Im extremely disappointed in the job done today. I do not have the techs name. I asked for a simple design and this is what they charged me extra for. The edges were hardly cleaned up and complete with a stray piece of debris on the pinky nail.

Worst experience ever with a pedicure The salon was very busy and they were trying to rush people in and out I spent $45 for seven coats of nail polish not including base or topcoat and my toes look horrible

My first impression of Magic Nails was that it looked a little run-down. Then I noticed the signs by their front desk and on the outside window detailing their efforts to sanitize thoroughly because of Covid-19. One of the ladies took my temperature, and had me fill out a waiver stating that I was in good health. I was impressed by these efforts, because the nail salon I usually frequent back home does not do those things.I will say I was a little concerned about the implements used, and whether or not they were sanitary. The file looked like it had been used many times before it touched my nails, and no implements came out of plastic packages. The nail bowl that I soaked my fingers in looked like a glass kitchen bowls with those rocks you would see at the bottom of a fish tank. The girl did a good job on my nails though, and I have to admit that I have not had any problems with my nails chipping or infections since, and it’s been a week (gel/shellac on my natural nails). Compared to my usual nail salon, these have definitely lasted longer.I was also not impressed with the “massage” I received after getting my nails done. I had some oil dabbed on my hands from a little brush in a sketchy-looking bowl, and the oil was briefly rubbed into my skin and that was it (5-10 seconds long maybe).Overall, I’d say I was impressed by the nails but not by the environment.

Pedicure with french tips. Quick and efficient even though walk in.

After a 20 minute wait they told me to sit in chair 5. I sat there for 10 minutes and a girl got up from 2 seats over and put some Luke warm water in the basin. At the 15 minute mark I asked the man doing a pedicure in the seat next to me if anyone was assigned to my seat. A woman from the back of the room came up and waved in the direction of 2 men doing nails and said when they finish then I will be taken care of. In the mean time 2 people who came in after are being taken care of. Then I see each of those men finish and take on new customers. So after 25 minutes I left with my feet in lukewarm water I left.

I always go to this salon I love annie she is the best. She always give the best sevice, so as mimi. But theyre both not working at the moment. I still go there, I believe the person that did my pedicure was their manager or owner. I always get the special paraffin wax. When you get one of their special you should get a good massage. But what I get is less than regular I didnt get the massage I should get she just ran her hand on my legs like she is just putting lotion on my legs. Yesterday was the 2nd time she did my pedicure yesterday was worse than the other time she gave me pedicure. Before I left I asked when annie and mimi would be back? She was not sure She said she will take care of me while annie and mimi are not back yet. But am so disappointed with her service so I guess I go somewhere else for the mean time till annie or mimi are back.

I heard about Magic Nails from 2 different people and I had to check it out! The place is clean and the nail tech who did my nails was honest about the products and what they do to to your nails, explaining which is best for a natural nail. It’s been two weeks since I was there and had a mani with the powder dip (natural color) and it’s still going strong! I’m very happy with my service and will go back to see Annie. #the pics below are from today - 2 weeks post mani. They still look good. I can probably hold out another week or two. 👍🏼🙌🏻💅🏼

I spent 90 dollars and I’m never going back rude and nasty, it haven’t even been 3 days and two of my nails came off,then when I go to get the nail fix they tired to give me whatever. That’s why I only dealt with Mimi to bad she’s sick. Never again and didn’t bother to give me half or none of my money back at that point I’m angry 😤

Magic Nails is the best nail salon to go to in Newport News. The nail techs greet you as soon as you walk through the door. They are very accommodating and provide great services. I went to the nail salon on my birthday to get a manicure and pedicure. They offered 10% off my total price and my nails looks fabulous! In addition, this is the only nail salon where my polish dont start chipping or coming off within a week. Its good quality polish that they use and they take their time to treat you right. They even offer water to customers. Again, its the best place to get your nail done for wonderful quality. ☺

This place was awesome and takes covid measurs seriously. There e plexiglass windos between you and the providers, plastic between the seats, though they dont sit customes next to each others anyway, they clean after each customer leave. I watched this go down as I got my nails doneIt was my first time there and I had Danny and I will use him the next time too. Why? He did a great job and had a gentle touch. He didnt take all day either. Apparently the others are awesome too. I heard the other patrons asked for their favorite providers. 10/10 would recommend

The nail salon was very clean and organized and the staff was amazing! Nihn did my nails exactly how I wanted them and even added her special touch with the nail dip! She was quick and did an awesome job!! I will be returning!

My daughters and I have been going here for quite awhile & never have we paid $110 eachfor Fills, Pedicures, & eyebrows. We will not be returning. Our usual price is $70. All of a sudden, they jack prices up without informing us

I love coming here. The owner is always so welcoming and Henry, the tech I always use, does great work and always matches exactly the nail designs I’m looking for. He’s really sturdy with his hands and makes sure everything is perfect!

