They hire unqualified people with no experience. They convince the worst of the worst to work for them by giving out big titles. Notice how every single employee is a VP? They clearly don’t check references for their own staff. There are way better agencies in NY. Stay away from this one. Huge waste of time. I’d also be embarrassed having my name attached to them.

This company has kids with minimal to no experience in this business. They circulate resumes indiscriminately, and hope for a hit. They gave me two interviews over 6 months. The first one fell through after 5 rounds, only to realize they either asked for too much money or failed to communicate the job was for a junior position. This was too late in the process and waste of time for me. In the second case, three rounds of interviews and then all communication stopped, even though they were supposedly setting up a coding test. These are basically amateur kids, who would rather be doing something else. Avoid at all cost. There are lots of better placement firms.

A very fast paced work environment. They do not reward mediocre talent but if you work hard you will grow fast. Incredible opportunity if you are ready to put in some work and invest yourself. If you are looking for easy money then this is not a place for you. Great benefits, supportive teams and leadership. Definitely not for everyone, only for the best of the best.

Had a very negative experience working with Sal. Sal reached out to me through what was clearly a form mass inmail outreach. I replied asking for more information and we took it from there.Sal took down the wrong salary bracket for what I was currently making and then implied that I was lying when I reminded him at a later date what I currently made. Ahead of a second interview with the firm that was hiring, I received an internal promotion at my current role and decided to politely withdraw my candidacy. Sal asked me what would make me change my mind, and I replied that the role he was sponsoring me for would not be able to compete with my new salary. He replied that something clearly doesnt match up here, implying that I was lying about the original salary quote I gave. He said so the company is essentially giving you 50% raise? that doesnt add up. Since Sal took down the wrong facts about his candidate, he was sorely misinformed about my current range and therefore opted to turn aggressive instead of professional. Losing one candidates commission should never be cause for such behavior. Very disappointing.

I worked with GQR for almost 7 months and got NOWHERE. I was working with Aubrey Gasbarre who is lazy and does not put effort into her work. She did not find me a SINGLE ROLE the duration I was collaborating with her. I wasted so much time with her and she always gave me foolish excuses: Just apply and hope you hear back, I know the recruiter but I cant help you, I have no mandates. What are these people getting paid for if they are a talent acquisition firm?!?!??! 7 months and she could not find a single thing opportune for me.

For all job seekers I want to give an advise while you working with Nick Hewston, recruiter who is working for GQR: do not ! Let recruiter know that you may be getting some offers from other companies. I was honest and I share with Nick that I have a verbal from other company. Nick illiminated me from second interview with company I was interesting to work for after I had successful done with first one. I think job market may suffer because recruiter wants money for himself and he will drop from competition people who getting offers some places else. I feel like i put tramandes effort to get into business where I am now and doors for me may be closed just because first person who will compete for money against me would be recruiter. May be hiring employers should be using there own HR instead if they really want to get quality workers on board and not just have a good deal with recruiter instead.
