Ive been to several dealerships in the past and I can say without a doubt this one was my best experience to date. Me and my fiancé came looking for a Grand Cherokee. Dealership reviews are often suspect, and I’m writing to assure you this one is the real deal. I needed an inexpensive used minivan to sit at my beach house. The age and price point would naturally send me to a used car lot, but those are so hit or miss. Checkered Flag showed the vehicle I wanted in inventory. It had been cleaned, checked, and put into a sales position far better than the fly by night lots would have, using properly trained mechanics. My contacted sales rep, Larry Plummer was communicative, assured me multiple times the car was on the lot and available, but resisted any hard sales pitches. The car, the price, and the transaction were as advertised. If I had to say anything negative, to assure you this is a true review, I’d say that the doc fees associated with this dealership are about $200 over what I consider average, and I believe that’s a recent increase from the dealership name change. Nonetheless, the 12 month power train warranty on an older car with tons of miles, makes doing the purchase at a reputable dealership like Checkered Flag a no brainer. I give this place my highest recommendation and hope you have as good an experience as I did.

The front fan of our Dodge Grand Caravan stopped working two weeks before our family of 6s 3-week summer road trip halfway around the country. Without a fix, wed have to drive without any air blowing into the cabin--a miserable trip. Two mechanics couldnt figure out what was wrong. We brought it to Checkered Flag less than a week before wed have to leave. They accepted my van as a walk-in, diagnosed the problem within hours, and had it fixed for us way before our trip. Not only that, but Ro, the frontline employee, was very friendly, honest, and straightforward. It was a great experience, and Im so thankful for them! They made our trip so much better.

Purchasing the truck went great the service dept on the other hand is pretty poor. Showed up for an oil change and still sitting here and vehicle has not moved in 2+ hours. Not allowing appointments is a horrible way to run a service dept. Be better off paying for an oil change at a shop that understands peoples time.

Made an appointment for 7am Wednesday 5/19/21 to have my car serviced for a well known problem with my year/make/modelVehicle. I dropped my vehicle off Tuesday evening, and it was checked in Wednesday at 7pm. I didn’t receive a quote until Thursday afternoon, and once I did, it listed an exorbitant amount for repairs, almost $4000, costing more than the car is worth. There were three services listed as “immediately necessary” but listed no reason or description. I called to inquire about the recommended services and repairs but could not reach my technician, or the service manager. They have now had my car for an entire week, I’ve called the dealership a minimum of twice a day, totaling 15 total phone calls. I’ve left 9 messages, sent two emails, was told by whomever answered the phone that they’ve sent 3 emails to both the technician and the service Dept manager and I’ve requested a call back through the online chat service and have still yet to hear from them. I’ve been without my vehicle for a week, I’m a single mom with no transportation and no way of getting in touch with them. I’ve tried filling out the service email to confirm the repairs 14 times, and I received an error message every time. I don’t understand what’s going on, why I haven’t received a call back, and why I’ve been without transportation for a week now. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in May entire life, and that’s saying a lot since I’ve been a retail manager for the last 14 years.

Ive been shopping around online for a bit for a new Ram 1500. I had interacted with a couple dealers and received responses that the one on their site had been sold, etc. I reached out to Pomoco about a new truck they had online and had prompt and professional interactions with Kyla Power. Through a few more emails I set up an appointment. Kyla was with some other customers but promptly set me up for a test drive. Returning from the test drive, Kyla had yet an additional customer waiting for her so I was referred to Mike Wiseman. We went over the truck and different options. I had an existing vehicle to trade and Mike got that checked out and I was offered a fair price for the trade in.After going through all the numbers, options, etc. Mike was able to get me set up with the loan, trade in, and new keys in my hand. The back office folks were all staying late to get me setup and did an excellent job answering all questions and exceeding my expectations.No hard sell. No invasive phone calls from my online request. Super knowledgeable people.It has been a bit of time since I bought and when ever I have a question, I continue to reach out to Mike and he is there, phone or email. I cant recommend him enough if you are in the market for a new truck like I was. Also, Kyla was excellent and super helpful online and when she was juggling three customers at one time!

