Very polite helpful service outstanding young team of stewardess who are up all the time during a 15 hours flightNot like US or french carrier where staff are older and less energetic. Air China treats all passengers like if you were a first class ticket holder.The staff was so dedicated and make the economy class service better than a US business class service.Thumbs up for Asia you know what hospitality is and this is the place to take vacation only China Japan 2 of Asian countries that I visited with my family I willGo back again and for sure no need to waste time in Paris that now is dangerous and no police protectionShanghai is the Paris of Asia amazing for shopping.
Terrible experience on the plane. The chinese coming to America; you would think they would be humble. Not on this flight. They dont even serve any type of alcohol or sell to have to deal with the classless passengers; they took turns changing their seats all through the flight home even when the seatbelts lights remained on; they played musical chair with their friends who was spread out. Even if that wasnt the worst the lady across from me gets her carry-on luggage and used that to hold her feet as she laid sleeping. I thought that was hazardous to keep a carry on luggage on the floor while plane in flight. I even have a picture of her laid out like her and her friends ds owned the plane. Terrible experience. I will never fly air china... the passengers are bunch of lunatics
Im just flying now from China to New York Business and they charge me $200 for a small box that I needed to have together when I never had this situation with any other airplane.And the cashier ladies dont even understand English so you cant communicate with themAnd I guess its not done 😂 the cashier forgot to give me the lounge card so they didnt want to let me in, glad I have the platinum amex card so they except this to let me in. But once I went in its a tiny place and all seats was in use so Ill need to find another place be for the next 2 hoursI dont think I will ever use them again.
Absolutely terrible... I will never fly with Air China again. I never tend to write bad reviews but this was literally one of the worst flights I have ever need on. Staff was unfriendly, food was cold, plane was dirty.. We boarded the plane and had to wait an hour and a half before even taking off. When asked why there was a delay no one answered.. then after taking a 13 hour plane ride, we finally land and then wait another hour and a half before they even let us off. I asked to use the restroom and the male flight attendant just yelled sit while making an X with his hands. Very rude... the plane has not been moving for over an hour, we were supposed to be off the plane an hour and a half ago.. so so terrible..
This is the absolute worst Air line experience I ever had. Will never fly with them again. Dont be fooled by their fares, its not worth the headache. They stranded me in Beijing China for 2 days and when I finally got to New York, they wouldnt call my other airline to inform them that I was late due to their negligence. Horrific customer service. Their manager refused to speak to me and their agent kept telling me Its not our problem All I was asking for was for them to call the other airline. Never again! Strongly advise against flying this air line
New York office was very helpful over the phone. They were able to secure an aisle seat for my JFK- Beijing- Hong Kong flight without issue as well as a meal request.
Air China has to be the worst airline I ever traveled. We booked tickets for Premium Economy seats. When the flights were scheduled they downgraded us to coach. The coach tickets were 1/2 the price of the premium tickets and we have still not seen any refund. To be fair to them on the first leg we were given business class but the other legs were coach.The biggest problem is there was no one to speak to and they all put you off to someone else . When we were in Beijing they said they could only send us a refund if we had a Chinese bank account.Up and about the fraud and bad service the seats were horrible, service was terrible and the worst flight experience ever .
I had to change a flight, the whole things was costly and stressful. They only have one office in LA, they do not pick up. Then they charge an HUGE amount of money to change a ticket. It was literally cheaper to go online an buy another ticket. I do not recommend flying with them. Search for alternate options even if you need to have a connecting flight.
