He checked in with me throughout the cut because I told them I had a less than great experience with a stylist recently who cut my bob too short. Really kind person with good customer service. I was super happy with the cut and will definitely be back. Also, the shop just has an overall welcoming and positive vibe! I recommend!!!

Kendra cut my hair this past week, and this is literally the best haircut I have ever received.I am trans so finding a salon or barber shop to cut my hair short is incredibly difficult. For the last 4 years I have been doing it at home, too afraid of the dreaded layered bob or pixie cut. I decided to check out Hairrari and I am overjoyed at the result. The staff were amazingly kind and great to talk to after a year of quarantine. The shop is small and clean, so it was nice and cozy. The shop music was great. Kendra continuously checked in with me to ask what direction I wanted to take the hair cut, and even gave me a shape up.I even bought some of their styling wax, and while it cost more than the store bought stuff, it will last me years, and is the perfect quality.For the first time ever Im excited for my hair to grow out so I can get it cut again.10/10 worth EVERY penny.

Out of the dozens of haircuts Ive had at the East Village location, there was only one time I was less than satisfied (probably due to a miscommunication on my part). I saw Dustin for color in the East Village location, and I cannot rave enough. The Hairrari space very clean and safe -- with a super welcoming (and cute!) receptionist taking your temperature before entering, and everyone in the store wearing masks the entire process. Though I did not personally get a cut in this visit, I was impressed by how seamlessly the barbers handled helping their customers leave on their mask while trimming around the ears. The staff was friendly and easy to talk to.Dustin did an amazing job talking with me about my hair history, finding out exactly my desired color and educating me on the proper upkeep after my lightening. I really appreciated how quick and efficient he was: in the past when I had my hair bleached, the colorist was not nearly as quick, and I feel that artificially drove up the price. I felt the Hairrari price was reasonable and incredibly worth it. Dustin was so sweet, fast and delivered a beautiful color with exactly the tones I wanted. I will definitely be back!!

I had a bad haircut experience about 4 years ago and have been very nervous about having someone I dont know touch my hair. I did some research and Hairrari seemed like a great fit. I made a last minute appointment for a same day cut with Chloe and I cannot tell you how happy I am. Chloe is new to Hairrari but its apparent that she has been cutting hair for a long time. She was so friendly and kind, and took the time to go through the references I brought to get a clear idea of what I was looking for. Throughout the haircut she described what she was doing, made sure I was comfortable, and gave me styling tips. Chloe is now my go-to stylist and I feel so lucky to have found her!

In the middle of my work day an important meeting was sprung upon me. I needed a haircut desperately. I came upon Hairrari on a quick google search and decided to give them a call. I was greeted professionally and warm. I was given an appointment for the same day. I came in and was greeted with the same professionalism and warmth. Covid measures are taken seriously through out the salon. Dylan cut my hair, he was thorough, listen to my needs and was able to deliver what I needed and wanted. My hair looked great and I felt great about myself. The price for the service is fair and competitive to other places in the area. I came in very nervous after a year and a half of buzzing my hair at home, and I clearly made Dylan nervous too. I also received two really important phone calls while I was supposed to be in the chair and kept interrupting him, I was definitely not a great client. Dylan was very patient and kind, but didnt lie or cover the fact that I wasnt treating him properly, which I appreciate. He offered to reschedule, but I dont get a lot of chances to get out by myself. On top of all that, I freaking love the cut he did on me, it was really subtle and its washed out great. Great experience.

I have been here many times over the years, but due to the pandemic, it has been over a year since my last visit. I booked with Ellie for the first time to get rid of a mohawk. She did an excellent job and was very communicative about how she was going to go about it. She took into consideration what I wanted and styled my hair with a product I will probably buy in the future. I walked out of the shop feeling great! I will definitely be back. I want to leave a review for Jordy, who is a new colorist at Hairrari in East Village. My hair was a mess from pandemic box dye and a washed out dye job. Jordy saw through all this and did miracles with my hair. A couple of days before she contacted me to hear about what I was looking for, leaving several messages until she reached me. Jordy did a shadow root in a beautiful plum color and were able to bleach my hair and dye it into a bright red. Strangely enough my hair does not feel damaged after. It is easily the best dye job I ever had. I then got a haircut by Maggie, who was equally great. We had a discussion about masculine and feminine haircuts, and how hairstylists are taught binary thinking throughout their training. Maggie was able to inject enough masculine cutting techniques into my hair for me to feel comfortable, which almost never happens. The whole hair salon has a great atmosphere, and customers younger and older were treated equal and left happy. Thank you for your professionalism and showing how the work is done.

I had my haircut by Maggie last weekend and I still can’t believe how great it looks. I tried cutting my own hair at home to avoid crowded places and it turned out terribly. Maggie did an outstanding job with everything: fixing my failed experiment, cutting my hair short, blending everything in, just an overall great experience. Looking for a place to get your haircut when youre a curly haired trans-woman isnt impossible but it does feel overwhelming. I promised Id get myself my first big-girl haircut- almost a year ago. My super supportive partner (yes, Im bragging) was kind enough to ask around and we received a recommendation for Hairrari. My stylist Ellie made the experience wonderful. It was super easy to communicate with her. We took a few minutes to really express intention and direction before getting started and she understood exactly what I was looking for. I have a SUPER sensitive scalp and Ellie could tell without a single question made sure to be extra gentle. I felt seen, heard, and understood and most importantly I am REALLY happy with my cut. Going to a barber is beyond the haircut itself, it is also the experience during and after the cut. The experience at Hairarri is THE best experience NYC has to offer. Being someone who deals with anxiousness when getting a haircut, my stylist Devon made me comfortable the entire time. They frequently asked how I was feeling while also making me feel excited about how the cut was turning out. Devon was also very intricate with detail, making sure everything was exact and for the first time ever my haircut came out exactly how the picture looked. If you are looking for an experience that will follow you long after the cut itself, I demand you come here. You will not get a better experience anywhere else and the staff is incredibly inclusive and sweet to everybody!

