Pedro at Dr. Brendans did a fantastic job of installing on old operating system on a new hard drive on my old Mac in record time for a good price. He is, in addition to being a highly skilled technician, also a very nice guy. Only slight downside is that (when I called at least) the person who answers the phone isnt the technician so I couldnt get really detailed information about my situation over the phone, but thats a pretty minor quibble. One month ago, I brought my IMAC to Dr. Brendan Mac Repair after having been told at the Apple Genius Bar that my computer was too old to be fixed. The tech at the Apple store in Soho recommended that I contact Dr. Brendan Mac repair. I called, checked in and dropped my computer. The issue was the display/screen, and it was fixed in a flash (considering that my computer was doomed!) The team is very professional, competent, organized, and courteous. My experience with Dr. Brendan was stress free, and all my questions were answered amicably. In my opinion, Dr. Brendan should always be the first choice to fix any apple devices. This was my third time using these guys. Pedro working there saved my wife’s work life. I went in the evening and he immediately opened up the back cover and gave it a few tests. After giving me options on repair, my wife and I decided we just wanted to get a few files transferred to a different drive. Horrible service. Been coming here for years, but reading other reviews, I think the owners may be new. After my last experience, will never go back again. The screen they installed on my phone literally just cracked while I was holding it a few weeks after, and then they called me a liar when I told them what happened. Even though Ive been going there for eight years (sometimes multiple times a year!) and in past years never had an issue. Just went to another repair place to finally get it fixed and they told me the quality of screen they used wasnt great. So I feel a bit vindicated now, even though Im sad Ill never return to this place that Id recommended to friends for years!

This is my second time going to Dr. Brendans and Im very thankful I did. They fixed an issue two years ago, and the issue came back (because of time) and I knew they would be an amazing help. This was a HORRIBLE experience. I have been a customer for years and I recommend so many people. The pricing is never the cheapest but its always fair, clear, professional and the work is good. However I am so upset after this time. I am trying to fix an extra laptop I had for someone in need, I waited two weeks to save my extra money for this after your quote. And now $700 ($200) more than anticipated was taken from my account. Leaving me with no extra money for this weekend (Im a business owner myself and just opened another new venture making finances difficult).Now not only can I not get this computer fixed to help someone  but this is SO WRONG. You went ahead and charge my card more than I agreed to... how can you do that to someone? If there were going to be additional charges or the price changed from what you emailed me then you SHOULD HAVE LET ME KNOW. Theres no excuses and you should have honored the pricing that I agreed to.I will NEVER COME BACK, and I will NEVER recommend someone again. Dropped the MacBook off Saturday, they said it would take one day to repair and to come in by Sunday 3 pm to pick it up. I Called Sunday to come check in for when to pick it up, said they were closed. got there Monday and they weren’t really sure what was going on. Best place to get your apple products repaired.

I recently had a repair done on my 2011 MacBook Pro. These guys are the best! They diagnosed a loud fan issue and fixed it basically while I waited next door. I couldnt find any resolutions online. These guys diagnosed it over the phone without even seeing the laptop and I brought it right in. Ive worked on apple computers for 30 years. Also dealt with repairs. This was one of the best by far.

Used them last year and had a great experience. Came back this year and had had a completely different one. They are now run out of a messy closet and I got a completion email 5 days before it was done and had to go in three times before it was done. All for a 45 minute fix of a part that is common. The fix is good but I expected much better costumer survive and a shorter fix time when I spend 500 dollars.

Dr. Brendan was excellent- after spilling coffee on my laptop, my Mac stopped turning on. They were able to diagnose and repair at no cost, saving me hundreds of dollars in repair and data recovery. Excellent customer service and very honest, would use again.

Ive used them several times before and recommended them highly. BUT they have fallen far from those days. The shop is now half the size, and the repair room looks like a dirty closet rather than a proper repair room for electronics. The worst is they seem to be using cheep parts to repair screens now. My cracked screen was replaced by one that was slightly thicker, had a ridge on the side you could easily feel, and caused the LCD screen below it to shift tones if you turned it. The extra thickness of the screen made the fit in my case extra tight and it cracked within a week from just basic use. The glass eventually broke. They refused to replace the screen or in any way try and solve this issue. They said I could pay a reduced rate of $60 for a new screen. I once liked this place but will never go back, by the looks of it they might be closed by the end of the summer anyways. Too bad.

