I got a gel pedicure and when I left i noticed that the gel was lumpy and creased. I sent them a message and they never responded. Both big toes peeled off the gel polish by the next morning. Went in today to see if they could fix it and re-polish them considering I spent $70 on the pedicure and tipped very well. I was met with disinterest and was told I would have to pay again. I would rather have no pedicure than give this company my business ever again.

Expected a good fill, gel, and for over 40$ for a gel fill i didnt expect used files and buffer. Is that even legal w health dept? Ewww!!! left with shotty nails, ends unpainted, sides unpainted and glitter so thin you see acrylic nail thru it.Now have to to to a reputable salon and get them repainted 12 hrs later.Not recommended.Trying to post pics. Oh and zero convo from the tech-named Dung. Seriously first sign. Rite.Nail fell off 24hrs later, 3 days later another nail.Id never recommend this place

I have been using this salon for the past 10 years for full gel sets. Wasnt sure how early they open so came to check and decided to leave a review.I have had gel nails for 20 plus years. When I moved to Jacksonville I tried this place. Used a few others too, but they have never disappointed and are by far the best in the area. I see the negative reviews but have never experienced what others are saying. There are employees that have worked here the entire time I have been going. I think that says something about the kind of people running this place. I would recommend them to anyone. I dont have a regular tech, I always use whoever is available. Its not a swanky salon, just a normal nail salon that does a good job and is a nice, clean, safe place. What more could you want.

If you want top quality nails... come here!!! You wont regret it! They do a good job and I left feeling satisfied. I will be back and recommend this place.

Went to this place with my daughter today and what a great experience! My tech is a perfectionist and my daughter was so pleased with her pedi. We so happy!!

They were packed! At first when I said I was getting just a manicure to the attendant who asked, her facial expression was displeased. Although my friend and I were still seated right away. Anna and Tina were awesome. They were both pleasant and my roomie and I plan to go back and only request them! Anna is a rock star creating her own special nail polish and great with free style nail art expression. Tina was pleasant, gentle, sweetest smile and held a pleasant conversation.

Im going on a trip tomorrow and had to do my nails last minute. I have to say I was a little hesitant because of the location but I am so happy I did my nails here. They have me for life!!

Got my nails done from one of their male techs and it literally look like I needed a fill in right after and the paint quality was horrible. I had to get my nails done over 3 days later.

I have come here since they opened shop, I have been to other salons and always come back here when those places mess up. Everything felt very clean! The pedicures are amazing too.

3 nails broke after a week and all of them are lifting and i paid $65 the manager refuse to give any money back and tried to charge me to remove them saying that each employee works for their self so there’s nothing she can do

I had the worse experience here! I would never recommend this place to anyone! This women did my nails and I told her I did not like them due to the fact that they were done very sloppy! I was very nice and calm about it when I informed her. She grabbed my hands aggressively, cut all the acrylic nails off close to cutting my skin, and told me I can leave the salon aggressively. She even cursed at me! None of her coworkers said anything or addressed her behavior. I always get short acrylic nails and my nails looked terrible they were uneven, the polish was chipping by the next day and the acrylics were popping off!

It was the worse experience ever. I had my natural nails dipped. I was here at 530 in chair by 615 didn’t leave till 815 at night then when done nails were the worse I ever had. She filed my nails down way shorter. I told her not to even them up because I had two that were short. I realized what she was doing said something and she continued to be file happy. Not to mention she obviously had no idea how to do the dipping which was obvious with the finished product.I came back two days later for them to fix which was supposed to be free and they still charged me an extra 10.00. Never use this place ever!!!

E cut my finger, very rude . Rushed on my nails and overcharged me. Lisa worked my feet no massage, no oil and that’s what I paid for. Lisa wasn’t as rude as E was but I would not recommend.

The guy who did my feet was absolutely amazing. However the guy who did my nails, seems like he was rushing and hand was shaking the entire time. This is usually my go to spot for my nails. This did not feel like it was worth the 55 I was charged.

I should have read the reviews before I stopped at this nail shop. The nail tech quickly did a full set with gel polish and they were suppose to be coffin shaped (NOT). Five days later the polish started fading off!

