Going to Meineke for a contaminated fuel issue was the best decision. This location is right on NJ 21 close to Newark downtown, allowing my car to be towed to it easily. Renato and team diagnosed the problem quickly and provided a estimate that was inline with expectations. Quality repairs were done inside a week - this despite it being a busy time for auto shops because of recent floods that damaged many cars.Professional and great customer service. Thanks Meineke

Came into the store March 15th 2021 because of a dead battery left the store paying over $700 in repairs. It is now September the alternator they replaced is faulty. If you like customer service this is your place but if you want quality work go somewhere else

I went there yesterday with a loud exhaust problem. The place was packed.I left the car with them, in an hour they called me back with a quote and the car was fixed within the next hour so I was able to pick it up the same day. I was given a one year guarantee on the work done. Wish I went to them sooner. Excellent service, very professional.

All in all, really good experience. It took an hour and 20 minutes to get my oil changed, and for a regular oil change came out to $61. Thanks guys!

I went to this twice already and loved it. Got the oil change #2 which is good because there check up some things for you and let you know if you should be worried about something. Then they detailed me what’s wrong with my brakes. I believed them and got the car again so they can fix it. They did a good job at it. They are quick too. The prices are reasonable and polite to talk to. I highly recommend this place to anyone who’s busy and just wants to get the things done.

If I could give this location no stars, I would. I didnt even get a chance to have my car served because this location refuses to update their times via Google or their company website. I had a funeral to travel to this weekend from Newark driving to Atlanta GA and wanted to service my truck prior to the drive dos . My appointment time that I set on the website was for 3:30 PM and I even received a confirmation email. I arrived at 3pm only to be told they close AT 3:00 PM. The only other option I was given was to come back Monday, the day I leave. No accommodation was given upon the inconvenience. The person at the desk didnt even offer to reschedule my time, just a shrugged shoulder with an I dont know what to tell you attitude. This is NOT how you conduct business and I certainly did report you all to the corporate office. Anyone looking to go here save your time and go elsewhere.

My Family and I have been customers here for years. Everything from a simple exhaust fix, oil changes, to full service on our vehicles. But ever since they have a new office manager service and professionalism seems to have reached a low. First experience we let go since he was new. But what happened this past Friday has made it that none of us will go back. My father was told the wait was a hour which he didnt mind he waited. They then kept him there over another hour and half for a oil change and to change a head light bulb. And on top of it charged him $108 + bulb to change a headlight bulb alone. Wow

I believe everyone should read this before going to a mechanic. Ive been going here for over 10 years and this is my first review. This place is AMAZING!!! I use to come here when the manager was Marcio. The new guy in charge is Renato and let me say: I AM THROUGHRLY IMPRESSED!!!I took my car their get an oil change and multi-point inspection. When they were done, there were a lot of things that were wrong. I was skeptical, as should EVERYONE when you go to the mechanic. However, Renato took my to the back to see my car while it was on the lift. He showed me where I needed work and why I needed it. Then he had Victor, the mechanic, take apart the pieces on that needed to be replaced and compared them to parts that were in fairly better conditions. Renato gave me options that would fit within my budget by telling me what was MOST IMPORTANT and what could wait.When I left Meineke, I took it to another mechanic, a friend of a friend, and he said the exact same thing Renato said.If you want the truth and a sense of calmness when going to the mechanic. This Meineke is the place for you.

Well the fact that a company would be instructed not to give a quote over the phone, for a simple brake service is a company I wouldnt want to patronize. Especially if Im traveling from a distance. I see this location has good reviews, but that one small detail would keep me away. Any other Establishment you call have no issues giving out estimates over the phone.

Not a bad experience but not the best.I usually go here to get my oil change. Yesterday, the owner said they aren’t taking coupons that the website is offering even for their location. I find this hard to believe and trust if the company itself is putting out coupons for different services on the main website . Even though he said they didn’t honor it, he gave me the price of the coupon so I’m grateful. I just would like to know going forward, what can be done to stop or prevent this issue in the future ? if coupons aren’t being using at the store anymore then the company needs to have whoever works on the website to either remove the digital coupons or add a disclaimer that locations have the right to turn down a coupon offer.

