Yesterday at 9pm me and my friend entered the nail salon. She wanted a fast manicure and I decided to get massage in the meantime. Salon works till 9:30. But we got scammed by the workers 🙃 I asked for a half an hour massage but she kept telling that my friend is not done yet and we need to extend it.The other worker started to massage my friend instead of doing manicure for her. She has been asked 4 times to continue the manicure. But she kept telling her “you are so tired so tired!”. The beautiful white shirt of my friend got all dirty with oil. She never took it off. I wouldn’t believe it but they were forceful with massage 🥲We wanted to go home and asked several times to finish the manicure. It was done very poorly. Nail polish was all over the cuticle. She asked to take it off.Time to pay! And…no credit card:) what a surprise. We were forced to get the cash from ATM. Not in the nice way213$ was our total without the tip🙈Even though we agreed for 45$ massage and 33$ manicure…When my friend said that she is not agree with the price and she can’t charge for that quality of the manicure lady aggressively yelled: “do you want me to pay for you nails? I will pay for you from my pocket!!”So we paid and left in shockThe end:)

This place is often empty compared to the other nails salons in the area on 3rd Ave so it’s easy to walk in. I’ve been here a handful of times and their service is decent. Watch out for the ultra pushy manager lady. Very friendly and accommodating and will upsell every single service like it’s good for your health. The other ladies are more genteel and focus on doing a good job.

Its such a good place for me to get my nail done, nice environment, great service, I will definitely visit again!

UPDATE: I was finally able to visit 188 Nail Spa after several months away (thanks COVID) and in desperate need of a pedicure. I have terrible feet, and get severe calluses on my feet as a result, which cause pain when I walk. The women at 188 are MIRACLE workers and my feet are baby soft, with no signs I ever had horrendously dry and callused feet. Seriously - if you need callus removal these ladies are it!This has quickly become my favorite salon for SNS in the area. The technicians do a great job and it usually lasts me 3 weeks!EDIT: posted a photo of my nails after 3 weeks. None of them have even started lifting which is honestly a miracle.

I got dip last Monday and one nail came off completely, now I have to go back again to get it taken care of. It is not worth over a 100, any other salon dip lasts two weeks. I am disgusted.This salon used to be good now has gone downhill. Going to another salon to get it fixed.Stay away!!!!!!!!

This is the worst nail salon ever!!!!!! I spent over $250 on my nails and feet and added massages i didn’t ask for!!!!!! My nails started breaking the next day!!!! Went back to get them fixed and had to pay $45!!!!! They broke AGAIN. Please do-not be a idiot and spend your money here. They over charge for mediocre work:(

They do not speak English and its not possible to explain how you like your nails. They did an OK job but did not leave them at the lenght I wanted.

TOTOAL SCAM walked in for a $ 15 manicure ( no polish ) walked out with a 235$ check, and no receipt. Honestly can’t think of 235$ worth of services that can be done in 45 minutes. Then insisted we pay cash extremely pushy. Never felt so cheated. Complete con artists. DONT GO HERE.

Low quality work at high price, overcharging for everything, no attention to detail or customer preferences! Several nails had to be fixed immediately after. Could not even pick the color I wanted. Very disappointing experience overall, do not recommend!!

Poor quality nails . My polish started chipping 2 days later and my acrylic nails were sealed correctly. Would definitely not recommend

Dont do it. Upsell pressure is absolutely enormous. Not a good experience at all. Chalkboard outside is fiction. Coupons they hand out are fiction. Makes you wonder what other shady things are going on...

Wonderful experience! Nails turned out great and staff was so nice. I will be back!