I went in just before noon on a Wednesday with my 3 year old and broken LED light base in tow.They fixed it immediately (needed a little soldering only) and didnt even charge me for it. Amazing--that doesnt happen often in NY! Ill definitely go back with other broken electronics.

SO I Just called because in the past Dan ( Manager/ Owner? ) has said he could sell parts, so... Today I called, and I asked for a part.. ( iphone 7 plus proximity sensor.) The tech on the phone was less then helpful and said we dont sell parts.I asked to speak with Dan and he said hold on. He asked Dan and returned to the phone to say Dan said No I called back to see if I could pay for the price of them to fix it and not have them fix it. Offering 60$ for just a simple 20$ proximity sensor. I was told no again, and If i have Dans cellphone to call him and ask why not It is almost entertaining that shops would turn away business even if its someone they consider competition. I suppose this is why Shops like this Do not stay open or grow like other companies. Very dissatisfied with the service provided today. I will stick to the other local shops.

Pretty fast turnaround. I got my 2012 Macbook pro LCD screen replaced. They did ask me if I wanted a hard drive from them (since I took mines out) which means theyre pretty thorough. Very competitive price for screen replacement! Really friendly service and it was easy to schedule/send in/pay.

Unfortunately, i have needed their services for my cracked phone many times and it’s always returned better than when I left it. Beautiful screen, cleaned ports. Price is very fair. They know their stuff and you can easily kill the hour it takes them to fix it at Barcade next door. Highly and full-heartedly recommend.

Great service, very quick and professional. It was a long day for me yesterday! I was in Apple Store first, trying to fix noice coming from my laptop. But I had to go to another, third party service, which in fact was Dr Brendan Store, where issue with my laptop (noice from vent) was fixed just in a few hours! The problem was with battery, after battery was replaced, noice simply disappeared! And Dr Brendan technician, who solved this issue, insured me, that its pretty common problem with MacBooks that have old battery. Vent system gets hot because of old battery, so it works constantly, and eventually creates loud noice! I was surprised and very disappointed, that despite diagnostics of my laptop in Apple Store, did show RED LICHT with battery diagram, i was not proposed to simply replaced a battery! Non of three Apple store technicians, who worked with me, did not say anything about possible cause of noise coming from vent system. They were just insisted of flat rate services, which is about $600, and more then 5 days, which is pretty much cost of my lovely, only 6 years old, but already VINTAGE laptop, (as i learned from yesterday Genius Bar specialists). Another popular topic in yesterday conversation was extended repair period because of coming Thanksgiving. Very sad that despite Apple produce such a great computers, that, i think, most of us love, their service is only about to lead you to new purchase, instead of increase period of exploitation of old computers, which in fact means real sustainability! I wanted to really like the place. They seemed cool, but the guy who took my information barely spoke english. This wouldnt be a problem except for me having to explain quite a few times what the issue was. In the end they didnt get it resolved and promised to call back with a solution. 4 days later nothing. I retrieved my drives and said thanks. Doubt I would go back. If you have a simple problem they may be able to help.

My MacBook hard drive died and needed to be replaced along with data recovery. They were very professional and walked me through each step of the process. I was given an estimate with HD replacement and data recovery options. I trusted that I wasn’t going to get ripped off but watch out for incremental pricing if you need your data recovered. I was very satisfied with the outcome and would recommend them to anyone who needs repairs to their Mac products.

These are trustworthy, upstanding folks that you can trust with your Mac, iPhone or iPad. Quality work, good value. I had a tiny object from my pocket wedged in the headphone jack of my phone but didnt have tweezers small enough to get it out myself. A 2 second fix for them they were kind enough to pull it out no-charge.

I went into the place back in 2015 & they did a pretty good job. I recently go in (2019) & this is a REAL REVIEW ! & they fix my phone but my bottom screen randomly started glitching. I go back in so the Chinese man behind the desk can fix my phone *he did not fix the phone, someone else in the store did* & the phone started working perfectly fine. 1 month down the line & the bottom portion of my phone starts to glitch again. Now, being that I no longer reside in NYC ... I can’t go back and get my phone fixed at the same place. If I was you, save your time and stop being CHEAP !!! & just go to apple and have them fix your iPhone screens. They also take parts without disclosing it.

