Avid gym goer for about twenty years. I love this place. Excellent layout. Great equipment. No frills - my favorite part. Was at Lifetime for a year. This surpasses that place, IF you are looking for a place to get a good work out, rather than have a nice, social experience. They have everything you need, and plenty of it, from free weights and kettle bells to mats, machines and cardio equipment. Super nice staff and easy membership. Clean bathrooms and equipment.
DONT DO IT!They get you with the no contract and no hidden fees, on $25 per month - however, you WILL pay $42 for the first month (hidden fees) and you will receive a contract that in order to get out of it, you must submit your cancelation in writing, not only to golds themselves, but also to the store - in person, as well as a separate email to a 3rd email address.This is not month to month/no contract, with no hidden fees.
This is my home away from home. Ive tried several different gyms around the city but Golds is by far my favorite. Now that theyre price has went down, even better. I like the vibe there. Might not be for everyone but its my type of vibe.

Every time I come in the attendees are kind and friendly, the gym is very clean and easy to navigate. Id really suggest getting a membership here if you are thinking about it. You can use any location, and there are so many amenities that you have access to.
DO NOT USE GOLDS GYM!Tried to cancel membership when Covid got bad and my local Golds permanently closed. This was the next closest location so they were contacted to cancel, refered me online, that referred me back to this location. They then tell me all cancellations must be made with the gym in joined at...which is closed. I tried to contact corporate, sent emails, made calls...and finally blocked charges with my bank since no one would call me back or reply. I spent 20 hours on something that should have taken 3 minutes. Then they turned me over to collections and once again tell me in order to dispute, I must call the gym in signed up through and offer no solution when I say they closed it permanently.Worst morals, ethics and professionalism of any business I have experienced and I use to work B2B.
They are cleaning equipment all day long and most people are socially distanted and wearing masks. Locker room is always clean. So far a great experience at this gym.

Poor customer service Im from out of town and was told a price but when I came in the price was no longer available and was quoted a $75 a month or monthly at $99. No worries plenty of gyms in area that want my money and will cater to short term contracts.

I hate this place. The people at the front desk lie to your face when they dont know an answer. Nobody but the manager knows about the promotions and sometimes not even then. They closed gyms in my area and neglected to get anything in order regarding transfer of promotions like the golds challenge. I am going to move to a better gym like anytime or VASA. Golds is such a scam.

As someone from NYC this gym is huge. Loved it. Great to have a steam room only thing was the seats looked pretty gross. But great gym overall.
I intentionally paid the extra fee upfront to have the ability to cancel without penalty because I knew how I always do gym memberships.When it came time to cancel, I could not do it over the phone, I had to go in person. Tried the first time, and the manager had already gone home for the evening. Tried again in the morning and the manager was not scheduled to be in until after 10:00a. I tried again the next morning, and the manager was still not in at 10:30a. Frustrated, the counter person reluctantly gave me the cancellation paperwork and in the 20 minutes I was there, the manager had still not come in, which would make the manager of the store an hour late for their job.The icing on the cake was that I received a letter from a collections agent about a month later for over $150 (cancellation fee and a month’s membership fee). For being one of the most expensive gyms in the city, you sure don’t act like it.

Try to cancel many time but employee not even know how to work on that and it keep charging me money 2 more months even though I have tried to cancel and not even there. Poor services. Will never come back for sure.

