First off I do NOT want to blame any of the staff for the below issues. I believe this is a corporate issue, not a local staff issue. The staff is always helpful and willing to go the extra mile, but can only do what their corporate office allows. The gym on the other hand has a few very big issues.1. The air conditioning has been out for almost five days!2. The vents in the wet area in the locker room are not working, for several months. Allowing mold to grow on the ceiling.3. Walls half painted on the floor.
Very happy with this gym and the staff. There are multiple convenient locations across Omaha. All of the equipment is clean and new. 10/10
This location is very professional & the staff is very helpful. I highly recommend the personal trainers as well. My favorite location!
This gym makes it incredibly difficult to cancel. They claim you just have to cancel 30 days in advance, but somehow it was impossible for me to cancel without paying another two months worth of dues despite having completed my contract. Don’t try to contact them online either, as they won’t make any effort to respond. If you have to talk about anything with them, you have to go in to get anything done. They don’t appear to have any incentive to keep customers and don’t worry about keeping their clients happy.
Went 3 days in a row while visiting my mom in Omaha. Nice place with everything you need to get a good workout in!
I love this gym! The staff are friendly and helpful! They have a lot of services that cater to different peoples needs ranging from one on one classes to group classes to regular workout routine. I enjoy working out at this gym and would absolutely recommend it to anyone!
Ive been a member of the club before Genesis came along and have been very happy with the quality and professionalism both before and after. The gym is super convenient located between my home (downtown) and work (midtown). And my experience with the trainers has been terrific. I have been training with Jake Anderson since August 2020 and have been very happy with the variation in my workouts such that they are never boring. And they can be super challenging! My work schedule is sometimes a bit crazy, and I am very appreciative of Jakes adaptability with adjusting my workout times provided I can give him reasonable notice. Ill be a member as long as I am in Omaha. Really great experience!
For 5 days now this gym has had ZERO air conditioning on the first two floors. This makes the gym feel like a sauna when you walk in and makes the locker rooms unbearable to use. In addition there has been a sink in the women’s bathroom that has been out of order for over a month. I understand that things break, but when paying for a service there is an expectation that the environment will be well maintained.
High quality gym! Great staff and a fun atmosphere. You won’t be disappointed
Very clean gym with a wide selection of equipment and multiple options of that equipment. Nice track around the workout floor with inspiring views of the Omaha skyline and Midtown Crossing out the windows. Very friendly staff and highly capable trainers. The patrons even seemed to take Covid more seriously than other gyms. My absolute favorite place to work out.
Has a Fit3D scan for all the lifters who are tracking body fat and lean mass!! Staff is friendly and communicative & the gym overall is clean and has equipment available even during busy times.
The place and machines are always clean. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. Anytime I have a question or trying to figure something out, they are right there helping me find answers. There is plenty of parking in the underground parking lot. Its always very well lit, and security patrols, so you know your safe.
This was my first time visiting this gym, and I loved every bit of it. Spacious gym space, plenty of various machines (you prolly wont need to wait for anyone to finish their before you start yours), and free weights, you name it!I would like to give a huge shout out to @Lilly, who assisted me at the front desk, and offered me a few days of trial sessions without which I wouldn’t be able to share this wonderful experience with you all. Totally worth it!Unfortunately, I am super uptight with my schedule for a month or two…..Super pumped to join soon though and get them GAINZ!! 💪🏻
I joined this club back in 2015, do to the convenience of the location being next door to work and home. Have stayed all these years even after moving to another town and work going full time remote because of the management and my amazing personal trainer Jake Anderson.Through the club owner changes, management has remained. Always professional, courteous and personable and available to answer any question you have and greeting you by name. And working with Jake has been more than I ever expected and words can not describe. He has helped me reach multiple PR’s in 10K’s & Half Marathons I never thought possible! After six years Jake’s workouts are ever changing to push me further or step back to help me recover from a running injury or medical setbacks. He truly cares about your whole well being and not just the hour you are with him!
