My daughter and I had a great time. Groupon deal $92 for a 2 hour tour for 2 adults. Our guide was Maui and he was a pro, able to handle our large group. Several stops along the tour to take pictures and enjoy the scenery. It was a day to remember. Enjoy😊

Pros: Open until 6pm on weekends while other close earlierCons:1. Customer Service - All the employees want to rush you in and out. We booked for a 5:00PM for 1 hour. Front desk said, everything needs to be back by 5:50; We get to the harbor and the equipment guy says you all need to be back by 5:45. I told him that we didnt book a 45 minute, we booked an hour - so we will be back accordingly. He says so ill see you at 5:45. All the employees were rude2. Hours of operation - If you are going to stay open until 6pm, dont rush your customers to come back 15 minutes early; Dont offer a 5:00 PM slot if you want to leave exactly at 6pm.3. Not friendly - none of the staff isWill not rent from this place again despite living close to Newport beach. We often use rentals, but no longer from this place.They just want your money and then give you rude customer service with inconsistent messages.

Got a great deal on a hard to find Malibu express kayak.

A hop, skip, and a jump from the water front! You can pick up practically anything to rent and bring it straight to the beach. Were talking bikes, surfboards, paddle boards, segways...you name it! Good rates, with great people running the store.

Got a groupon for this location. It was a great deal. I had a blast..it felt great to be outdoors in the sea getting some exercise in. Its a must!

Fantastic! Mike was our tour guide and gave us the best 2 hour Segway tour. We drove on piers, boardwalks, parks and past so many fancy homes. He was patient training us in the half hour we got there early for. We ended our vacation with this and it was definitely a highlight of our vacation.

Crew was very clear and courteous.We had a blast; with the tandem kayak.

My siblings and I did a guided Segway tour with Cedwyn — he was fantastic! He shared lots of cool info about the area and behind the scenes tidbits that only a local would know, including taking us around to less trafficked areas of Newport that the tourists dont crowd. Only 1 of the 6 of us had driven a Segway before and Cedwyn gave great instruction beforehand, so we were all excited and confident and had a blast.

My stand by rental place was closed due to Covid. So I googled late the night before we wanted to kayak and they answered the phone. 😊 They open at 9am. They are friendly and nice. The service was great as they took the kayak down to the water. I highly recommend the Balboa Fun Tours & Rentals. We had a great time!(Bonus great prices, low cost rentals.)

Not super impressed. The manager openly complained about the cut Groupon takes. If you use the Groupon be prepared to get marginal customer service. Baskets and locks are an additional $5 per bike. Parking was hard to find, and had to eventually pay $20 to park at the shop.

Good experience, fast service. Our family had a fun time paddle boarding.

Consider renting elsewhere. This shop does not represent Newport Beach or the values of our city. You may be able to dupe tourists, but locals do not want your business in our town. They used to own a little crackhead outfit next to 7-11, but soon moved into the building across the street once it became available. They painted over a beautiful mural of Ben Carlson, lifeguard and local hero. If you’re having trouble finding the place, just look for the ugly bluish building with spray painted stencil lettering on the side. Watch out for their employees dashing back and forth 20th street on the dumb segways.

Hold on to the paddle! Some of their paddles don’t float. If you drop it, it will immediately be lost in the murky water and they will charge you $100 for a $20 paddle.

First time for me to Kayak was with Fun Tours and Rentals.. I must say glad that my first experience came through them.. Very nice and humble and definitely know their work.. we went as a group and they made sure to have someone in the front (Algie) and another in the back of the group (Eric) for our safety specially first timers like my case. (Eric) taught me simply how to paddle and so I didnt need to worry a bit. They also have all the options for optimum fun, like bikes and paddleboard, etc. decent prices. Very nice people!I would definitely recommend them. They are also fun to talk to!

I rented a kayak from these people back support on the kayak Seat was not working properly so I went in to ask for a better kayak I was told They’re all the same and there is no refund I rented it for two hours and I got to use it for 15 minutes I would suggest everyone to go across the street I get better service

This place sells Kayaks as well. I found their post in Offer up. The post showed and listed a kayak, gel Seats and paddles for $899. Its offer-up, so offered $800. They messaged us stating it didnt include the rod holder. Ok...thats find, we didnt need that. We agreed on that priced. After driving from San Diego, the employee or owner went back on his post of including the gel seats. He stated the kayaks he had were $799 with regular seats and it would be $50 to upgrade to gel seats. Why were we going to offer $800 from $899 (posted) when they already were regular priced at $799. What was advertised on the post was not being sold or included that misleads customers! The business showed dishonesty. We liked the kayak, however due to the rudeness showed, we didnt get it. He should have been more descriptive on what really is being sold. The gel seats should have been honor.

Locals beware guy with glasses I think owner is a crook!!!! Someone stole my life jacket and I looked everywhere for one no one had one so he said he could sell me one for 35 dollars plus tax!!!! It’s super uncomfortable like it doesn’t fit, but he said that’s how they are he would work with me at all btw there 10 at west marina or anywhere else!!!!!

