I’ve been getting haircuts exclusively here since 2014. In these last 7 years I went to a different barber once for my second haircut after pandemic re-opening, and will never make that mistake again. This is the absolute best barber for men in NYC.

Fantastic place this one!!If youre a guy looking to get a cheap and quick hair-cut at any point of the day for less than 25$, this is the place. Its highly economical without compromising on quality. Ive come here for a hair cut and Ive also come here for a beard trim and havent been disappointed on either occasions.As indicated on their website you can get a beard-trim done for as low as 10$ which is a steal. There are usually 4-5 barbers available at any point of time so wait-time is pretty low. Note that this place doesnt take reservations.Great customer experience while keeping it simple. Brilliant !!

Only $25 for a really superb haircut.  Surely this is one of those hidden bargains of New York City.  Your $25 buys you an enormous amount of attention: There is definitely a focus on those little details that make the difference.  The whole team is young, focused, proud of what they do, superbly trained, totally professional. Great with kids, too.

I went in for a beard trim and razor clean up, and left with my neck all cut up and bad razor burn.

I’ve tried getting my hair cut at a lot of places around the city, and this is by far the best place I’ve gone to. All the barbers are exceptional and there is rarely a wait time. For just a regular cut it’s $25, which is such a great deal!

Ive been going to this place for about a year now, started going on my lunch break. I have a slightly different haircut than most of the men that walk through their door (essentially a mohawk although I never style it that way) and theyre always very receptive as to the cut Id like on that given day. Ive been rotating between 3 barbers and have been satisfied with all three. Good price, location, and friendly staff, and gets the job done in a timely matter.

My boyfriend was looking for a new place to get a hair cut and a friend of ours recommended Fifth ave Barber shop. The prices are very fair and the barber is very nice. It was not a long wait and he really took into account all the wishes my boyfriend made what he wants for the haircut to look like. He came out very happy and was very impressed.

This is the spot only because of my barber Mark. He hooks me up every time I go there. He takes his time and makes good recommendation if youre not quite sure what kind of cut you looking for. Ive been going to Fifth Ave Barber Shop for over 4 years and strongly recommend them. I had gone to the same barber my entire life, but when I moved to NYC, I was apprehensive about finding someone new. Solid haircuts at a reasonable price, at least for Manhattan. I am not a fan of the assembly line system and have never gotten the same guy to cut my hair twice, but Im sure you can ask to wait for someone if you realpy want to. They are quick, like in and out in 10-15 minutes, max, on even a busy day.

This barbershop is definitely the best Ive been to due to its consistently. I come in once a month and their haircuts are always spot on. Steve usually cuts my hairs and he already knows what I usually get as soon as I walk in. The wait time is also usually minimal, if there is any wait time. Everything is swift and on point. The price is also fair (if not cheap) for the quality of the work. Overall, I would definitely recommend this barbershop.

Ive been coming to this place for a haircut for several years. Since I work in the neighborhood, I had a chance to try multiple places, but finally decided to stick to this place. The staff is friendly and very efficient. The atmosphere is great and relaxing. Great place to get a good haircut under 20 bucks. For me its usually not very easy to describe what haircut I want exactly. Nevertheless they always get it right. And, if you need an advice, they would suggest you a haircut.

Just moved up to the city in August... & was making the trip back down to DE monthly to get a haircut because I love my barber back home. One day, before heading out of town on a flight in the evening, I had to get a haircut. My only opportunity was to sneak out at lunch. This place happened to be conveniently close and gave it a shot. Ended up getting a great haircut, similar, if not better, to the one I get at home. I will be going back here next month. I found my new barber in the city. Give it a shot you wont be disappointed. I went to the chair furthest to the left. He was Greek.

Ive been going to 5th Ave Barber Shop for the better part of 4 years now and have never had a bad experience. The owner Steve is an extremely nice guy and always goes out of his way to greet you as you walk in. You wont find a better haircut for under $20 in NYC. I typically walk in and wait but you can also make an appointment or call ahead to see how busy they are. A++

Incredible barber shop. Had Edward scissor hands mess up my cut back home in NC so once I landed in NYC for a bachelor party a buddy and myself went here and the guy saved me. I went there because i read the comments but honestly I dont think I would ever go there again. The guy who cut my hair was probably a really nice guy but he couldnt understand English and his hands were shaking during the cut. I tried to ask him how he is doing and tried to start a conversation to calm him down but it only made it worse. Again the guy seems to be really nice but not a great hair cut skills. If you guys still wanna go there make sure you have the right person to cut your hair. Try to have a conversation before you sit on that chair.

Ive been coming here for years and never had a problem. The guys are friendly and accept everyone. Prices are reasonable compared to other places. If you dont know what haircut you want, then go there with an open mind and theyll suggest something for you. Become a regular and theyll treat you like V.I.P., at least thats how they make me feel. If youre not sociable, then come in and relax while you get a cut, if you like to converse theyre that friendly to hold a convo with you. Theyre educated barbers with skills from scissors to buzzers, even hair washing if you wanted. NYC dont take it from me, try it for yourself and see, Fifth Avenue Barbers is the place to be!

Not what I expected. Barber worked way too quickly without much care, using only the electric shaver. Made a mistake that was only pointed out by his colleague after I had left the chair so he made me sit back down, sending off his next customer who had already been seated. Didn’t deserve the $4 tip I gave him. I won’t be back.

It is the worst experience I had. I cut my hair and bear in a lots of countries but this one is the worst: I went for a hair and bear cut. The hair cut is not precise and look messy. The bear was not adequatly cut and shaved I had to go home and finish the job. I am not coming back again. Some advice: increase the luminosity and listen to the Customer. What he wants is the best.

Went in with a pic to make the cut easier, told the barber what I wanted. He did the bare minimum (one side was longer then the other), didnt touch the top then was irritated that I reminded him that I still wanted the top trimmed and thinned out. Essentially he cut sections off with no texturing on the top ( essentially cut sections with no detailing). Good for short back and sides but dont expect much else. Churn and burn kinda place.

TL;DR Try a haircut (seemed ok from what I saw of others) but pass on the shave unless you like your face getting cut a bunch.I want to preface that I came in here for a shave, so take what I say with a grain of salt as I imagine that they are better at cutting hair.Initially I felt the shave was going well and that I was basically being treated to a luxury I normally wouldnt indulge in; honestly the price was a tad high but I didnt care as I just wanted to treat myself. Immediately after I stepped outside I felt the cold wind rip at the innumerable cuts that were left on my face from the shave.I know every now and then I might cut myself shaving but Ive never cut myself that many times (over a dozen distinct cuts). Im probably not going to return here, mainly because Im not from the area, but also from this experience.