I enjoy working out at Golds because of all the group fitness classes they offer. Also I love the layout of the gym, and all the equipment. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I am working with a personal trainer there now, Stephanie A., and she is the best. Very knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition. She has a great attitude and inspires everyone around her. All of the personal trainers there are very good. I would recommend Golds to everyone. Love it.
Positive: Staff is nice.Negative: I try not to complain but this place is gross. The bathrooms are rarely cleaned, theyre disgusting. A gym should be cleaned daily, especially the bathrooms. Ive seen the same stains on the lockers for weeks. Piss everywhere. Same empty bottles on the floors in between treadmills. Tons of bugs in the light fixtures. I smelled my hand yesterday after using the dumbbells and I wont repeat what it smelled like. They should close the gym and hire a company to do a thorough deep cleaning.
Not nice people to work with. Cancelled my membership with 32 days in advance when they only require 30. Called the office and spoke to someone and they said I would receive a call from the manager and still never have. Yesterday morning just got a letter in the mail saying they sent my account to collections...? Horrible customer service. On top of bathrooms always trashed and machines always broken, stay away!
Gym is okay with the worst cancellation process Ive ever experienced.Pros: plenty of machines, equipment and space to workout in.Cons: machines are often broken, mens restroom / showers smell like a terrible combination of body odor and mold. Ventilation needs addressed.When it comes time to cancel make sure you take pictures of all your forms. Better yet make sure to force the current manager to input your cancellation request in front of you so they cannot lose the form and get you to charge more.
This was originally a Circuit City Location, but it closed down in 2009. Due to bankruptcy, so Golds Gym moved in
Mens locker room rarely has toilet paper, causing some to put paper towels in the toilet. The paper towel dispensers are often empty or nearly so. They could use some more equipment like a roman chair, a power cage or a non-incline/decline plate loaded chest machine or more plate loaded rowing machines. Another leg press and a standing calf machine would be nice too.
Wish they would fix their 3D machine and get some bands but amazing staff!
This place is truly the best gym I have ever been too. The staff a nice, the trainers are certified and its a big gym with a whole lot of equipment and I love the classes. And its fairly reasonably priced at only $35/month.
After Almost seven years of members, I just had the worst customer service experience in my life. OM came screaming on the floor that needed to pay my yearly membership fee before I could workout & asked me to get off the machine.1. Never in the 7 years have I been asked to pay a yearly fee.2. Yelling and screaming private account issues across a busy gym floor is rude, disrespectful, and tacky!3. I dont recall a first, second, or third notice of changes to my account?4. In the past if there was ever a billing issue someone from sales would call & address it privately. Not extort a member into paying a new unknown late fee & yearly membership fee.5. What does my approved month fees of $100 cover?6. You draft biweekly for 7 years, are you not approved to charge the yearly fee to the same card I pay the membership.7. I asked to speak with a GM 16 times to be told I couldnt speak with them.8. Your OM needs to learn BASIC customer interactions skills (1. Never yell at a customer. 2. Inform me of the issue & it could have been taken care of upon exit. 3. When a customer ask for a manger and you are one (they mean your boss!)4. Never start with you cant enter a facility until this is paid. 5. Dont interrupt a workout! Id denote her to cleaning staff, she doesnt need to interact with customers; with her rude demeanor & lack of customer service.Gladly leaving to join different gym!

Management is very misleading! They will promise one thing and never follow through with it. They have charged my card several times without authorization! Horrible experience. And when asked to speak to upper management they state that everything is handled at club level. Beware of this location!
Make sure not to go right after work if your looking a bit rough, they will literally look down on you and treat you like you dont belong. I will never go here again. Much better service at planet fitness.
The experience Ive had with this gym has been truly disappointing. Ive made several inquires about obtaining membership and have even with this location in person. On all occasions, no one was available or returned any calls. Today I called ahead to schedule a appointment just to arrive to systems being down without any notice. Ive heard a lot of great things about Golds Gym but my experience here has completely ruined my view.

My wife is here almost every day. Loves it so much. The classes are a huge benefit, as well as having a membership to a gym that has pools at other locations so she can swim.
Unbelievable, got a 3 day pass to check this place out, got up at 4:30 am to be there only to be told I couldnt come in. What a joke, wouldnt even let me workout, all because it wasnt my first time EVER in a Golds. Gees my mom taught at one 30 years ago, just because I had been in one means I cant try it out. They told me I had to pay to enter. Wont ever get a membership here, nor recommend this place now.
Great people and nice and clean facility but theres no cameras. That means no security for your personal items. I would like to see cameras in the gym. Itll make a difference.
Here you will experience unmatched bad customer service. The manager at this location is a power-trip and has no time for you and your billing questions. I have-been trying to cancel my membership since last month apparently the manager did not had my cancelation form which I submitted about a month ago and they kept charging me every month.Call golds customer service number instead they can solve you problems better then these M0R0NS!
I went in this morning with a 7 day VIP pass. After signing in, I was told to enjoy my workout and was left to my own devices. I was pleasantly surprised at not being interrupted mid workout by someone trying to sell me a membership. My only complaint is that there were members having a conversation right on top of me. Lack of gym etiquette but not the establishments fault just those two douches. The eye candy was exceptional as well;). Cheers!
So back in March, my car was broken into at the golds gym on nw expressway. I was there for maybe a total of 45 mins. According to the place next door, this golds gets break ins all the time. I told golds to cancel my membership and I didnt feel comfortable being there. I finally had to pay $100 to break my contract. Theyre still emailing me stating that I owe them a balance in which their GM said he would take off. I keep calling and the guy isnt doing anything about it. Idk what else to do. Not only am I dealing with the after math of now identity theft (the person took my whole identity), but now I have to deal with my credit being at risk, and all this extra nonsense when the GM can easily go in and take the extra charges off that he said he was going to do.

