Vet - Ive had a great experience with the Vet and overall staff is very nice/helpful. I would recommend the Vet here and his primary vet at Tribeca Soho Animal Hospital.BE WARNED - there is a staff member who shaves the dogs before ultrasounds or surgeries named Gracie M. My 11.5lb puppy went in for an ultrasound due to digestive problems and was returned to me with multiple cuts and razor burn from being shaved carelessly by this woman. Please see images below. She even cut his private area. Ask that your pet is not seen by this woman as she clearly does not care about animals. Her excuse was that his skin was thin...so upsetting to imagine my puppy going through this.

The amount of care at this facility is unmatched. the doctors are incredible, the staff attentive and the warmth unparalleled. if you need trust when seeking out a vet, look no further.

All are concerned about my doggie. Dr.Lee is the best. She explained everything to me thoroughly. I highly recommend WVVH!

I truly wish I’d found Dr Elliot a little sooner!She is tremendously compassionate and honest. My cat was very close to end of life and many holistic vets refused to see her because of this. She passed and even after a necropsy at AMC there is still no answer why. In the few visits we had I know that my cat felt relief due to her visits with Dr Elliot and I think it was the Chiropractic care she was given. I felt relief too as Dr Elliots follow ups were so heartfelt.It must have been a hard to decision to take her on and I’m grateful. I would highly recommend her in dire or basics need for your pet.

We love West Village Veterinary! We have been taking our dog here for three years now. Dr. Dan Smith is our absolute favorite, but the entire staff is professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. They always go above and beyond, making everything easy and leaving us feeling well taken care of. The hospital is always spotless too. Altogether, consistently the best veterinary experience Ive had anywhere. I highly recommend it.

We love this vet! So thorough and I never feel like they’re trying to rush me out. Very short wait times and all of the doctors are wonderful. My dog literally stands outside and whines anytime we pass... she loves it! I moved to Brooklyn and still bring her here.

The West Village team is always so friendly and welcoming! They treat my cat Greg with such care. Theyre open and transparent with costs, and very thorough in noting what treatments are necessary. This has been my primary vet for my cats since they were kittens. Even during the pandemic they managed to have great service while keeping everyone safe. They are very reliable, knowledgeable and responsive whenever I have needed to take my kitties, even in an emergency.

The team at West Village Vet is awesome. I had an in person visit recently with Dr. Rivera who was very kind and professional. I also see Dr. Elliot as well for holistic care and chiro for my dog. The facility is very clean and great communication with the rest of the support team.

Sent Dr Jill an email about my cat and quickly answered my email! We set up an sppointment for the next day and contacted the office, paperwork sent within 15 minutes.Amazing!Met with vet over zoom. Spent a lot time listening to me and my concerns and then discussed options for treatment.Also say I could email her anytime !Again, office was quick to contact me about treatment, shipping and things.Very happy. Now waiting to start the treatment on my cat!

West Village Vet is wonderful, we have two dogs, one is very difficult about going to the vet and they are amazing with him which is great as he seems to need to go fairly often. They understand and accommodate him and his needs. Cant say enough about them.

We just moved back to NYC from Seattle and were delighted to find them in our neighborhood. The whole team is so sweet and communicative and they handled our often-difficult frenchie mix with such amazing patience. So grateful!

If you want your pet treated properly, DO NOT GO HERE! Save your money for a practice with decent customer service and some bedside manner, not to mention thorough care for your pet. To keep it as brief as possible, this practice failed to diagnose my dog correctly after two separate visits and over $500 spent, to give me no clear direction and a false negative on a fecal test. I trusted my gut and took him for a second opinion at another practice, who immediately took much more care and time in learning the background, doing a thorough exam, and explaining that due to the life cycle of parasites they needed to do another fecal test even though we had just gotten one done by WV. Lo and behold this one turned up positive. Then when I very reasonably requested a refund for their negligence, the managing partner, Dr. Berk called me and continued to arrogantly argue about how they were right and I was wrong and we should agree to disagree. He never once apologized for my horrible experience or for my dogs suffering which could have been eliminated when I first brought him in 4 months ago. They refused to give me any type of refund. Do yourself and your beloved fur baby a favor and go down the street to Heart of Chelsea.

