Omg. It is certainly different than my time. Its very modern, nice, clean and a gorgeous view. Its expensive but worth every penny.
This is quite possibly one of the worst places I have ever lived. Dont get me wrong for a college dorm it is insanely nice but the apartments are overpriced the management isnt very helpful and the majority of the RAs have a really bad attitude. I paid 1500 a month for a 300 square foot studio. During covid all the amenities besides the laundry room were not available to use but the rent still remained the same. I have had over 400 dollars worth of clothes stolen and or damaged while I was there and was told by management that there was nothing they could do about it. I had a student pour bleach all over my belongings when I moved her clothes out of the washer after her cycle was completed. It gave me a chemical rash and caused my boyfriend at the time to cough up blood and was told by management there was nothing they could do about it. They sold my room not once but twice without my knowledge and forced me to relocate within the building only giving me a week to move my things. The list goes on and on when it comes to this place. The only reason Im giving this a 2 star is because of Derrick the maintenance man. He was always so great and kind and helpful. I really dont think his employers give him enough credit because he truly is a star employee. He really was the only person who made my time at bayview tolerable. Shout out to Derrick, thank you for everything!
DO NOT LIVE HERE . THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU.By far the worst leasing office staff. They genuinely do not care about anything but getting their rent. I had paid my rent in full multiple times and they still keep holds on my account saying I havent paid it. I was not even able to register for spring classes because of the continuous holds, WHICH I HAD ALREADY PAID.Horrible communication skills and the walls are super thin in the building. Its a beautiful view but it is not worth the cost mentally and financially.
The service at Bayview is wonderful. Honestly, I find that James was helpful and welcoming and Derrick in the maintenance staff is attentive and responds quickly to order requests. Those 2 have contributed a lot to my baylife experience
Didnt even get a chance to live here to know I never will want to. Was going to be staying here during the fall semester. Then Covid happened. Tried to cancel my lease a month before it started because of covid but could never get a response back until the lease started and was fined 250$. Spring semester is starting and for some reason they signed me up for a 4800$ bill for the semester?!?! didnt sign one thing that had me agree to live there then. No response back from the people in charge and its over a week now trying to get ahold of someone to resolve why they are charging me to live here during the spring semester when I dont have any intentions to.... Save yourself the headache and do not house with this apartment. The management is near impossible to get ahold of.
Dont believe the hype. This is the worst place to live. Ever. EVER. There are virtually no amenities. You dont even get a freaking oven. You heard me right. You have a stove top, but there is no oven! No oven!!! What place doesnt have a freaking oven??? They have one downstairs on the first floor in the community room, but no one is allowed to use it. Its there for no reason whatsoever. There is a pool, but its been closed the entire fall semester, and they continuously close it down for maintenance so you cant use it most of the time. Theres also no hot tub. This place is a colossal waste of money. Property management will lie to you about everything. They have signs that say live where you learn and sleep in later by living on campus and being close to your classes. Most of your classes will be on the other FIU campus so youll be stuck taking the bus every day back and forth. So in essence, youre going to be getting up extremely early every morning. There is no roommate matching. Your roommates will be filthy, smoke indoors, leave the place like a dump, and management will just laugh at you if you come to them. So many people smoke indoors. My place has Ash all over like I live in a 20th century Smokehouse. Pets arent allowed but everyone has a dog so if you have allergies good luck to you. There has been dog pee on the floor and Ive even seen dog poop in the corner one time right on the floor. I added pictures of what I hope is dog pee on the stairs. It has been there for several days. They have not cleaned it up yet. There is literally dog pee everywhere.Seriously. Dont make the mistake of living here. Either live on the main campus, or find a private living place nearby.
Terrific Staff who are very respectful, kind, communicative, and outstanding in their service. Ms. Kristie Zapata and her staff work do an outstanding job and work diligently to keep this bldg. running efficiently. I highly recommend it.
I have lived at Bayview since it began and the only thing I don’t like is the prices but it’s business, that’s something people have to understand, but during my experience I have always felt helped and welcomed by staff, even maintenance staff . Furthermore, I do want to shed light on a particular individual, Kristie Zapata, who has been more than helpful to me even before her position now. Helped me mediate roommate dissagreements, helped me organize fundraising for my school involvements, helped me organize myself financially and served me as like a counselor/ advisor. Her presence just makes you want to tell her everything that’s going on because she’s just that type of joyful, honest soul you need to feel better . She is fair in all her decisions and really works hard to help students .So I don’t even see Kristie as a building manager, she’s more like a respected friend . It hurts to see comments about her being unresponsive, negligent, and unorganized because if you get to know her, she’s nothing like that at all . So hopefully you all keep her on as long as possible because she is an amazing addition to the campus and has been a milestone in my personal life that I’ll cherish as I move on .