I ran into sudden failure of rear wheel hub/bearing assembly on my Ford Explorer. I walked in without appointment and it was pretty busy, Marcio made the whole experience awesome by getting issue fixed with honest expectations on bill & timing. Highly recommended

My 2016 Audi A6 broke down a couple blocks from Meineke shop. Had to nurse the car there as it broke down again in the street next to the shop. Every warning light went off and the car systems shut down. The suspicion was a bad alternator. I left the car at the shop late Saturday morning and got a call about 30 minutes later letting me know that they were attempting to source a new alternator ( just in case the current one was bad). He mentioned that a new alternator would not be available until Monday. About an hour later he called and said they full inspected the car and it wasn’t the alternator but two broken belts. They could have hit me for a $700 - $1,100 repair but honestly reported the broken belts and fixed it all for $270 the same day. They close at 3 pm and called to let me know it was ready. I didn’t get the message until at 2:50. I told them I was 35-40 minutes away. He said he would wait for me if I wanted the car today. I decided to pick the car up on Monday. Couldn’t ask for better, more honest and helpful customer service. Highly recommend!

After dealing with local car repair shops and all the hassle of no returned phone calls and poor customer service, I found this Meineke and thought I’d give it a try. Customer service was friendly and communication was great. Car was diagnosed in about an hour or two and had my vehicle completed same day. I will return to this location going forward. I usually only support family owned business but in the car repair arena, it’s a little left to be desired around this area. Thanks to the staff here for the great service.

The service was good but I was disappointed because I had a coupon off their site that doesnt expire until September but they said they dont honor it. Although it was off their site with their address on the coupon but they still wouldnt honor the coupon.

I’ve been going there for awhile. It seems the front desk/customer service rep has changed. The new guy does not have the sense of urgency or level of professionalism as the previous contact. Still good service for the right price, just miss the more professional approach that was there before

After being denied my appointment at another Meineke on Elizabeth Avenue in Newark, I came here. After about a 45-minute wait, they took me in, repaired my catalytic converter and honored the quote that the other Meineke gave me. I will definitely be back for future repairs. The only problem that I experienced was there was no place to sit outside. They should provide a bench that they could bring in and out of the facility for customers to sit on outside with social distancing. There is a wall but it became quite uncomfortable after a while.

I needed an alternator because mine died in my 2011 Nissan Altima. I had it towed 2 blocks to this Meineke. Frank handled the check in and called once the work was done. I paid $645 for a remanufactured alternator, labor, tension belt with alternator assembly. Car runs great now! I will return if need be because its 2 blocks from my current job.

I brought my vehicle in for an exhaust repair, because it had developed a sudden loud exhaust tone and I could smell exhaust within the vehicle. I arranged to drop it off overnight so that the vehicles engine would be cold and safer to work on. Ronaldo called me with a quote to replace the part of the exhaust that connected to the manifold. It would require replacing the catalytic converter too, because the broken pipe was too close to couple or weld to the catalytic converter. I agreed to having the work done. When I picked up the vehicle it was a little louder than normal, although I expected it to sound different as the shop would probably have gone with a proprietary or aftermarket catalytic converter. I informed the Manager, Fred that the vehicle exhaust was a little noisy and I could hear a heatshield making noise. I agreed to take it home and allow the exhaust to settle into its hangers and if the problem persisted, Id bring it back. A day or so later the check engine light came on and upon inspection I noticed a leak in the exhaust about two feet from the rearend. I immediately called Fred and was told to bring it back. Ronaldo called me back and told me that a middle rear section of the exhaust needed to be replaced for another 400-something dollars! I asked him why he didnt mention it when he first looked at the vehicle and his response was that he didnt want to give me a high price!! I never asked him for any sort of discount, nor did I walk in crying poverty, I went there to fix the problem. Now I was 700-something deep in repairs and absolutely nowhere near resolving the problem!! Furthermore, the vehicle logs showed it never had a check engine code before. So obviously the catalytic converter was no good. Ronaldo asked me to do him a favor and drive the vehicle for 5000 miles and see if the residue left by the new cats manufacturing process burned off and stopped triggering a code. I reset the code and while I figured out what to do about the rest of the exhaust, the code came back 2 days later! Enough was enough, I called Ronaldo and was told Fred was No longer with us. I arranged to bring it back. When I got there I told Ronaldo that I needed the vehicle repaired properly and he told me it was not his fault because he didnt work on the car!! Then he had the audacity to say that the vehicle was loud when I brought it in!! I asked him if he tested the car after replacing the catalytic section, his response was a rhetorical well, what do you want me to do about it!?! I told him to just start with the cat replacement and well circle back. This is the worse place I have ever dealt with. Im going to file a complaint with the BBB and pursue a resolution in small claims court. Stay away from these people!******Update******I called the so-called customer service number and requested a callback from the owner of this particular location, I had to explain everything twice, spoke to three people and had to hang up after being placed on hold, silently; for a half hour. It was a complete waste of time. Im not going to bother with them anymore, Ill let the court system dictate their next course of action. See you in Small Claims, Meineke!

