This was by far the best experience Ive had in Oceanside. Its the girls job and they take their jobs very seriously. They take their time and are EXTREMELY thorough and PROFESSIONAL. They take the time to get to know you and you can tell they care about the results. I have found my permanent permanent nail salon. I recommend you to make an appointment in advance. They are very knowledgeable and helpful with your selection. I will never go anywhere else when coming to Oceanside.

Took my wife ere to get her nails done me they were very unprofessional. Two employees including the my wife’s nail tech tried fighting while they were doing my wife’s nails. The nails look very rushed and ugly and my wife is very unhappy with the shape and the way the polish was painted. The shape of her nails are lumpy, and there’s glue left over on her fingers.

Got a gel manicure that started to peel off the next day. Called to let stylist know and she said come on in and shed fix it. When I went in she said it probably happened because my hands are greasy. My hands are not. I realized when she was redoing them that she never put the base coat on prior to putting on the color at the previous visit. I told her this politely and asked if thats why they peeled. She immediately got defensive and said shed never do that. The two go hand in hand. Its now barely been a week since getting them redone and they are already chipping.

Save your time, these are all fake reviews. I made an appointment for dip powder mani. I came in 15-20 minutes early. The technician wasn’t there. Instead I got a pedicure until she finally came in 1 hour later! I am then told she can’t do the design I asked for (see below) and the owner insists I do gel instead. (They had a very small selection of dip powders to choose from) If you can’t do what I asked that’s fine, but I won’t be pressured into having something done or paying for something I don’t want. Very nice ladies, but not the service I hoped or was looking for. Especially with over 300 5 star reviews!!

It has been several years since I have last visited a nail salon. I was unsure where to go and after reading the reviews for Design Hair, Nails I figure I would try this shop. I am so glad I did. Marry was very kind and patient with me. She explained what the options were available and the differences with the gel polish and other finishes. Also explained how applying a light acrylic over my natural nails would help protect them from breaking. I went here about 2 weeks ago and got a pedicure. A woman named Mai did my pedicure and she was awesome. She took her time and didn’t rush, she also gave me an amazing message.

Don’t waste Your time unless you check the prices out first. And it’s not even about the prices if I would’ve known in advance and I was treated like $100 Phil. But it was terrible. And it’s a French manicure and you can see the previous fill before! Another big issue was the price I paid for the service. It was over $100 just for a fill? Crazy! And then the pedicure which was the worst I’ve ever had was $60! If I’m gonna pay that much I expect the ultimate service. It was terrible and for the massage portion of the pedicure the person tried to use a Handheld electrical massage tool. It was so painful I asked her to stop and use her hands! Last time I will ever go there again!

Easy, effective and good price. We called during lunch nearby and made an appointment for a day. I have a basic mani and my daughter did gel nails. Both are great. The women working here are conscious of their work, the shop is clean and comfortable, and we have been in and out in less than 30 minutes. Very pleased.

This was the worst pedicure Ive ever had! Anna did my husband and even he said he was bad... She took my gel polish off but didnt clean the old color out if the corners. She didnt clean my cuticle and the polish was a mess... Im going to try to share pictures of my pink toes. I called back and I told Anna I was sorry but Ill be leaving a bad review. She offered to do it over but its not even worth the trip.

The two ladies who run this nail salon did lovely work! Fun to chat with as well. If I was local, I would visit this salon again. Upbeat and enjoyable. We did wait a little while for our unscheduled Mani/Pedi. So I would keep that in mind if they have a busy day.

I love to go here This is the first nail spa I found can really apply and remove shellac properly and my Shellac lasts up to 3 weeks! The stores I used to be tired of were terrible jobs and Shellac started chipping in the first week. Hope to do a great job at toenails and make sure you have smooth feet and beautiful nails! She has also made my Shellac nails recently, which I love! I would also recommend Van! She is also great and often does nails for me. I introduced a lot of my friends here and they were extremely happy, I love this place

I had really high hopes since all of the pictures on Google are stunning. I had a nailtech who must have been newer, she did not file enough or cross check to make sure the nails all had the same shape. They are pretty jagged and some are crooked and theyre not even. She didnt get off all of my old black polish and the color did not cover after 3 coats and I asked to please use a darker color but she added another coat and it did nothing. I wanted a black French tip with design but she struggled to get an even tip so I just left how they were. It was almost 2 and a half hours and was very stressful. The owner did give a discount but I wish she would have fixed them up herself so I didnt have to do the work myself when I got home.

