What can I say about Betts Recruiting? Probably so much that this post wont do it justice, however I will try.After working in the Public Relations field for a little more than a year, I realized it wasnt the career for me and I wanted to switch into a sales role. However, my resume wasnt fit for sales and I wasnt prepared at all for what interviews are like for a sales position (P.S. It is extremely difficult. Many rounds, people you have to speak with, questions asked, etc.). After being rejected from a sales company in the 2nd round of interviews, I didnt see any way how Id be able to get a job in sales and thought Id be stuck in PR forever.That all changed one afternoon, when a recruiter from Betts named Chris Martin sent me a message through LinkedIn. Chris told me that he had a couple of roles that I might be a good fit for after seeing my profile. Initially I was very skeptical of recruiters and never used them before, but I thought Id hear Chris out.Chris invited me to the Betts office and sat down with me and asked what I was looking for in my next job. I told him I was interested in a sales role because 1. you can make a lot of money and 2. if you do well, you can get promoted quickly. After looking over my resume, Chris sent suggestions to me on how to make it more appropriate for a sales role.After making the changes the day we met, Chris quickly sent it out to a few companies to see if theyd be interested. Literally two days later, I had three phone interviews set up. Before each interview, Chris and I had a 30 minute phone conversation to prep me for the interviews. I can honestly say if it wasnt for the prep, I would have failed miserably. Chris was also very honest with me, telling me what I did wrong so that when I moved on in the following rounds, I wouldnt make the same mistakes.To make a long story short, one of the companies that I interviewed with offered me a job a week and a half later after the initial phone interview. I went into their office for two additional rounds and before each round, Chris prepped me to make sure I was ready. There were times when Chris stayed late at work to speak with me and we even spoke one time at midnight. Thats how dedicated he was to his job and making sure I was placed at a company.Betts Recruiting and Chris specifically were a lifesaver to me. If it wasnt for them, I would probably never get the opportunity to get into sales and would have been stuck in a career that I was never truly happy at.I 100% recommend going to Betts if youre looking for a new position and if possible, try to get Chris Martin as your recruiter. After forwarding my information, based on information found on their site, I received a generic email from someone name Lindsey saying they didnt have anything that fit my qualifications. Found it a bit hard to believe considering the company advertises they fill CSM positions and I have direct experience in this field. Company seems a bit robotic and misleading. However, Lindsey did include a list of 4 sites/companies that recruited for jobs that I DO NOT qualify for. (I know it was a generic email because I received the same email 1hr later ;-).. never had the chance to speak with anyone from the company because the phone number led no where. Based on this experience alone Id have to say No to working with this company. Would have rather ben told we are busy and will reach out later.