During what was a very difficult week the people at WVVH were so caring and supportive. Dr. Elliott is the most compassionate vet/dr/woman Ive ever had caring for my cat, Jolie. She was so responsive, attentive, and helpful during Jolies lifetime, but particularly during this last week of her life.Brianna the technician went so above and beyond her role to be assist me that I wont be able to ever convey how much her kindness means to me.Dr. Gi had the unfortunate role of being with me and Jolie during the end and she, too, was gentle and supportive. Dr. Gi is THE most qualified Dr there.I was recently told by the front desk secretary of this establishment that the prices were so high because I live in an exclusive, high value, and expensive area (Chelsea, Manhattan) that is passionate about its quality.And that is actually okay, because Dr. Gis work was outstanding for Kennys bladder/neuter surgery. However, having to remind the front office about my insurance claims and forms of payment, leave me completely bewildered. You people, have ZERO problem charging my credit card for $3000+ after an INITIAL PHONE CALL (plus a MULTITUDE of other charges and DEPOSITS for surgery), but take 3-6 days (with constant reminders/phone calls/emails) to submit a simple insurance claim? Even though weve been consistent and faithful customers of yours for years????? You tell me youre EXCLUSIVE and HIGH VALUE yet you cannot even submit a simple insurance claim, nor get your vets to SIGN OFF ON IT within a 3-5 day period?This has been the NINTH TIME (in 9 other claims) this has happened with you people and im pretty well convinced your job is just as cushy as it sounds. Ive BEEN to vets better than you, and you will not be seeing us again in the future. NOT RECOMMENDED UNLESS you have a travel proximity problem with your pet.Dr. Gi still very highly recommended

In other words, I call West Village Vet Hospital a lot... and every time I call, the staff and vets are patient in listening to whats going on, understanding of my concern, and take time to talk it through with me. The vet we see in particular is Dr. Smith, and he is great at talking through options for any issues that may need to be treated. Also, the vets within the practice really work together to make sure we get a response in a timely manner-- so even if Dr. Smith isnt on that day, another vet will get back to us and discuss whats going on. Highly recommend!

I have trusted WVVH with the care of my royals for years. The staff is great, everyone is down to earth and really care for my kids. Dr. Smith and Dr. Hildenbrand are extremely knowledgable and kind. We see Dr Smith a ton and he is really patient with crazy parents like me who need to make sure the kids are healthy. Lily, Tamara and Michelle at the desk are super helpful especially with emergency visits. I can’t say more than trust WVVH with your kids.

I do not joke around with it comes to standards, and i am willing to set the world on fire for my pug loaf.Last Easter, i went to vet after vet, they wanted to perform surgery on my pug without a scan, or they needed 1 month only to schedule a check up.I prayed, and my angels guided me here,Dr. Obyrne went out of her way to fit my pug loaf for cancer surgery right before easter vacation, she saw the severity, and made no excuses. I canceled my trip to paris, and Dr. Obyrne made it happen. My pug loaf is healthy, and better than ever, shes like a 11 year old puppy.The staff is amazing, helpful and friendly,I have never had a bad experience.I felt at ease, because it didnt feel like a shady car repair shop feeling, the people are geniune there.Even as Covid 19 is going on,They are the only ones accepting and reminding me to go get the annual check up and vaccines, while everywhere else is closed.Thank God 🙌As for pricing, i honestly believe,in life you get what you pay for,I only go with here or vetco.Fair is fair, cheap is cheap, dont mix those two up, you and your pet will be fine.Hope this helps anyone make a sound choice.

My 20 year old Siamese was very ill on Wednesday night but I was reluctant to take her to the emergency vet in the middle of the night because that is so stressful for her. I called West Village at 4:30 AM and someone answered (I fully expected a recording) and gave me an appointment first thing in the morning! I took her in and they were wonderful, I had been there some years back and also had an excellent experience but have been using a housecall vet. They communicated with me every step of the way so even though the appointments are drop -off only, I felt connected. Dr. Hildebrand was kind, called me back, patiently answered my many questions and I felt she really cared. I would definitely recommend them.

Really love this team. They are efficient, thorough, kind and accommodating. My girl hates going to the vet and quakes the whole time, but they are always so kind and sweet and gentle with her, it means a lot to me. Their reception is on the ball and very helpful, and their service when it comes to travel papers is brilliant, thank you!

We visited Weat Village Veterinary Hospital for the first time when my dog had an issue and we needed to get him in right away. They treated us like we had been going there for years and were both professional and kind.

Dr. Smith is very professional and personable. He always conveys costs associated with procedures or tests to get the pets guardians approval prior to conducting them. He explains the benefits and level of necessity in an even, reassuring manner. We take our two cats to WVVH and appreciate the sincere care and concern.

DO NOT GET THERE EARLY. They make you and your pet stand outside on 8th ave and wait (even if its raining). After being on hold for 10 mins, they finally answered and said they hadnt called my previous vet to get records...I understand COVID makes things harder, but its not an excuse to be unprofessional. The streets are a stressful place for an animal to begin with, never mind one whos not feeling well. If this is a formal process, they should have at least had the foresight to warn you. Needless to say, I will not be going back.Disclaimer - I am not a Karen, this is probably the 4th review ive ever written.