This place was amazing. I was here about 3 weeks ago wanting a hair makeover. The owner of the place was the one who cut my hair and she was absolutely amazing and professional. She was very friendly and we talked about everything under the sun. She did an amazing job with my hair and gave me an awesome haircut and also gave me recommendations for products to take home. I made an appointment with Nick at Hairrari Barber-East Village and had mission-- to chop off 12 inches of hair! The staff met me at the door and greeted me with smiles, face masks and a forehead thermometer. I really appreciate the precautions the shop took to maintain a safe indoor environment.Nick and I got to work fast, where the only time I took off my face mask was when he asked to see my full face to get a good idea of my ideal haircut. I absolutely appreciate a professional using his understanding of face shapes to pinpoint a hair style that would most flatter mine.Nick asked lots of questions about what I wanted, and I could tell that he was listening. The hair cut that we came up with was a first in execution for him, but he was extra careful with the scissors and took lots of dedicated direction from his boss. I wasnt ever nervous about the scissors snips, because the guy making them was intent on doing a good job.Nick was friendly and honest. He even asked if I preferred to be called Kim or Kimberly, which was nice to hear, since most people take it upon themselves to use the shortened version of my name. This further highlighted Nicks goal of creating a comfortable appointment for me and catering to my wants and needs.And my hair turned out great! I am so glad to have discovered Hairairi Barber- East Village. Its a small style shop thats big on friendly, helpful folks who make it their mission to make others look their greatest.

Dustin has been cutting and coloring my hair for almost 10 years now. Hes amazing at both, but especially color/bleach. Ive had it pretty much every color of the rainbow from neon pink to almost black and no matter what he takes the time to make sure the damage is minimal and that I always have soft shiny hair at the end of the day. In the last year Ive also developed a bit of an allergy to color, so he takes extra care to make sure to prevent any reaction.Hairrari as a salon is also really fun, all the staff there are friendly and its a welcoming space. Im also impressed by the covid safety precautions theyve taken and was definitely comfortable getting my color done there this month.

She is super patient, took her time, and asked a lot of styling questions so she can can get the cut exactly how you want it. I took my 12 yo daughter, V, to see Sarah this Saturday. V wanted to cut her long hair into a pixie cut. Sarah was amazing, she took the time to speak to me and V, analyze her hair, and we discussed what could and could not be done. V is so happy with her cut! Great, small two-room salon, with friendly staff and affordable prices. I’ve only seen Stevie and recommend her very, very highly. She’s got a vision for your head (so important), energy to burn, interesting convos, and loads of warmth. But it’s all about the cut and I’ve paid so much more for so much less at other places. This is my go-to now.

I received a haircut and shampoo from Daniel Braaten. The haircut, I must say, was exceptional and near perfect. Daniel and everyone at Hairrari are friendly and treat their customers very well. The setting itself was very nice, with all the necessary amenities (seating, reading material, candy, etc) provided for the customers looking to get a great and affordable (for the east village) haircut. After coming here, you will forward to getting another haircut at Hairrari.

Love this place, been here twice already and got the best haircuts Ive ever had. Its hard for me to gauge price bc Im so used to the cheaper cuts in Queens (which arent bad) but I love going here and knowing Im going to leave liking what I have. I used to go to Dramatics, but I was constantly irked by the way hair stylists like to manipulate you into liking your haircut by saying how much they like it and you feel like you have to agree until you leave and realize youre not that into it.The hair stylists at Hairrari know what theyre doing and make sure youre happy with your cut, and that youre comfortable and completely satisfied.

Been going to Maria at the Bushwick location for about 8 months. It’s always a great time. Always a great cut. Always a great conversation. Everyone at the shop as been incredibly personable and professional. Not one critique or negative comment from this guy. They do some really unique cuts as well as traditional. I had my hair cut here a month ago and all I can say is I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place! Magda is so fantastic. I showed her a couple of hair photos that I liked and she then took her time to look at my face shape and the way my hair fell naturally and came up with a great cut that was like the photos, but made for my face. That is what a true professional should do. The NYC shop is cozy and the other stylists were so friendly. I would highly recommend any man or woman to come here - you will not regret the attention to detail and the price is perfect.

Never had a chance to enjoy the experience. I called because I was running late and was told that after 10 minutes past the appointment that they wouldnt be able to see me. Got there at 15 past and they wouldnt see me, said that everyone was busy but when I checked online on their website there was a 6pm slot open which I asked to be slipped into but they said it was booked. Tried to offer a time for the next day but I was so put off by their customer service that I have no interest in giving them my money.I will be the first to admit I was late but as a new customer, it would have been nice to show more hospitality. Theyre certainly not starved for business so it wont be any hair off their heads but I wont reccomend them to anyone anytime soon.

Worth booking online with her directly even if you have to wait a few weeks for an appointment. Also Morgan is great. Such a pleasant group, fun music, free drinks, and most importantly great haircuts.

I went here and left slightly disappointed. The staff was nice and attentive and the woman that cut my hair seemed skilled, but she didn’t have a round brush, which meant she couldn’t give me the cut I needed. As a guy that likes to style my hair with a blow dryer, I was a bit frustrated because we weren’t able to blow out my hair the way I like it in order to check that the cut worked for my style. This all because none of the stylists had a round brush. When I styled my hair once I got home, the volume distribution was a bit off and it didn’t look too great. My advice: don’t come here if you have a slightly more complicated men’s cut.
