Literally the best haircut I’ve had in my life. I am a person who always wears glasses (contacts just dont work for me). After every haircut in my life, I can never see the finished product cause my glasses are on the table and I’m too shy to ask. This was the first place ever that was like “here are your glasses so you can see.” The attention to detail and quality was 10/10.
As I was leaving, Kai said Excuse me, you didnt tip. She called me back as I was walking out the door. I found this to be extremely rude given that she only spend 5 minutes on my sons haircut and he was not properly cleaned up with hair all over his neck and face. I paid $25 for 5 minutes. She had other clients waiting and rushed through my son.Last time I was there, I tipped $10 to a male barber for a $25 haircut because he took the time to properly cut and clean up afterwards. You earn your tip. Do not demand it.
Another GREAT haircut for the price of 2 Craft beers. Have been using them since way back when they only had the midtown location, NOW in my neighborhood.Other Stylists have commented on the high quality of the scissor cut ( not some west village electric trimmer Army style cut) and cant believe how low the price is.A great value, clean, fun friendly and fast. You owe it to yourself to try
Wow, dont go to this location. I have been going to the other QB locations for years and theyre great. The minute I sat down at this location I noticed the barber was rough and seemed unskilled. I then felt his hand slip and he took a chunk out of the hair on the back of my head with the shaver and had the gall to say that I happened never to have hair in a random spot on the back of my head. Insanity. They then forgot to clean up the loose hair on my head and his treatment was so rough my head hurt afterwards. This has almost made me lose trust in QB as a chain.
Best barber I’ve ever been to, I forgot her name she’s really good and she did exactly what I said I already recommended to my friends they love the place too so if you’re looking for a clean and speed haircut at cheaper price in nyc you definitely gonna love it 😃✨
Female barber gave me a really bad haircut today. I started my haircut way later than the guy next to me yet finished before he did. She cut my hair in 10 mins and didn’t polish it the way other QB locations have. I’ve had the same buzz cut at all the QB locations but this time it’s the worst. Looks like a cheap $4 cut in Chinatown.
I like this place a lot. Consistent, clean and super hygienic by all standards. They’ve recently raised their prices..by a lot which takes away from the value component. Overall it’s a decent quick haircut.
I really wanted to love it, but...Female reviewer, here. Friendly staff and clean. But... if you’re a female, don’t get anything more than a cut for split ends. If you’re a guy, stick to a buzz cut.I’m not exactly unexperienced and have friends who cut hair for a living, so I know my request wasn’t out of ordinary. In any event, I got assigned a male stylist, who ‘s perhaps only used to working on male haircuts.Won’t even recommend for bangs. I had it fixed at another hair salon, blunt edges shaved off and sculpted to create a silhouette like the photos I had shown him. I’m sure he tried, but the result doesn’t merit recommendations to female friends or new female customers.Note they don’t have a phone. You can make reservation online. Couldn’t figure out how to make changes.
GIRLS AVOID THIS PLACE!! That woman barber didn’t even try to give people a decent service! Me and my roommate both got terrible haircut from her, my roommate even cried a little after losing her beautiful hair. This woman barber don’t listen to people at all, she just want to finish her work in 10 mins. Wondering why she still got the job.
This has been my regular place for haircuts, super nice stylists and very efficient. You put your items in the cabinet right by your chair, and they disinfect all of their scissors/combs/etc. There is a vacuum that they use when done with the haircut which gets a lot of the hair off. At the time of this review, it is $23 for a walk-in cut, and $25 if you ask for a specific stylist ahead of time. Tipping is cash only, so be prepared for that.Place is super clean, and they clean and wipe down their station between cuts.
Professional friendly staff that work fast and efficient. Extremely clean place.
Love this place! Great price & haircut, super nice owners
Ive been here several times before with very good results. But wow, my most recent haircut was awful. My barber was an older guy. He suggested my back have a natural cut which I assume to be a smooth gradient tapering to the neck. He shaves 2 inches down to the skin and leaves the rest almost full. Ive never seen any human being with a natural cut like that. I actually think this was the worst haircut Ive gotten in 20 years; either it was intentional or he simply is untrained.
This place has been my go to for 2 years but will not be going to QB again. My most recent haircut was terrible. I had an older gentleman and he did not do anything I asked for, saying it looked better his way. One of the worst haircuts I’ve ever had and couldn’t believe he just dismissed everything I asked for. When he was done, I was honestly shocked because my haircut did not look finished. And he took twice as long as any other barber I’ve had. When I asked him if he could fix the sides, once again he said that it wouldn’t look good if he did that. I don’t like making a scene so I just accepted it and fixed it myself.
I have to say I am quite unhappy about the cut. I showed the stylist the picture and ask her if she could do it before she cut. I feel like she thinks I have too much requests.it turns out the haircut is not even close to the picture. She insisted it was like the picture and said she could cut my hair even shorter, but of course I will not let her touch my hair again!
I can say they literally have respect what they are doing!
