Really like that they take appointments now. Curt is my go to person. Have been going to OBS for 45 years. Ive had 3 different barbers! It is a barber shop. No apologies.

Great barbers/stylists all; they work hard to make sure you get the cut & look you want and go out of their way to help you get it at a convenient time.

Recently moved to Lansing area and tried a few barbershops. Not impressed!Looked on Internet and found Okemos Barber Shop and gave it a try. Wonderful! Got a great haircut from friendly, talented barbers. (wife says Best haircut you ever got!)They took care of me on a walk-in basis, even though they normally require appointments. You can be sure that Ill be making one in about 5 weeks.

Have been going here for years. Always good service and conversation. Due to Covid they have been requiring appointments which is fine. When I called to make one I was told by my barber that he was not vaccinated and would not wear a mask. He knows I have MS and yet he cut my hair a month or so ago with an appointment but without a mask and without telling me he was unvaccinated. Even though I am fully vaccinated the Delta variant puts me at higher risk. It is unconscionable that he treated me without a warning. Dr. Jon Robison

Always friendly, great haircuts. I have been going there for years now. Have had at least one haircut by everyone that works there. Also have had a straight razor shave. Fantastic place with a classic barbershop atmosphere.

Pros:Good environment.Cons:Cash only.I got charged $12 first time and $17 (2 weeks later) second time. Still give good tip but I suggest asking what they charge you before you sit down on the chair.First haircut quality and second haircut quality differ quite a bit with the same person (for privacy I wont say the name).

Small town charm, staff is very friendly, I always walk out satisfied with their work! Cheap price for a good haircut and straight razor line up!

This is a real deal barbershop. Its like you see on tv, the barbers know everyone, and are super friendly. Closed Monday, like all the old barbershop used to be.

I went here today, and I am very disappointed in their service and I do not trust some of these reviews. The lady who did my haircut did not clean the cape/bib that goes on, so I had hair that came from her last customer all over myself. I also did not see her clean the clippers that she used to cut my hair. Also, I asked for a faded high and tight look. In the barbershop, the lighting makes it difficult to see how good of a job she did, but when I got home i realized it was not faded, and it certainly was not evenly cut. It does not look good from behind or the sides. I basically look like a fool now. I wanted a decent haircut because I am going to a military ball this weekend, but now I will have to try and find a place that will dfix the problem that this barber created. It does seem like the other barbers in this place were friends with all of the customers which was nice to see, but I can’t say anything about how good of a job they can do, except that they probably follow the same “cleaning “ drill.