First-time customer here. Forgot to ask his name but I had a tall male with dark hair as my tech and he did absolutely wonderful. I got long coffin shaped nails and every step he was telling me what he was putting on my nails. He was delicate when filing my nails and my cuticles. Did my cuticles before applying the acrylic not after. He verified the each nail was at the thickness I wanted, and the correct shape with just about every nail. Definitely worth a 25% tip and am gonna request him next time

They were great overall. My only issue was the gel polish application. My nails were 110% perfect before the polish. After the polish, the edges were uneven and he didn’t have me wash my hands to get the debris off from filing my nails so the polish also had little bumps here and there on the surface. Color was beautiful, but the shape after the polish was no longer beautiful, unfortunately. I think next time I will apply polish myself at home.

I visited Magic Nails for the 1st time post-Covid 19. I was very impressed with the safety precautions in place at the salon. Upon arrival my temperature was taken and I had to complete a Covid 19 questionnaire. The salon has plastic shield barriers in between each chair and also in between customers and workers. After I left my chair it was immediately sanitized. The staff is very friendly and professional. I highly recommend this salon.

Fast great service and friendly people

My friend asked me if I painted my nails after coming here and having them redo them. I got a fill in and he specifically told me not to wash my hands after cutting and filing my nails and painted them. Both times.

The technicians are so welcoming and talented. We seldom have long to wait (they work hard to get you seated as soon as they can) and the prices are fair. Im glad I found Magic Nails for my regular manicure needs. My regular technician is kind, and always greets me, and many clients, by name. She improved upon the way my pink powder manicure was done at my previous location. Highly recommend Magic Nails.

They are taking great precautions with covid, but I do think that their covid screening questionnaire is too personal. I have no problem releasing my name and phone number but not too comfortable releasing the other information. One other things is the additional $2 charge because they are using and lot of soap and disinfectant 🥴

Greatly pleased by the service provided at this nail salon, my friend and I were just looking around on google, and I was so happy we chose magic nails they really took great care of us!!! Unfortunately I’m not sure anymore about magic nails my friend and I got our nails done and our top clear coat started to peel which has never happened to me. The workers are still super nice but I’m a little upset.

Everytime i went i was taken 30 mins late WITH an appt time. Not only that but my acrylics were lifting after 1 week and after i git fed up and took them off myself i found that i had a finger nail fungus. Yeah. Super. From what i read is from nails not being glued properly and water getting underneath. So yeah. Not worth my money. There are better salons out there.

Visited for the first time. Im not disappointed Im not pleased either. I got a a fill and reshape they look okay but Im a perfectionist and I notice all the little flaws, and unevenness. Also my skin was knicked by the drill and it stings every time I wash my hands. It looks nice tho if ur not looking too closely though.

After moving here in the last couple of months, I tried a couple other nail salons before I found Magic Nails. I am so happy I found this awesome salon. I will never go to another salon besides Magic Nails. I bring my child with me and they are so sweet to her. Also, they do incredible work and are always so friendly. I would recommend Magic Nails over & over again.

Service was great. I received My toe polish and fill in by Bo. He was so neat, did not rush but got my preferred task done in a timely manner, he made sure I liked everything he did, from the way he was filing, to putting the gel polish on for the finish. He also offered a drink as well. I Got my eyebrow waxed by a woman, I never Got her name but it was my first time and she made sure I was Fine, and they turned out very pretty. Everyone in the shop smiled at you or spoke when they walked by you. This will be the only nail salon I go to.

I dipped my nails in powder instead of gel polish for the first time about 3 weeks ago and I am hooked! It costs more...but you get what you pay for. No chips or broken nails, even though I was cleaning and cooking for most of that time 😎

I went here yesterday for my birthday as a surprise from my sister and also had an appointment. First and foremost everything went fine until a few customers walked in..my nail tech got up, greeted them and hugged them so clearly they are regular and then came back and rushed me like no tomorrow. Rushed me to the point that my anxiety went through the roof and I left in tears. With that being said my nails look like a child did them. My nails arent all the way painted, theres acrylic dripping off the sides. I ALSO PAID 45 DOLLARS FOR MY NAILS TO LOOK A HOT MESS ON MY BIRTHDAY. I even tipped $10. YOU NEED TO TELL YOUR CUSTOMERS TO MAKE APPOINTMENTS SO YOU ARE NOT RUSHING THOSE WITH ONE!!! TERRIBLE experience and would not recommend this place to a dog because thats how they treat you after spending 55 dollars in their establishment.

It was an okay experience. During my appointment, I noticed that some nail techs were more personable than others. The man I made my appointment with wasnt overly friendly and my nails didnt turn out like they normally do (I get clear coffin nails with gel polish, which is not a hard task to accomplish). They also make a point to up-charge for additional services and gel, which I dont experience at other salons. This shouldnt be a problem though, unless youre really timid or easily persuaded. Ill probably return and choose a different nail tech to see if the service is any better since the reviews are always so good.

