The venue is absolutely beautiful, but disappointed would be an understatement when it came to the food. I am giving one start for the beautiful setup of the venue and one for the lovely waitress that was attentive to my table as well as the lovely lady by cheese and meats table during cocktail hour. Now for the food. There were some things that were enjoyable, namely the sliders being served during the cocktail hour, the pasta during cocktail hour, and the individual chocolate cake type dessert at the end. Other than those things, as much as I tried to be optimistic, I was disappointed beyond belief, especially for this establishment. The meat served during cocktail hour was not well seasoned, and what really disappointed most was the steak. I was first suspicious when they didnt ask how I like my steak cooked. Then, unlike at any other wedding venue Ive been to, they served the main course by setting out empty plates and having wait staff come around with trays of the steak serving the pre sliced rounds from person to person. Not only was my table left after it seemed like everyone else received their food, but I watched as each person revived whatever level of cooked steak was given to them like being given out slices of bread begin a loaf. As the second to last person to be served I received a well cooked end piece that was dry and somewhat tough. There was no fat in this steak making the end pieces even dryer and Little seasoning it seemed as well. I dont think the steak had any sort of sear on the outside. I did not want to even eat the 2 pieces I received at that point. To top it off, the roasted fingerling potatoes where dried out as well. I held out my hopes for the cake only to find my hopes dashed by the straight sugar icing between the cake layers that was the kind of sweet only reserved for decorating the outside of the cake.I am still shocked by the lack of quality for the food at this venue and would not recommend it to others.
Unique atmosphere, feel like you live in a historic moment.
I had the rack of lamb with roasted potatoes. Both were delicious with the potatoes being absolutely perfect. I also loved that it was relocated to Grand Central station becausr I love people watching. Would definitely go there again.
Its a very nice place to have an event. Its a beautiful banquet hall.
Cipriani 42nd street is a stunning and elegant event venue! This used to be an old bank, but fortunately it was repurposed so everyone can still enjoy the grand architecture. There is a room for cocktails without disrupting the seated dinner area and a decent sized dance floor. I highly recommend Cipriani for your next corporate, charitable or personal event.
Fantastic restaurant in historic location of Grand Central Terminal. Anything you order here is delicious, fresh mozzarella, homemade fresh pasta and heavenly desserts. The 3 course special is your best deal. A must dine for sure when in the city.
Very good activity center and beautiful place, I like its architectural design
I had a very delicious Pasta here - highly recommended. Unfortunately, I had to wait about 15 Min until the staff realized, they had forgotten my order. Therefore only 4 Stars.
This venue is truly amazing! Good bar options and solid catering. Highly recommend for mid-size corporate events
Great space (the old Bowery Savings Bank) for a large event. I was there for a wine industry event. The space and staff were awesome.
Attended the NAACP Legal Defense Fund Annual Award dinner. Amazing night. The location was set- up beautifully.
Preface: I work here occasionally. Its a beautifully designed structure. A grand hall to hold events and weddings, lit to perfection. The service is quick and precise.
Such a staple. Not only a wonderful meal but great staff in an incredible location at Grand Central terminal. To be able to enjoy lunch and look at the beautiful ceiling and feel the energy of New York is a special occasion. Highly recommended for anyone considering lunch in midtown
This is Trumps Place...
Went with a small group (around 6 people) on a Sunday evening and had a fantastic time and enjoyed the classy & vintage vibe. Food was very good and service was fast. I was very impressed with the asparagus appetizer and the waiter completely upsold us to try the world class ice cream. Somehow he was right. I also got the filet for entree. It was a very nice cut and cooked as requested, however Im slightly disappointed in the flavoring. It was a bit underwhelming given the high price point. Nonetheless, deserves 4.5 stars and would recommend.
Stunning events venue. Very close to Grand Central. Great location, very high-class feel. Beautiful old architecture. Table settings were lovely. The servers were definitely experienced, so everything runs smoothly. I attended an event here as a guest so I cannot comment on price but it was a wonderful experience.