Living at Bayview has been an awesome experience, management is professional, reliable and dedicated to all resident. The amenities are luxurious, great views and clean. I give 5 stars!
Really bad communication skills, they don’t care about their residents and I had things in my room that ended up missing, overall really bad experience.
This is a great place to commute with friends and walk across to the best campus at BBC. The many things like the pool, the gym, the study lounges and many activities that Bayview offers makes the experience of living amazing. If you are considering moving in it’s a must! You will enjoy your time there no matter how long you stay!
So far, the leasing office of this University housing has been nothing but helpful and had amazing communication. I have been in contact with them since the beginning of June this year in regards to switching from a 4 bedroom to a 2 bedroom, requesting early move-in, cancelling the early move-in, and making sure I was in the right placing for my specific room. To say I was a headache, is an understatement hahaha! Regardless, Lajayah and Kristie have been very easy to work with! My boyfriend also lived in this housing last year and it was maintained very well year round. The hallways always smelled nice and were free of any trash. I definitely recommend looking into this apartment/dorm!
To be honest, I regret reviewing my lease last semester. This place is not what it seems to be. Yes its nice and some what peaceful, but the prices that we are paying for is ridiculous. When I first signed my lease the price was $899 in 2016, before it was time to move in I hade to sign another lease and the price went up. I signed it because I did not have a place to go in the short length of time. Each year the price will keep going up. There is no hot water, no oven, we cant even have a toaster oven in our apartment. Why tell us that we will be roommate matched when its a lie. The front desk residents always have attitudes with people, and management is horrible, they never respond to any emails. Good Luck to who ever want to move in. I will be happy when I leave this place!
Im an old resident but here was my experience: DONT renew or move here unless you know for SURE you are compatible with your roommate(s)! Your lease is expensive and last for a YEAR- not a semester. I was unfortunate enough to be stuck with a terrible roommate. No matter how many written emails and visits my other (2) roommates and I did to discuss the situation, nothing was resolved. All the management team did was have a contract where we put our house rules even though the awful roommate NEVER fulfill her end of the bargain. They did not rearrange the roommate or give any consequences to the troublemaker. Instead, the Bayview management team kept having us in a vicious cycle of roommate meetings and personal meetings that has no real conclusion. If you want to move out and have a different set of roommates, you have to pay a fee to escape Dantes Inferno. If you tattle on the female incarnation of Satan whenever she smokes weed indoors, host unwarranted guests who overstays and has unlicensed animals in the room, the staff wont do much except tell your guilty roommate to stop what they are doing. Heck, the staff wont even offer a slap on the wrist! The staff are either a hit or miss depending on the person- youll know once you keep talking to them. Some of them know what they are doing and others, not so much. The manager, Kristie, is your best bet in having most of your situations resolved and answered- come to her as a last resort since she has a busy schedule. An issue with the laundry room is it doesnt refund your money when some half-wit kept opening your laundry dryer during mid cycle. I had an incident where someone kept opening my occupied dryer 3 times in a row! This is frustrating for broke students where every dollar counts, in addition of having to pay Bayviews rent.Everything else is fine: the maintenance workers are prompt, the showers temperatures work and the view is great. The little events hosted in Bayview is cute and a great way to socialize. Yes it would be nice of them to have an oven available to the residence but theres not much you can do except bring your own portable oven. Also, bring your own amenities since all youre really paying for is a roof over your head and a bed in your private bedroom. Every shared living room has a large refrigerator, a couch, a table, and a pantry.Honestly, Bayview deserves 2.8 stars out of 5 in my opinion. Ive rounded up to 3 stars because Bayview has room for improvement. They lost that many stars because of the laundry and roommate management. For the price I paid to lived on that property, I was really disappointed on how they handle the roommate dilemma which is why I weighed that department heavier since I had to see Satan Jr. for a year in a hell that Im forced to label as home.
Every Email need to be followed-up. EVERY SINGLE ONE. If you could have your issue done within ONE MONTH, you are a very lucky guy. The communication within the management team is really difficult.
The best ever. This is far most the best experience I’ve ever encountered!
