lets me keep track of the build schedule every step of the way.

We just closed on our home with Sweetwater yesterday. We have really enjoyed our experience with them and cant recommend them highly enough to anyone looking for a really quality, personalized, and fast building experience. They went out of their way to finish everything so that we would be sure to meet deadlines for our loan program--less than 4 months from start to finish! The standard features are so above and beyond any other builder we researched, and we really got to put our own touch on our home. We are so pleased with our new home and with our decision to build with Sweetwater!
