This is a nice, quiet, cozy apartment complex nestled in the back away from heavy traffic! Love it!! Management is amazing and on point.. been here almost a year and no complaints. If there’s a problem they will fix it! Love it! And affordable!
This place is a godsend after my last apartment. Stephanie is incredibly friendly and helpful. She truly went above and beyond to assist me in finding a unit that matched my needs, kept in contact prior to move-in, and overall made my out-of-state move a very smooth transition.Maintenance responds very quickly, I put in a request late at night and they arrived first thing in the morning to fix a couple things. The 1 BDRM apartments are very spacious, so much so that I was able to make my home office in part of the dining/living area. The walk-in closet is wonderful too. The balcony doors give an unobstructed view of sunrise. Place 72 is right off bus lines & within walking distance to trails, gas stations, and a grocery store. Very safe & quiet here.
It is a great location, and decently priced. My unit is a ground level 1 bedroom approximately 700sq ft for $715. My water is $30, & my electric is $60-$120. There is coin laundry on the first floor ($1.50 wash, $1 dry) and the machines were recently replaced. When I first moved in, there was some flooding (I believe from the buildings sewer pipes). They hired a company to clean it up. There were loud fans blowing in my apartment for several days. After it dried, the carpet in my walk-in closet stunk bad. The office sent maintenance, & maintenance just gave me the run around. I had better not get charged for it.My neighbor & her friends were profound potheads. Sarpy & Douglas County Sheriffs offices came out & arrested multiple people from that apartment across the hall from me. They moved out soon after. My patio door has to be closed just right in order for the lock to latch. A hobo was found passed out on my patio the other day. It was around noon. We have a key to enter the front door, so it does feel safe here. There are a few security cameras outside the buildings. One trash dumpster & it is at the far end of the property. I dont have any problems with parking, & I dont think my building had a single child in it - all adults.Maintenance does a decent job & they are decently friendly. The ladies in the office (Sarah, Stephanie, Emily) are all very nice & professional. I appreciate them - they will take good care of you.The pool is nice, it has a shallow end & a deep end of 8ft. The trees in the area unfortunately contribute to the pool having leaves in it. Its closed on Mondays for cleaning. There was hardly ever anybody there - possibly due to COVID.There are definite signs of wear & tear. I took extensive photos upon moving in here, & I will expect my entire deposit to be refunded (minus OPPD transfer fee & an $80 cleaning fee CIP offers to renters moving out). I will update this review if unfair charges are assessed, because I take good care of my place. Not to mention, when I moved in, they were still cleaning it. The vendor they hired had failed to thoroughly clean the oven & I had to ask them to clean the vents. They looked like drug addicts to be honest.Although my 1 year here started off rocky, it is ending very well. I can honestly say Ill miss living here. Im only moving because my previous landlord is giving me $1225 credit to move back, & Ill have my own washer/dryer & assigned parking space. Overall, I do recommend this property.
They don’t fix anything at all. You have to put in multiple requests to get anything at all. Spiderwebs all over the backside of the building. Car break ins and not enough parking. Rent way to high for that area. They constantly raise rent every year.
These one star reviews are trippin... management is crazy nice... maintenance order got fixed within 24 hours upon move-in, loving it here so far.
I’ve lived at Place 72 for a very short time but I am truly so happy with it.First: Management is GREAT. Everyone is very kind and helpful. They are on top of the snow removal and send email updates to keep you informed. I submitted an online maintenance request (no emergency) and got a response within an hour. Moving from an apartment with awful unresponsive management – they really are a breath of fresh air.The apartments are older and the ones that haven’t been remodeled are pretty outdated – but you know what you’re getting into before you move in. If you’re looking for something fancy, you can pay an extra $400 a month for that ;) As far as the walls being thin – I only ever hear my neighbors in the walking commons area, I’ve never heard them from inside of my apartment. The location is PERFECT. It seems like you can get to anywhere in Omaha within 10 minutes. It’s close to the Aksarben shopping area with a lot of good stores and restaurants. For a single person, these apartments are great. The apartments are spacious and clean (and that’s saying a lot because I am a little crazy about cleanliness).Don’t get turned off by the negative reviews. People always like to point out the negative and are less likely to get online and post if they have a positive experience. :)
I have been a resident of Place 72 for over four years. During that time Ive dealt with three sets of managers and maintenance crew. The place is very poorly run because the management company also runs at least one other, fancier complex, which apparently consumes most of their time and energy. Place 72 is an afterthought for them. Ive had mysterious water leaks under my carpet on and off (mostly on) since last March. This latest problem has been going on consistently since July and they will not fix it. They make the preposterous claim that the water comes from my shower door not being shut tightly. But the mysterious wet spot comes and goes, while I shower regularly. Hows that for logic? Lights in the communal areas go out and remain out for months at a time. We had a tagging incident here recently (management covered that up quickly - mainly because they were making strenuous efforts to rent out the apartment right across the hall from the tagged area!). The washer incident described by another reviewer was accurate and poorly handled. If you move here, expect your rent to be increased EVERY YEAR and substantially. The only good thing about this place is its location.
An overall negative renting experience. Management avoids simple solutions to issues (car break ins, upkeep) to avoid spending money and instead raises rent on residents.