I have been going here for a long time and they are so nice and give a amazing manicure and pedicure. I can make my gels last up to around 4 weeks without the hard top gel. Staff is very nice, some don’t speak great English but are super nice and make a great effort to converse and make you comfortable.

This is the most professional and friendly nail salon I have ever been to. The entire staff offers a warm smile and kind words. Henry did a full set on me and was very detailed in his work, listened to all of my requests, and even offered me a free bottle of water. Very nice touch, clean salon, friendly atmosphere! I usually go here all the timeAnd they normally do a good job but for the last two times the tall guy cut me while doing my full set and i bleed. They didn’t say anything other than it’s okay. Like no it’s not okay. That’s the reason I had been holding off on doing my nails I’ve been scared they were going to cut me again. And they did. So just be careful

Friday and Saturday are their busiest days so try to come in during the week. I had to wait a while, but once I was helped the services were amazing! I had the bamboo fusion pedicure that was much needed. I will definitely be here again!

Love love love this place! I come here every month for waxing, manicure and pedicure. Gel polish last me about a month. Kim and Mimi are excellent there! Today I had a pedicure by one of the gentlemen and it was Amazing!! He took his time massaging my legs and feet. I came out of there brand new! I wish prices were lower. Lol but honestly its worth it coming here.

I came here because of the good reviews and I left here happy with my dip powder manicure and my experience.However, two days after my manicure, my nails started to chip away and the top coat seems easy to chip and has flaked off of many places on my nails.I have had this type of manicure before, but had it done at another salon. My previous experience with this manicure lasted weeks with no chips or dents even through rigorous climbing and hiking on a rocky hillside. I am not sure what went wrong here, but I would say that I am unhappy with my manicure. Otherwise, the staff was very friendly and the establishment was neat and inviting.I would maybe think about going back again, but I wouldnt get another dip powder manicure here.

I dont usually write reviews like this but my past 3 visits here were all so AMAZING! Love love love! Henry and Hoa were my favorite!!! The only place I will be going to from now on. Was a loyal customer here for months even driving from Norfolk to come here. Then they decided to charge $50 for a FILL! That’s how much a new set is. They change the price every time you go. Will never return here.

This place was wonderful. Other then doing an outstanding job I was comfortable here. The staff was friendly and over all the experience was just wonderful and Im so happy with my nails !!!

Very polite and efficient. Can get through a lot of people in a short amount of time without loss of quality. Offers Complimentary drinks. I try to come here every 2 weeks as well as my mother and Grandmother. Also young kids are treated perfectly as well.

Ive been coming to Magic Nails since before they relocated, so roughly 5+ years. Ive moved three times and still come back. There isnt a salon around as kind or accommodating than these folks! Nice environment but they dont listen to what the customer wants. I told the guy I didnt want my french tip too thick. Instead of doing what I wanted he said it would grow out. Also I told him one of my nails didnt look right but instead of attempting to fix it he told me it was fine. I wont be going back.

They are REALLY nice. i’ll start by saying that. Their pedicures are good. I’ve gotten it twice..... now as far as my nails, i usually go to certain people who i know for sure can do my nails exactly how i want. I decided to come here for a full set because; the set i wanted was basic and simple; i was getting a pedi anyways and i didn’t want to schedule an appt ....foundation is key and they ain’t got it.i ended up reshaping my nails when i got home because they were shaped HORRIBLY.like i wish i would’ve uploaded a pic before i shaped them.they also cut like 3 of my fingerssince i’m not a nail tech, they’re not perfect. but they’ll do until i book my next appt. with people i trust.at least 3 femalestold me they were bad. it was mentioned in a joking manner, but none the less it was mentionedi recommend the pedicures tho

Rude I explained what my daughter wanted and the old lady said “I know” very rudely. Then they over charged my teen daughter. I asked them to give her acrylic nails with gel polish then left and came back to pick her up and said they didn’t understand so they gave her gel nails with gel polish and charged us an extra $15. Finally, they made her wait to do her hands after her pedicure, they let someone in front of her and it ended up taking over 2 hours to get her hands and feet done. Horrible.

Friendly staff, quick service. In and out in less than 30 minutes for a one color gel manicure. I went because most other places were closed on the 4th of July. The manicure was nice, but not as precise and smooth as I like. Also, the smell of polish remover was very heavy.

Poor dip powder manicure. Very thick. Lent under top coat of a nail, top coat coming off another nail two days after the manicure, lifting, jagged nail bed edges. Sloppy job.

They were so busy when I came in, I got mad because of the long wait. But, as soon as I was greeted, my mood was completely flipped! She appologized for the wait. The facility was clean and so cute! The lady that did my nails (Nai?) was such a sweet woman, did a great job. The shop even offered me a free drink too. Will come back!
