Jerome the head guy at ludlow is one of the best machnics I ever met he took good care of my car after I had a bad experience at n.y 1 transmission repair in the bronx (worst place EVER STAY AWAY FROM THEM THEY LEFT MY CAR ON THE STREET AND LET SOMEONE BRAKE INTO MY CAR THEY STOLE EVERYTHING DOWN TO THE AIR FRESHENER)BUT YA LUDLOW IS THE BEST MACHNICS IN MANHATTAN!!!HANDS DOWN!!!!some may say that they are expensive but honestly u get what u pay for !!!

I went in for spark plugs and a coolant flush had no problem they even used my coolant oil and kept the rest 1st mistake. 2nd mistake. They use other peoples parts and just charge labor to install them today I called and they said they don’t use personal parts they want me to buy there’s it’s a rip off- 3rd mistake. They’ll hold your car an extra hour after the labor is done so they can charge extra. I will go to my brothers trusted Mechanic in the Bronx at least they don’t charge an arm and a leg and use your own personal parts. Go here at your own risk!!

These guys did the job in a timely manner and didnt overcharge me anything. They even apologized that they had to go over the estimated time by one hour. What more could you ask for in a mechanic? Honest, fast, forthcoming. These guys are my new mechanics. They did an awesome job and when a switch was accidentally installed upside down they fixed it for me on the spot. Friendly, good communication, excellent service from the top down. Toyota of Manhattan wanted $1750 +tax for a job they only charged me $270 for! Wow. F**k Toyota of Manhattan. The only thing is the entry to the garage is on a small street and theyre very jammed up in the mornings. You may have to wait a few minutes to get your vehicle in. But its absolutely worth it. I recommend these guys, highly. Very happy with both the great job and the friendly forthcoming Jerome, Jeremy, Winston and the other friendly mechanics I met as well. Awesome

One of the few places in Manhattan that still does the NYS inspection. Call ahead to get an appointment and they can get you back on the road quickly. They are pretty good with regular maintenance too. I got new front axles and they are fine.

Ludlow Garage is one of the best in NYC. They run inspections quickly and efficiently. They fix or repair your car the same way. You will get great service here. The staff are all smart and nice. Used them for (3) Years. Fine place to take your automobile.

One of the few garages that are located in Manhattan that does top notch work on any car. Located on Ludlow Street in the Lower East Side (south of Houston) I dare you to find another mechanic shop nearby that has half the quality.Anything from simply filling up your tire to coming to your apartment to check out your car or towing you to their place they will fit you in no matter what type of customer volume they have and they will get the job done.Not only a garage they have an auto body shop across the street so they control the painting and body work as well.And believe it or not for all of that work they do they charge very reasonable prices.If you are a gearhead and prefer to buy your own parts and then just have them installed--they will do that for you too.NOTE- when you need work done that day you got to drop your car off at least between 6:30 and 7 a.m. (assuming it can be done)

Brought my Subie in for an expired inspection during the pandemic and was relieved to find kind staff, efficiency and proper precautions around Covid.. The mechanic explained he wasnt going to touch anything in the car, explained what he needed to do and was just generally on top of being covid cautious and communicative. I felt super comfortable and appreciative. Now I have to go pay my parking ticket :)

Fantastic! I called ahead to make sure they were doing inspections, I was told yes and to head on over. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, professional and efficient. In and out in under 30 minutes, and due to an old windshield replacement my registration sticker and old inspection sticker were peely and falling off a bit. When they stuck on my new inspection sticker, they also fixed my registration sticker! A small but much appreciated gesture. Will 100% be back next year for inspection, and in between if any issues come up with my car, these guys rock!

Usually when i go to a mechanic shop they men are not so nice or they try to overcharge me. The service i received fromthe first five mins. Made me feel quite welcomed and in theright hands.. The office atmosphere was so pleasant the bathroom was a charm. Great and fast service...

Drove my car in to be repaired, for a noise it was making, they put an alternator, they changed all the motor mounts, damaged the key starter, and took a perfect good battery out and put another one with tie straps, after that my car was in and out of his shop around 5 or 6 times because it keep stalling. I never got none of the things he replaced back. WILL Not Recommend. My car is fine now, and in good working thanks to a honest and reliable person.

This is a rarity in New York: an honest and competent auto mechanic! They may not be the least expensive but they are good and reliable. Ive had used cars that Ive thought of buying checked out here, and over several years, an alternator replaced, a starter, front shocks, etc. All their work is high quality. Best to arrive early in the morning and call ahead. Parking is tight on this block. They are really good guys.

