DONT EVER TRY THIS SALON. Please save your money. She made me leave with my NAILS NOT YET DRY so she had to redo my nails for the second time and she still made me leave too early. NOT a relaxing experience. Salon did not seem organized, clean and looks very unprofessional. The lady ( who seemed the only worker at the time ), needs to go back on training for professionalism and cleanliness. If I can give her no star I would. I tipped her though even though I’m very very UNHAPPY with her work.

My finance and I wanted to enjoy a couples massage because neither of us had a professional massage done.I honestly didn’t enjoy my massage the male who completed my massage was extremely too rough and my neck began to hurt after my massage. We already paid $140 for a hour then before we left she requested a tip I gave her $5 and she pointed to a sign which included tip amounts. So then I then gave her a $20 bill and requested change for a $10 which she refused to give me so I let her keep it. Honestly we will not be going back nor recommend them to anyone !!!! This place is overpriced and not worth the amount of money they are charging the atmosphere within the place was kind of creepy

My wife and I thought it would be nice to have a spa day and wanted to find a place that offered services that included pedicure, manicure and massage. Found this place online and made an appointment. The massage was first and my massage was pretty good however my wife did not enjoy hers at all. Next came the menicure/pedicure and we both have had better. I didnt have much of a problem with that, had better, had worse but the problem came with paying for the service and the tip. We got a service and I paid for that service but she wanted to argue with me about the tip saying it was two of us so the tip should be doubled. One, my wife didnt even enjoy the services and two, a TIP is an option. You lucky I decided to tip you at all. Needless to say we will not be back or recommend this place for any of their services.

I had low expectations going here, because of previous reviews. But, I needed somewhere I could walk into to fix my stiff neck. There was nobody there when I arrived around 7:30 PM. I wasn’t even sure it was open because it was dark inside. It looks like your typical Asian nail salon. They have the massage rooms in the back, each of which is private. The massage was dope! They do a Chinese style massage, which includes hot stones and stretching. It is a little more expensive than some places I have gone, $60 for one hour. Overall, I would say is totally worth it. Sure, it’s a little bit of a dingy facility....but it’s clean. No shady business, or anything unethical. I definitely recommend.

I had a great massage from Ling Ling. She seems very professional and has good experience in massage therapy. I had little difficulty in communicating with her, as her English is not as bad. I will be returning here again and will tell my friends and family about her great massage. Highly recommended.

They were overall very polite and quick for response but I dont know if there were all trained to be a masseuse. At some points mine felt amazing but when the massage was too much pressure...holy hell was it too much pressure. Im not exaggerating at all but, I thought my shoulder was going to dislocate entirely. Woke up the next morning with a bruise on my lower back and one on the middle of the spine. My back kind of just feels like I have a sunburn. My husband had it much worse than I did. He actually has to go see a chiropractor now because the female masseuse that he got was so rough. The facial massages felt great for both of us. He said she was very sensitive with that but everything else for him was just too much. Unfortunately I dont know why Groupon wont let you give feedback properly. I tried to on their page so their rating would reflect properly but it wouldnt load. I would try to click on the arrow to give the feedback and nothing would happen.Too long didnt read version:Go somewhere else. They were nice but way to rough with the overall massage. Spend the extra 10 or 15 dollars to go somewhere you will enjoy it.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would! I went here last night after purchasing a Groupon. On Groupon the hours were listed until 11pm, however the location listed 10pm. First off, I arrived at the location 15 minutes until 8pm. I asked for a pedicure and manicure and the lady at the desk said it would be $50 and to pick a color. I then informed her I had a Groupon. She then refused service saying she would not get paid from the Groupon and I would need to schedule an appointment with someone else because she wasn’t working for free. This was my second time there on a Groupon and did not schedule an appointment. Nor on Groupon does it specify that an appointment is necessary. I then told her that I will be reporting this to Groupon and she said she didn’t care and was going home. As soon as I walked out the door she locked the door behind me and got in her car and left. At that point it was 8 pm. Nevertheless I requested a refund from Groupon. I will NEVER come back here again!!!