Customer service staff is always fantastic but sauna is constantly broken, there’s always mold in the showers, and the AC has been broken for 5 days and hasn’t been fixed. It it wasn’t for the staff, this location would get 2 stars.
I am putting one star on this review as that is the minimum required.Gym issues including but not limited to the following:—The Air Conditioning on the second floor, locker rooms and third floor restrooms has not worked since last Wednesday/Thursday when the outside temp was in the mid 90’s. The locker rooms and restrooms are unbelievably hot and is not acceptable.—Multiple burned out lights in the entryway, stairwell, gym floor and track—Steam room is constantly broken and inoperable—Ventilation not working in the men’s shower area causing extreme black mold to grow on the ceiling—Lack of management and no communication when items are brokenIf needed, pictures of the issues can be posted.Thank you,Concerned Citizen
I’ve been to a lot of gyms having traveled all over and this spot has everything you need for a good workout. The staff is exceptional, facility clean, and equipment in great condition. Only think that would give it 5stars would be the working Steamroom!
My favorite gym to go to! Always friendly staff and easy access equipment!
Great club when everything works. Right now, the A/C is not working and has been this way for a week. The steam room in the mens locker room is once again on the fritz. It seems when anything breaks,, it takes forever to get it fixed,, be it plumbing, fitness equipment, AC or steroom. Get the air conditioning and steam room fixed!!!
Today was my first time going to the midtown gym, and it was something new to me, it private and has a wonderful view. I enjoyed my time especially coming back to the gym after so long. There more levels that have tanning and massages but I have more to explore when I come back tomorrow. I cant wait to back in shape
Really love being a part of this gym. I moved further away but still choose to workout here. I love how welcoming the staff is and the quality of the equipment. I have everything I need here :) highly recommend.
Things never get fixed. Equipment broken for long periods of time. Steam room has been broke for at least a month now. Maybe they should cut our monthly fees in half since were paying a premium price for things that dont work. Would absolutely not recommend. Really miss Prairie Life. They knew how to run a fitness center.
Sean the club manager was exceptionally helpful when I came in to sign up. The facility is clean and well laid out.
Convenient and good equipment. Not crazy busy environment which makes getting a workout in easy
I was incredibly disappointed in the professionalism and communication of the staff member Sean when inquiring. He was incredibly pushy about getting a year long membership without offering me the full monthly options. His pushy sales tactics left a sour taste in my mouth after wanting to join if it wouldnt have been with his interaction. The gym itself is great - wonderful facilities and classes, but the aggressive staff makes it not an enjoyable place to workout at.
Great equipment, clean facility, usually not too crowded. Great all around gym.
Sean the club manager was really helpful. Much appreciated
Great staff, clean equipment! It’s all you need.
The staff made it easy for me to sign up, gave me a tour around the facility and showed me where the equipment was. I like the spaces and the variety of equipment. I have been going for close to 2 months and i am enjoying my fitness journey.
Awesome place clean, quiet, drama free very comfortable.
I love the gym and the staff!!!
Great gym with friendly staff and plenty of equipment. This location only has a weight room, cardio area, and multiple class rooms. No pool or ball courts. But there are other locations and multiple membership options depending on what you want. This location is great now and they have even stated they will be remodeling the space and bringing in new equipment soon.
This location is very super high-quality and always very clean. The staff are super nice too!
Professional & Clean.Best gym in Omaha.Wish it had extended hours.
Steam room never works. If this were fixed 5 stars.
Plenty of equipment to work with.
A nice small workout club in Midtown Crossing. Good classes with a relatively new spin room. Very clean, well staffed, towel service and good locker rooms are a plus. Recent upgrades to equipment has been a nice bonus.
Genesis offers great classes, this location is very clean.
The hours at the Midtown location seem to be a mistake. Closes at 9pm in an urban nightlife district? Closing at 4 and 5pm on the weekends? Hopefully the transition from Prairie Life to The Athletic Club will bring expanded hours to give them a chance to bring in customers and succeed. I hope to one day be a member. Until then, best of luck.
