I had a STELLAR experience with this rental location. It was (based on my recollection) my first time renting from Alamo.1) PRICE: I went with them because their SUV rates were the best I could find for a multi-day cross-country move from NYC > LA between Christmas and New Years Day.2) CUSTOMER SERVICE: I went into the location on Christmas Eve expecting a long line--especially because were living in Covid times--but was able to zip up to the desk immediately and was warmly greeted by two lovely people. We started talking about my move to LA and they took care of me to ensure I had a comfortable cross-country trip. I had a few questions about some minor scratches on my rental and the attendant educated me on what to look for vs not and quickly showed me some literature on NY guidelines, which was a great learning experience for me!3) RENTAL CAR: The car was in great shape and very clean.4) DROP OFF: Was very quick and easy.I would absolutely with Alamo again for my next rental!

Wish I could give them 0 star. We reserved a car 3 weeks in advance, but when we went there to pick up. They told us no car available. Can’t believe this. Horrible service! Do avoid Alamo!!!!! I have never had this issue with other rentals.

Do not book here. It’s a scam company. My booking got cancelled less than 1 hour business hour before the booking. No offer of compensation or empathy for the customer. I made plans with friends to go upstate and now have to cancel those tickets too. Out of pocket because these buffoons don’t know how to run a business. Called their call center too and the response was to call the branch, which was closed.

The staff were very nice and helpful. However, because they didnt have the Ford Expedition or equivalent that I had reserved, I had to upgrade to a premium SUV (Navigator) because it was the only car big enough to accommodate my needs. They gave me a break on the upgrade but I think I should have got it for free. Also, the Oil change needed kept appearing on the dashboard and we eventually had to spend 2 hours of our vacation in a Firestone shop to have the oil changed. Other than that the car was in very good condition.

Very pleasant experience renting from this location. Trey (?) the manager, we very helpful. Because the location is in on the middle of Manhattan, they cannot ensure a full tank at rental time so I was told that I should return the car three quarters full. This was an irritation because its very difficult to return a car with the exact amount it had when rented unless it started full. The branch kindly credited me $10 for the inconvenience. I ended returning it with a gas tank closer to full but without any resentment because of the credit they gave me. They were also very personal and customer oriented. I would definitely rent from Alamo at this location again.

I have rented cars all across Manhattan, Ive shared in the horror stories from budget garages running out of cars, waiting hours on a saturday in the summer, missing events because the car was coming from JFK on a Friday afternoon. Michael Calderon and his staff at this Alamo location are the best in the business. I have rented from this location 10 times and have always had great customer service and an outstanding rental experience. If youre in Manhattan and need a car, this is the only location to look at. Its worth the 10 dollar cab ride to midtown to get a great consumer experience and rental, trust me.

I waited 20 minutes for my group to arrive, while there I observed Andrew and Trevor hard at work. Every customer was greeted and taken care of IMMEDIATELY by these two. 5 star experience from start to finish. The car we were assigned only had a quarter tank of gas, so they offered to switch it (but we decided to keep it). Car was in a great state, and the return process was super fast and simple.

Needed a cheap last minute one way from NYC to Boston and Alamo fit the bill. Nice, new, clean, upgraded car. Everyone was very friendly. Very smooth rental.

The overall service works very well. I have to say that initially I had a misunderstanding but they reached me later taking full responsibility and solved the problem. Their service works smoothly and instils confidence. The company takes care of your final experience even if human error happens. Ill using their services again in the future.

Terrible terrible experience for me. Rented a car on Jan12, returned the car on Jan13 evening as agreed. Estimated amount for the rental was 232 USD. Couple of weeks later I see on my credit card statement, Alamo charged me 757 USD for the rental on my credit card. When I ask why, manager Jakob Whistling says -In the system the return date is Jan17-. I tell him, I returned the car on Jan13 and he shall check his system and video recordings. Since then silence from Alamos part. No reply from branch manager to my emails, no reply from Alamos customer service, which I contacted via email. And I have to keep on chasing my money to be returned from all the way here in Turkey. Terrible experience for me with such a big company.

This branch was CLOSED! Apparently there was a fire in the garage. I wasn’t informed despite checking in a day earlier. Was really frustrated when I went there to pick up my car. My wife and I had to then towed our luggage’s in pouring rain to take the subway to the 58th Street branch!However it did turned out well at that branch. We had great services (thanks - Travon & Tracy), a car upgrade, free toll device, and discounts. Presently still enjoying the month long rental ...

Returned a one way rental to the Alamo w 44th location. The vehicle wouldnt fit in their garage but I was instructed by Alamo customer service to leave at the location. The manager TRAVON BUTLER assured me he would take care of the issue. A few weeks later Im charged with a parking ticket the vehicle received the day after I returned it. TRAVON didnt check the vehicle in till the next day and lied about the time I returned it. Blatant fraud and Im left on the hook for $129. Alamo wont refund me because TRAVON BUTLER provided a FALSE time of return. STAY AWAY FROM ALAMO, WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER.

Worst experience i had. Very rasist staff even though they had problem of shortage of cars i arrived just 30 mins later than my booking time they were so rude to tell me they have no car just go. Then on resisting they said wait in queue with other clients. I was first on list for queue and they kept me waiting for 4 hours and gave cars to atleast 7 more people who came after me before they gave me a 2 door car where my booking was for full size. Than later after wait they gave me full size car with 1/4 of tank filled and noisy airconditioning vent.Snd during the course the manager literally was rude with me by throwing the license back to me on table saying go we dony have cars when i said i need full size and dont need 2 door car as i have 2 kids to fit with car seat in back.They didnt discount me at all accept that 1/4 worth of gas.Will never go for National / Almo again in my life..

Terrible location. They arbitrarily moved my reservation time from 9am to 12pm and then at 12pm they had no more cars available. Wasnt able to make it to my familys holiday reunion because of Alamos incompetence.

Rented there now for over 10 times so far no issues. Their service even increased in the last few months.

Run from this l9cadora.Personal just want to wrap you up in the check in windows. Trickster and in bad faith. We have already rented a 2x car and in 2x the experience was terrible. They wanted to sell me the Tool Pass on a road that had no toll ... pure trickery.

We were very badly received by a bitter lady. We are French and have a blue debit card like most French people and despite our online reservation she could not give us a vehicle. Then I can understand the substance but there is the form and there no kindness and coming from the person but really. We found it disagreeable and expeditious. I strongly advise against.

We had reserved a powerful road we had a low-end kia soul ... they bought us a fuel option without consulting us when we had filled the tank before returning the vehicle ... staff at the reception not very friendly more ! And no way to negotiate the return of the vehicle for the reimbursement of this option and the difference in the category of the vehicle ... in short, take another rental agency, many in the heart of New York.
