Loved going there. Went to rent a rod for the week and they easily could have just ripped me off and rented me a rod but told me to buy a cheaper one instead because the price to rent would exceed the buy price after 2-3 days. I’m very happy and will be returning often when we’re down here for my fishing needs.

We went here twice this week. Once to rent bay fishing rods and once to rent surf rods. Both times the person at the counter went out of their way to help us. The gentlemen who helped us with the surf rods gave us a lot of advice and we wound up catching a few fish which made my son Extremely happy. Would recommend this place to anyone! Usually go to a different bait shop and when we arrived they were closed even though their hours online said they were open. I asked someone that worked on a boat near the other shop on bay near 2-3rd street and they referred my husband and I to FIN-ATICS! Very easy to find and it’s a very nice shop! The two gentlemen behind the counter were ready to help us in anyway we needed. Very polite and informative. I would refer FIN-ATICS To any and everyone in need of anything from live bait to types of gear. I’m so glad the other shop wound up to be closed and we discovered FIN-ATICS! Spent 98.00 in lures, weights, and bait, i asked if i can put the minnows in my own bait bucket and asked for a little bit of water, the salesman shook his head and said no, they will be fine in the packed styrofoam container, i arrived at my destination and every single minnow was dead....bad customer service

The best rod rental spot!! Owner was very helpful and kind. Rental was super quick and easy, and reasonably priced. Nick was also a great resource for the *hot* fishing places and additional information, particularly about ensuring we had our salt water registry documentation that you evidently need to have in order to fish in salt water now. Its free, but necessary or else you could possibly wind up with a hefty fine if the game warden comes around. Highly recommended coming here for your fishing needs!

Horrible customer service. They dont stand behind their products. Bought a $50 rod and it broke within an hour. They wouldnt even do an exchange. Plenty of other places to buy your fishing equipment. Dont waste your time or money. They have no quality products. BUYERS BEWARE!!! HORRENDOUS customer service.

All the gear is here. The staff was also knowledgeable and generous with their time. Memorial Day weekend family trip to OCNJ, 2019. Perhaps the busiest time of the year. Ed and Thomas were easy and present with us through the hustle, lending us tips for fishing spots and gear, and fixing our tangled line on the spot.

These guys know everything and they dont mind sharing their knowledge! They treat everyone well from the rookie day fisher to the seasoned pro. Great selection of gear, tackle and bait, and reasonable pricing.

Nice staff, clean, well stocked, handicap accessible, parking in the front. Bait vending machine for off hours. Felt it was a little pricey for frozen fish but youre a captive audience.

We were so impressed by the customer service and advice given by the staff. The love for all things fishing was contagious. The atmosphere was welcoming (we are lady anglers). We rented rods and purchased the tackle recommended. There was no upselling or pressure. The recommendation for blood worms was the ticket (mid August). We caught spots and a kingfish on 18th street beach. What great memories with nieces and nephews. If you are even thinking about fishing on vacation, just do it! Fin-atics has got you covered.

Unprofessional rude counter person asked questions about fishing report and where people are catching fish. Counter guy (old guy white beard, in need of daily budweiser fix) replies with smart a@# comments in return condescending tone of voice doesnt care about your business and doesnt like tourist attitude. I dont understand why you work in customer service if you hate people so much. Asked where the best chances of catching fish and repeats the same thing he said before about the fishing report than suggests for me to walk down to some fish market and tell them what fish I want to catch and ask them to throw it at me. Than tells me that the act of catching is the by product of something else. Listen I get it dude its August its late in the season and youve been probably asked the same questions everyday, but thats part of the job. Thanks for being a j-off and ruining any future business youll ever get from me and hopefully anyone else that reads this. Go to another tackle shop they all sell the same bait most likely without the attitude.