We just rented a bike and took it to beach . The tire blew my son fell and got injured and the guy at the front desk Mr Fabio surfer dude wanted to run his mouth. Definitely dont rent from this plac . Bikes are dangerous

Rude staff. I went inside to ask about the bike rentals rate and the employee was very unprofessional. He answered to my question in a rude way, and I was trying to be very friendly. He clearly was not. Honestly, I will never come back to this place.

Troy And the gang provided a fun tour of Newport Bay. We learn some fun facts about the bay had a nice paddle and even learned a little bit more about paddle boarding and kayaking. All in all it was a relaxing nice peaceful tour of the Bay. I would highly recommend this group to anybody. I would add that they are entertaining kind upbeat and cheerful. All in all it was a good morning on the bay.

We rented 10 bikes from this store on 8/14/19. The bikes were well priced, but the service is terrible. The store manager had a negative attitude during the entire process. When we returned the bikes, the store manager refused to let us use the restroom and made false claims that we clogged the bathroom toilet; this was especially surprising because we were likely the businesses largest customer that day. The staff acted put out that we were renting equipment from them as if they were doing us a favor. This store does not value your business.The bike prices in the area are competitive. I recommend going to a different store.

It was our families first time kayaking and the staff were so helpful And patient. They were very friendly and affordable. Wonderful experience. Definitely highly recommended and doing it again .

Good price, and for a reason! Kayaking begins from a nearby public park, where you go to park your vehicle. From there you have a minimum of an hours paddle (one way) just to get out of the harbor. If you like sharing the water with VERY big power boats and yachts, then this experience is for you. No attention to safety, life jackets that dont fit, with advice Oh, nobody ever falls in. NoLights provided for after sunset.Can only recommend against this.

We decided last minute to try a Segway tour. Got a good deal. Our tour guide Mike was friendly, got us going right away, quick training then on our way. Nothing fancy, parked in paid parking just a stones throw away. If youre looking for a no frills, lets go for a Segway adventure, this is where our family would recommend going!

Ive done their tours before, but never again. On 2/6/20 I called in and reserved a Segway Tour booking for 2/15. A Groupon birthday gift I had purchased last year for my girlfriend. Whomever I spoke with took all my information, including the Groupon information, and booked us. On 2/15 at 9:15a we arrived for our 9:30 Segway Tour. Whomever was working the front desk told us the Groupon had expired, which it had on 2/11. I asked if he would honor the Groupon. He said yes but then started calculating what turned out to be the difference wed have to pay in addition to the Groupon to take the tour. My girlfriend said lets not spend another penny here and walked outside. I asked if he would honor the Groupon, letting him know I gave all the information to whomever I booked with. He said yes, Ill honor it, and told me the difference Id have to pay which was around $70 more. I left upset and thought that was the end of it. Later that day, I received a cancellation email with the following exact custom message in it: expired groupon! on Valentine weekend Cancelled. Not only poorly written, but there also seems to be a dig for me to remember that I wasnt able to fulfill, for my girlfriend, on Valentines Day weekend.

Great access to 19th St beach. Pay at the store and sign the waiver and theyll deliver your paddleboards and kayaks to the water for you just around the corner. They were very easy and convenient to work with. Boards were in great shape and were perfect for exploring the harbor. Id for sure rent here again. Not sure if they always offer this, but if you pay cash, they were willing to give us a pretty good discount.

My wife and I are both locals from Huntington Beach. Got there for our tour the staff behind the counter extremely rude like they were doing us a favor by letting us rent their equipment. Also be advised the hour and a 1/2 tour also includes a 1/2 hour of you in your group practicing in the parking lot out front. They will also charge you $5 an hour to park in their parking spaces for the customers On top of your rental fees. We rented the Segways

This is the worst place to go. Had 2 hours rental starting 4 pm to 6 pm. We left our keys, wallets, phones in the locker which are located in the store. Came back to the store at 5:30pm ( 30 min before my rental ends), just to find the store locked. They literally packed and locked the doors, keeping our stuff inside abandoning us on the streets like homeless. Had to beg others to make calls, and nobody even answering the call. Worst experience of my life. Wouldn’t ever recommend this place. Go anywhere else, but not here!

A great way to spend time out in the sun with the whole family! I took the 45 minute sea lion tour which was fun and interesting. As we sail out to where the sea lions are, the captain points out all the celebrity homes along the way and gives little tidbits about each one. They ship out every hour alternating between the sea lion tour and the celebrity homes tour and it is only an extra $3 if you want to stay aboard for the next tour. It’s recommended to make an online reservation because the boat is on the small side and you want to make sure there is a seat available for you. The boat is dog friendly so feel free to bring along Fido! Leave an extra 30 minutes before the suggested estimated driving time because the 55 is always a monster to get off of and parking is always a nightmare.

Great Segway tour, we booked it from Groupon and made reservations. They do need 72 hour notice. The staff was pretty cool and trained all of us on the Segways before we went. Although they do have insurance, we didnt need it although we bought it.