Not enough great things to say about Dr. Hildenbrandt and the rest of the staff here. I had a scary emergency with my pup yesterday, Im also 8 months pregnant, so I was having a little meltdown in the office. They talked through all options with me to get my fur baby healthy again, took such amazing care of her for the hours I was in there, and helped me feel better/calm down as my hormones were rampant throughout the entire process.She was super understanding and compassionate. The nursing and front desk staff were wonderful as well. We had our follow up visit today which went perfectly and we have another tomorrow until were officially out of the (scary) woods! This was my Stellas secondary vet but decided to rush her here as it was closer to my office, best decision I made and I will be switching to make this her primary from here on out.Very grateful for the love they showed my girl and for them understanding how important she is to me.

My first experience at West Village Vet Hospital was with holistic Dr Jill Elliott.When I contacted the office to make the appointment, I spoke to Lily . Who was wonderful, kind and very helpful. I feel like the first experience with any front desk is almost as important as the visit with the doctor herself. It sets the tone, for what the experience will be.I knew I made the right choice before setting foot at the office.Dr Jill Elliott was very knowledgeable with homeopathy, answered all my questions and concerns .Then this week it was time to neuter my kitty.The surgery was scheduled with Dr Joanna Rosen ( Dr Elliott doesn’t perform surgeries ). I had never met her before. I was a nervous because only one of his testicules had descended, so it was set to be a little bit more invasive than a standard neuter.First I met Natalie the vet tech, who was really nice and welcoming and took his weight . Then Dr Rosen arrived, greeting us with a huge smile and gushing at how cute my kitten was. She was VERY patient, I had tons of questions and addressed all my concerns.Leaving the office I was reassured my cat was in good hands with Natalie and Dr Rosen. Everyone at the front desk was really nice and Lily was there as well to greet me .Once the surgery was over Dr Rosen called me. My cat was extremely lucky, thanks to Dr Rosen he didn’t need that more serious surgery with general anesthesia and loads of stitches. She somehow managed to push down the testicule and was able to perform a regular neuter. Not only did it reduced the stress and recovery time for my kitten but it also saved me a lot of money!I had contacted other vets for a cryptorchid neuter and I received 2 quotes, 2 to 3 times the price that Dr Rosen had quoted me; since she managed to perform a standard neuter it was even cheaper than her initial quote!Not only is West Village Vet Hospital professional, clean and kind but also honest and affordable ( which I’m sorry to say is not very common).I couldn’t recommend them more.It takes me at least 45min to get to their office but I am willing to go there because I know that when I go, my pets will be given the uttermost care!( I’ve had cats for the past 19 years, have lived in many different states and continents ! And I have to say they are at top of my list for the best vets ! If I could give them 6 stars I would )

EVERYONE here is incredibly nice and helpful, just what you need when youre bringing a loved one in for care. Our doctor was great about speaking with us through every step of our cats care, making sure we understood the issues and were OK with the next steps of treatment. I took in homeless puppy from Italy this summer and brought him to NYC. The nice people at WV VET hospital helped me translate all my Italian paperwork, and continued his other vaccinations. Theyve been sweet and helpful, and for a first time dog owner, very comforting to know they are there to help and keep my dog healthy! He also loves it there and tries to go in every time we pass by. Highly recommended!

Though I believe that the veterinarians have the best intentions, I was not a fan of being charged for a second consultation for an issue that was overlooked on our first visit. On our first visit, an ear issue was not paid close attention to and over two days the issue got worse. I called to see the vet, but she was not available so they scheduled me with a different vet. She did not do a scrape of the ears because she was afraid of my dogs ears bleeding, which is understandable, but I think we could have found out a little more with a minor scraping. When I left to pay for our second visit, I was charged the full consultation fee plus the meds. In two days, I paid $300 to see two different vets and to get the medication. Fast forward to me getting my dog groomed a week later (ear issue still not resolved) and the groomer took off the scabs. No bleeding. Dogs ear issues are resolving. I should have told the young lady at the desk not to charge me for my second visit since it was overlooked on the first visit, but I was in a hurry and I did not want to argue. I really did not appreciate being double charged for an issue that should have been addressed on our first visit. The first vet seemed to be in a hurry to go on vacation and kept calling my dog a she when he is male. I am all about attention to detail and while the facility is very clean, and I think that the vets do care genuinely care for animals, I am on the fence about whether I would take my dog back. Also, one of the young women behind the desk told me that my dogs blood work came back negative, however we did not have blood work done. I informed the woman that we did not have blood work done and she repeated the results to me. I then told her again that we did not have blood work done and she then realized that she was talking to the wrong pet owner. She seemed unfazed by the fact that she was divulging information to the wrong clients. She also thought that Spain was part of the UK, but thats a whole other story. Overall, unfortunately, I dont think that we had the best experience. I really wanted this to be our NYC veterinary care facility, but I think we will have to go elsewhere, especially if we are being charged double for issues that should have been addressed in the first visit.

