My 3 yr old loves the class but I think there should be a helper or second teacher for the swimming lessons. Managing 5 kids is a challenge let alone in water. He does a great job but I think he could benefit from some help. Plus, it would ease my mind as the parent.
It’s such an incredible place to better yourself. The staff members are always greeting you with a warm welcoming. The amount of effort that’s put into the cleanliness of this facility is obvious.Well worth EVERY penny.
This location seems to be run by very young adults, therefore it is inconsistent and unfair. Were told no kids allowed at all in the facility unless theyre at the day care. We asked about playing basketball they said the parent had to stay up there with them. Then I come in and there are 2 kids downstairs where I use the elliptical, running around while their parent worked out. My daughter has 4 little kids and has not been able to work out because the daycare hasnt been open. Another thing, since the pandemic is winding down, the gyms have started towel service again. When I walk into Butler-Gast Y the towels are sitting there, and they ask me if I would like to use one. When I walk into this Y, I dont see the towels and they dont ask me if I want one. I saw a couple of people with one so I asked about it, they said you have to ask for a towel. Just another bad service.
Love the 25 yard pool and the staff. The pool is clean and perfect temperature. Coordinated lap lanes and awesome staff.
The YMCA has been a true blessing to our family. Thank you to all the staff that makes each experience great. 😊
They need to make cancelation available online. It makes no sense you can sign up online, but they wont allow you to cancel. If youve not utilized your membership, they wont cancel it until you pay. Misleading and unprofessional way to handle business. Shady and underhanded company.
This place is nice and clean. Staff are always friendly. The only issue is that treadmills are very old and most dont even work anymore.
I go here most of the time when I wanna work out, great place, great vibe with staff and other people, nice pool, nice workout rooms and equipment and nice basketball court
I loved this YMCA in my opinion, its the best one in Omaha! I used to come here when I was younger and I joined their after school and Summer program. We went on lots of great field trips, the staff members were cool and I made lots of friends! And there was fun stuff to do there at the Y too! So I was never bored and I always complained when I had to leave. So if you have kids with no where to go after school or if you want them to get out of the house over the Summer, I recommend the YMCA.
They should refund membership dues that is not right to take money from low income people. I do not have a membership here but right is right and wrong is wrong. Do the right thing
Terrible! They need better staff.
I like how they get to go to the museum, the library, the teachers are great they are hands on and provide updates each day. I really like the variety of activities each day. My 3 year old looks forward to going each day.
Great trainers, great facility. The hours work really well. The people working there are great. I have been working with the personal training staff and they have been great. They have great variety in equipment, but I wish there was an elliptical with open stride.
If you can get past the very rude and terse front counter staff, the YMCA gym is well maintained but the day staff make for a very sour experience. They are not friendly and always act as if I am an inconvenience for them. Will not be renewing my membership in July, because I dont want to deal with that attitude every time I visit. Its a shame.
We love the YMCA Early Childhood Learning Center. They have been wonderful providing quality childcare and pre-school education for my daughters. I recommend them highly!
Still takin money out after I told them no like lil kids in a cookie jar dam it’s a pandemic I got weights at home stop takin money out it was on hold
I like how they are beginner friendly but also challenging which makes it rewarding. The teachers/trainers have been personable and approachable while also bring knowledgeable.
The classes are great I enjoy doing Yoga with Stephanie. This YMCA charges extra to use the pool or sauna or personal work out rooms.
The time i have spent at this location has been a very positive experience. Thank you down town YMCA
I have been going to the Downtown Y for almost 3 years and have loved it. Staff is friendly and great!
Travelled to Omaha for work for a week from TN. The downtown YMCA was able to offer me a week pass for $30 which was significantly less than any other gym I contacted. Stacy at front desk was very helpful & courteous. Plenty of equipment & even though it did get very busy I had no problem accessing cardio machines or weights that I needed to use.
My husband and I recently stayed in Old Market and joined a cycling class at the Downtown YMCA at 8am on Saturday morning. The instructor Anthony was a fabulous instructor, very welcoming to us as one-time visitors. The class was AMAZING! I now judge every cycling class in comparison to the one we took from Anthony. The bikes and the studio were great as well, but this one hour class by this high caliber instructor was the highlight of our weekend trip to Omaha. Even his pick for tunes was superb. Everyone at the Y, employees and fellow exercisers, were over-the-top kind to us and made our time wonderful. I only wish we could take and Anthony spin class every weekend.
Very respectful and clean employees who I have a bond with Understand and are helpful
I am really disapointed in the Downtown YMCA location. The steam room has been inoperative for a while now, not only that they charge so much for the steam room and the steam room in the lady fitness area is outdated looks like a time machine trapped in a time capsule, big cockaroches and it gets too hot when it does work . Im not understanding why they have not replaced the steam room after all these years and the price keeps going up.Not worth it.
Good gym, has 2 deadlift platforms, a good power rack and bumper plates. Free weights up to at least 100s, and pretty much everything youd expect from a YMCA gym.
Been working out here for almost 3 years, feels like 2nd home to me now.
I couldnt use an abe roller because i needed a personal trainer to use it. dumb.
It was great but it was kind of tight
Other reviewers mention that this YMCA is clean, Id like to challenge that belief and say that downtown YMCA is filthy and disgusting. We know that this Y is an old building but come on, that doesnt mean that cleanliness should be thrown out the window.Bathrooms appear to be cleaned occasionally, toilets and sinks are very old and some of the toilet handles do not work, leaving some nice surprises for anyone that enters. Lockerooms and showers appear to be neglected. One thing I do like is that there is a decent amount of equipment to exercise, even when its packed. So if you are here to work out and dont mind sanitation and cleanliness coming last, then by all means. This place is for you.
Everyone is so nice and helpful. My home away from home ❤️
This gym has some solid equipment and the staff are very nice and knowledgeable.Where my hangups is are the locker rooms. The general locker room has 4 showers with caution tape over them and a sign saying out of service. They have been out of service since my membership from Des Moines carried over in August to October. The drains on the showers that do work are questionable, a lot of the time the water doesnt go down and just sits there pooling. The ceiling has some spots where paint has started to peel off due to excessive moisture and there are some missing tiles in the floor. The shower controls are pretty coated in lime. Someone needs to replace those or douse them in CLR. The sinks and toilets are ancient and if you workout in the morning I wouldnt attempt to use the sink for shaving before work since theres virtually no water pressure.I loved being a member of my old Y. Things got fixed, the staff kept the bathrooms clean. While I cant review how great the executive mens room is I cant believe they would expect members to pay full price for the experience I had with the general locker room.Currently looking for a gym with a sanitary locker room with showers and sinks that work.
Worst place to be at for a work out or just to swim. Staff is unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. Come here if you wanna be disappointed.(:
The staff is amazing the place is clean and the response time is fast. I love the Y!
Nice pool. Racquetball courts, basketball, fitneaa classes, weight room, aerobic equipment. Great price.
Quiet plenty of room great machines as well as free weights
Decent place to hang out. Give the kids something to do during summer and after school.
Easy. Always get an open lane
Fraudulently charged my account for membership
They took an old building and really made something out of it.
I start to work out on this gym and somebody broke my lock on the mens lockers room and stole my gym duffel and the staff cant do anything for me because the cameras wasnt on service but some guys told me that is not the first time that happened plus i never watch somebody cleaning the equipment like the others ymca
Clean an loved it
Great service
Exhilirating!