The old Bowery Savings Bank. It has been transformed into an OUTSTANDING event venue. Great access to all transportation at Grand Central and the Grand Hyatt is across the street. The heart of East Midtown. Blocks away from the UN. What more could you ask for.
As an attendee, this is one of my favorite venues for galas - they always have a great service as well as drink and dessert selection and are amazing about allergies in comparison to a lot of other places in NYC. Their food is also good, especially for a place that houses hundreds of people.
Great catering hall located in the heart of midtown NYC. Its located in a former historic Bank Building.
Amazing venue for a recent business event. Food was excellent, music was great and the setting was breathtaking! Highly recommended for any event in the city...
Was just here for a charity event and it was very well done. The staff are very well versed in the food that theyre serving. The interior of the space is gorgeous. The food is great quality and really tasty. And the bartenders serve great drinks. Ill definitely jump at a chance to attend another event here.
A beautiful venue for a wedding. The service staff was excellent and the food was the best Ive had at a wedding. I am very impressed with Ciprianis!
Went to a fund raiser event here, and I believe it to be my first time in this venue. Previously went to events at the restaurant having the same name. If I had the funds I would host an event here without hesitation. Not for those on a budget like me. Without a doubt I had a great time and the staff were courteous and helpful when needed.
Always an awesome experience. Staff and events are always topnotch
It was a beautiful vintage place. Beautiful marble floors and cathedral like ceilings. This place can hold a huge amount of guest. The staff was truly devine and the food was delicious. I felt welcomed.
What a place. We came for a University of Pennsylvania function. From the moment we walked in we were asked by one of a long line of people to take our coats. Then we took advantage of the range of food options they offered. The setting is historic and the service really fantastic.
Fantastic space for a large event!Old school bank location converted into a restaurant.
I was here for a fashion week event. Great venue near Grand Central Station! Read the signs for parking carefully especially if you are driving you may find parking (free depending on the time of day) right in front of the building ;)
Premier NYC corporate & private event venue. Top-notch in-house production company (Star Group Productions), excellent cuisine options, & stellar support & waitstaff.Highly recommended for your next non-profit gala, corporate event, or high-end celebration of a lifetime milestone (Bat & Bar Mitzvahs, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, retirement parties, & lifetime tributes).Although, be forewarned, the level of excellence that is displayed is commensurate with the price-tag.
Seem to always be back from morning till afternoon. What i love to go in here for is the lemon meringue mini pies, they are to die for. super delicious. Employees are friendly. They should hire more Spanish people, just something i like to notice in companies. Busy but awesome environment. Clean place
Cipriani is an amazing New York landmark representing everything upscale with every detail of your dinning experience maticulously taken care of from the finest wines to the best aged steaks. Cipriani is 5 star all the way.
Gorgeous classic space in a concerted bank for massive corporate events and galas. It just feels like New York.
I got a cup of tea and and dessert they were very delicious. Good hospitality and friendly staff. I like the environment too
This venue does not live up to its downtown counterpart. While the building is very beautiful, the food leaves much to be desired. The pasta sauces left much to be desired, the steak was dry and poorly seasoned, and the desserts were subpar at best. I truly expected more of this establishment.
Ive worked here several times setting up events and, this was always my favorite venue out of so many. Its so beautiful. Stunning to say the least!
Never came for dinner but nearby my office so ordered a few times for lunch. Really good.
The pay obviously is great but if you need a consistent job that gives you a weekly schedule then this is not the job for you. The reason for this is because it is an on-call job--they only email you gigs when they need you. It is strange too because some employees get more gigs than others; sadly, I was the unlucky one. In addition, the captains are terribly rude, nasty, and disgusting in how they treat the servers. One time they sent so many people home for being one minute late without giving us any prior knowledge of this through email from the office. The lack of communication was so tremendous it was just utterly unprofessional and disrespectful of the employees lifestyle and time outside of work. One time I got written up and a few other women for staying in the bathroom for too long and talking when I explained to the female captain that we were waiting for the other girls to get out. She did not care and reported me specifically to the manager just because of the fact that I respectfully went up to her to discuss that she is abusing her power and to put her in her place. I have a right to speak my mind, but in Ciprianis, they dont care. Because of this I received a red flag and did not receive any shifts until I made the time to meet with the manager to take it off. They did this without even knowing the truth of the story. This was the last straw and made me quit. I felt like they treated me so low down and dirty like my opinion and say in the story was worthless. Even the cook is very mean. One time he overheard someone say that the food was nasty so he told the captains to not give all of the employees the leftovers like a really big baby. The ONLY people that were nice were the servers. Goodbye Cipriani!!!.