Great haircut, relaxing experience
Great haircut!
Best haircut I had so far. Very friendly and attentive stylist. The cuts were very precise and clean. I went back to work with no itch whatsoever, they clean up very well. Tipped in cash and will come back!
Just finished a haircut with Sue. Probably the best cut I’ve ever received. She was exceedingly meticulous and clearly cared about the finest details. Extremely impressed with this place and the caliber of the cutters. Brand new, spotlessly clean. Perfect. Thank you!
Excellent service, very attentive when listening to request and continuously checked to make sure all was okay. Incredibly clean place and very impressive set up. Reasonably priced at $20, in comparison to other barbers in New York. Will definitely return
Excellent service. They listen and are very patient and careful. Constantly checking to see if you are good with the length and cut. I will be returning again. One thing - you are not able to request a particular person they work FIFO to keep things efficient. Good addition to neighborhood.
Love this place! A quick (express) haircut between meetings. Walk-in, put your name on the list, wait for available stylist and cut. Quick, stylish and simple. $20.
Impressed with this place. High cleanliness standards and excellent attention to detail by the lady who cut my hair. The vacuum brushing at the end gets you fresh and ready for any occasion. If I lived in NYC this would be my go-to place for hair cuts.
Quick and courteous service, I went during lunch hour on a weekday, no queue, no wait, be seated in and started right away. I wanted a quick trim on the spilt ends and shorten of my bangs. Come out a happy customer.
They close at 6 pm on Sunday. I came at 5:30 pm. As a result, the woman on duty was not happy to give me a haircut. Management should talk with her. I have been there three times before.Currently, I do not recommend this company or vacation. The work ethic has unfortunately diminished.
Japanese level of attention, cleanliness, and precision.I couldnt have asked for more for its price.Great spot and incredible cut by Ryu (Hairdresser).Theyve got me as a loyal client.
Extremely professional, detailed but fast, better results than most far more expensive salons I’ve been to in the city! Fantastix!
After spending a lot of time and money at my usual salon I wasnt satisfied with the length of the cut. I felt it should have been an inch shorter. A week later I was debating spending more money to have it fixed. I happened to walk by OB House on John St and decided $20 was as very far price to have the extra length taken off. My stylist was very good and gave me exactly what I asked for. The salon was clean and I was out of there in 15 minutes.
Surprisingly decent haircuts for $20. Japanese precision. Used to get much more expensive haircuts and like these better. The only negative is the inconsistent wait time... Sometimes you can waltz right in, other times its a bit of a longer wait (though Ive never experienced more than 20ish mins)
The guy that cut my hair was really nice. A lot of people complimented on my hair.
Perfect. Fast, friendly, and the barber looks exactly the same as Ryo Kase!
Very quick no frills and inexpensive for the area. Will go back
Great place to get a quality cut. Just have to wait for it since its a first come first serve basis.
Nice efficient service when you need a quick no fuss haircut :-)
This is the best place to go to get a haircut if you want something quick, affordable, and dont have to deal with talking to the hair stylist. $20 for a 10-minute cut, walk-ins only
Very good haircuts. Very clean and professional staff and process. Even have little vacuum for hair bits so you are ready to go out afterwards.
Really nice staff. Great service. Note that only take tip in cash.
Friendly and speedy service, a very good haircut, and all at a competitive price
Quick service. On average 15 min wait
We came here by accident bc the barber we were going to was closed for maintenance. It worked out because this was the best haircut my son has gotten in a long time. There was only one guy here cutting hair, I didnt get his name, so we will just name him Edward Scissorhands. I saw him transform the hair of a 20 something year old and then again a 10 year old, so I thought if anyone could fix my buttons hair, it would be this man, and he did.My sons hair was in bad shape...because of me. A brief backstory is I decided to watch a YouTube video on how to cut your childs hair, and cut his hair myself, which was a big fail, so the next day we were walking to the barber shop.I showed Edward Scissorhands at least 15 pictures I had saved of how we wanted his hair to be, and he nodded and smiled, without being annoyed by the mom who should know by now that this boys hair will grow back in 4-6 weeks...He asked if I wanted him to use the clippers at all, to which I replied, no, just scissors, and he happily obliged. In less than 15 minutes, his hair was magically transformed, and looked fantastic. It was better than the 15 celebrity and model photos I showed him.The salon is kept super clean, tools are sterilized. Cuts are $20 + tip. No wash or shampoo. Its just an amazing dry cut. A hot blow dryer or slapping towel isnt used to get the hair off, but instead a professional light vacuum-like tool that my son loved got most of the hair off. I didnt notice any products being put in his hair and I liked that bc I knew tomorrow, when he wakes up, his cut is still going to look perfect.I need to find out Edward Scissorhands real name, because whenever we are in NYC, we will be going back to him.
Very good listening to exactly what I wanted
Quick, cheap, and great service!
Courteous, quick, and fairly priced!
Great value!!
Great place for a quick haircut
Good haircut 👍