First of all the items they use are not brand new. Second the lady pushing back my cuticles hurt my fingers and my toes. She kept tripping over the wires for the nail dryer. She didnt give me the pamphlet until she was done with my nails and said it cost $100.00. Yes, I did not ask either, I was emotionally tired grieving from loss in our family. This would not be on my recommendation list. I am not happy with the way my nails looked for $100.

Very pricey and not great quality look to the pedicure

I can not believe I spent $130 on just a manicure and pedicure with gel polish just for it to peel off the next day. I took a shower looked down and I could raise the gel polish up off my finger. How ridiculous. Never again will I ever spend that much on my nails especially at a place like that. My experience there was awful I repeated myself 13 times about the color I wanted. While doing pedicure she reached into a ziplock labeled trash on it to reuse a scrub brush which collects dead skin on 🤢 I thought it turned out OK so no biggie but the next day its coming off. My friend was also getting hers done and the lady reused a glove used on last person. Very unsanitary.

My nails were not shaped correctly and they were just fills and she didn’t paint my nails good or all the way. Some nails has spots missing and others my skin was painted over. She was so messy and slow.

I’m sorry but this place is not good. I’ve had bad nail experiences here and there but this one takes the cake. The lady who did my nails was extremely friendly it this were based on her id say 5 stars. However, my nails came out horrible and I felt really bad because the owner was kinda yelling at her in Vietnamese seemed she wanted her to hurry so she could help others coming in. she did not seem like a nice person and I didn’t want to make it worse by being an unhappy customer. The shop was really clean and very nicely decorated so I thought it would be a great place, I was wrong. Also, they push dip which they charge $70 for, yes $70 plus a surcharge of $15 for the gel they used. That was $85 for a terrible set of nails. I would not Mind paying good money for quality nails, but they need to really work on the quality of skill. I would say do not go to this shop and try any other shop in Oceanside first. Do not waste you money here at all. Also I am pretty sure all the positive reviews are fake! My nails look horrible

These women took especially great care of me while visiting Design Hair, Nails & Spa. The manicurist was so sweet and attentive to detail, she spent so long with me and was so sweet and personable! I highly recommend The space is luxurious and relaxing. I didnt have to wait at all, just walked in for a manicure, then ended up changing my color and the shape of my Natural ombre coffin shape and they had no problem adding on the extra time and service without making me wait at all! Ive never really had a bad experience getting my nails done till I went here. Literally all of my nails were crooked and they are all sheer. I asked for an ombre effect with nude and white and they gave me two sets of white. Me and my mom and sister went and I had to secretly text them to not get their nails done because it was so bad. They charged me $80 for clear nails with bubbles all over them that curve so much to the side that they look like slides. Im not a confrontational person so I paid and left. Sadly wont be coming back.

I finally found an amazing place to get my nails done. Ive looked everywhere to go where they arent lazy, they dont rush, or hurt you with the tools when doing acrylics. The nails dont come out so thick or chunky looking and they last as long as they should. I love this place and its all at good prices. :)

I was so excited to find a nail salon open that I didn’t ask about price. I got a pedicure with gel & manicure with dip. I had a hard time understanding what the nail tech was saying. They said my nails would last a month. The mani lasted 1 week and started cracking & chipping. They charged me $130 plus tip. Extremely disappointed & felt taken advantage of.

Both my mother, wife, and each daughter have used them. They did an awesome job on their stiletto full set nails and gave each of them the best pedicures theyve ever had. They were friendly. All technicians were detail-oriented and did an excellent job. Their pedicures are still immaculate, even after walking around all day in socks and shoes. The color selection was great. We were only in the area for awhile but will return again. Definitely recommend to anyone looking to get quality, friendly service. Thanks again for doing such a great job for us!

