If I could offer anyone advice, please don’t move here. I can’t wait till it’s our time to move out. We have run into so many issues it’s actually insane. Maintenance NEVER comes around. I know with COVID things are a bit different, but seriously everything is broken in our apartment and there are things that were broken before we moved in that should’ve been taken care of beforehand. There’s so many things that have gone wrong living here I don’t even know where to start. When we first moved in we had this really janky fridge that was set on the coldest setting and was freezing all of our food, we of course set it back to a normal setting and noticed there was a horrible leak. They had purposely set it to the coldest setting so the leak would stop. We complained for months that there was water dripping all over our food. 3 months later our fridge stops cooling our food. We again contacted the office about our issue and finally someone comes out to look at the fridge. Maintenance left a note telling us our fridge is 20 years old and it has too many problems and they need replace it. It took maintenance 3 days to get out here after to get us a “new” fridge. As you can imagineall our food went bad. Maintenance then came and told they found an extra fridge (which I’m pretty sure means they just took one from another apartment to worry about the problem another day.) I wasn’t too angry as we finally had a functioning fridge that wouldn’t leak all over our food! Maintenance told us (this was a Saturday) they’d come back and collect the fridge that next Monday. It’s been now almost 3 weeks and we have a broken fridge just sitting in our apartment. Fun times. We are currently without a/c and it’s been about a week now since contacting maintenance. They finally got back to me yesterday (and I swear it’s a different person every time that responds back to me) saying they hadn’t gotten any request. When we left countless emails and a voicemail to ensure someone would get our message, (yeah they never seem to answer the phone). It’s just ridiculous. We’ve had countless other things break while living here. Some things we just paid and fixed on our own because we knew maintenance wouldn’t come out. We even still have a leak that drips through our ceiling fan (only when it rains ) they never seemed to come around and fix. There’s so much more if you can believe it, but I’m gonna try and keep it short. If you are looking at reviews to move here just take this as a clue to find somewhere else to live.PS: below I’ve attached pictures of our fridge and a drawer they fixed with duct tape when noticed when we first moved in and there’s also pictures of the exterior, potholes everywhere and a toilet was just left outside the front of our building for awhile, a real classy place.
Do not move here if one of the things you look for in apartment living is quality maintenance. The first time we called maintenance our bathtub was backed up. We waited close to a month and ended up having to find a way to resolve the issue ourselves. When I called to cancel it and told them we fixed it ourselves, we didnt get an apology, we were instead sent a maintenance survey to fill out via email. Fast forward into the future, someones key broke in one of the security doors. You could only open this door from the inside. It took several people living in the building calling for weeks to get maintenance to fix the door and even then all they did was cut the key off that was sticking out. Eventually the door wouldnt open at all. We called and complained and were told to use the other door, which wouldnt have been a big deal except there is hardly ever space to park by said other door. So we either park across the street at a different building to go in the door that works or we park on the side with room and walk around the building to get into the working door. Its been around a year. The door opens now but cant be called a security door since it doesnt even close half of the time. The next time I called maintenance our sink was backed up. There was a steady stream of water flowing off of the counters and flooding the kitchen and dining room floor. Emergency maintenance took hours to get here, steady stream of water still flowing mind you, to cause more issues and break a pipe, and bring another company in to resolve the issue. This time Ive been waiting close to a month to be able to use my dishwasher. When I first called I was reassured that they had hired another maintenance person and they were no longer behind on work orders so we should get a fairly quick response. I called several times since then, each time being told the same thing. Yesterday I called and she told me that she told them to be here today. Im home from work. The dishwasher still doesnt run. I cant wait until this lease is up.
The office is never open, even before the pandemic. It takes several request for maintenance issues to be checked on and even then, they dont fix anything. The swimming pool would be closed days at a time last summer due to not cleaning the pool.
Awesome location! Right next to 680, quick hop to Dodge St. and 5 minute drive to downtown Benson. New management staff is thorough, accommodating and has been extremely helpful. Some of the appliances are a little outdated but maintenance requests have been completed when Ive had issues. Have loved my patio space and the convenience of having plenty of grocery stores, restaurants & bars, car maintenance businesses near by. Right next to the keystone trail which is also great for biking and running!
Great location! Close to interstate as well as good schools both public and parochial. Management has always been friendly and receptive. Really liking the updates being made. For example: the laundry rooms.
I have lived with beacon hills for 4 years 3 months and 2 days currently. My first two years were prefect didn’t have any issues my 3es year I keep having my bathroom sink overflow. This last year I’ve had my rent money placed on someone else’s account I’ve had my rent check be cashed late and then I got told I need to pay the late fee because they cashed my rent check late and now my air has went out and was out for a month and a half and I was told that the site manager was the last person to know the progress on my air getting fixed. I have had 5 different site managers within my 4 years of being here. I am disappointed overall with how things have went down hill with the property and the management this will be my last year here at this property
Never fix things on time.. I honestly feel like they are adding more money to monthly payments.. other neighbors agreed there secure access doors are always broke and I’ve seen kids try to steal cars on the property a couple times.. and drunk people coming from the bar that’s down the street.. asking if they can charge there phone in the hall way
I really enjoy living here. Quiet environment. Havent had any issues since I have moved in. But anything that has come up they have been great at fixing. Any other problems I have had I take it right to management and they try to repair it.
