Welcoming place but terrible shoe repair!!!I will not use their shoe repair services again. As the attached pictures show, the work is of very poor quality to say the very least, over priced for nothing. Instead of taking your shoes here, find a real shoe repair that you can actually see face to face to see the materials they will be using for the money you pay. These guys outsource the service to someone else whom is not qualified judging from the state of my picked up shoes. The materials and know how is lacking and very amateurish.

I have been a long time customer at Sky Blue. I like the team and they done good job/great customer service in the past. For the past year, the service has changed. Since they have a new guy named David, first is he not very professional nor accommodating, but most importantly he overcharged you for dry clean and tailoring depending on the day, the price should be a set price and not vary depending on who is behind the counter.And once you tell him he said: oh, you can afford it. That is not the point, I spent over $450 for the past 2 months and this is when he says to a customer? Why would you charge me to dry clean a top and put it as a dress which is an extra $10. Very disappointing customer service.They also do not let you know when your clothes are ready for pick up anymore.

So far theyve come through great, but I get another go tomorrow so Ill update after.Update: Added another star, because they are quick and tailor my clothes just right. I plan to go only to them from now on.

I’ve been going to Sky Blue for wash and fold for a while now, and have been happy with them for that service—very convenient, since I live across the street.I recently bought a (cheap) new suit that I needed tailored in a short amount of time, so I brought it to the team at Sky Blue. They did expert work and made the cheap suit look amazing—and they got it done a day ahead of time.To top it all off, the staff has always been courteous, kind, and professional. It’s a great business and I’m always happy to support them. Highly recommend.

Great customer service and quality care of clothing. They also do really good alterations. I had elastics sewn into my sleeves to give them some shape and they did an amazing job turning a dress into a 2 piece.

I dont like leaving negative reviews because I know it can be detrimental to a business, especially a small one, but in this case Im left no other choice. Please see pics.I dropped off my *new* clothing for Wash & Fold. When I came to pick it up the next evening I was not made aware of any problems, but when I got home I discovered that my new $35 shorts had tears and burns that were not present when I dropped them off. It looks like they got stuck in whatever machine was folding them and had to be pulled out. I also had to iron the remainder of shirts and pillow cases that were supposed to be folded because they looked much worse than when I dropped them off.When I attempted to follow up, they did not return my email (it has been 3 days since then). When I came back in person, they advised me that wash & fold was not guaranteed (though the garment policy printed on the wall does not exclude Wash & Fold) but promised to submit a claim to their insurance company and would contact me. After not hearing from them, I reached out and was met with questions like well how do you think this happened?. Their final resolution was to offer me $13.50, which isnt even half the cost of the shorts.Though I was not expecting perfection with Wash & Fold, I certainly wasnt expecting torn/burnt shorts and extremely wrinkled clothes. Quite unfortunate, considering I would have preferred to become a repeat customer.

I’m very particular about the dry cleaners I go to. I have very expensive pieces so of course I want to make sure they are in the best shape. I gave them a total of 7 pieces and just picked them up today. There was an annoying stain on my white Jacquemus dress and they were able to get most of it out. (When it’s pure white it can be difficult to remove as most of us know) it’s not COMPLETELY gone, but honestly no one can notice it. (I will say though, I’ve taken this dress to the dry cleaners 5x before and it came out spotless so I’m not sure id bring this specific piece to them again) They offered to clean it again using stronger chemicals but I’m very paranoid about my clothes so I kindly declined. Though, they also said I have 48 hours to change my mind which is nice so I appreciate the thought anyways. Besides that, they WERE able to remove all the nasty stains on the straps of the dress. Overall, my experience was good and the rest of my pieces came out perfectly fine and nicely pressed. So I think they deserve 5 stars.