This is the 3rd new Ram 1500 Ive purchased from Pomoco. Ive never bought a used car from them so I can only attest to the new car sales. Why do I keep going back to Pomoco? I love their no-nonsense, no-haggle approach to car sales. They simply give you the best price available based on current discounts and rebates and you decide if the deal is right for you. They dont chase you out of the lot and they dont do the wait for 15 minutes while I go talk to the manager deal. Its just very straightforward. For example, yesterday, I had the pleasure of working with Mike Wiseman in the Newport News Pomoco. I went in to look at the current Longhorns. I was definitely in the market and ready to buy. From arrival on the lot to purchase complete, it took 2.5 hours. That included looking at 3 vehicles, a short test drive, and me taking some time to carefully consider the deal. It couldnt have been easier. And kudos to Pomoco for continuing their long history of supporting Vets with a $500 incentive.

Brought my car in twice for a scheduled appointment to fix recalls. Twice, my car was kept all day and no work was done. I was told I’d be contacted when the necessary parts arrived. Weeks later my car breaks down to the recalled parts. I have it towed in, mechanic says the issue wasn’t any of the recalled parts, but something else and all the recalled parts have been replaced. I get my own mechanic to address the other issue but the car still won’t run. Mechanic says it the alternator (a recalled part that was allegedly replaced). Go to purchase a new one, salesman agrees that the alternator had not been replaced. I buy a new one, but at this point also needed a new battery due to the defective alternator. $500 later, out of pocket for a recalled part that should have been free, service manager says there is nothing they can do, and that I should have left my car unable to run for even more time, and allowed this dealership to address it. That was simply not an option, and I would never allow them to touch my vehicle anyway. I’m unsure if they addressed any of the recalled parts and am terrified that my car may have a severe issue with my family inside. Go to the Jeep dealership in Virginia Beach.

Dodge truck towed to dealership 5 weeks ago for service/ repair estimate. Until this day I have not been able to reach anyone that can give me a status on the estimate, left VM with Service Manager twice, sales manger once, service advisors 6 times and not one returned call. This has to be the worst dealership ever! Save yourself the headache and avoid this dealership!

Great dealership. Easy to get to their bottom line price and I appreciate not getting the treatment. I tried and tried to get everything done before coming into the dealership for my cash deal, but I waited more than TWO HOURS to get the paperwork done for an all cash deal! I gave them 3+ hours notice before I arrived and yet my vehicle still being cleaned up. That is a pet peeve of mine and shows a lack of respect for my time and a lack of understanding of these COVID times. Cost them a 5 star review.

We had a 9am appointment for an inspection and to mount new license plates on a brand new Jeep Sahara and we were told it would be ready by 11. We returned at 1230 after trying unsuccessfully to talk to someone three times. Twice we were transferred to a voice-mail and once we were told they would send an email to check on the status of the Jeep.When we arrived we were told it was all done and ready and they should be bringing it around shortly. After waiting about ten minutes I walked around and saw the Jeep still in the service stall with the temporary plates still attached. After questioning this I was greeted by a young lady named Mel who was very nice but reassured me that they would now be mounting the plates and it should be just a couple more minutes.We left at 120, a full two hours and 20 minutes after the time we were supposed to pick up the Jeep and four hours after our appointment time. I understand things happen but its always best not to over promise or exaggerate results. If you need maintenance or just a simple inspection pack a lunch or just dont take it to a Checkered Flag dealership to start.

HERE IT IS AUGUST 27th, 2021 STILL NO RESPONSE FROM GENERAL MANAGER OR ANYONE APOLOGIZING FOR THEIR WRONG DOING.UPDATE: TODAY IS JULY 21st, 2021 and I have YET to receive a reply or apology from the service manager or department. Poor service. Will never return or purchase a vehicle from this establishment again. It was horrible from the start and I should’ve left the vehicle there off of the first bad encounter. Horrible.I went in today, May 27th, 2021 to hopefully get a state inspection. Upon entering, the lady at the desk (Caucasian with long graying brown hair) picked up her phone before greeting me. I stood there for maybe 5 minutes before she helped me. She asked “how can I help you?” And I asked if I could get a state inspection at that location. She replied “sure” in a very nonchalant manner. She then threw her hands up and said “which one is yours?” By that time a match was lit between my toes and I was over the customer service. Every time I have visited that location, INCLUDING the purchase of the vehicle, I have been given nothing but a hard time! My money is just as good as everyone else who comes in and out of those doors. I will NEVER visit this location again, even if all dealerships close and this is the last on earth. I wouldn’t even buy an air freshener from this place.

I stopped in to look at a few models when recently considering a new car. Ultimately, I choose another manufacturer, but the staff I met since Checkered Flag took over was top notch! Highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the market!