BEWARE OF BED BUGS. Had to throw away almost everything I own and theyre trying to make me pay for the extermination they guaranteed but we found live bugs the next day. Management is terrible, the maintenance guy is cool but if you want something fixed be prepared to wait at least a month. Dont move here unless youre prepared to have your life ruined
Very satisfying living here, love the location, Balcony, friendly neighbors & their pets. And great management!
Worst place to live... EVER! When we first moved in (12 month lease), we asked for a few things to be fixed for the safety of our children. They were NEVER fixed. The manager in the office is INCREDIBLY rude. They claim they will work with you if you are late on rent (my boyfriend and I are both servers). They have no grace period for the rent. After the 1st of the month, automatic $40 late payment. They claimed they would work with us and we didnt have a problem paying the late payments, we always agreed to pay them. One day an eviction notice shows up on our door with only 15 DAYS LEFT IN OUR ONE YEAR LEASE. She had worked with us all year long and then put us into eviction. We went to court with ALL THE MONEY (which she told us on a phone call earlier that week that she would accept it if we brought it to court) and she refused payment and had us evicted. Before we had even received eviction papers, they put a notice on our door at 6 AM (that day) saying they were coming for an inspection. They didnt give proper 24 hour notice. The assistant and the maintenance guy came to do the inspection and they continued to make rude remarks the entire time about how easy it would be to flip this apartment... we had no knowledge of the eviction at this point. They are HORRIBLE. Her assistant doesnt know anything, so when you call to the office, just ask to speak to the manager to begin with. They dont clean the buildings AT ALL. We lived here one year and I can remember someone coming to clean the hallways maybe 5 times the entire year. The last issue we had were the WASPS! They were ALL OVER! The maintenance man had even made comments about them... BUT they NEVER did anything about it.Worst experience ever!
Very spacious and I love having a porch but when they came to fix our bathroom, they had put the door on backwards, there was mold in apartment on the top floor and our ceiling was full out water but they never showed up when we called
Please do not waste your money and risk your belongings here. I cannot stress that enough! BED BUGS, WASP, SPIDERS, AND ANT PROBLEMS. They are all infested from what I’ve heard from other tentants and the cleaning ladies upon living here. The bugs destroyed expensive furniture, ruined clothing, I threw almost everything away. The bed bugs are the worst because after you call to have the problem fixed THEY BLAME YOU. My dad is a highly experienced exterminator and it’s not hard to tell the bugs have been there for a long time and are in the whole complex. I personally had 18 month old, HUGE bed bugs and I lived there for 8 months before I had to get out of there before my lease ended. If you confront them of what you know management gets an attitude. I then received a bill for $1,100 because of the extermination and funny thing about that is not only are the apartments already infested and have been for a long time, their “trusty” exterminators only do one unit at a time when bed bugs travel through walls and go from apartment to apartment throughout the complex. Any exterminator would know this and be smart enough or have the common decency to exterminate the whole complex to prevent them from coming back. They don’t do this cause clearly all they care about is draining money out of your wallet since obviously the bugs will come back and it still your fault of course (: to make my circumstances even more rich they didn’t even do the job right! They “guarantee you 100% effective” but that’s definitely not the case because they didn’t kill all of the bugs, that or they forgot bugs travel through the walls and they cants get all of them unless they do the whole complex! I still have the most disturbing photos of the infestations on my phone because now I’m in a lawsuit with them. According to them I shouldn’t be allowed out of my lease and I owe them the months I had left for rent AND THE OVER 1k EXTERMINATION BILL. They are not considerate and don’t take blame for their crummy apartments. WORST PLACE IVE EVER LIVED. They don’t reason with you or anything, if you ask to get out of your lease they say you have to pay regular rent until your lease is up which mine was over $800. Usually apartments settle with you but NOPE, NOT THEM. Please don’t waste your time and risk your belongings here, it’s not worth filing the lawsuit or subjecting yourself to all the bugs and poor management! Every lawyer I’ve talked to has deemed this place uninhabitable from the photos and videos I have. Stay far from this place.
Terrible management. Car has been broken into multiple times, there is no lighting in the parking lots. They have no grace period for rent. Management only cares about money, not their residents. Save your time and money and do not move here. There are plenty of apartments much better around that are fairer in price and are much more reasonable to their residents. I’ve had a leak since I’ve moved here and they “fixed” it 7 times, the buildings are old, they never clean them and stink in the hallways. I’ve been in multiple units, cannot wait to move.