Really nice people! Perfect pressure for me. I wish he would have gone a little slower but was a really good massage. If youre expecting a 4-seasons high class massage, this isnt it. Just know that youre buying a massage from a nail place. Id def go back for the price. MANAGE YOUR EXPECTATIONS....its groupon guys.

This is the place where your nails and skin matter. like back in the day clean, health feet n hands, open late and detail to cuticles and nail bed. . Mai from Happy Day Spa is the bomb! My daughter too.

This was so wonderful. I brought a friend for her birthday, and I think I enjoyed it as much as she did. I will definitely be back. I was so relaxed I could hardly walk out to the car.

This place is definitely shady...the lady told me I had to wait 15 minutes past my appointment time because she had a massage to do, but there were 3 other employees there. One was painting her own nails. The other was painting the 3rd employees nails. I think they make most of their money from massages and thats all Im going to say about that there. Oh. And they didnt understand what I meant by Groupon. None of the four employees who were there understood English good enough so they called someone on their cordless phone for me to talk to so she could translate for them.On a positive note, their seats are very comfortable and new - like. Its also clean inside. And they are polite.

If I could give it no stars I would. That was the MOST PAINFUL thing Ive ever received. Also I dont feel its protocol for the masseuse to be spread over my head on the table like I was seriously confused. The table was already small but then you get up there with me? I didnt feel comfortable getting undressed so I left some items on. Glad I did. Then after the torture was over they demanded I give no less than $10 for a tip. Who does that.? Then one of the guys working there had the nerve to say times are hard. In response to me not wanting to give a $10 tip since it wasnt worth it. THE ABSOLUTE WORSE PLACE TO GO. Dont waste time buying the Groupon dont waste time coming I should have just let mine expire it was a reason I got all the way to the six month mark without using the damn thing.

I come here all the time and honestly, I really like the place. Yes, English is not their first language, but who cares. If you tip these ladies well, they’ll take care of you every time you come in. I’m 22 with a bad back and they help me every time I’m in a lot of pain. Don’t expect perfect service if you’re going to come in with a groupon and expect to NOT TIP. You do have to be comfortable in your own skin because you do need to be naked, but these women have seen so many naked bodies that they for sure won’t remember yours, haha. Either way, you’re there for a massage and massages with your clothes on are trash because you can’t get all oiled and lotioned up. They’re nice to me, my friends, and the atmosphere inside I dim and quiet which I like.

Ive been a repeat customer for several months. The foot and body massages are great - I always feel better afterwards. The atmosphere is pleasant, and staff is friendly.

I had a Groupon for a mani/pedi. I was not impressed. My nails do not look great, lots of polish on my skin. my cuticles were not cut well and my shellac is starting to peel off because of it. it’s not been 3 hours. They rushed it so I was not relaxed, but they also left me to sit and soak for way too long. the staff was very friendly though. The place was fairly clean and the color selection was very nice.

Extremely poor/rude customer service, little things floating in my pedicure water and 4 or 5 flies flying around and landing on me while there. This is all explains why I was there for 2.5 hours on a Saturday at noon and not a single customer came in (this is unheard of for nail salons. Weekends are primetime) I had to go to another salon afterwards to fix my nails. Never ever again!

Not a good place to go if you are looking to have peaceful day with your mate, after the services of the massage is done they will demand that you give them $10.00 a piece for a tip for each one of the workers that performed you and your mates massage. I found a groupon for a manicure and pedicure with parrafin here at Happy Day Spa. When I called to make my appointment I was told that they don’t except the groupon but they’ll give me the price in the salon. I thought this was strange but but assumed everything was fine because they were still honoring the price. When I first arrived they seemed very polite and the facility looked like a typical nail salon. After picking my colors I was taken to a pedicure chair and then sat there for 15 minutes while three employees all yelled at the front desk while on speaker phone with someone else. Finally a woman came back and started my pedicure which took a whole 3 minutes. When she put the paraffin on my feet she dipped my whole foot into the paraffin heater. It was entirely too hot and I’m assuming she’s done to every other customer, making it extremely unsanitary. After another 15 minutes she did my manicure while I sat the the pedicure chair. She did this in about 5 minutes. After she finished my pedicure in another 5. This whole time employees were yelling and on the phone. It was entirely unprofessional and the absolute worst experience I have ever had. Both my manicure and pedicure turned out awful. It was a complete waste of money. I do not recommend this facility at all.

