What a cool place! They have a good variety of walls to climb. The staff was friendly and helpful! The inside was surprising, it’s cement and enclosed, could not be fun if your claustrophobic. The one in Norman I do feel is much more catered to learners and beginners but I like this one for its challenges. Can’t wait to try the outside walls !!
Another reviewer mentioned the route setting and I’m going to solidly agree that the route setting needs work — I have climbed all over the US and I enjoyed this gym ONLY for the novelty of climbing in a silo. The orientation was clunky and not really helpful besides the tour, the gym does some really weird things with their top ropes that I didn’t necessarily enjoy. The hardest route I climbed was a 5.6, and the easiest was a 5.9 so there’s really no way to know what the route difficulty is without climbing it. Additionally they have known loose holds and didn’t do anything about it when I told the front desk. Also, they wouldn’t top rope certify me until I had been there for 45 minutes even though I asked at the beginning. I did eventually get approved to top rope belay but it was frustrating that we were forced into only using auto-belay when I have plenty of belay experience. The staff was super friendly but seemed inexperienced with providing instruction.Summary: it’s super neat for the experience of climbing in a silo, but by all means go to their other location if you’re not going to climb in a silo.
This place was awesome to visit. Arrived with no appts, we did have to fill out waivers that they recommend filling online. We paid for day passes which meant we could climb all day. Our bodies didn’t allow it but the staff was awesome showing us around. The building itself is so cool, a must see for all.
Great climbing gym for experienced climbers. There are only a couple routes below 5.9 grade. Would highly recommend taking the belay training. Again there are only a few routes that have auto belays. There’s not a lot of space but the cilia prove for a overall better climbing experience. But prepare to be a little more pumped than your used to 💪🏻
If you are new to climbing, please please please dont start here, it will ruin your impression. Instead, go to the summit off flood Ave, or threshold(which is nearby), or Blocworks.I dont know why this is so highly rated. This is hands down the worst climbing gym I have ever been to. Ive been to a lot of gyms, in the US, outside the US and even college gyms( which are like bottom of the barrel). This had to be the worst, because youre paying so much for so littleI dont think theyve bought new home since they have opened. Everything I touched was slick with no grip. Dont go alone, there are only a 2-3 routes on the auto belay youll want to do. The rest will be too easy or too hard.I understand that its built in a silo, and that massively limits anything they can do, but the route setting is just bad. I was like, I have to do WHAT to get to the next hold? I really dont know how they could improve it. Maybe try to add volumes? Bring it up to the year 2020 standards. Please aviod this place if youre new.
Dude, this place is awesome!! The informational gal at the front gave us a full run through of all the ropes and gears then set us free for the rest of the day. Just one of courses can take up hours at a time, and its up to you whether youd like to do it manually (have someone down at the bottom pull you upwards) or have an automatic belay pull you as you ascend upwards. Choosing the difficulty of the course was certainly a plus, since theres many walls to choose from. My siblings and I had a blast at this place, so Id reccomend it to anyone whod ask me! 10/10, would go again.
Excellent climbing gym, must do activity if in OKC. Very long and creative routes, with options for all skill levels, including kid climbing. If its your first time, they give you a quick tutorial on how to belay. Although its a pretty cheap activity already, they have 2 for 1 deals on certain days, just check their website. The employees are very nice and helpful, its a great atmosphere, and its never too crowded. My favorite activity in OKC
Good people very calm atmosphere there is a challenge for every level of climbers
Awesome climbing place, the staff is super nice and helpful! There are a lot of different difficulty levels to pick from and you can either climb by yourself or with a partner.
Well this place is just too much fun. I hadnt climbed in over a decade and really enjoyed using the auto-belays. Only wish the auto-belays went much higher so that we could climb higher. Staff was friendly. Will def go back with more friends. Will also bring chalk next time! Thanks for the fun!
Extremely fun! Thank you🙏🏻
Really chill vibes. Pro-tip if you are looking to try this out, Tuesdays are BOGO nights so bring a friend.
The silos are my favorite place to be on the weekends, and it seems like its everybody elses now too! Im so happy to see this place getting as many guests as it does. If you want to avoid the crowds you can get a membership and climb early on Saturdays, or just about any time during the week. Climbing is a fantastic hobby and the silos are my favorite place in the OKC area to climb.
Awesome experience. The guys at front desk were very calm polite and worked well under pressure.