I brought my friend here for the first time today for a regular pedicure. While she was picking out her nail color the two techs were pushing the UNWANTED $35 and $50 pedicures. If I could give a negative star I would.This was not my first, second, or third time going here and going to someone (Kim) that has done a good job in the past. However, if youre not getting gel get ready for your nail to done VERY unsatisfactory!!! I went back for the problem to be corrected the next day only to be told Kim does not work there anymore. When I know Kim has been there for at least 3 years. And I bet if I go back by there again Kim will be there. Got my nails done at this establishment, BAD CHOICE!!!! Final results all 10 nails different shapes,some thick some thin what was the Nail Tech looking at. I pointed out all the imperfections. I guess she thought they were right. I wasnt happy with the results. I called the establishment back after leaving and looking at my nails over and over and really realizing that my nails did not look nice. Zero stars would’ve been more accurate for our experience today. Horrible service!! Worst experience ever!! Took my daughter for a mani/pedi day..(first time for her) and it was supposed to be $110 for both of us. They tried to charge me $190 and said she got gel but she didn’t. After disputing it they still charged me $150. They turned what was supposed to be a relaxing day with my 13 year old into a complete disaster. I will never go back and am highly disappointed. Only gave 1 star bc I had to! I got a gel manicure 1 week ago. I have a typing job so my hands are not in water all day. They started peeling so I went back in. The lady acted like she was upset bc I asked her to fix it. She did not do anything to prep to replace the gel. In less than 24 hrs there are huge bubbles at the tips and the whole nail is coming up. I spoke to the manager today and she told me to come in that she would fix it. When I walked in she accused me of peeling it off bc I was trying to explain where and how it was peeling and bubbling up. She offered for me to either let the same girl fix it for free or pay another girl bc the other girl has already been paid.keep in mind I have been here 3 times in 1 week!!!! I get a pedicure every month from the same tech, Tina. She’s amazing and is always polite, considerate, gentle and caring. No one else touches my feet, ever. I’m a customer for life.

When I got my nails done they did very very very bad, they were all bumpy, and my whole nail was not even fully polished, and I asked for coffin shaped and they did more of a square nail, plus they dont even talk to you when you try to talk to them, they very unprofessional, and they were rushing the whole time, it took them only 15 minutes to do a whole set which it should take them a longer time than that if they were trying but they werent. But Modern Nails in the mall is really good and fixed everything for me, and they actually talk to you and are really nice and very professional, plus they have more nail colors and jewls and glitter etc. To chose from.

If I could give this place 0 stars I WOULD. Went to get my eyebrows done, the entire process took literally 1 min. My eyebrows dont look anything like each other and half of one of my eyebrows is missing. I also had a ton of wax all over the side of my face. I called to talk to someone about it and they said they do everyones eyebrows to look different and if I wanted them to match I should have specified and it was my fault. Im in shock. Mistakes happen, some acknowledgment would have been nice at the least. Wish I read the reviews before I went.

This is one of the worse nail shops in Jacksonville. I went there Sunday, June 02, 2019 to get a fill-in and everything was fine until I told them I didn’t want gel nails just wanted regular polish, after that she asked me to pay before I had them painted, so I paid them she just slapped some paint on my nails and said she had to move fast because the polish would bubble up. I do my own toes and I use the O.P.I. and NONE OF MY POLISH EVERY BUBBLE UP!! She was ruff and rusty and I know it was because I didn’t want to get gel nails again. I had them before I got my fill and she charged me $5 just to take the old gel polish off which she was going to have to do anyway to even do the fill so I didn’t understand the extra charge. But I will never go there again, this wasn’t the 1st time I was displeased with my nails but this was the 1st time it was just very unprofessional and unskillful of them.They have their certifications on the front of their desk and if you check it, EVERY LAST NAIL TECH IN THERE HAS A EXPIRED CERTIFICATE! 95% need to go back to school any way and redo the whole program.WOULD NOT GO THERE AGAIN IF IT WAS THE ONLY PLACE IN JACKSONVILLE TO GET MY NAILS DONES!! If you are a teenager looking to get your nails done, dont come here. Ive never been so disrespected in a nail salon. Just because I come in wearing a beanie and no makeup doesnt mean Im not paying. I was told to pay before the lady put the polish on and it was very embarrassing given that everyone else paid once their acrylic manicure was over. To the lady that did the red coffin nails, thats how you lose a tip when you embarrass your customers. I will not be returning and its sad because I use to come to salon all the time with my mother. I know better salons that could do the same thing cheaper and better than how the lady did my nails. I was hoping better coming from a salon that has higher prices. Wish there was something lower that one star.

Came in and sat with Ann, the employees dont acknowledge you when you come in, Ann rushed to do my nails. She was sweet and had a sense of humor, but 2 hours after getting my toes done, my acrylic big toe came off. Literally 2 hours later. Then not only that, they charged me 5$ to add shine to my French tip (which should already come with it if Im paying this much money for my nails, of course I want them shiny). I asked for coffin shaped nails, Ann then starting clipping the nails and after she finished.. then informed me that it was another 5$ upcharge for that shape (which should of been told before she even started the shape, incase I didnt want to pay extra, or didnt have extra on me). I paid for it because I didnt want to be one of those people to cause a scene or a huge inconvenience over 5$, so I just dealt with it. I honestly would not recommend going here. They get super busy, but Im not sure why.. I personally will not visit here again ..

Awful service. There was a family of us. Changed the prices, ruff on teenager and cut finger. Didn’t clean up polish. Over charged and charged prices after we sat down. Pedicure was only 15mins long. Then the lady wanted to argue with teenager in the middle of salon about prices. Called her a liar about the cost.