The food was great and the service was top notch! The young man that seated me tonight (around 6pm) was so friendly. I dined solo but never felt alone. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
Gorgeous building with a lot of history. Great place for a wedding or other venue . Of which I have had the pleasure of attending several. The food is excellent. But the wait staff is very Rude and pushy. If your not paying attention they will knock you over attending to there duties.
Great place to sit down and read or catch up on some work. Excellent food. Great coffee. Excellent customer service. Great location.
Their halloween festival is soo amazing.
Glad they did not demolish this venue. Had a great time at the MAD Ball, wonderful people and the art work was amazing as were the artist.
Fantastic place to hold a big event - great atmosphere
Amazing place to celebrate your especial day. Very elegant and classy. Stunning!!
If youre in Manhattan you have to go there I highly recommend it had a great time
It is so beautiful. The architecture is breathtaking.
Beautiful place. Went for a charity event and everything they had was top notch. Amazing interior and wide open.
The building is beautiful! Its an excellent event space and convenient location. The food is quite good and the staff are very professional.
Beautiful venue for high-end events. Technical staff is pretty solid, though you have to follow-up and double check on requests. Because it used to be an old bank, some of the architectural details need creative workarounds (such as for staging, floorplan layout, etc.). Id use this venue gain in the future.
Very nice ambience, excellent food. I used to eat here weekly when I lived in Manhattan and when I recently returned, was happy to see it still as charming as ever.
Wow! Amazingly beautiful! We went to the Cipriani for a gala and we’re blown away with how beautiful the space was!
Enyoi place recommended for big events for big factorys you can check web or call
Was attending my daughters graduation ceremony the food was epicurean delight and the staff was very polite
I attended this venue in April 2018 as part of a conference function. The staff were awesome, the food was great and the venue was just sublime. Totally recommend.
This was an incredible facility! Beautiful and thoughtfully laid out.
Absolutely the most beautiful venue possibly I. All of NYC. The food is excellent. The ballroom is grand, and I mean super grand.
I love the fact that they have a Halloween Event. Not a lot of restaurants do that. Dont miss the one coming up.
Huge event space. Right near Grand Central. Easy to get to. A wonderful place to hold an event.
Thought this can be a great little coffee place in that area. It was fine but nothing special. Didnt try the croissants which I should have now that I read the other reviews.
The hostess was really rude but the waiters were really pleasant. We sat on the balcony. My mum had the daily suggestion which wasnt so good, endives and avocado salad; linguine al pesto, but the desserts were awesome!
My wife swears the fuket mignon, served at a massive event there, is the best she has had in NYC in he 40 years here.
They throw the best Galas
The quality of food in Cipriani is exquisite. Down to the oatmeal I purchase in the morning for breakfast. I do have a complaint as far as the service though. The service for take out is horrible. I stand and wait for long periods of time, for the staff to take my order. This has happened on numerous occasions. And I just had it this last time. As they see the line grow, the manager comes to assist but skips over me on the line. A gentleman walks in and stands by the register and again is serviced before me. I then speak up about my order. I am disgusted with the reputation and stature of such a place to have such terrible service!! I have coworkers that agree the service is slow.42nd Street Grand Central Location for take out.
Architectually, its a beautiful venue. Marble, columns, and high windows everwhere. It was formerly a bank, and the old teller stations still stand. It has a very elegant, vintage feel. The decor and layout is well done, and the food is absolutely delicious. Everything we tried we liked.
Had a boys Scouts event here, wonderful time...
Everything was great. The food was delicious, the service was fast and courteous.