I usually climb at the Plano Texas gym, but this was super cool. Very different experience climbing in a super tall concrete cylinder. A must-do for sure!
This place is very neat and unique for a climbing gym. I love the use of the old silos as the walls. It gives it such a unique character. There are routes on both the inside and the outside so if the weather is nice you could get some great views. The artwork on the building is fantastic. As for the climbing I found the routes to be fairly easy and basic. Most are 5.8 and 5.9 difficulty. They have a couple harder ones, but these make up the majority. The top ropes are all pre tied with a figure 8 and a carabiner with a gri gri so this makes it more approachable for newer people. It does however lead to some questionable belay practices. I would be nervous with a few of the people I saw without assisted braking devices.Overall a fantastic experience with friendly staff. Bring a friend and check it out some time.
Due to highly illogical and Unscientific rules, we did not get to experience this because they require masks - get this - while climbing. Indoors and outdoors. OUTDOORS!! Seriously??😳 Get with the program guys, even museums in the city no longer require masks. (and no where else in Okla City)
Brought my adult girls. They loved ot!
A-mazing place! Theres something special about the summit gyms, where being there actually feels like a community. Any time that Im just resting my arms for a while, people will often ask if I need a belay. People there are extremely nice and motivating (especially when fighting that fear of heights on the wall). Also, the staff is extremely helpful and informed about safety issues. Climbing and bouldering here is awesome!!
We went for our first time today & had so much fun. Lots of options for all levels of experience. Christian went above & beyond teaching us everything we needed to know & helped us practice until we were totally comfortable being on our own.
Our large group arrived at 10 pm for our reservation. Not real thrilled with the check in process but got through it. No big deal. The front desk help was very helpful and willing to answer questions. Well done to the two young ladies there. However, the two trainers are where things broke down. They were arrogant, unwilling to listen and at times hateful to the high school kids. My group of seniors had a couple separated from their group due to the young man unwilling to get that group together for the first training stop. When I tried to get the 2 separated back together, he rejected without any willingness to listen to what he actually caused himself. Smiles while being hateful on responses has no place in a place of business. Then upon checking out, it was learned this business does not invoice. I have no doubt this was omitted from the reservation conversation. I paid reluctantly. Not a good experience as a large group. I will suggest avoiding this place in the future.
Awesome time, great workout, and informative staff. They provide you with the gear needed. If its your first time, they will go over a little safety class with you, have a few waivers to sign. Even if you are a beginner, the have several set ups that are fairly easy to climb. Also have water and snacks for purchase there.
This place is awesome! The owners have invested a ton in making this a clean and comfortable place to climb with regularly changing routes and lots of variety. You definitely have to climb the outside of the silos if you get the chance! It’s also great for beginners. They’re really helpful in teaching you the basics to get started. If you’re solo, there are several great auto-belay climbs and an awesome bouldering area for you.
Super fun gym close to bricktown. A real neat idea to repurpose some silos. The staff were quite friendly and helpful, treated us with respect and not condescending during the orientation. Had a wide variety of routes to use for a variance of skills. We were beginners and stuck with 9.8 and below but there were more experienced people struggling with 11+sClean equipment and it wasnt too crowded when we went.
Super fun little gym. Awesome use of the naturals and even has climbs on the outside. Loved the little bouldering area too!
Love this place. They have heating installed now! So no more freezing while you are climbing up your awesome 90 routes! Tiny amount bouldering so bring a harness or expect to rent one. Great service. Workers are courteous, safety-conscious and friendly and full of advice and expertise. This is my go to place for top rope climbing.
Creative use of the original structure, theres not much here for bouldering (the two areas they have are quite small) but we still got a lot of enjoyment out of it. The place is much better suited for roped climbing anyways.
Awesome facility and professional staff. Consistently changing routes and there are routes for all skill levels. Fun for everyone, all ages!!!
Love this climbing gym. Ive never found a gym as unique as this one. The routs inside, outside, bouldering, and belay climbing are working much fun and have a good variety of skill levels. The staff regularly change up the routes to keep a good variety of different challenges. They have classes to show you the ropes climbing jokes, if you are new and gear to rent. Great place for a group or even by yourself! Go try this place out!
Amazing facility! The routes were exciting and the heights were thrilling! Greatest climbing gym I’ve ever been to! Didn’t want to leave, we’ll be driving almost 3 hours just to come here in the future!