My husband and I got a couple massage. Im not sure where all the negative reviews came from. We had two males who were wonderful. They checked on us through-out the massage and were gentle. They werent waiting for us to exit but instead to give us a drink of water. We will return for sure as we enjoyed it.

I got this deal on Groupon a couple of months ago to treat myself . So I made me an appointment 0n Thursday March 8, 2019 for an appointment for March 9, 2019 at 4 o’clock . When I call the business they asked me when I wanted to make an appointment .. then told me that it wasn’t available. I was not sure why she asked me when did I want to make an appointment when she could have just told me the date and time that she had open. Anyways, I didn’t plan on bringing my daughter but I had to bring her with me at the last minute. when I walked in I told them I had a 4 o’clock appointment. then asked them is it possible if my daughter can get her nails painted as well and how much would it be. One of the ladies wasn’t sure so she asked another lady and this lady came out and said $35 for a six year old . I don’t think she understood what I was saying so they started to talk in their language then she said $10,ok. To make a long story short I was very uncomfortable they talk in their language the whole time .I didn’t feel welcome at all . After my daughter got her nails painted I was still getting my toes done they put her at the light to get her nails to dry and made her stand up because they didn’t have a chair that was short enough for her . I 👀 plenty of chairs that was short enough for her to sit in . My appointment was at four didn’t leave until seven .they sent me out with wet nails .I am very upset because I didn’t have time to get my nails painted over. I was ready to go, And was not satisfied really wish I would’ve just let the Groupon expire and get a refund. Never again 😡

Bought a groupon for my girlfriend to get a manicure and pedicure, called ahead to make appointment they were very unprofessional, didnt take down name or no info. Then got there and they told her she couldnt get her manicure because they dont offer full set gel when it clearly states on my groupon and their wedsite that they do. Then tells us that we cant get a refund because she already redeemed the groupon before she told us that they dont do full set. No one there speaks english so you can understand what they telling you and tried to say that what they gave my girlfriend was the same price as what I paid for. Will never return there again.

Last year, my husband decided to get a couples massage from this place through Groupon for our birthdays. we had several red flags from the begging as the address we got was in Norfolk, when the establishment is clearly by the ocean front. then there were costumers demanding a refund as the place never did their massages yet charged them for it. and once it was time for us to receive our massages, there was blood on the sheets and they dare tell me it was nail polish. I clearly know what blood looks like, come on. we demanded a refund through Groupon and we thought the transaction was done, and that we had the credit for whenever, now that I wanted to use it I realized something, the refund was never processed, was it Groupons fault? Think again. this place decided to keep the money and deny our claim, so we never got our money back. this place is not only disgusting, but they are also thieves. they should be ashamed of themselves.

Worst massage experience EVER! I purchased a groupon for a couples massage at Happy Day Spa and it was a surprise to my fiance at the time for Valentines Day about two years ago. Like many others have already said, no one there hardly spoke English and the place is very shady looking and so are the massage therapists. They take you to the back of the nail salon and thats where they do the massages. The man who massaged me was rough and it was painful. About halfway through he stopped and smoked a cigarette and brought in wet towels at the end and put them on my back. As far as my fiancee, he didnt like his massage either by the big burly woman and when we went home we immediately showered because we felt disgusting! I complained to groupon and was offered a refund in groupon bucks. I wouldve rather gotten my actual money back but that was better than nothing. New management or not, I will NEVER go there again. Oh and we were harrassed for at least a $10 tip to the point my fiancee just gave the lady his whole $20 even though they didnt deserve a damn thing! Shame on this place and dont go there!

