I like this planet fitness, and from what Ive seen most people make the effort to wipe down the machines. Never had a bad experience, staff is always friendly.

I had a membership in2018. I moved out of state and never visited planet fitness in 2+ years. I had asked numerous times to cancel the membership. They havent. They keep charging my card, that too an amount that was not in contract.This is just a money pit. Once enrolled you end up paying for life.Never fall inti these money pits.Really disappointed

Nothing but lies from their employees, promised to call when they were going to reactivate the subscription but never did and wouldnt refund the unused time. Go to a different gym

Are you kidding me during covid you have no working bathrooms nor running water to be able to wash your hands. I was told to go to the bathroom next door. Totally inappropriate your employees are lazy and you expect your members to clean your machines but not give us access to sinks to wash our hands. Maybe the state should close gyms down again.

Mask policy is unreasonable and PF is quite proud of it, spending lots of time for media to cover how much they suddenly care. Was 25 feet away from everyone on treadmil, within 5 minutes was approached by staff who got within 2 feet on blocked off machine next to me to enforce mask policy on machine. Promptly quit membership, wont be coming back. Everyone looks like a miserable slave here now. They will let you wear mask incorrectly below nose to appease the narcs. Before pandemic, facility was well kept. Will find another gym.

Good clean gyms with alot of new stuff. They do not have any free weight bench press station though unless you count dumbells. Only smith machine benching and squating. They are very safety oriented and it cost them 1 star.

Gym life very different because of covid. IThink there are no more than 25-30 ppl in the gym at any given time compared to 200-300 prior to covid. I hope they can stay in business but it doesnt seem like enough ppl to even break even let alone make a profit.

Comfortable no Judgement place to workout.

I came with my friend and they wanted her to pay for her balance or not come in. Then told her that she can pay for a day pass. Like are these guys broke or something. She already told them that she gets paid Friday and she will automatically take care of the balance. Let your members workout and stop with the bad service.

Great facility- one of the biggest planet locations around. Not my home gym, but try to stop at this one when in that area. Well maintained good equipment. Downside is that crowd trends to be be younger, guy dominated during peak hours

Been a member of a few area gyms of varying price ranges, and this PF location is fantastic. Really. All shapes and sizes of clientele here ... No judgment, just like they advertise. Lots of different equipment so that you can change up your routine. No waiting here, lots of every types, and enough extra room to find a corner to do your stretching. Cant say enough good things! A+

Gym is great. Friendly staff. But you get low to no cell service inside and their WiFi is very slow😫Place is a little dusty and there’s been two cases where I’ve seen a roach when stretching.

I am giving the gym three stars only because, even tough it is a great company overall, and I love all the amenities, machines, facilities, etc., the management of this particular location needs to teach its front desk employees to smile and be generally more friendly towards their patrons. This one guy, Thomas, who seems to be the maintenance person, happened to be at the front desk one time, and he was the only employee who, at that point, had ever greeted me with a sincere, friendly, open, and warm smile. I wish he were at the front desk at all times, because that was the one time I felt welcome at the gym.

This gym is a joke of a gym. Get new equipment thats worse than the old equipment. Pay all this money to do the massageand some people will give you 10 minutes some people give 15 minutes some people give you 20 Im paying out section money I should get as much time as I want.Just really cant wait for the x open up by westfarms Mall so I can drop this s*** gym

For a gym that’s $10 per month you get everything you need. If I could just have a barbell for a free weighted bench press, then I’d give 5 stars. Using a smith machine isn’t the same.

I go very late at night and the place is always very clean. I little chilly in there, but its nothing a sweater or hoodie cant fix. I also havent seen weights or dumbells unorganized and the showers look well-maintained.

Great place for basic workout needs. A free bar would be nice but the friendly staff and cleanliness keeps me coming back.

Thanks google for telling me I visited 2 months ago, yes I know I havent been to the gym in 2 months. I will be going again soon though with the warmer weather coming. Theres not much to rate a gym on in my opinion. They have no pool, but they have muscle machines, cardio machines, stretching machines, and dumbbells. There is enough so even at a busy time theres still some available. They also have tanning beds and massage chairs for upgraded memberships. All and all this is a good gym but I feel like they could add a bit to the overall look of it.

Its a good place to work out. However, the options in machinery is limited. Its convenient, though.

Clean, modern, Very happy and a great price. Crew is constantly cleaning both restrooms and gym floor. People (customers) consistently use the readily available cleaning towels and sanitizer after using equipment. Equipment is new and in good working order. See for yourself. My only objection is I wish theyd tone down the floor-music. Everyone has their own ear buds so no one, except the often somewhat distracted desk help, is listening to it. If the desk crew were as professional as the cleaning crew, the gym would get 5 stars. DESK CREW: Please, I cant even hear my own ear buds, go to a Dance hall if you need to dance that badly, no one wants your music but you. Have consideration for your clients.

Lots of fun equipment. Learned some new moves. Really worked my muscles hard. Got a bit sweaty but I remembered to wipe down the machines with the cloths after finishing each excercise. Got a bit tight but Ill stretch before next session. Boutta bulk tomorrow.

The gym itself is a nice place to work out but the staff is horrible no personality and the ones that do have personality have a horrible one. They need to get rid of all of them and hire new ones. Either that or just not have anybody in there at all it would be the same thing

They stole over 100$ from my bank account. I had to send the bank a copy of the letter i sent them saying to stop charging me, which they continued to do. Then MATT the manger there is a complete jerk. Good thing my bank knew they were frauds and refunded the money MATT refused to

I enjoy going to this gym. Ive been to other locations but this is my home gym and its definitely my favorite.

Friendly staff, clean and decent equipment. It its not a lifting gym, but for basics and machines matched with cardio it is fine. Hydro massage tables are amazing.

Staff are polite and machines are clean and functional. Best times to go are after 8 am and after 8pm to avoid the commuters

Im trying to quit due to lack of time and the fact that I find their front desk people very rude and not helpful at all. IF youre a young(20s and 30s) they help but if youre an older person forget it. Youre on your own.

No grunting because its a judgement free zone, never been judged more than I do when I go here.

This gym is mediocre in comparison to others that Ive been a part of, but what disgusted me most was their horrible customer service.I was a member for a little under a year and wanted to cancel my membership early but had to pay a buy out fee, which I had no problem paying for and did. Today, two weeks after cancelling my membership, I was charged $35 which is $15 more than I would have normally payed for, for my monthly fee. I called the gym, being kind at first about it, but then the worker I talked to said, my manager just came in and says she wants to eat her lunch first, she will call you back some time today. I left my number, but was flabbergasted by their lack of customer service.Its been two hours and I still havent heard back from them.Save your money, dont waste it on this facility.

Plenty of equipment: cardio, weights, and crossfit area. Massage chairs and beds are well maintained. Staff is friendly and keep the facility clean.

Planet fittness in general is a different style gym. Personally, I dont like it.

The Gym, as described above is gross. Half of the spray bottles to clean the machines leak sanitizer all over your hands when you use them. Several of the exercise machines are in desperate need of repair whether it be the tension on the cross trainers being out of whack, to the treadmills sounding like a car with no brake pads squeaking like crazy. All the machines are disgustingly gross, partly because of their age I assume. I dont know what they do with their yearly fee, but it certainly is NOT upgrading the equipment. I just moved to Wallingford and transferred my membership today to the Meriden facility which I must say is the complete opposite of Newington. I will be happy to never step foot in the Newington Facility again. And I would certainly tell anyone who is thinking of going there to stay away from it.