These guys screwed me around and stole my money. Stay away from this gym, they will lie to get your membership due (and get rid of you) and notify you via a letter months later after your closed account has generated more months of dues. Screw this place. Good luck closing your account after they screw you around (because you will have to jump through hoops and will need the luck, those degenerates) . Stay farrrrr away, I would not recommend this gym to anyone and will never join another Golds after my experience here.
They switched things so that theres only one free squat rack. Good luck finding it open! Bigger complaint though is the wet sauna has not worked for months, and they keep saying itll be fixed in a week.
Its a cool place. Theres plenty of space and enough machines so u dont have 2 wait. Im happy there.
Love the gym but there is a guy that keeps grunting really loudly when he works out. There is a list of rules for the gym and number 2 is to not make excessive noise while lifting. Staff dont keep me grunt in check! It must be off putting for others too.

The only nicer Golds in the metro is in Yukon. This place is open, friendly and full of options. Wish the kids area had natural light if I could change anything.

Ive been here for a little over a month now and they seem to never fix or replace the broken treadmills or other machines. The employees are friendly and welcoming (at 6 am daily when I go). I dont think they ever pick up the gym ever when its closing time because every morning dumbells are everywhere! Yoga mats not in a particular place, med balls not racked etc. The parking there is horrible! The spaces are so close together that Im pretty sure all my door dings (if any) I have would be from that parking lot. Bathrooms/locker room is pretty well kept and clean. Overall not very impressed for the price of the membership but at least I can go to other (better) golds gyms if I choose.

Based upon the theme of these reviews I am somewhat apprehensive about visiting the NW OKC Golds. In my travels I have had the opportunity to visit several Golds and generally it was a positive experience. It sounds like Ill be rolling the dice on this one.
I moved away and wanted to cancel my membership. The manager, Kurt promised a 2 month free membership. A week later I got a charge! I called and they say I needed to come in and sign for the membership and they will not make any refunds, so thanks for misleading me.
Golds gym has been the most horrible customer service I have ever experienced. From the blatant disrespect by the local management to the rude customer service reps at the 866 number. Quickly, my wife and I had been relocated to the west coast to a location nowhere close to a Golds gym for 5 months. I went through the same process to cancel my account and hers and although mine canceled it was pulling teeth to cancel hers. Please....please avoid this company. Not just this location...so many bad reviews nationwide. Lends to reason why they are not BBB or Consumer Affairs accredited.

Decent gym. Gnats all over the place in the locker room and there’s two squat racks in the entire gym which to me is insane. 10Gym right down the street has 5+ racks. Found ants, spiders, gnats, the whole nine yards in the locker room.
Way over priced just to work out. You actually pay for all the amenities you really dont need and will probably never use.

My experience with these guys have been bad, when i signed up with them i had to sign up for 2 accounts, one for my wife and one for myself instead of just one for the both of us, so instead of having 1 charge i have 2 charges and not only that but the one time i had to come in and ask them to give me a few more days to pay the bill i was told okay and they did something on the computer and said it was all good to go...well they charged me anyway when i had no money in the account and overdrafted me after that i went in to talk with them about it and ask why it happen and was told by another guy that they do not delay payments and he has no idea why someone would tell me that. so later on i had talked to someone about removing my card and they refused and so i asked to cancel my account and was told that it was done and my account was closed..well 3 months later i get hit with 2 charges of $137 so i called to find out why and was told that they cannot verify a verbal conversation and my contract held me to the payment regardless of what i was told and that even if i close my account now my contract is going to make me pay until it ends in may..in the end do not give them your card number or account info or even better just go to 10 gem or some other place