Great vets. T wont be cheap but do you really want to be cheap with you pets health? They really love our two yorkies, you can tell they are passionate about what they do. And though I have never had to take them for anything big, I would only trust them.Totally recommend the place.

We had a horrible experience here. They seemed more concerned with making money off us than helping our beloved and elderly dog. They suggested surgery before even trying antibiotics, and refused to provide basic services without high costs. Try Greenwich Village Animal Hospital instead. We appreciated our neighbors who shared that suggestion with me, so are passing the word.

We took our first dog in Ellie for a vet check up. The vet was very knowledgable and helped answer all of our questions. From the reception to the nurses and the vet they were all so nice to deal with. Ellie will be back soon for her next shot!Would totally recommend.

Dr. Jill Elliott is an extraordinary vet, and I am forever grateful for her help with my dog!Two weeks ago, my 9.5 year old dog Comet was admitted in an ER in NJ with what seemed like a herniated disc. I was told he needed immediate surgery, which I could not afford, and that he would most likely never walk again on his own. He came home from a 3-day stay at the hospital drugged up, unable to move, having lost control of his legs, and leaking pee/poop non-stop. He was in such bad shape I thought we would have to say goodbye.But just one visit with Dr. Elliott (which involved two laser and one chiropractic treatments) changed everything! Comet regained control of his bowels on day 1. He began moving on day 2. He started eating again on day 3. He regained control of his urination on day 4. He walked with help on day 5. On day 8, we did a second series of treatments, and my dog walked out of the vet clinic on his four paws, without me supporting his back! On day 9, he was able to start trotting and tried running.Comet feels so good he smiles all the time!Dr. Elliott saved my beloved pet. Quickly. Painlessly. And in a very caring way. And at an affordable price.I cannot thank you enough, Dr. Elliott, for what you did for Comet!

My Japanese Chin, Boo, had his neutering here and now visits here for normal routine care now that we have moved from Battery Park City (we went to the BPC location before). The vets here are warm and caring, both towards pets and people! I wouldnt take Boo anywhere else. It is also especially convenient that this vet has Saturday appointments!

Truly caring, compassionate and helpful veterinarians, assistants and desk staff. My pets have been under their care for many years. My only quibble is the turnover among the veterinarians. There was just one veterinarian I saw twice before she moved on. The others just once. Nonetheless I wouldnt think of taking my pets anywhere else.UPDATE: A happy client of WVVH recently referred me to Dr. Hildenbrand re. problems with my elderly cat. I am so pleased with this veterinarian--her knowledge, her careful diagnosis, her follow up, her bedside manner with kitty and parent. I so hope she stays with this practice.

Loved Lucy O’Byrne and am so sorry she left (she had a baby). I wish that the people at the front desk were as friendly as the people they replaced. We lost. Our Ruffy who was living thanks to Dr O’Byrne. I wanted her to know. My husband says he can’t go through it again. I want a new fur baby although I’ll never forget our Ruffy.

Dr. Hildenbrand is such a great doctor. Actually every Dr and nurse weve seen have all been amazing to my cat Leon. Hospital is clean and the staff are very friendly. Luckily we have Nationwide pet insurance so cost isnt a major factor. But with that aside, the vets have all been great and never once recommended anything unnecessary. We buy all of Leons prescription food with them as well and he loves it! Thank you WVVH!

Friendly and competent staff and doctor. Vet takes time to understand your concerns and answers all questions thoroughly. Quite pricey, but well worth it for the comfort of a healthy pet!

Even though our cat was very badly behaved, the staff here are wonderful. We are a huge fan of their no fear policy, as our cat is easily stressed and has heart problems. Highly recommend!

Cant say enough good things about Dr. Lee and the staff at West Village Veterinary Hospital. They helped my cat - and me - during the cats terminal illness. Dr. Lee did everything she could to help make my cat comfortable and calm, from diagnosis thru palliative care, right up to the very end. Her compassion, kindness, skills -- helped us get through an awful time..The practice is clean, well-run, with smart and caring staff and doctors. I highly recommend West Village Veterinary Hospital.