I recommend the services of this mechanic 100%. I had my tire cut on route 21 in a hole (route 21 is terrible) but the Meineke on route 21 are very good and attentive. They solved my problem. I really recommend it, especially for women as they are very honest mechanics.

They do great work but I was there for 6 1/2 hrs after working the graveyard shift at the post office. I was told that it would be at least 90 minutes but it was much longer.

We take our car here regularly, they are fast, professional and you never get the feeling they are trying to talk you into a service you don’t need. They have really saved our car a couple times with affordable, smart service. Highly recommend!

Went in for an oil change and noticed a SEVERE leak less than two weeks later. My oil was empty. my mechanic informed me that they reused a worn drain plug. Unsure how they didnt see it leaking. I wont be coming back. that could have led to a dangerous situation if I didnt notice the leak and get it checked in time.

My Fiancé took our car here to have a tire plugged, after they took the tire from the trunk, 20mins later they came to her and said she needed a new tire. What should have been a 20.00 fix was now going to be close to 400.00. They said the sidewall of the tire had a massive hole, and I know for a fact it did not when she took it there as I took it off the car. They tried to take advantage of a woman, they preyed on her and they intentionally damaged the tire to try to get more money out of her. Do not go here, they are thieves and will rob you blind. I will make it my mission to spread the word to all about this unscrupulous business so no one ever has to experiencewhat we have.

I received an estimate yesterday and first off the rate was inflated. To do brakes pads for the front, rotors, 2/drums for the back and brake shoes. The first price was $7+..After complaining, he gave me a price of $600+ then called himself giving me a 10% discount and the rate is now $572. I did the math and called an auto store and found if I buy the parts and paid their labor fees, that would bring the cost to $529. I first checked with the person in charge and was told that I could bring my own parts and their labor fees are $108 per hour. He said it would be 1.1 hour for the front and 1.2 for the back. He told me to come back at 7:30am. I’m there at 7:15, first one. There is a different guy at the counter who informed me that I could not bring my own parts. I explained that I was told I could. He kept asking if I was given a quote. I said just to hear what he would quote. He came back with $350 for labor so I declined and left. It’s sad how business owners no longer care about quality and fair pricing anymore. I understand people have to make money but they must understand that it’s beneficial to keep your customers returning than to lose for life because ultimately, you lose out on money. So, I went to Meineke in Maplewood and not only did the owner used the parts I purchased from a well known auto store but he charged $250 for the labor. They now have a new customer and I will recommend everyone I know who needs service. This business is family owned and the owner is a blessing

I have been going to this Meineke for over ten years with multiple cars. They have the best prices and mechanics. I initially found them through positive google reviews, and they have continued to deliver. Work is always quick and done properly. In addition to all of that, there repair prices are always fair and lower than other mechanics and dealers. I highly recommend them. One huge bonus, they will diagnose your cars problem, and if you arent satisfied with the quote, there is no charge for the diagnosis. This isnt the case at other repair shops. Car repair is expensive, but trust is priceless. You can trust this repair shop not to take advantage of you. Ive spent alot of time in there waiting room getting various cars repaired. I came in after driving past without an appointment. They were able to fit me in. I left my car there while they did an oil change and it was ready in no time. I will be returning again for other services my car may need in the future. They were nice and knowledgeable. I didn’t feel like I was being pressured to get more work done on the car than was actually needed like other places I have been. Awesome!

I went in there and he told me it would be about an hour wait till he STARTS working on my car. But from the time I walked in to the time I was leaving it was just an hour. I was so impressed. And they were really nice which was great.

I recently visited this place after calling ahead. The person assure me they are professional and can fix my problem no matter what it is. I told them my car wouldnt star. After paying a tow truck to take my car there the owner or manager told me that they do not work on Audi cars. Waste of time and money, the year is 2020. If you run an auto mechanic shop but cant fix an Audi you definitly need to quit. ASAP.