Sky Blue is an excellent restorer/cleaner for high-end bags and technical fabrics. They touched-up an old LV leather briefcase I had to an amazing condition (which I using agin now), and a Gore-tex backpack that needed a cleaning and re-waterproofing. They did a phenomenal job on both bags and I would highly recommend them for any TLC work on high end bags and fabrics you wouldnt take to your average cleaner. Many thanks to Darwin and the professional team for doing amazing work and the care taken in each piece. 5 stars!

Use at your own risk.I used their wash & fold and received back clothes that were heavily wrinkled. I will go back to my usual wash & fold place for sure.I also received clothes that were folded inside out, clothes that were clearly washed in a wadded up state (still had dust on them from my floor - I could tell because of the dog hair on them) and just tossed into the bag that way. As well as clothes that I don’t own. 🤦🏻I know they aren’t mine because I am an older disabled adult with a black and purple wardrobe and these were blue toddler socks. Some Mama out there is wondering what happened to her child’s Adidas socks. I have one ☝️!On top of all that, this was by far the most expensive wash & fold I have ever gotten. Just a hair over $40. I usually pay between $20-30. I don’t have a lot of laundry.I also got 2 basic cotton dresses hemmed. $80! The hems are fine but geeze Louise, at that price you’d have thought 💭 I bought a steak dinner for 2!TDLR?Expensive and subpar quality wash & fold: Expensive tailoring - especially for the cost.

I have been to SkyBlue a couple of times over the years - usually to get a quick alteration. Most recently, they took in the legs and waist of some jeans and completely resized what was going to be a donated men’s size lightweight jacket/blazer to have a more feminine fit and not look completely oversized. Always happy with the result!

I had such a wonderful experience with Joel and Nathan. I took my wedding dress here to get custom hemmed, and Joel did such an excellent job. He listened to me, and gave his expert opinion on how to help me achieve what I wanted without ruining the integrity of my dress. Nathan was super professional and made me feel like I was in good hands. I chose Sky Blue because of the great reviews, and they even exceeded my expectation. I was nervous putting my wedding dress in someone elses hands for a few weeks, but they took such great care with it and gave me exactly what I wanted. I cant recommend this place enough, especially for those looking for an affordable place to get wedding dress alterations that will do it right.

Blue Sky Tailor absolutely made my dress dreams come true! I bought this dress and fell in love with it - unfortunately it had the problem many outfits do on me, while the waist and hips were the perfect size, the top was significantly too small.I started shopping around for tailors, and went to Blue Sky because it was close to my home. I’m so glad I did! Nathan was super kind and attentive, and he made me feel comfortable asking questions. I talked to Miguel, the master tailor, and he said that he would add side panels to the dress on both sides to make it work. All in all, I think 5.5” of fabric had to be added! All for an absurdly reasonable price too.I couldn’t be happier with how it came out. I got so many compliments on the dress, and you can only tell it’s been altered if you look for the alterations. I would highly recommend going here and working with Blue Sky!

Sky Blue Dry Cleaning is a rare diamond in the rough. After a poor service experience at a ‘prestigious’ cleaners in NYC, my Club Monaco suit was still in need of service. I researched cleaners, and then double checked my sources (it’s common practice for businesses to purchase great reviews in NYC, which unfortunately leads to bad experiences for those who rely on online reviews without independent verification). The store’s atmosphere was busy and energetic, the employees were in high spirits and friendly. It may be a little out of the way for some but it’s worth the trip to receive a great service. (Great service is waning in NYC, so please remember to tip businesses according to the service you receive: we want great businesses to stay around.)

I was 4 inches larger than I was when I got fitted for my wedding dress. 😮 Sky Blue Dry Cleaning added an additional piece to my dress, replaced the buttons and hid the zipper. The whole back of my dress is different and simply beautiful. They also added sewn in bra cups and did the same with my 2nd dress. One month away from my big day and nervous was not the word. I cried when I tried on my newly altered dress. It is so perfect and so beautiful.The service was fast and exceptional.