After living at Place 72 for 3 years it was time to leave after it was ran by a new Property Manager, horrible last year, snow removal was a joke, clothes washer was down for 2.5 months, buildings reek of smoke even thoughthere is a No Smoking policy, very rude and slow management, no on site management or maintenance so if there is a problem you can expect to to have to wait a few days for simple problems to be resolved the list can go on and on, only good thing I can say about Place 72 is the location is ideal, but for the ridiculous price they are charging for such an old outdated apartment you can find a much better one in the same area. Would not recommend to anyone.
Good location. Very quiet and every room is a single bedroom, so there are virtually no kids running around. Generally good people living there. The local management has really gone down hill. When I moved in back in 2014, they were great. When I left in 2016, they consistently failed to address maintenance issues and did a lot of really shady things when I moved out. I had to get in touch with the regional management to get my deposit back. Be wary and take a lot of pictures when you move in.
First of all I would HIGHLY recommend looking at the reviews before even considering this place. I was in a tight pinch and decided to give the place the benefit of a doubt, so I called and made an appointment to view. I showed up 5 min before the tour (10:55) and waited 25 min for Brittany the realtor to show up. There was no phone call saying she would be late or anything. It was a no show. So Im taking my business else where.
Do you love black mold? How about over paying for a small, outdated apartment, and then getting charged unnecessary fees on top of that? Are you looking for a neighbor that literally VOMITS from the top floor BALCONY down onto YOUR deck? Lastly, do you want your landlord to ignore your requests to fix your sink, get rid of the black mold, AND talk to your rowdy neighbors? Then by all means, move into this trash can of an apartment and get crapped on by the joke of a company that is CIP. Do yourself a favor and look for locally owned apartments, steer clear of big companies that dont care if youre living in a mold invested environment!
Theres always maintenance going on it seems like the water to our building is off at least 4 times a month, apartments them selves are okay, definitely need updating!
I wish I could give them 0 stars. In late 2013, my husband and I, two poor grad students, rented an apartment here. By the end of our 2nd year, we were counting down to the day we could finally move out of it. The straw that broke the camels back was water leaking (or more accurately, falling down like rain) from the ceiling and flooded our walk-in closet and bathroom. The apartment opposite from us was completely flooded. When we contacted CIP management to report our damages, they told us to contact our insurance company because they held no responsibility in these situations. We then asked if we could move out early because we couldnt stand the loud industrial fan they brought in to dry the carpet (it blew day and night for a week), they said we would lose our deposit and the remaining rent of the month (thank god, we already switched to month-to-month rent). We had to stay in that unsafe environment until the end of that month. When we moved out, they refunded us about 30% of the deposit, stating we didnt clean the apartment well enough (mind you, we did). A month later, a collection company contacted us on CIPs behalf to collect an amount equal to the partial deposit refund we got from CIP, saying it was an OPPD (electric company) fine. I contacted OPPD and there was no such fine. A friend of mine who stayed in a CIPs building in Lincoln told me they also did this to him. I paid them anyway because I didnt want to deal with disputing a collection item in our credit report. After moving out of Place 72, we paid only $400 more for a new 2 bed 2 bath unit (with our own washer and dryer) in a Broadmoor apartment community. The new apartment was 50% larger, and had plenty of natural light which improved my mood and health a lot. Our new community had 2 huge CLEAN swimming pools and excellent maintenance service. When we moved out, they refunded our entire deposit within a week. We no longer stay at any Broadmoor properties due to new work locations, yet we have only good things to say about Broadmoor. The same thing doesnt apply to CIP. Good bye dirty swimming pool, broken (shared) washers and dryers, paper-thin walls, loud neighbors, rude smokers and dark and outdated apartments. Please steer clear of this apartment complex!
I have lived in Place 72 for almost 2 years and I moved out because I received a job from another state. I enjoyed my stay in this property and I think the business deserve a fair review not from an angry customer :)My favorite is their location. Its 5 mins drive to UNO Pacific campus and easy access to 72th St. and Center st. 20 mins walk to Aksarben, Keystone trail, and UNO stadium. I really enjoyed walking to Farmers market every Sunday morning.I think the management team is very responsible (Although if you try to call them it goes to voice mail a lot I think they only have 1-2 person managing this property). If I sent an Email, they usually respond & create ticket within 24 hours. you can also create tickets on their online portal. The property is clear and well maintained. We spent a lot of time in the pool during the summer and I have seen maintenance guy coming to monitor water quality and clear the pool very often. Most people live here do not have kids, which is kind of nice if you like to go to the pool a lot. At least in my building, I havent had any problem with my next door being too loud. If your apartment is facing away from Center/72nd, you will have a very peaceful back porch. The only problem I could think of is the monthly utility fee was charged separately from your rent, which means you have to go online any pay it. They charge $2 for every transaction, but I could easily combine couple months utility fees together and pay it at once to avoid additional transaction fees. Its still better than some other places that charges $50 flat fee just for utility. I would maybe also complain a little bit about the dentist building across the parking lot mowing the lawn at early Saturday mornings (I know its out of their control)
Stay clear away from these apartments. No grace period for monthly rent payments, always an issue with water getting turned off, and way over inflated charges for any damages.
I like its location
No.