Damn good spot to climb and learn.
Loved the rock climbing! Super fun and definetly worth the price! There were no lines and had an awesome employee tour us around the place!
Amazing place to find a new hobby, or train for climbing, they have rent equipment and for sale. Brilliant and helpful staff, always cheerful and informative on technique and products. The routes go up to 100 ft long, and are maintained very regularly for safety. Memberships are available.
Awesome idea, great service. They trained us and got us climbing easy and quick and have a cool training area! Great place to go with friends and great deals! Their monthly deal is great too!
I love rock climbing and the staff is awesome! Its very safe and they have each route labeled for how difficult each climb is. If you have never been before, they will teach you everything you need to know in a short amount of time (and make sure to have an adult or older teenager in your group to belay. )
This place is really cool! They took old silos that were industrial park remnants and rather than tear them down or just abandon them they were turned into a climbing gym. Also the whole thing is painted and looks more like art than the eyesore it could have been. Definitely recommend a try if you enjoy climbing
The routes are well-maintained, and provide unique challenges. A good use of potential industrial decay. The prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly, and well-informed.
Couldnt have more pleased. Staff was very informative and friendly. Will definitely be back!
Love it.
Just went this Saturday with my family and had an amazing time! The staff was well trained in safety techniques and helpful getting us started! My son was able to climb a bit too being 3 and it was free which I love as a parent! And overall, the vibes were just great, super genuine, chill place to enjoy a great activity, free of judgement and negativity. Not to mention loved how they redesigned the grain mill, the art, and the extremely challenging climbs! Will def be returning!
Love this place! I found the staff, and especially the management to be really friendly and accommodating to new and experienced climbers alike. Yeah, you might encounter some spinners, but I personally will find them once and they are fixed the next time I come in. There are several routes with varying degrees of difficulty and length so anyone can find something that will work for them. Glad to have a place like this in OKC.
Best first experience EVER!!! Jack / Kevin are absolutely awesome and knowledgeable. Helped my wife and I get started and settled with everything. Definitely going back.
Absolutely fantastic! wonderful experience and friendly staff, we were first timers and Claire was superb! She was hilarious and made us feel at ease.
Such a great place to climb and train.... not only is it fun but a kick butt workout! Fair pricing and tons of fun
Very cool & unique climbing experience! Really fun to get so high off the ground in a silo! Super cool & friendly staff! Solid place with tons of room for improvement as well. Go climb!😀
Amazing place and staff
Awesome place for rock climbing in OKC. We celebrated a family members birthday party, and Summit Gym provide a truly unique experience. My one complaint is that they required us to fill out a waiver form that was too long and requested too much information on an ipad that didnt work very well.
The best part of the gym is the number of long routes--usually 60-90. Unfortunately the bouldering area is comparatively tiny, probably because it would be a waste of vertical space to add more bouldering, although I dont see why a wall cant support both. There are a few autobelay devices, but mostly installed on easier routes. Overall, great climbing, but limited if youre going solo.
Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Great top rope routes but not very many options for bouldering.
Very neat place. Awesome idea for a climbing facility to use an old grain silo. Has indoor and outdoor routes.
Rude employees. No one was up front at the desk when we arrived and proceeded to check in a “member” before us. This place has gone downhill in the past year.
Has been fun for the whole family. Employees there are friendly and explain in detail the instructions.
The facility was amazing. What they lack in bouldering or technicality in routes they make up for in unique wall designs and function. Has both indoor and outdoor routes, a tucked away sloped wall, and several silos with climbs up to 90. The staff was friendly and even offered to belay on some outdoor routes since the crowds were low.
The top-rope here is phenomenal and one of a kind! The staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. The silos are now climate controlled for the most part.
How can you not love this gym. One of a kind design, thrilling height, super friendly staff. If you are a climber, wherever you are in the world, you gotta come here and try it.
This place is awesome. Such a neat idea and great execution. Staff are super friendly.
Super friendly and informative staff. Great climbing gym.
Went with my husband for the first time. It was awesome! The employees were super nice and helpful. We went through the belay class with Makenzie and she was great! I was very nervous and she took her time with us and let me practice until i felt more comfortable. Definitely cant wait to go back!On another note, Id go on a day or time thats not busy specially if you are first time climbers bc there are only so many auto belay routes and they get taken up pretty fast.