This club re-opened without notifying its members. The way I learned about the reopening is by my credit card being charged another month worth of membership fees. I had already been charged inadvertently for April, for which I have not yet received a credit. Front desk staff incredibly indifferent about members who are unable to resume visiting the gym due to underlying health condition. I was coerced into signing away rights for a refund when all I was left with was the option to cancel. Unethical. Feeling betrayed.
Ive been a member of Prairie Life for over 2 years. The midtown location is by far my favorite of the 3 in Omaha. They have a good selection of newer looking equipment and the facility is well maintained. My only complaint about this gym is that there are not enough squat racks, especially when the gym is at its busiest. Also, this location doesnt have a pool, the other two do.
Very nice staff. Brent is an awesome personal trainer. Ive seen results, and he always checks in with me to see how my workouts are coming along. I highly recommend him. Gabe was very informative when I was signing up, and always makes me feel welcome. Thanks again!
Member for over 1 year. Best selection of equipment for being close to downtown/old market. Great atmosphere and a positive vibe. Beth lead a great team to create a great environment for its members. I would highly recommend for people who want to take their fitness goals seriously.
Little pricey but very nice facility. Good selection of free weights.Still love the gym and the general staff but I cant say the same for the management. After 2 years as a member, I was moving and when I cancelled I was charged for an additional month bc I failed to proved 30 day written notice. This to me is a poor practice, they can do better.
The staff is very friendly and approachable. I train with Michael and he has pretty much saved my life. He is very encouraging and supportive, even if your sessions are up and you arent paying him anymore, he still holds you accountable and is there for you if you need him. Thanks to Prairie Life fitness I have lost 55lbs so far. They have been nothing but wonderful to me. They are my second home/second family. The gym is clean and has great views of the city.
Just started going here. Its already nice, but they are planning more improvements next month
Prairie Life is great living in Millard and working in Downtown with their multiple locations. Each location is unique in its own way but what I enjoy most is the plethora of class options and the pool access at their 132nd Street facility!
I just joined this gym! It is a little pricey but worth it. The classes are great and you can do them at any fitness level. When you sign up you also get a free meeting with a personal trainer and that is really fun and helpful! I really like the HIIT class and the Total Body Conditioning! Trina is so funny, she makes working out fun. :) I have not tried the pool yet but looking forward to it this Summer. Thats a different location tho.
An outstanding gym with a positive and supportive atmosphere, Prairie Life Fitness in Midtown Crossing has far exceeded the expectations of this lifetime gym goer. What you get: quality equipment, great staff, a comfortable ambient temperature, plenty of cardio machines (even at peak hours), positive and friendly fellow members, and a clean and neat locker room among other things. What you dont get: an expensive price. The fees are very reasonable. Ive lost 40 lbs here since I joined in November. Join!
Aside from two or three billing issues on the part of a third party, Ive had nothing but positive experiences with this gym.The operations and billing staff are helpful, prompt and will get you what you need with minimal hassle. The trainers and athletic staff members are knowledgeable, helpful, and most of all extremely flexible with their availability. While the initial investment of membership may be higher than average, the benefits and ease of access to all PL locations makes it worthwhile.
Moved away from Omaha at the end of April. Paid the early termination fee and everything. April was to be my last month of membership. They are STILL trying to charge my credit card. Fortunately my credit card information changed but Im getting emails about my payments being declined and to call them at my earliest convenience to resolve the issue.I have already called TWICE. This is just ridiculous. Get it together, PLEASE.
I originally want to pay cash for one year membership. I was told that was not a option. I signed up for a two year promotion price. I had to call 3 times to cancel after 2 years membership and was told I had to stay one more month because the first month was free? I forgot I got a new debit card and was charged crazy late fees. If you like complicated contracts this is the gym for you.
Staff is super duper sweet every time! The trainers stare a lot which is kinda weird but they arent mean. However, the other members stare non stop and many of them are rude and mock others who dont know how to use certain pieces of equipment.....(me 😔😖)
Great gym. The staff is always friendly. I recommend getting a couple of training sessions to get comfortable with the machines and to set goals. Spin class is great!