This is my first year at Bayview, and honestly, it’s been the best year ever. Everyone that lives at Bayview is incredibly nice. The maitnence staff is so pleasant and kind. And our manager Kristie Zapata is honestly the best. She’s so forthcoming and you can tell you truly cares about her residents. Anytime I would come to her with a problem, she’d stop whatever she was doing and attend to my needs on the spot, and she’ll break everything down the easiest way possible. Every time I leave her office, I leave there satisfied. She’s never been rude or unprofessional at all. And she’s a Beyoncé fan just like me! Daniella Garcia has also been super friendly. The rent is definitely not cheap, however, the amenities that are included are nice and the building is fairly clean. I’ve never had a pest or bug issue since living here and I’m impressed. My only complaint is the laundry situation. You have to pay for laundry here, and sometimes the pay machine is broken, and therefore you can’t do your laundry. It’s a bit of an inconvenience, but it’s nothing too serious. This campus is a pleasant one. It’s smaller than MMC, so it’s very quiet and not really a “party” campus at all. The beach is essentially your backyard. All in all, living here has been fabulous so far. Thanks Bayview! ❤️
Pretty good place, my year here has had its ups and downs but management is willing to go the extra mile if you work with them. Im returning for a second year here if that says anything.
Dont get me wrong the apartment/scenery is BEAUTIFUL but the management here is HORRIBLE. Kristie Kzapata and Daniela Garcia never reply back to urgent emails in regards to payments. If youre deciding to stay here, please look over your statements and be aware of what they charge you. Another downside is the raccoons that come out at night. Ew!
I would not recommend this place. Unless you enjoy cold showers and terrible staff, go for it.Nice on the outside, but there are a lot of issues. The front desk staff seem to have pea brains. They know nothing about anything, so if you plan to ask them a question be prepared to not have your question answered. The property manager Kristie Zapata does not respond to emails so dont send her your questions.Aside from the terrible and rude management, dont expect a hot shower after a long day. They are too cheap to turn up the water heater, so hot water is on a first come first serve basis. Good luck! There is also no oven. IKR? An apartment without an oven. Beware because they hide that from you. Also residents have a nice dirt lot to park at with water filled pot holes and huge rocks to dirty up your clean car and possibly blow a tire. You might even get lucky and get a ticket for parking in a way that you were not a way is inappropriate. Then you will be told there is a designated parking lot for residents at least a quarter of a mile from Bayview’s front door. I hope you like to walk. All in all, I completely understand why so many people are trying to get out of their lease, this place is trash.
The receptionist was very friendly. Everytime I call the front desk they are very helpful and responsive. They also give free transportation to and from the main campus through the Panther Shuttle, which arrives every 30 minutes. This is very useful for future students.
Great place to stay. Beautiful location, BBC is so quiet and pretty so this is a gem. Plenty of space to study and relax.
This was a terrible living experience. Even after I moved out I still had trouble getting in contact with anyone who worked there. The only good thing about this building/property is the view, and that’s only if you pay a ridiculous amount of money for an overpriced room that faces the water. 10/10 would NOT recommend living here.
This is one of the worst apartments Ive ever lived in. Like everyone has said it is a waste of money. They lose peoples packages on a daily basis and pretend like your package isnt there when it is and it says they have signed for it. They dont fulfill work orders ever. The showers are cold or lukewarm unless you take your shower at 2am. There is no oven. My toilet has been broken for 3 days and they continue to come up with excuses as to why the guy hasnt fixed it. How am I not able to use the bathroom in my own apt??? The front desk staff get attitudes with you, when they in fact are the ones who are in the wrong. I could go on and on. The only positive thing is the scenery. The fire alarms continue to break and make noise and it takes weeks for maintenance to fix them. I could go on for so long.
I love living here. It is so calm and peaceful.
Was cool until hurricane Irma we got kicked out didnt get a definite answer on when to come back until we got 2 days notice to come back on Sunday before school started then on that Sunday we were supposed to come back 15 minutes after the return time we got told unapologetic that we cant live here til further notice and as an apology they handed chips and water. Servitas the shi**y management company will find any way to not spend money to keep up their living standards you pay HEFTY amounts in rent dont live here the servitas management company will abuse the lease you signed to the fullest
Its so gorgeous and has a very good view for FIU students. 5 stars...
This place is run by 20 year olds and theyll throw your stuff away without hesitation if you forget it when moving which is unethical.
Nice design and friendly staff
Maintenance staff is excellent.
Management Rocks!!!!They make everything so esay.
Terrible management staff extremely rude and unresponsive. Residents were advertised a parking lot and instead we are forced to park in dirt rubble.
Lost my mail cost me serious $$$ and a work permit
I enjoy living here.
Beautiful and relaxing student housing
So so beautiful!
Property manager Nelson is never willing to have a face to face conversation with any of the residents. She is available but refuses to speak with her clients.
I want to denounce Kristy, because she discriminates against students, she is arrogant and does not care because she is never aware of her work obligations, my brother was a student there and when I went to see him, her room was in a state of disrepair and both students and family, treated with arrogance, rude, if you wanted to pay attention to this person because he can not continue these abuses.
I also want to support the comment below on the performance of Kristy, it is a pity that there are people so ungrateful with their work that reflects in their actions: badly faced, very arrogant, please pay attention to this.