Went there yesterday as my work colleague, like me, wrecked the screen on his Iphone - I dropped mine face down from 18 high on the riven granite at the 911 memorial. Totally shattered. These guys accepted me as a walk -in at 5PM, told me I could come back in 45 mins and it would be done. It was too. This service and the staff attitude alone would drive me to do this review but the true test is when things go wrong... Later that same evening, when answering calls, my ear kept dialing out or muting the phone. Turns out the proximity detector was also damaged but not discovered when they did the screen replacement.so I went back today. Again the very calm and helpful reception woman told me to come back in a half hour and they would sort it.... They did too and replaced the part at no further cost to me.!If I could give them six stars I would. Go there- you will not be let down.Thanks Guys!

I went to best buy to try to get my macbook repaired, but thes said itd take 2 weeks for the diagnostic and would cost $99 just for the diagnostic! Dr. Brendan did the diagnostic in a matter of hours and repaired it within a day! I am genuinely so impressed and so grateful. They also replaced my e key that I was missing for free!

Dan and the team here are very helpful. Have had my gadgets, fixed here since years now, my macboo, iphone have never been fixed better, the team are fast, efficient, affordable, and friendly, excellent service.

They replaced my graphics chip and that worked out OK, although it took a long time. But the clueless millennial at the front desk doesnt know how to use the telephone... I gave him my credit card info over the phone (which is what they asked for) and he lost it, or didnt enter it in their system. Then, I called to make sure that was OK and asked them to also upgrade the RAM. When I picked up the computer, no RAM upgrade was installed. What can I say? Until they fire that guy and get somebody new, its going to be hit and miss at this shop.

Staff is efficient but not personable at all. Very robotic and the place lacks positive energy. Lots of construction going on in there so please bring some ear plugs or headphones. My iphone screen cracked and they did replace it but they replaced it with a old android LED screen and it looks terrible. When i asked the staff members about it he acted as if thats normal even though I showed him how it should look because I have another iphone on me. I feel like I got scammed. I will not return to this place.

New ownership - avoid wasting money. Had my screen fixed here and the screen broke again twice in the next week. The first time they fixed it 2nd time refused to fix and wanted to charge me full price. When I brought it to another store they saw it’s because they’re using cheap parts.

They do a free diagnosis of any Apple/Mac product. On my recent trip to them, I brought my 10 year old Mac Mini which wouldn’t boot. Thy replaced the HDD with a SSD. Hopefully I can get a few more years out of the computer! The technicians seem very knowledgeable, however the young kids at the desk aren’t cool. Idk what they’re deal is...

They replaced the screen of my ipad, but unfortunately didnt seal it properly or adjust the case (as it was allegedly bent, although the cracked screen had not been popping up). I returned there for the repair (under warranty from them so no charge) 4 times before they fixed the problem. now there is dust / debris under the screen but i will absolutely not be returning to them. Friendly staff, and although inefficient, they did it for a reasonable price.

I am especially grateful because the day after I shattered my iPhone, I had a super important event and I didnt want my phone to look the way it did. I had a super busy day in the office preparing for the event but that didnt matter because a technician came to my office and replaced the screen at my convenience. Long story short, Dr Brendans Mac Repair is a must for iPhone casualties.

While I greatly appreciate these guys not charging me for a diagnostic and also having competitive prices, their customer service is another story altogether.After dropping my monitor off, I was later emailed with a one liner that they couldnt repair the unit (with zero mention of what the next steps would be). Also, when I attempted to ask a simple follow up question, I was ignored.After 3 days of no reply, I gave up and decided to pick up my monitor. Only to find a visibly frustrated customer service rep after asking him to try one more time to reproduce the issue - something that took 30 seconds by the way. (I asked this of him because another rep could indeed reproduce the issue when I initially dropped the monitor off).After the rep regretfully conceded to help me, he was puzzled that he couldnt connect a mini-display cable to a brand new Retina MacBook Pro. I then had to explain to him he needed an adapter for that. This is basic Apple knowledge.Finally, a knowledgeable tech came out to assist, only to give me zero recommendations on what the issue could be or what I should do next.

I was quoted one price over the phone and was given a much higher one in person. My iPad was supposed to be ready in a week and it took nearly a month. When I arrived at home with my iPad I noticed the back of it had a brand new scratch underneath where my work order receipt was taped to conviently hide it. Tried to support a small business, but will be taking my broken devices to apple going fwd.