I love Prairie Life in Midtown. The staff is really really amazing. They are all knowledgable and really personable. Jeremy, Matt, Beth, Lindsey, and Kristin have really good customer service. All the trainers are really helpful too. The equipment is new and its never too busy that you cant get a good work out in!I train with Kristin and she is absolutely amazing. In November of 2013, I was 129 lbs, 22% body fat and now seven months later Im 110 and 16% body fat. Im in the best shape of my life and even though I live out West now, I still come to PLF in Midtown every day.
Be aware: if your signing anything be sure to read the fine print, they slip a 24mo. contract in under your nose. No one in their right mind would sign a 24mo. contract. They “had all the paperwork done” and “all I had to do is sign” with no mention of being locked in for 24months. The gym itself is subpar, my advice to anyone looking at this gym. Go to Orangetheory, it’s expensive but at least they’re not shady.
They close the gym way too early for what they charge you. The should close at 10 or 11 pm at least. 9 pm is just too early and now they want you to leave the gym before 9 pm, so that the staff can go home to study. So selfish and unprofessional! And what about the nearly $100 that I paid for the month on a temporal membership. Screw themselves! They will end up closing the gym with that attitude. It was better with Carrie Hoops as manager before and now for a Tuesday it was so empty. Things are not well in this gym. Now the students are the staff and they feel that they own the place. I am going from now on only to the 132nd St & W Center PLF. At least they close at 12 am and treats you better.
Ive never actually exercised, but I understand it involves sweating. This appears to be the location where one would do such things if they were so inclined. I am giving 4 stars because there were many attractive people going into here, yet only sweaty beasts emerged.
Love this gym. Wide variety of equipment and classes. Yeah it might be a bit pricey but its worth it. You get what you pay for.
Service could be more congenial but not bad service by any means. I like the machines that count reps like at the other location.
Their trainers show worry more about teaching their clients better form than tell me to get off my 1 minute long business call. Which I cannot control when someone needs to talk to me nor was I occupying a price of equipment.
Money stolen and they didnt care....After my evening workout, I encountered a black man using the locker next to mine. He commented on what a good workout he had but I never saw in the gym nor did he appear sweaty. I stopped him as he was leaving and told him he left his clothes in the locker. Obviously, it was someone elses locker he was in. The next day when I was making a purchase, I discovered the $100 I had in my billfold was gone! I knew immediately who took my money. I called the gym and they said they would check on it and call me back. No one did. I called again and asked for the manager, same response. I contacted the general manager for the Omaha clubs and had a more receptive ear. He checked with Midtown Crossing and was told they knew who had been stealing and evidently we were not the only victims. The man was using a day pass. My wifes son managed Golds Gym and told us day passes are always suspect and that they take special precautions anytime they accept a walkin using a day pass. Evidently Prairie Life does not. They never reimbursed me nor did they offer any compensation. After my membership was up, I never renewed.
Good facility, easy going, good classes and great private instructors.
Don’t even think about deadlifting in the deadlift platform they have for deadlifting (did i mention it’s for deadlifting). You will be scolded instead of dealt with like you are a paying customer. The trainers/staff here could use a few lessons in customer service.
Staff didnt explain my membership information correct and I ended up losing money. Really upset, because over I loved the gym but poor staff
Fantastic gym. Great equipment, friendly staff, and very clean.
Great gym. Good staff, clean facilities, and good classes to choose from.
Horrible Service
Decent gym. Very limited hours.
Not as many amenities as 132nd location but it serves its purpose on my solo trips to the gym.
Great place clean facility and the staff are awesome
Not the most convenient to get into but great once your there
Clean and friendly! Good variety of free group classes, too!
Amazing place to workout! Clean facilities and friendly staff this place has really turned itself around!!
I love working out here.
Good variety of equipment, clean, friendly staff.
How do I edit my emergency contact
Great yoga and pilates instructors!

This location has some very unprofessional staff members.