I brought 3 very nice dresses to be altered, two of them fancy gowns. One of the gowns had heavy beading and needed lots of altering, and Joel did a meticulous job. All three dresses were the perfect length and fit just right. Also, the guys there are friendly, helpful, and conscientious. I feel lucky to have found Sky Blue and would recommend it to anyone.

First off expect 15-20min waiting to get taken care of at this location. This was our first experince and we were first in line waiting for someone to come to the desk for a while. Someone was at the front working on the clothes and he has to call for someone after 15mins to come to the desk. We came early this week to have my boyfriends stuff dry clean for his interview. On receipt given it was Nathan who he spoke to about having his clothes ready this morning. It notes wed 8/1/18 11am. Nathan assured us it would be ready today in the morning therefore we left the clothes with the verbal agreement it would be ready on time agreed. The time agreed with Nathan was early morning but at the absolute latest was 10am. We are now going back and forth with them because they do not even know where the clothes is and why it isnt ready this morning. They told us to come back at 6pm. We explained our urgency and how we dont want to cause drama but we need these clothes ready asap. We made our first trip at 7:45am at the latest when they told us they didnt know anything about the whereabouts of the clothing. They said to give them until 9:00am so we drove back home to finish sorting things for his interview at 11am. I was generous and had told him at the latest 9:30am we can wait to sort this. At 8:46 they call saying the found the clothing and will TRY and bring it to the dry cleaners by 10am. This is not what i agreed but my boyfriend did so now were are running very short in time and pressed of rushing even more. We are here since 8:57 and spoke to them at 9ish about us waiting outside for the clothes to arrive as now agreed 10am. It is now 9:45 and no sign of the clothes. So far our experience at this location has been terrible at the least. Will defenetly be urging future customers to go elsewhere. Will update review once we get this resolved after 10am. It is now 10:02 and they have not called us.We are demanding a refund if his clothes are bot ready based on 2 verbal agreements not met with either Nathan or this other guy attending the cleaners today.Update: They finally got our stuff by almost 10:20am. This was unacceptable and will not be returning. If it wasnt because we were running late I would of argued a refund and called the police if necessary. This place is poorly ran, poor customer service and dont take their word for anything. They lied to us and were rude to me over the phone but when i went to confront them the guy changed his tune. Tough guys over the phone so be warned. The guy we last spoke to didnt even apologize. No one did. Taking our money elsewhere and leaving this honest detailed review so others dont also run the same risks/headache. Skip this place.

I entrusted several pieces of clothing to Sky Blue Tailors, including a very delicate silk designer skirt with a complicated overlay. I was worried that the material/draping would suffer, but the final product was impeccable! Yolandas careful tailoring and attention to detail was extremely impressive. The staff was friendly and pleasant to work with, and the space is clean and organized. It feels great to have clothing that fits properly, and the prices were very fair. Ill definitely be returning here if I ever need more things tailored.

I’ve worked with a lot of tailors and garment surgeons over the years; from Kenmare Street to the Garment District to Hell’s Kitchen. The guys at Sky Blue rank among the most gifted and reliable. I have a serious day job and have to look seriously good doing it, so even though I live in Brooklyn, I take my wardrobe work horses all the way up to Sky Blue in Harlem for cleaning and alterations. That’s how good they are. Highly recommended. Great value. Five star customer service.

Good work, but WAY overpriced

I live around the corner from sky blue dry cleaning and have brought them every type of item imaginable. Shoes with super messed up soles that need to be reconstructed, bags, jackets so dirt that I never thought in my life would possibly be able to be cleaned, the list continues. They’re a very friendly group of people and always answer any questions or concerns I have. The prices for the most part are very fare for the quality they provide. The best part from my experience is my items are usually always ready earlier than they originally say

I needed a last minute alteration of a choli for a lehenga choli i had to wear to dance at a sagaii. This is my favorite dance outfit but the choli was now tight.Not only were they able to do it quickly but it was a great price, especially for a student like me.

