I have a medical condition and I can not wear a mask because I can not breath. The front desk girl screamed, followed and harassed me. She took pics and told me that I’m not allow to come to the gym anymore while I was working out. She even followed me to the men’s locker room and turn of the lights. Very creepy !!

Normally a great facility. Was originally 4 out of 5 bc of hours. They removed significant portion of weight lifting equipment that would be considered critical for weight lifting experience last December of 2019. Almost seems like person who redesigned has never weight lifted.

This place is clean and safeThe staff is very welcoming and proThere is a very big selection of classes you can attend for free once you are a memberPeople who attend this place seems to be from downtown so expect some heavy middle class vibeParkingThere is a dedicated parking lot and a drop off zone almost in front of the entrance of the facilitySwimming Pool5 lanes pool that is most of the time pretty empty and it is always supervised. The water is always clean and the pool is long enough to get some good work outThere is a SPA in the swimming pool section of the facility, it is clean and it is the perfect activity to end up a work out session.Work out StationsEnough Weightlifting equipment and treadmill machines to get just enough work out to stay in shape. They are in good condition.Showers & Locker Room & SaunaThe showers are clean and in good shape. There is a sauna room but it not working right now because some dudes were spending to much time in it (seriously). There is also a studio where you can get yoga classes but I haven’t done that yet.

Very small but very clean gym in downtown Oklahoma City. Parking is convenient either on the street or in the parking lot across the street.Locker rooms are large and clean enough to be acceptable. There is a pool - though I can’t speak to the quality of the pool, it looks large and it is often in use.The weight/cardio area is very cramped with equipment that is aging poorly. Not ideal for a high-level workout, but it will do in a pinch. Lack of a proper stretching area and a few key machines take this Y down a notch but it is overall an acceptable gym for the area.

This is your regular young mens Christian Association type of organization. You can swim, play basketball, lift weights, get a massage, its a great place to go if you want to exercise and have a little bit of company while you do it. I always enjoy going to the Y, because I know Im going to have a good time. I think you will do.

I am traveling on business and have been a member of the Y at home and was able to work out for free. The staff was friendly and overall, the gym is nice. There is a lot of cardio equipment. The weight area is tight but serviceable. While I didnt go into the locker room, the gym appeared clean and there was someone wiping down equipment while I was there. Overall, a very nice facility.

I have been going to the YMCA Downtown OKC for at least 10 years. They have a great variety of classes with great instructors. The group exercise classes make it easier for me to keep my goals. The pool is always supervised and the hot tub is a good way to decompress. It has ample space for weights and equipment. I highly recommend this place.

Overall a great gym with clean facilities and helpful staff. Convenient location downtown, quick turnaround on machine repair, and a clean lap pool. Wide variety of patrons- all ages and sizes. My only complaints are the hours of operation- Ive never been to a YMCA that had such limited hours on nights and weekends- and that the weight room is very small, and many of the free weights are in poor condition and should be replaced.

I used to work here. I used to work out here(avidly). It saddens me to see how some things have been left unnoticed or ignored. The mens locker room is absolutely disgusting. The behavior of men who use the facility is completely appalling. Not everyone is a slob; however, little is done to maintain a clean and sanitized locker room. On two occasions, I contracted ring worm( tinea). I spoke with other members and they also developed some form of fungus or skin rash.

I grew up playing basketball at the Y. So, Ive had a 35 year relationship of fitness with the YMCA and I just cant do it anymore. Everyday at the downtown Y, I have to look over the equipment before my workout and see if it works to plan my routine. Is the hot tub broken today? Sauna? Is that same elliptical still not fixed? They use to have comment cards to write to management. They dont do that anymore. As a business owner myself, I wouldnt put out comment cards either anymore when I know Im not taking money out of my budget to fix it. Replies from management were always excuses and never action.Part of my routine is hours of swimming. The chlorine content is so extremely high, my eyes still are burning when I try and go to bed. When the hot tub was recently broken for 3 weeks, the jets wouldnt work. But, they let us still sit in it. I have a hot tub of water at home (bathtub).Even the employees talk about it being bad. A employee talked with 4 of us about everything with management and whats going on.They say its Christian and Family Values. Oh gosh. There was a sign outside the sauna for awhile saying No touching each other. So, being a homosexual hook up spot there are many women/men in the locker room that revoked their memberships. There use to be a lot of people working out at the Y, but the numbers seem to diminish every year.I took a tour of another gym yesterday and it was the most amazing place Id seen in a while. It felt like I discovered a new planet. The guy giving me a tour showed me 2 pools, one with 21 lanes. I asked when there safety breaks are in the pools? He asked me what that was. I told him and he smiled. So, after connecting the dots, I now know its really not about safety. If you are going to cut costs and only hire one lifeguard, by state law they have to have a break. So, every time over the years we get kicked out of the pool and our exercise routine interrupted, it for a employee break. It has nothing to do with safety. The day I cancelled my member ship, they didnt even ask me why or want to talk about it. They didnt even explain anything. They know why. All the employees know. I asked when my cancellation would be effective. He said, Immediately, right now. He said nothing else or even bye and I walked out the door.YMCA Management: Please do something to salvage the YMCA. It was a great place back in the day.

Good facilities, good location in downtown and friendly staff. But there is a lot of sexual activity at the adult male showers. Ive complained at the front desk and emailed the manager but still happens.A lot of guys uses it as a place to cruise and hook up. I personally have told people to take it somewhere and reported them at the front desk.It is annoying not being able to use the services because other people are busy.I am a gay person, and definitely find this very inappropriate, specially when its supposed to be a family oriented facility. What annoys me the most is the lack of response from management to prevent this from happening.

This is the 5th Ymca I have joined. This is the worse and I went for first time today. I joined cause of the pool over anytime fitness, and spin class.I observed the spin class for a moment and no energy in there, so we will see how it goes when I do a class.Pool situation is a joke, only one lane after 6 for laps, and exercise class is taking over 3 lanes. Which is is cool, they could give a second lane up and not at 715pm.Then I looked at calendar and they seem to give up whole pool for swim team on Tuesday and Thursdays during prime time. not cool!Looks like they only do lap swim 4 to 6, that sucks for workers.Weight room equipment is very unimpressive, also a lot guys hanging out using phones taking up equipment, they need a marshall. Devon should be embarrassed sponsoring that.