I am fed up with this apartment complex and goldmark property management.
I lived there for 5 months they had bed bugs and they blamed it on us me and my roommate were to broke to afford the fee so we had to quit the lease. The maintenance guy is a joke as well all the appliances fail regularly the place was not cleaned before we moved in the aroma of dog piss waffted into our room each morning from the living room. The garbage disposals are useless don’t dump anything more than a finished plate down the drain or else they’ll charge you 178$ to fail snaking a drain for 3 hours and bust the dry wall when they could’ve pulled the p trap and cleared the stoppage. This place ruined my life and my roommates life do not ever ever ever i don’t care if you have section 8 do not come to this place the management is heartless And witless. You have been warned. I really want to give it zero stars but that’s not a option
The property manager Jaime was the worst. Her and Val would play good cop bad cop. I had black mold growing in my closet. It took four months to get it taken care. I had to call Tara in corporate repeatedly. Great location but definitely in need of a professional management.
They charge me for the mess they made in my tub after they fixed bath was leaking above me. The apartment had a flood from a storm and they did nothing my window got broken into and same with the lock door.. When moving out they ran up my light bill.
I only lived there for 3 months. I had more issues than I have time to type about. They did a few illegal things while I was there. Ignore noise complaints and much, much more. They play favorites. If you havent been there a long time then you are disposable, you cant speak up about issues they just look for a reason to kick you out then. HORRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE if you want consistency and dependability.
The worst place.. poor management poor maintenance workers.. its 83 in my apartment an they say it hasnt been hot enough outside to fix it.. well if you pay almost 800$ for rent you should be able to use your a/c when ever the hell you want..
If i could give no stars i would, this place and the people are nothing short of a nightmare to deal with. They moved me and my girlfriend into an apartment that had no ac in the dead of summer, weeks later me and my girlfriend start to find bug bites all over our bodies, we dealt with this for months, no one cared about the problems we were having. It took weeks to get any service and when we did get service it wasnt ever done correctly. The snow removal is a joke. They let cars sit for weeks in one spot without any towing or warning given to them. You will regret this place every second you live here. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else... I sure wish i did.
They are running a very efficient office there
Ive lived for two years havent had any issues that werent cleared up right a way Ive had no issues with bugs or poor maintenance Ive had a great time living here
TERRIBLE place to live . They fix nothing only care about the money not the people. TERRIBLE
Because of the staff at Beacon Hill, I will never again rent any properties from Goldmark Property Management, nor will I ever recommend them to anyone. And calling the local regional office and national corporate office does no good. Residents are continually lied to (apparently they think we dont talk to each other). Whenever they are called out on one of their lies, they do not own up to it. One in particular will just smile and shrug her shoulders.Since GM took over from NP Dodge, the quality of the property has gone downhill. The complex went from looking like a nice place to be with beautiful landscaping to what now can best be described as a slum. The building hallways used to be cleaned regulary and smelled very good, now...the carpets are stained and gross and the entries smell terrible. GM just put A LOT of money into the clubhouse that does not benefit the residents, yet most of have appliances that are at least 20 years old. There are 2 washer and 2 dryers for 12 units and these are extremely old and hardly ever work. When I asked the office about replacing them Jamie said well that isnt going to happen. Um, excuse me? Your company can dump tens of thousands of dollars into a useless clubhouse, but cant provide your residents with decent working appliances?Because of these things and the poor management of Goldmark, they are losing a long-term resident who was going to sign on for at least 2 more leases. I would suggest that their corporate offices take a look at the way things are being run. I know there are always suckers out there and the apartments will always get rented. But in speaking with other property management companies, the ideal tenant is a happy, long-term one. Goldmark would rather have high turnover. What a shame.
Awful they have mice and ants in the walls. Manager is rude, and yells. they make their own rules outside of the goldmark franchise to where its unreasonable, They rip you off for what you pay for. Will not go there again. They will try and rob you of your dollar under any circumstance.
The customer service at Beacon Hill is terrible, they are definitely in the business to mislead and take advantage of people. Do not let them fool you. Make sure to double and triple check all documents and everything you sign. And get everything they tell you in writing, signed and dated (even the smallest things, trust me!)I only signed a six month lease and am VERY glad I did so. I could not wait to leave.Security is a joke. Cars parking in the lot were broken in to. The lock to the front door had to be changed all the time.Maintenance did not really want to fix anything. The garbage disposal gave me problems from day one, and all they did to fix it was to tell me not to use it.Neighbors were loud (especially in the middle of a week night) and obnoxious. The hallways smelled. And the sprinklers were set up to spray anybody walking into the building.
I dont understand the bad reviews . Maintenance shows up the same day, quiet and no trouble, office has been friendly and they have Community Life which has nice events at the office to attend. My only issue is that there is no 3 bedroom units, other than that we have been happy here.
Very bad
