The shop is a ton of fun and has a great vibe while you’re getting your hair cut. Tyler did an amazing job and now has a loyal customer. Very professional, nailed my style and couldn’t have been more polite.

Small local mens barber shop that gives great service with a personal touch. They do hair and beards including a hot towel straight razor shave old school style. Had an excellent experience every time, they really do take the time to make sure you leave looking fresh.

Alex Taylor could not have been kinder to me and my husband. My husband was dealing with major health issues and Alex ALWAYS made him feel welcome. Alex went out of his way to accommodate his needs. I cant express my appreciation for his concern enough.

First time here and I am not disappointed. Great people and a nice place to hang out while getting a haircut. Mark did a fantastic job with my haircut, even being from out of town I would definitely come back for another cut.

Alex was great! I always have a challenge deciding how to style my hair. I appreciated his guidance and the conversation. This is my new spot! His dog is wonderful as well. He got me in without an appointment and did a very good job communicating and I felt like he cared about his work. Thanks!!

I hate leaving negative reviews on places, especially local businesses, but I have had multiple bad experiences here. The owner was either very friendly or incredibly rude, the barbers did not give me the simple cut I asked for, and overall made me very uncomfortable.

Ive had haircuts on three different continents and the Dockyard Barber (Danny) at the Eastside Barber Co. is one of the best Ive come across... period. Listens to what you want, and hes very good at translating your needs into the exact haircut youre looking for. He also makes some pretty stellar beard oil that I highly recommend, especially for those with thick beard hair who want to soften it up a bit.One tip: although they do take walk-ins, I would really recommend making an appointment, because this place is pretty popular and they are often booked all day long. Highly recommend, though.

Was able to get a cut on a walk in, and I was very satisfied. The barber who cut my hair made sure to be clear about what I wanted before starting, even letting me show her pictures. She was very thorough and gave me great results. The atmosphere of the place is very cozy and interesting, with lots of character. All of the barbers were friendly and I think I found my new spot. I will definitely be back!

Everyone is always in a good mood, lots of banter. Very reasonably priced, only a couple of bucks more then your Super Cuts or whatever. Way better service, people who seem to care. Seems to concentrate on guy hair cuts or short type hair, but I dont know that for sure.

Danny is the guy to see! Everyone in the shop is super polite though. I take my kids here too and they love it. Even when waiting they are not bored, lots of neat things to look at and the last time we visited they had a pinball machine. By far the only places Im getting my hair and beard done at.

Wow. Called in for a trim and beard cleanup to see if they had any openings on a Saturday afternoon. No pickup, and it was getting late, so I decided I would simply try again on a Tuesday or some other time when they were open. Unexpectedly, I got a call back from the owner saying that its generally slow on Saturday afternoons and I should come in anyways. I said we were on our way, as we were driving up North towards Tacoma. Maybe he didnt realize I wouldnt be there for another 40 minutes, but I figured it would be okay since they said they were dead anyways. We got there about an hour before they closed, to find the barber who was about to cut my hair sitting with his arms crossed looking angry. I saw passive aggressive signs adorning the wall basically saying Dont complain about your haircut until you get home and other red flags. I felt bad vibes immediately, but he told me to sit down even though I wanted to leave. I wish he would have let me know that I came in too late and we could have easily rescheduled. Instead, he proceeds to quickly and roughly start speeding through my beard and cut, not saying a word and working angrily... UNTIL, without warning, he decides to SHAVE MY EYEBROWS.Not once has anyone ever messed with my eyebrows, and never once have I asked for work on my eyebrows. I choose to go to an old-school barber specifically to avoid something like this from happening.I have a scar from a biking accident I was in as a teen and the bushiness of my eyebrows was the only thing concealing it. It brought my girlfriend to tears when she saw what was done to my eyebrows. After he shaved them he started a weirdly friendly conversation to try to distract me from what was done. Another man tried to come in for a cut and the owner, was extremely rude to him as well (for showing up at 5:30 PM). He then asked the man cutting my hair if he would like for him to go pick up my barbers cousin, which now made crystal clear why my barber was so upset: I was making him late for something but instead he decided to cut my hair anyways, do a rush job, and overcharge me ($40) for my balding short hair and a quick trim on my beard. For an easy regular cut, not a fade or anything special? No product or shampoo or conditioning or beard oil or anything... didnt even wash my beard. I even offered a $10 tip on top of that for being such an inconvenience and I could see a glimmer of guilt in his eyes - he told me not to worry about it.Dont worry. I wont worry about coming in here for work ever, ever again... Pick a barber shop that actually has some class and wont randomly shave your eyebrows without warning (?!?!?!?!?!). Oh, and left the center hairs (unibrow hairs) alone, despite butchering the actual brows... a big **** you from Eastside Barber to me. Way to run an awesome business, Alex - you showed your true colors the second we stepped through the door.

A very frustrating appointment experience. After I got off work at 1:30pm I chose to see if I could walk in and get an a haircut. And I was told that it would be about 3pm before they could get me in because they had appointments lined up, so they gave me a card and told me I could make an appointment. So shortly after that I called and tried to make an appointment for 4pm. I was told that they had an appointment at 4pm but they suggested 3:30 I said ok. I arrived at 3:20 and they had a customer in the chair, so I sat and waited.. and waited... And waited. At 4pm I was asked to be quite because the customer in the chair was getting a beard steaming. So I left. I am not sure what appointments are for at this place, I am guessing that it would have been another 20min before I actually got in the chair. And guessing because the only communication I got was to be told to be quiet. And then what was there 4pm appointment going to do??

I recently moved to the area and have been without a barber. I got excited when I got a coupon for a free haircut at Eastside Barber because it seemed well reviewed.I stopped by the shop without an appointment and was told it would be about 30 minutes. I waited for over an hour and decided to leave and just call to make an appointment.I called multiple times on different days and never reached a person over the phone. I left a voicemail and never got a call back. After a week of trying, I called another barbershop and they answered the phone on the first call and I was able to make an appointment for the same day.Not really sure why these guys are sending out coupons for free haircuts if they can barely manage to make time for their customers. I will try elsewhere from now on.

My barber was Alex and he made sure that my first visit was one to remember. I asked for a haircut and beard trim, and he patiently completed both to very high standards. The most impressive part of my experience was the personalities of all of the employees. These people obviously love their job. Every barber was engaged in some form of pleasant conversation with their client. Their bantor with each other was pretty amusing to overhear, but when a customer came in with a little boy, immediately the bantor became rated G and the movie was changed to music that was more child-friendly. Great service and a great job. This place definitely gets my recommendation.

Asked for a Caesar cut. The barber said he knew what it was. Gave me a military buzz cut. Smh.Got your txt. I don’t think you understand just how bad this cut is. It’s shorter on top than on the sides. Looks like a two year old cut my hair. Refund? This haircut is so bad you should pay damages.