Hi, Golds Gym. Im not typically the type to complain, but Ive had the worst experience with management at the NW Expwy location. I canceled my contract-free membership on 1/1/12, and my bank account has since been charged not one, not two, but three times. Ive made calls, faxed in personal bank statements (which I felt was excessive), and still havent seen a refund. Today, after calling, leaving a number for management, not hearing back, and calling again, I was told that you guys are MAILING me a check. You can charge my account, but you cant issue an automatic refund? Maybe thats true, but its a bad way to treat clients. Im going to be even more livid if you charge my account in May. This is ridiculous. Youre going to lose business treating people this way. Ill never use your gym again, and Ill make sure everyone i know hears how unprofessional, dishonest and inefficient this entire cancellation process has been. Thanks for everything.
I paid for a 3 year membership with a 99 dollar renewal fee. After my three years were up, I went in to renew my contract. Golds said I now have to pay 199 dollars to renew. They said that the renewal fee would have been 150 dollars if we had renewed in the summer instead of December. However, now there was no way Golds payment system could ring up anything other than the 199 dollar price. They also said that the renewal fee would most likely go up 50 dollars each year. This company is nothing but a scam and will not stick with the contract I signed. They tried to bait and switch me. I am switching to a new gym and never going back.
Very poor business practices, very dishonest sales people, and management that tries to intimidate their customers with threats of a contract. What a joke. I was told I could try the gym out and cancel at anytime if for whatever reason it did not work out with no major penalties and of course the story has now changed. I went in twice and it didn’t work out due to the hours and my work schedule so I am canceling my membership and they’re trying to tell me I have to pay for a full year and a half at $80/month for a grand total of close to $1,400. If I have to I’ll be calling an attorney, but I’m not paying $1,400. Good luck Gold’s.
This gym typically works well for my family. We enjoy the cardio cinema and the machines are usually always working. The complaint I have is that the janitorial staff seems to always be cleaning at peak hours. Im talking about mopping the floors. Its hard to use the locker room when you have to step over the girl mopping and try not to slip. Its also awkward because she is unfriendly. She looks like she hates her job and the members while she is mopping the main floor when its packed!
This place is awesome, nice employees, relaxed atmosphere...lots of equipment to choose from and the stair climbers are new and even have fans on them.
My friend invited me to play racquetball during the week they had a promotion in which you could bring your friend for free early this year. When I got there, the guys in the first desk made me sign in (which is fine) and I was sent to talk to the guy that signs new contracts. Apparently he was unaware of the promotion going on, and said I could only get in if I got a contract with them, which was super embarrassing because I didnt want to commit at that point. So after a while trying to convince me, he said I had to pay the day which was about 16 dollars, and since I didnt wanna walk out I paid to be able to play during the bring a friend for free week. The manager called me later saying they were sorry and that they would refund me but I never got that money back. Other than that, during my expensive stay, they were staring at me and talking about the whole situation. The guys in the front desk didnt understand why the other guy made me pay, it was weird, expensive and I felt coerced. Never coming back.
Golds gym I like bc I like the staff and you can go to any golds in Oklahoma City and Edmond. They all offer a little bit of different stuff the one on memorial they have basketball court and multiple punching bags. They also have a swimming pool. I like golds also bc of the yoga classes. If you think that yoga is for whimps think again. Im 47 and being I run marathons and lift weights. Yoga has made the biggest difference in my life bc stretching and doing yoga poses if you stick with it your health will improve tons. Your life will improve. I dont have the injuries or the tightness and my body is balanced. Anyway Im saying at Golds you really can improve if you take there classes and listen and learn its worth the money!
They steal your money and you can’t trust them
I bought some sweat pants there that basically fell apart after a week. When I went to get my $25 refunded, they said they have a 3 day return policy. When I pressed the manager on the reasonableness of that policy under the circumstances, she said shed get back to me and never did. Also, I paid cash for the first month, and they deducted the first months payment from my bank account as well. So Golds Gym has caused some accounting headaches which I dont need. The showers are clean. Thats what I like so far.

Now I recently got laid off due to the oil field and I tried explaining that to them because money is tight. The customer service is worst here in whole america. So i gave my 1 month notice to terminate my membership ; and after a month i got charged on my account. I called them and they were saying that i never cancelled my membership. I cancelled my membership with one of their employee and he said everything is covered . I talked to operational manager and he said no body can cancel membership except him. The guy who was working there was not trained properly so you have to pay for one more month. I asked if thats a common practice to charge customer by fault of your untrained employee and management ? he never admitted that i gave a month notice. So please stay away from them, they will take your hard earned money. Never going back and will never recommend to anyone.