Now it is already understood that massages vary by type. I took my fiancé here for his birthday because the one we normally went to closed to early. Now it is good that they have late operation hours but the massage felt like a strong midget was beating you up. They used hot stones which was new for us but we didnt request it. When you leave out of course you feel a little less tense but then they point to a sign they made with smiley faces on it that has tip charges on it. They demand a tip of 10$/person and then 10$ more for hot stones/person. When you quality is worth the money tipping isnt an issue but I walked out feeling robbed. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

Crappy experience. Cant speak good english. You do not get what you pay for....a reflexology session IS NOT A PEDICURE! A back massage IS NOT SITTING IN A MASSAGE CHAIR! If I had wanted that for my wife I would have taken her to Greenbriar Mall and sat her in one of those Shiatsu chairs....cheaper! Dont waste your money and do some research as I did not.

This is the worst experience I have ever experienced with spas. I went in for a massage and had a few minutes to spare so I decided to get a eyebrow and the lady who waxed my eyebrows took my whole eyebrow off. She lied and said she didnt and then tried to cover it up with makeup. And then they tried to refuse to give me my money back for all my services. I would never recommend anyone so there. Their customer service sucks especially when they messed up.

Unprofessional. Very dark in side. Told me their Norfolk location is closed because of no power. Could you go to va beach location. We did. Showed the Groupon. They didnt speak any English. They gave us their cell phone to talk to their boss and said do you want to go to another location or wait 30mins. Its in a run down area on the beach with name aura spa not happy day. We walked out. Quite unpleasant and rude staff. Worse Groupon I bought drove an hour and hired a sitter. Worse customer service experience.

Horrible I made an appointment with a woman. I prepaid on groupon. I got there and no one spoke english. And the receptionist told me you want female 10 dollar. I couldnt understand at first. But they decided to try to charge me extra for having a woman rather than the creepy looking guy there give me a massage. Then said everything extra. What does that even nean.. Stay away from this place. Bad customer service, creepy therapists, bait and switch scam, no one speaks English more than a few words.

I have been coming to Mai for a long time and she always takes her time with my manicures and pedicures. Happy Day Spa is a comfortable place to come and relax after a busy day at work.

This place is terrible! My nails look so bad. The acrylic sinks in and out in places. I couldnt wait 45 minutes to get them off because I have homework as a full time student. So I didnt get a refund. I was there since 3:45 its now 7:05 and I just got home.

Honestly the worst salon in Norfolk. It’s not legit, the place looks shady & the smells on the inside. A manicure is only a cut down & file. Pedicure is basically the same. Groupon really should remove them because it’s honestly not worth it .

My wife and I purchased a groupon for a couples massage. I read a few reviews on groupon & decided it was okay. We went in, it should have been a red flag when they showed a sign of how much to tip. Not to mention I look at two fliers from them with different prices for eye brows. One said $8 one said $15...okay? So I check in & she said 4 dollars tax. Okay. Then asks how much Im going to tip...can I get the massage first? I told her Id tip in cash. So we walk to the back then she covers her mouth and giggles and says Im so sorry 10 minute wait. Okay, no problem. I inquire about getting my eyebrows done & she said pay $4 tax first...fine. I do that then someone comes in and she completely dismisses me to carry on a conversation with the other woman. Fine... So then I ask her again for eyebrows she says $10 dollars.So she begins attempting to do my eyebrows standing in the most awkward position and Im asking myself how do you even tell if theyre even. Whatever. I tell her I dont want them thin just arched and cleaned up. She literally takes a thin line off both while another woman is standing catty corner to me staring....then shows me my eyebrows & I said it doesnt look like anything has been done can you take off more and give me an arch...she pretends as though she has no idea what I mean. Then proceeds to tell me she cant. Okay forget it whatever. When Im done she leads us to the back. Were given towels and told to undress. They return & I have a man and my wife has a woman. Immediately its weird to me (shes never had a massage) they put a towel over your back & begin to (what feels like) attacking your back. I bare it as I dont like to complain. My wife was the first to say it hurts. 5 mins later I tell him hes hurting me. He laughs. For 45 minutes its a continuous it hurts that hurts not to mention he continuously puts his nuts on my head whilst making a weird noise. He does the same while touching my butt. Also, Ive never had a masseuse touch my butt without asking let alone just go for it. He was playing with my butt cheeks like an organ. Also he massaged all the way up my thigh up into the crease of my vagina. The woman is also climbing up onto the table tea bagging my wifes head. The crotch of her pants were rubbing up and down my wifes head as she massaged her all the way down her back and my wife is very long which she complained to me about. Then offers $10 hot stones each. Mind you theyre still murdering our backs.Finally its over & were both in so much pain. NEVER AGAIN.