Great climbing gym!! Great for families or experienced climbers
First off, I want to say that the routes are awesome. They keep the challenging ones unchanged for a good period of time so people can solve the problems and master them. The less challenging, the more frequently they change them to keep things fresh. They let members change the routes in the boulding room, and sometimes even some of the easier routes. Its very laid back and I get a sense that only people with a passion climb there (Other than parties and stuff). There are currently three auto-belay devices, which each have two difficulties (5-6 or 5-8). As of right now there is one bad review. It is apparent from reading that the writers opinion was based on an initial misconception on the atmosphere of the Gym. I have climbed at Rocktown a few times in the past, and became a full time member 6 months ago and climb multiple times a week. Most of the time if I find a spinner or any other concern, a staff member will jump right on it. But if I have a problem on a 5-11 route, and a group of 20 people who are climbing less than the 5-10 routes, the staff doesnt quite have the resources to tighten a bolt that would only affect an experienced climber. Also, the atmosphere is laid back. I highly doubt the person in the Bouldering-Room was a staff member who told you to wait. The fact that they hand you a wrench to go tighten a bolt is because they let members alter routes. That was probably just a member who was happy to help you out as soon as they finished their own stuff. The only people working or climbing there are those who have a passion. It isnt meant to feel like a prison or business atmosphere. But it very well can feel that way if there is a reservation or large party, which happens maybe during pique hours three days a week. The employees are awesome, helpful, friendly, and have a passion for climbing. I personally watch them every day I climb performing checks on the gear and holds. And as far as the Belay class goes, and other safety, you might want to say exactly what happened in your experience, because Ive been too, and observed, many of those classes, and they follow all documented and industry rules very carefully.
Wonderful place to climb! Very unique, as well! Had a lot of fun! Staff was also super welcoming and helpful!
An Oklahoma climbing landmark with great atmosphere & community.
Awesome place. Our host did good with the kids.
I love the atmosphere and climbing at both the Summit OKC gyms. I just wish there was a free weight and cardio area.
Did a family outing here, and everyone loved it. Helpful staff and accommodating of all age ranges.
The staff is nice and the routes are great. It was my first time climbing anything this high indoors.
Inspirational and encouraging atmosphere...The OKC Climing Silos have been breathed new life. The crew here is fun, friendly, informed, plugged in and ready to help you pull down in Thunder town. Awsome facility, truely outside the box. Cant wait to put on climbing shoes and dance Summits vertical wonderland of holds. Thanks for being an anchor in OKCsRecreational/Health/fitness vitality. We have Lift OFF🕊
Amazing place and even better people
Amazing! The staff members were great and instructive. Thanks for the free donuts!
Awesome friendly and knowledgeable staff, tons of routes for all skill levels, amazing facility and it is air conditioned inside. Best gym Ive been to!
Super friendly staff, and fun environment. 10/10. Would recommend. To you.
Great place awesome staff, I was visiting from out of town and they did not disappoint. Great climb.
This is a great place to rock climb for everyone! We take our teenagers and love it!
My 4 star review is based on the fact that they are the only climbing gym in town. If this gym was in any other town with a competing gym I would have to give it 2 stars.Because they are the only gym in town the prices are extremely high for what you get. But again, you either pay their rates or you dont get to climb anywhere. I would do the same thing if I were in their shoes. As other reviews have pointed out, the route setting does leave a lot to be desired but its not as bad as it used to be.That being said, if you are just looking to take your kids to try something new then all the complaints about route setting really dont apply to you. This gym will suit your needs just fine.
Amazing staff, great walls, and all around a fantastic time.
Wonderful place! Great staff and fun climbs!
Frequent groupons for a good time rock climbing. It is pretty difficult at first but if you attend enough you will be up for any challenge in no time.
Numerous and great variety of climbing walls. Staff and clientele are helpful and generous.Recommend.
Great gym! My friend showed it to me along time ago and now I go all the time! Love it. #fivestars
Awesome gym in a unique location. Tons of fun climbing for all skill levels!
Love this was my first time and would love to do it again.
Great staff and service! Very fun to climb here
Had a school feild trip here all week and they are so accommodating and the kids have had a blast.
Great staff responsible pricing challenging for all skill levels.
Lots of fun, a great workout, a little on the expensive side but its worth it
