This review is for the substitute spin instructor Jeffrey on July 26, 2021 at the 19th Street location. He was phenomenal! His routine was safe, challenging, and fun. A very difficult combination to incorporate in single routine.I would highly recommend any spin class lead by Jeffery. Since Jeffrey does not have a regular slot at Crunch, I highly recommend Crunch consider him when there is an opening. His positive energy was infectious, and the joy in the studio was almost palpable; like happiness in the air. In closing, Jeffrey was an amazing instructor and it was refreshing to have an instructor who truly enjoys teaching as I have experienced classes lead by instructors with bad attitudes; who seem to take their jobs for granted, and conduct the class like a Communist regime.

With all the gym in the city. This one is the best bang for your buck. I love the brand. The equipment. The locker rooms. Its NEVER dirty. The cleaning staff is awesome. Towels are always available. Its worth it.

I have access to all Crunch locations but this one is definitely my favorite in the area. People go here to actually work out not to people-watch or to be seen. The studio where group classes are held is spacious and airy. The staff is super nice.

This is a nice Crunch gym. Theres only one squat rack and no deadlift area like other crunch locations but the group fitness room is large and fun to take yoga in. For the person who locked their bike to the scaffolding in front, be careful because thrives can open the horizontal frame and just pull the bike out.

I guess crunch 19th street fitness trainers think they are exempt from wiping down machines after they use it and especially when they are with someone else during the clients fitness sessions. They should lead by example. What an abomination.

Ive been a Crunch member for 20 years, and go to various locations around the city.19th street is clean, with friendly front desk staff. Stairmasters and elliptical machines share the first floor with a spacious group fitness studio. The womens locker room is in the basement next to the spin studio. You have an abundance of clean towels, soap and mouth wash, shower gel and lotion available. There are several shower stalls. There are blow-dryers and a magnifying mirror available as well. The reason for one less star is that there have been several instances where air conditioning broke down in the spin studio, which is a small and airless room, making it very challenging to have a good workout, and wasnt fixed for some time.Thats the only real issue I have with my gym overall. When air conditioning breaks, especially in summer, in group fitness studios, and takes several weeks to fix.Otherwise, Crunch 19th street is a very good place to work out.

I cancelled my membership with Crunch Fitness on June 10th under the following California Law: California Health Club Studios Contract - Civil Code - CIV § 1812.85 section (c): I was owed $30.00 for a half month in March as well as $60.00 for the last month of my membership which I paid up front upon signing up (which was obviously never used). I received an email from Crunch on July 4th confirming that they would refund me and that it would take 2-3 weeks. I began following up with them in late July and then in August. They stopped returning my emails and it has now been 82 DAYS since I cancelled my membership and I still have NOT BEEN REFUNDED the $90.00 they owe me and AGREED TO SEND ME. Very disappointed in the way Crunch has handled this situation. Hopefully we can resolve the situation, otherwise Ill have no recourse except filing a small claims court case when e-filing becomes available again in the near future. ATTN: Crunch...before you simply respond advising me to contact the generic email [email protected], please note no one is responding to that email anymore.

Purposefully ignoring my many requests for over two months now to keep my membership paused. Initially I had wanted to pause, but now that Im being wilfully ignored (and my credit card is of course still charged monthly) I am certain I will never be a Crunch customer again. Dreadful customer service.UPDATE (Jan/2021):After months, Crunch has finally refunded me the amount they owed. They apologized profusely, so kudos for the one decent customer service agent who handled that - but I will not forget Crunch continued to charge my credit card for months before getting back to me. Not going back to this gym.

I’ve been to a lot of gyms, and this one stands out! The music was on point and I loved the atmosphere and vibe of the facility. The lighting was really cool and you could tell that the staff and members were really serious about fitness. The women’s locker room even had flat irons, curling irons, mouth wash, and lotion. You could easily get a good workout in and then be able to get cleaned up for a night out.

This is my favorite crunch location ... generally nicer than one of the Brooklyn locations closer to my apartment. Equipment is in good condition and the high ceilings and lighting make it non-claustrophobic. The staff is friendly and the trainers are non-pushy and super respectful. Now and then there are building-wide hot water issues, but this can be true for any gym. When there is hot water (most of the time) these are the best showers in terms of water pressure, better than my apartment for sure. And, this is by far the cleanest of the crunch gyms I have visited. All of these aspects make a trip to this gym a good experience!

As you will see in many reviews online, this place is terrible and mostly because of the shady management. The little guy Mario who is the GM, is extremely rude and dishonest. He will try to rip you off and will lie to your face. My suggestion is to go to a different gym, save yourself the headache. If you do find yourself in this miserable excuse for a gym, keep an eye out for a small guy with a very shiny head, thats Mario. If you blink, you might miss him but if the sun catches his head right you might go blind. Hes not a very nice guy, if you have to go here, try to work with someone else. Also if you look on the various review sites online you will notice many people calling him out by name for being dishonest and ripping people off, so its no coincidence. Not sure why someone would operate like this but one might guess theres a few things hes trying to compensate for. Also to the people who are forced to work with this guy, I feel for you all.

One of the best crunch locations in the city... Good free weights, machines, although everything is pretty tightly packed together. The one awful thing about this location is that the hot water for the showers is constantly broken.right now its been broken for 4 days running. Prepare for an ice shower.

These guys will not leave me alone. I went to try the gym out once and did not like the ambience--loud, dark club with orange walls just is not what Im looking for. They have not stopped emailing me since that day despite me asking numerous times to be taken off of whatever list Im on. Im happily taking my business elsewhere.

Terrible! The actual Place is good but the way they trick customers isnt...-Sold me training sessions without talking about expiration-Sold me a member ship because is the classes without talking about the change of schedule. I know hoe no classes during my free time-No way to get your money back!-surprise 39,99$ charge on my card... I havent been able to go in 3 weeks! I wonder what it could be!- trainers will keep trying to sale you stuff during the whole session... Feels a bit desparate :-/The management is so rude and wont even walk to you to have a conversation ! I could see him from the front desk checking his head like he didnt care!!!Same for the head office that keeps giving you solution complelty out of what you requested.Basically it s only about money... Not about being a right fit for the club...Spent 500$ on my first day and I hate it!

I have a 6 month membership here from a Groupon type deal. It is a clean and nice gym with towels and showering materials. However the layout and large amount of trainers make it hard for anyone to navigate their workout. The upstairs has a tight weight lifting section that has machines all over with only one squat rack.

A really, really under equipped gym. There are medicine balls, but the only wall you can throw them against is behind a treadmill. The instructors are not well trained, nor are they in shape. I’ve never been to a class where an instructor had no idea how to do a push-up. This gym is a lawsuit waiting to happen