It took me two hours to get a fill here and cost $60. I repeatedly asked the nail tech to do a specific shape and she wouldn’t file them into the shape I asked for, I even showed reference pictures. My gel polish started to chip just three days after I got them done. Waste of time and money, very disappointed with my experience here.

I have been to Design Hair, Nails & Spa for about 2 years now and I refuse to go anywhere else. I can give a picture of what I want and they do it even better! When Im not sure what I want their creativity to be lost and Im never disappointed. Their salon are extremely clean. I went here a few weeks ago because of the good reviews. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. I felt they were overpriced. $75 for a basic pedicure and gel manicure. The pedicurist did not ask how I would like my nails shaped. She left them very squared and sharp at the corners. The manicurist removes my existing gel with the electric file instead of soaking the gel off. When I said said something she assured me they would still be very strong. She also did not ask how I would like them shaped. She filed them very rounded in contrast to the very square shape the other lady did with my toenails. I actually like them square with rounded corners, if they would have asked. My gel nails chipped within 3 days and I had to file my very sharp toenails. I did like the selection of matching gel nail polish to regular nail polish but still won’t be returning.

I love this place! Hope is so good at what she does. I really love that they are open until midnight.. I’m able to go after work and get my nails done.

How does this place have nearly 5 stars? This place looked old and dirty that I’m almost left. I should have left because as I sat down to get my pedicure I noticed how dirty things were. Tools were in the carts with people’s dead skin on them!!! Where is the health department? Yes, she only picked out what seem to be the clean tools (hoping they were) but still why leave the dirty tools in the cart? I was the first one in so you know it had to be from the day before. I couldn’t wait to leave. Not to mention that the pedicure was probably the worse one I have ever had. The nail polish isn’t smooth and there is paint on my toes not just the nail. I think my 6-year old niece could have done a better job. This place just needs to close or get better management.

Horrible! Went here for a pedicure and an eyebrow wax. My nails look like a toddler did them. There’s paint all over my cuticles and my nails are way too short. She waxed half my eyebrow off and when I confronted her about it she told me I didn’t have hair there to begin with. There’s no licenses displayed on the wall either. They charged me $70 for very poor services and would not give me a receipt when I asked for it. Never go here!

Design Hair, Nails & Spa was not only the best location, they were also the only full service hair, nail and facial waxing salon that stays open late and Im so glad! I came in and they took me right away. Its clean and I felt right at home. The owner Hope is super fun and friendly and Kim did a great job on my toes and nails...and it had been a long time since any one had paid any attention to those things and they look great! I will definitely be back again & couldnt be happier! Highly recommend.

She saw I had early stages of fungus infection from other salons and spent over an hour cleaning my feet and callus giving me advice. So I just got done with seeing Rose and let me just say it was amazing ! Aside from the fact that this was literally the only place open in Oceanside on a Sunday after 5 PM, Rose made it even better. She was very patient and took her time with everything and actually asked me for feedback and let me know that it was OK to tell her if anything was wrong . Needless to say I really liked that because many places I have gone to don’t like it when you tell them you don’t like something and immediately give you a nasty attitude. Not Rose! She was great we had some nice conversations and i really love the color i choose. It was a little more expensive then I thought it would be but I guess I should have asked ahead of time. Over all i have no complaints and i am definitely coming back!

Gabby did an amazing job on my nails! She was very detailed and was a pleasure to talk with. I was excited to give her a big tip, but was shocked to see that she charged me $20 MORE than usual. I tried explaining that I’ve never been charged that much for the same service, and I would much rather give her that extra amount as a tip instead. But she wouldn’t budge on her pricing. I really wanted to tip her for her great work, but I’m sorry, I can’t afford to tip after already being charged $20 more. (Charging more does not mean bigger tip)

Best pedicure I have ever had! They dug into my toe nails really well, more so then any place I have ever been to. Hope warned me about nail fungi I wasn’t aware of and gave me tips on how to treat it. I will definately be back!

Horrible! Over priced, not sanitary, no licenses on the wall, refused to give me my money back, refused to give me a receipt, they left wax in my eyebrow and they waxed half of my sisters eyebrow off! DO NOT GO THERE