They will try stealing money from you!We booked a couples massage with Groupon. Upon calling to book an appt, they told us we needed to pay $10 extra per person because we used Groupon. They also told us we needed to make sure we tipped $20 more to their staff. We laughed and cancelled the appt, and got a refund from Groupon.This has been the most unprofessional experience we have encountered. We suggest if you have this experience to not only write a review, but contact Groupon and demand they be removed from groupon.

The massage was subpar. I was covered by a TOWEL yes, a TOWEL and massaged with what appeared to be lotion. I paid for an hour, my appt was a 1pm they started at 110 and were done by 150. Afterwards, the guy is standing outside looking like a stalker as he waiting for a tip. I gave him 5 bucks way more than he deserves in my opinion and he followed me to the door saying that he wanted 10 dollars because thats their recommended tip. I politely asked him to get the hell out of my way!!! I will never EVER spend another cent at this place!!!

Used a Groupon and they required a $2 tax in order to use the Groupon. When I reviewed Groupons merchant agreement, I saw that the vendor/merchant is responsible for all taxes and they are in breech of their agreement with Groupon by requiring customers to pay this tax. I decided to take the $2 out of the tip since they were not operating ethically. They have signs posted trying to tell you how much to tip, but I promptly disregarded those and tiped 10% based on the original cost of the services that I received less the $2 that they took from me up front. The whole situation annoyed me and kept me from being able to fully relax. There are plenty of spas in the area, so I wont need to go there every again.

Took my mom here for Mothers Day to get a massage with hot stones and oil and also a mani and pedi. My mother didnt enjoy the message she said she felt like she got beat up. Then we were approached by the masseuse demanding when or how we were gonna pay him his tip. I explained to him once everything was done we would decide he smacked his teeth and begin speak his language with another employee. Then the beginned her pedi and medi they put something on her nails and let it sit washed and off and beginned painting. The whole time while painting they stood around in a group talking(in their own language) and once it was time to leave they beginner harassing us once again. I will NEVER come here again, waste of money.

My mom received a groupon from her friend by my mom rescheduled it to the next day and we she had to pay an additional 40 dollars for the body massage. Or at least thats what they told her on the phone. when we got there she paid the 40 dollars and the clerk told us no 44 dollars because of the tax. So being that my mom only grabbed 40 out of the house she was asking why didnt she tell her the complete total on the phone so after we went to get a full body massage. The clerk told us our masseuse names were Amy and Kevin. So we told her to put Kevin on my mom and Amy on me. After We got undressed 10 mins. later they came in and Kevin was starting on me and Amy was on my mom and we tried to tell them who we wanted on us and they looked at us crazy. THEY DIDNT KNOW ANY ENGLISH. So after we were finished our massages we went to go pick up a flyer and Amy pointed to a tip suggestion poster and no one told us a tip was required so my mom told them she only grabbed but so much with her because she doesnt carry cash on her so the clerk caught and attiude explaining how it wasnt fair for the masseuse because they dont get paid with groupon. So I was wondering where does the additional 40 dollars go to. So they tried to get my mom to use her card and she didnt want to cause she rather pay cash for tips. So she had to got to an ATM to get the tip and instead of us leaving relaxed we left with more tention then we went in with. And trust me the massages are not even worth the prices. HORRIBLE