I been going here for months my nail tech left and went on vacation. I let the owner do my powder dip and it was the worst. She was worst did a bad job and it stared coming off the next day and she got upset and refuse to repair the 2nd time I returned with my nails falling apart.

I used to go here 3 years ago to Larry, and he was always amazing. I recently moved and I was hoping to maybe see him today but unfortunately he wasnt there, and now i will NEVER step foot in this place again! They do your nails while your suppose to be relaxing, you have to keep moving your arms around and hold them in the air for your nail tech to stand next to you and do them?? I literally have buldges all over my finger nails, they are not smooth at all or shaped right. Then i was picking wax off of my feet after my nails were done bc the lady didnt get it all off, she looked at me and just walked away. I pretty much left feeling more stressed than when I came in, still tipped them $16 total so 8 each and I didnt even receive a thank-you in the end. Worst $90 Ive spent in a while! There are cheaper places with higher quality of costumer experience, you guys lost a every 2 week costumer. Id rather drive from riverside to my reg place in Middleburg! They talk generous..but the service provided was horrible.Got my toes done and they cant even paint a full nail...my nails are just a mess..I asked for a umbre look,and came out as if I purchased nails to glue on myself...asked to fix it..and got cut with the drill.HORRIBLE HORRIBLE.

I have never been to the salon, for lack of a better word. They are in a high traffic area. They are the first nail place you see when entering the mall. I should have known better. They have a BBB sign on the front. I asked about their disinfection process. Was told they clean the bowls in between customers. I was told to have a seat. While waiting I asked a clients spouse if they come here often. He said it was his first time. After a customer left, I was told to sit in their chair. It had not been cleaned, so I didnt sit in the chair. There was dead skin in the bowl, dead skin and wax around the bowl and the dirty towels and rags from the last customer. The massage chair was still on and moving. I watched the tech put a drop of hand soap on a wet sponge from the drawer and dab around the bowl. I asked (in English) what was in the red and white spray bottle she said (in English) bleach and reached for an unmarked bottle (clear liquid, she didnt say what it was) and sprayed in the bowl. At this time, the lady signing people in asked me to leave. She told me in English they dont speak English and I would probably feel more comfortable at the more expensive salon in the mall. She basically put me out. When I tried to speak she spoke over me. She was very rude. No customer service. People with nothing to hide dont act like they are hiding something. I am typing this post while I am sitting in a chair at the other salon where they gladly sprayed the bowl with disinfectant, wiped, and rinsed it for me with a positive attitude. Im okay with leaving. I wasnt going to stay. Getting a fungus or virus from improper cleaning between customers is not worth it; neither is being mistreated. The tech is back. The tools are in a packet that clearly has been sterilized via UV light and the emery board, sponge, and pumice are in a single use packet. I will come back to Modern Nails in Orange Park Mall.

If I could give this nail salon a ZERO I WOULD!!! Im a very picky individual when it comes to my nails or a services I am willing to pay for but who isnt! Im 25years old not a little teenage girl who is now just starting to get her nails done and dont know what true quality is. I went in and asked for their best nail tech as I want to make everyone feel comfortable. I get told everyone is the same. Which in all reality NO ONE IS THE SAME. I was going to get service well over $200 in service for her rude self wanna raide her lip and say we cant fix you you picky.I didnt even get seated and was denied service how can you say walk ins welcomed yet you denied me service. Besides the fact that you guys suck now that I see your reviews and spoke with numerous ppl in the area who say you guys rush them are not sanitary and do a bad job Im glad I didnt get any service from you guys. That is not how you treat people who are trying to give you business. I will forever speak negatively about this business, blog, social media shame you guys for what you did. Went to this nail salon because my son had giving me a gift certificate anyway my son said i would not have to pay for anything so when i got there i was rushed to a ped bowl and ask constantly did i want a up grade i would have they would have done this next because i had that certificate the lady came and did my nails at the same time the other lady did my feet so un sanitary i had all over my clothes the dust from the nails i will put it like this i was done in 30 mins. Flat for both she did my nails half ass and fast to she put glue in places it was not sapose to be so when they came off my skin did to i will never ever go to that place again

The WORST experience of my life. I went in about two hours before closing for full set and pedi. Couldnt even enjoy my pedi because she was trying to do my nails in the pedicure chair. Got very upset when I said i wanted a design.... So the fake nails are mostly on when they move me to an actual chair to start painting (skipped the green leg mask and pink foot wax). I showed her the design I wanted on display in THEIR store, she goes the lady who do this design not here but shed try. I should have known right then. When she got two done I said this isnt coming out right just give me black tips and call it a day but she insisted. They looked like a child did them for $90 DOLLARS. I wasnt upset for the price as Ive been coming here for years i was upset they skipped my fave part of the pedi then screwed up my paint job. So the manager repainted the next morning and i adored them!!!! Two days later (today) one popped off!!!! Im done with them!Over all it was rushed and I got screwed on my nails!

First the lady doing my nails was trying to over charge me for services and tried to insist that I pay before any services were finished!!!