Floyd Hobson was extremely helpful with all the questions I had. He was able to accommodate all the needs and answers I had and we were able to work out a deal that worked for all of us. In addition, Jim was up front and honest regarding the appraisal of my other vehicle as well as what to expect with the vehicle I was buying as far as possible price deductions. I am extremely happy with my used 2008 highlander. It is such a comfortable vehicle and it feels brand new to my wife and I. I have never had a good experience with a dealership prior to coming here. I will recommend this place to anyone that mentions anything about wanting a vehicle. Floyd and Jim are awesome and I have had a truly good experience coming here.

We recently had an awesome experience at Checkered Flag CDJR. We live in Northern Virginia and had been shopping for a Ram 2500 for a few months. We visited and communicated with other dealerships and always felt like there were too many games, especially with truck inventory down, making it difficult to trust any car dealer. When we requested information from Checkered Flag CDJR, John Spensieri contacted us and provided the information we needed. He was very responsive and did not play games. Throughout the sales process, John was efficient, knowledgeable, and never pushy. After the sale, Larry helped us set up and understand many of the electronic features in the truck. This was hands down the best experience we have had at any auto dealership. When we are ready for another vehicle, we will visit them again

I bought a 2020 Challenger from here 2 years ago. Im currently stuck on the side of the road because my tire service kit they threw in my trunk already had its sealant used. So they ripped me off there and proceeded to tell me Were not named that anymore and wouldnt replace it. I had a guy in service tell me I could get towed home because I was under warranty just to be told by roadside assistance thats not true. Ill keep buying MOPAR but not from here and Id advise others to do the same.

We were shopping for an SUV to replace our older car. We had some typical experiences at other dealerships (making us wait while the salesman talks to the manager, etc.) We called the Pomoco Jeep dealership and Mike Wiseman was glad to work with us. He gave us a great price, no haggling, and made the whole car buying experience pleasant. I would highly recommend this dealership. Honest, helpful and no pressure, all dealerships should sell this way.

Service department was very helpful getting our Ram 1500 repaired in 1 day. We were getting ready for a trip so repair was critical. Jermaine Johnson was very professional and friendly.

They quoted my wife $70 labor to change her low beam headlight on a 2015 grand cherokee, after she had already bought the bulb separately. BEWARE do not buy from them.

My instincts were right on the money, I just happen to be looking for a Dodge Dealer and they popped up. I saw the car I wanted as soon as we pulled up. Walked in and was introduced to Mr. Angelo. He was so nice and listened to what I wanted not what he wanted ( like some sales people do) He helped me get the car that same day and got me some great incentives as well. Between him and the Manager they saved me lets just say it was a blessing. After that visit They got a loyal customer. I recommend this dealership and when you go in ask for Angelo. You wont regret it.

These guys are really professional. We were in the market for a used car. Everyone I spoke to from sales to management really listened to our needs and took our feedback into consideration. This was by far the best experience I have ever had at a car dealership. The customer service was outstanding, from sales to financing. I didn’t feel pressured at all but just the opposite! My sales person, Kyla Power, was truly concerned that I was happy with the car I chose rather than how much I spent. She helped me narrow my choices by asking all the right questions. This had to be the easiest and friendliest car shopping experience I have ever had. Literally from the time I walked in the door til the time I left with Renegade, everyone was amazing! Staff was great. Helped me find the jeep my wie wanted and didnt try to put me in something i didnt want. And one of the coldest days to buy a vehicle the staff really help me out. They pull the car in was i was looking at. They pulled it into the Bay so I could look at it inside instead of outside. Didnt push me along they help me get the financing. And with my trade in and give me a great deal on a used Jeep. I will keep their contact information in possibly by another Jeep in the coming future.

Tony was very helpful. I submitted and online inquiry for a vehicle and he called me quickly and made plans for me to come in during my lunch break to test drive the vehicle. He let me take it home for a few hours and then drive it back after work. I loved it and purchased it. The process was super quick and easy-better than my prior car buying experiences!

Drove from NC to purchase a vehicle that was priced one way online on multiple websites then by the time we had gotten there they had jacked prices up on all online sites upon showing the dealer the screen shot price on phone him and manager decided they wouldn’t honor the price and said the big boss had made a mistake!! Larry and crew are shysters and crooks, Suttle earned our business and it was much more of an enjoyable experience! Stay Away!!!!