I ran into cleaners, because I ripped my work sweater, literally 5 minutes prior. It was a small hole, just required patchwork and stitching. Darwin and coworker assisted me immediately. Work sweater looks brand new, Great Job! Definitely appreciated the Great Customer service and quick and professional attitude!

I LOVE THESE GUYS!They were directly en route to/from an old job and I haven’t been able to find a tailor/cleaner I like so much since I’ve moved to a different borough. The service is so warm and personal—they knew me on a first name basis and were so welcoming every time I came in.I get almost all of my pants taken in at the waist, which seems like an easy fix—but there’s an art to figuring out how much fabric to take, what shape of fabric to take, etc. These guys were spot on nearly every time and their prices were fantastic.They were also always realistic with me about fit, price and viability of repair/wear with some of my pieces—I buy most of my clothes used or secondhand, so they did lots of spot repairs on splitting armpits or busted seams on vintage dresses or blouses, and they always had a frank discussion with me about whether a piece was actually worth repairing before they took my dress and my money.I’ve referred multiple friends in the old neighborhood to them and they’ve consistently had great results. Quick turnaround, high quality work, affordable prices, great service!

I came to Sky Blue Dry Cleaning after I ordered a new coat from H&M, but it never showed. I decided to get the buttons sown and tightened on my old pea-coat. After speaking with Darwin, I also decided to get the coat dry cleaned. He was very kind and easy on the eyes. I received an email that my coat was ready 2 days earlier than expected! I had the coat for over 5 years and now it looks brand new! Steven was very friendly (also very easy on the eyes). I took a much-loved and much-worn designer wool coat here to get the lining replaced and am very happy with the results. It looks as good as new! The price was less than what I would have paid elsewhere in Manhattan and they even threw in free cleaning. I was a little surprised at first by the 8-week turnaround time, but it was totally worth it and not a big deal since it was a winter coat that I brought in during the middle of summer, anyway. On top of it all, the staff who helped me were incredibly friendly and clearly proud of the work the shop does - a true rarity in NYC!

These guys are the best in town! Took a badly stained coat and turned it into new. Incredible detail. They hem, launder and dry clean very well. Price it worthwhile. Love getting greeted by name, spend time getting to know them and they treat you right!

Very friendly staff, incredibly helpful! Got a coat off the rack and tailored it here, the work was excellent and they came in priced about 25% less than midtown. Only reason not 5 stars is they missed a fairly obvious adjustment that should have been made to the garment, but they fixed it within 24 hours of my returning it.

I just went to Sky Blue for the first time, after checking out reviews of different cleaners in the area. The staff was polite friendly and efficient. Most of all, they did an excellent job of cleaning my two shirts. I had one laundered and one dry cleaned, so, I will drop off more tomorrow, as they have earned my trust and business. It is north of 125th Street, with condo buildings popping up across from it.

Excellent customer service! Darwin, Nathan and the tailor that comes in early in the morning are nothing short of pleasant, and extremely accommodating. On two occassions, I have brought dresses to them just 2 days before needing them, that needed major alterations done. They were able to get the job done, and the work was very good. I highly recommend them for tailoring and dry cleaning services.

They picked up my cleaning, called me to schedule its delivery and asked me for all of my preferences with regards to my dress shirts and my wife’s business attire. They performed Madison Avenue drycleaning quality with friendliness and customer service that is not easily found in the city. Shirts are bright white, properly pressed, creased and collars were starched and smooth. Highly recommend.

Had 4 of my favorite Italian shirts dry cleaned and hand pressed. Two were damaged. One button was broken and one had a hole in it. I was told that these were pre-existing issues and no refund. Given the high reviews I was expecting a high level of service, but were far from it. Will not bring my clothes here again.

Dropped wash and fold off on a Sunday and it was ready the following day. This type of speed is more the norm rather than the exception. The staff really treat their customers well. Excellent work!