The sales person(Sabrin abu seir) is super pushy and rude. She first told me that to add someone to my account would only be 19 something dollars. Great. awesome. I had been going for about a 2 days and wanted to add someone.... Well yeah thats when things turned for the dark. She said I could add him for 39 dollars.... thats a 20 dollar difference. So of course I asked about it and she started shaking and and accusing me of calling her a liar. This girl is a scam artist, and I have never never been treated like this. There are cheaper places that arent going to try to scam you! Please go some where else.

I called them and Im in town for 30 days. they want 50.00 a week (REALLY) 200.00 a month. then she offered a 3 month membership. Im in town for 30 days. Think about the money your losing from all the Federal employees your losing out on GOLDs they come for training year round.

The steam is not working, it is broken and they have not fixed it for many weeks. we pay for it in monthly dues. They do not care.
These people are scammers and pathetic. This includes their female manager. They fraudulently altered a contract for one of my coworkers. Their rating is well deserved. Maybe their corporate office will do something about the people they employ and it will change but who knows.
Customers talk on there cell phones and are not interested in sharing equipment that all you do is move a pin this is not there office they do not look as important as they think they are
Update: After years loyal attendance, when I tried to pay my annual contract amount, the NEW general manager informed me that I would need to pay $100 more this year. I told her that I had a lifetime contract for a specific amount per year through aspen that they assumed when they bought out their contracts, she just went through a list of talking points. When I asked for the contact information to speak with the regional mamager above her, she got offeneded and then became disrespectful. She refused to provide me with the contact information I requested and said I would have to deal with her. Thank goodness I have a second membership at 10gym, they have much better hours and have recently updated the entire gym and it far exceeds the equipment offered at Golds NW Expressway. I had fully planned to keep both memberships because I have built a good report with the staff and other patrons at this location of Golds Gym, but due to the actions of the new general manager I decided to walk away and just keep my 10Gym membership. In an attempt to extort more money from me, she essentially lost a long time paying customer. It saddens me to have to leave all of the great peiple I came to know but rest assured i plan to convert as many people as possible from Golds to 10gym. 1. Because 10Gym has better hours. 2. Better management staff and 3. Nicer equipmemt since the redesign.If you are thinking about a gym membership, I highly encourage you to stop in at 10 Gym on NW Expressway before signing any contracts. The staff at both places are amazing, but there is a clear difference in company imtegrity. Then do whats best for you after having seen both places.

The Gym environment is amazing, but very poor customer services- GG charged $1.90 for no reason on my CC. and blames that my 14 yrs old daughter has buy something at the gym with the membership card everytime when theyre scan. My question is how is that possible. And the receptionist ive spoke on the phone, her attitude is very poor and not helping at all, very high raised voices. The facts is $1.90 is not a big issue here. The point is -why are you charging and not have a clear explanation why?
I am usually not one to complain. However this Golds Gym location (NW EXPRESSWAY) represents the entire company so baddly. I used to have a membership and work out in Edmond. I loved my experience at the Danforth location. However that is no longer convenient for me. So I went to the NW Expressway location to sign up my fiancé as a gift. Heres where it gets shady... While signing my fiancé up I inquired on how much it would cost to add me on as a family plan and was told by the sales manager (Sabrin Abu Seir) who was processing my fiancés membership (which has all incorrect information for address and billing info) that it would only cost me about $20 more per month for the add on with no enrollment fee, also that I had 3 days to decide... Well today is day 3 and I caved in and decided to go ahead and add myself. Upon trying to do so I was told by Sabrin Abu Seir (the same person who signed my fiancé up) that it would cost me $39. I politely confronted her and had my fiancé (who was there with me when I set up and paid for the gift membership) come up to the desk to ensure I had not misheard her. He confirmed and she immediately got defensive and started shaking. She then proceeded to humiliate me and my fiancé in front of several people by raising her voice and stating she has been doing this for years . I personally worked in the exact same type of business industry for over 7 years so I know procedures for these club environments. It is not to humiliate a customer. I am not even a member and we were treated this way, which is unacceptable. I will be moving forward with corporate complaints in regards to this as I see this location already has received a very low rating here. As well as complaints about the same person as it is. Please head my warning (I am not saying dont consider working out with Golds, I loved my Edmond experience) just find another location to sign up at. They are losing a potential member (me) and 2 current members (fiancé and work out partner) as this type of customer service and inconsistent information does not deserve our hard earned money and wont be tolerated.