These guys are great!! My boss has been coming to them for 35 years and although she has not been in a while they recognize her and can name all the cars she has had.In particular, my boss deals with Jerome. He is kind, patient, and truly cares about the owners and their cars. The same can be said for the other employees I have met there.Took the car in to have a flat patched, the oil changed, and a new battery installed. Took about 2.5 hours and cost a little over $300.Prices are fair. They keep a clean waiting room and theres a deli around the corner if one needs a snack while waiting.Best car shop I have ever been to!

Ive known the owner for many years. He is a decent hardworking man. I know his son too. Unfortunately they insist on keeping that miserable, nasty, rude African American man with the full head of grey hair and beard (I dont know his name). I just dont understand why people who work in a service industry would be so rotten. Nevertheless, I stopped going to Ludlow because of him.

Just when you’ve lost faith in service after being gauged at Staten Island Toyota and being quoted another $3000 at Bay Ridge Toyota. The guys here checked my van and sent me home. They are nice, reliable, reasonable and honest. I will never bring my older vehicle anywhere else.

Ive been coming here for years, Jerome and his staff are awesome. I would highly recommend his shop to anyone. They are the meaning of true mechanics, they diagnose the problem and not just change part after part like most shops do.

This place is the best! You go in and it looks like most garages except that they actually serve you when you walk through the door instead of making you wait around like a second rate citizen. They are so honest and fair and really want to make you happy. There are not many garages left that have their customers backs like Ludlow does. Not only is their main guy Jerome great, each mechanic that I have interacted with is polite, respectful and takes the time to explain what is happening with your vehicle. If youre in Manhattan and need work done, there is no alternative.

I went to this shop about 3 months ago to have my brake pads replaced. They were very professional, fair, and found a bolt on my wheel that had been broken for a while and offered to fix it for a reasonable price since the had to work on that area anyway for the brake pads. No other mechanic had offered to fix that issue such as when rotating my tires because they said it would be costly labor even though the replacement bolt was not much.

I am from Canada and I broke down on FDR on my way home. This garage was the first I contacted and they helped me out with my odyssey. I am very pleased with their service and also the customer care was outstanding. Very rare to find an honest garage these days but I truly believe this is one of them. Incident 1) woman told me they never use customers own oils for oil change after i had just done so with the help of their own mechanics. Incident 2) they insisted on my next visit to their shop in 6 months, as if i didnt do that, my car would explode. Incident 3) one dude tried to charge me $400 just to have my rimlocks removed, meanwhile SeaBreeze in Brooklyn would do it for a $20 tip. I know it is capitalism, but damn they make some crook moves.

Not satisfied, very superficial job and high risk to get it done by substituting a piece of the car instead of trying to repair it (consequently paying unreasonable fees for elementary jobs): after changing the AC condenser, a new issue occurred; having it repaired too (the alternator belt was only missing...just needed to take a quick look instead of suggesting to change the whole piece) and done the annual inspection right after, another issue occurred and this caused the engine to brake and so the car which now has been dumped. They never checked the engine oil. Wont ever come back.

The best company I have ever been. They repair my car in one day without an appointment. because they know we had emergency and would like to help us. we get our car the next day with nice and clean. especially i really appreciate ryan and jerome! they are really nice!

I have never been very happy with the quality of the service I receive at Ludlow. The first time I went to get a timing belt and water pump replaced. The water pump they installed was a cheap after market model and a year later it failed almost cooking my motor. Then I had another repair done involving replacing a simple fan. They billed me for two hours labor to remove something that couldnt have taken more than 15 minutes to install (four bolts and a plug). Finally, I needed a repair of a sensor. Reading the codes and installing the new sensor cost me two hours of labor, I got my car back with a nasty dent, the sensor was not correctly installed (it was hanging over the exhaust manifold, and they left the old sensor sitting in my motor. Were they working in the dark? When you go to Ludlow Garage most of your labor charge involves someone moving your car around. The only reason Ive gone there was that I dont know any other mechanics in Manhattan but I wouldnt recommend taking a car there for anything more than an inspection.

I know the owner/head machanic for over 30 years and I put up with his lousy schedule but to let me take my car after 2 days without looking at it and tell me your keys are on the table it’s no lost to me. I’m just letting anybody who reads this know that they are all rude and swear at each other, some work environment, remember not to take your kids with you there. They are over priced even having a childhood friend working there (don’t worry he’s been there for just as long and he’s just like family to them and he can never do wrong and they will never fire him) but I never asked my friend nor J****e for any special treatments. The only reason I go there is that I live in the neighborhood and I thought they would change by now and for a waste of my time on my vacation I should have known better. Never again. Plenty of shops to try but stay away from this one or find out for yourself. I hope they see this post and know who wrote it and maybe change... or not. One customer might not even get noticed that is why I give it a 1 Star because No Star was not a option. By the way one of there machanics just shook his head and said this happens all the time.