So. My first experience with air China was in 2016. It was a good year to travel with them at the time. But my experience with them 2 days ago was horrible. On the 31 they did not let us know about a cancellation due to weather to jfk neither did they information Beijing airport if the situation until native people from Beijing complained about it an no one was there to explain anything. Thank God for the natives from Beijing that actually said something. Other wise we would not have a place to stay or a flight for the next day. The flight on my way from soul to Beijing was the wierdest. I was sat all the way in the very back and a waited for all the other passengers to leave the plane the one of the flight attendants put the foot on the back of my calf I turn around because I thought it was a bag but there was no bag and it was not a mistake if felt their foot push up against my leg and I turned around they thought I was going to say something and the staff all stared at me like what am I go do. Listen I know racists when I see them. The girls especially are very annoyed everytime they interact with me. I know not all Chinese people are racist against black people but that staff needs to learn how to deal with people from different backgrounds and stop assuming we dont know what racist attitudes look like. I was excited to fly air China because I had a great experience last time but I will avoid them this time around. If its cheaper that means you get cheap service too. I dont think air china deserves a good rating from me. If you asked me two years ago I would have said 4 stars. But this time not even one .

Flew with Air China between April 30th and May 10th. Their newest carryon and checking policies are ridiculous. Even though my bags were checked and bound for a connecting flight through Beijing, the authorities at Peking airport decided to recheck the bags again before their connecting flight (which is a 90 minute connection). Their newest policies do NOT allow any device with large battery sizes, including tablets and laptops on board or check in! On our way back from Japan through Beijing, the authorities rechecked our bags and took out two of the three batteries that power our Mavic Pro drone (the third one was still left in the same bag attached to the drone; if this was done for safety, why they didn’t take it out?). They also took out ALL power banks, including one that was within allowed limits; they only allow anything less than 1160mAh capacity batteries. Since a vast majority of smart phones and tablets have a capacity at least double that size, that would dictate in their full right to take anything away during a recheck and going through a security checkpoint and customs ONE MORE TIME during a CONNECTING flight. If you have any choices, refrain from using any Chinese domestic airlines that land in China. Use any other airline. Also, upon landing back in the US, it was observed that only US citizens had all their baggages rechecked by airport authorities in China since they had the white strings surrounding the bags, signifying a check. None of the non-US citizens had their baggage checked since none had the checked markers on them. This was also observed by other citizens that were recovering their baggage. Again, refrain from flying Air China unless you want all your electronics confiscated.
Please Stay Away. Its garbage airline, my son travelled to India and return trip was missed in Beijing. Then he was routed to EWR instead of JFK and will no reimburse the transfer cost. They only pay $50 per chinese policy. Flight cancelled due to snow (no ones fault) called to make alternative plans for same day flight somewhere else, wasnt interested in helping. Next available flight 6 days later (no help with extending accommodation) I was told to wait a few hours to one day for new tickets to be emailed, they never came. Called again, no record of the rescheduled tickets. I have been told to wait another 24 hours for confirmation. I dont trust them!
I took my brand new set of hard suitcases with TSA approved locks only to have them destroyed by the end of the trip. The flight had a transfer at Beijing and the luggage had not made the transfer. They told us that Air China would be shipping the luggage directly to our apartment on the following day around 6pm. Ended up having to stay up till 2am in the morning to receive them. When we did, both suitcases had their locks broken into and one of the zippers had been ripped off. Im guessing that whatever warehouse they keep the delayed luggage in didnt have TSA keys. Just looked up their policy for damaged suitcases and you have to bring it into the airport in order for them to check them out or send a letter (hah!) to the airport office for them to process.
Service and flight is good including Chinese food and beer. But no online check in available. They give you left over seats based on your turn. Missed my checked in luggage and reached to my place after I left from there. Changed few dollars in Beijing ( PEK ) airport currency conversion booth. Got less than half of the actual conversion rate. ( may be they have problems with dollars now a days- but its looting, frauds ) . Nothing works even you are connected with wifi in airports. If you ask some one for help No english is the only response you get. For cheap travel its good but dont expect any quality service as other providers !!!
Literally the worst customer service ever, so rude and they changed my flight times on 5 different occasions, leaving me with a 22 hour layover and offered nothing to even ease the long journey. Had to book a separate hotel, horrible meals on flight, terribly rude customer service. Do not recommend.

They seriously screwed up all of our travel. They had our flight out of Delhi leave two hours EARLY without notifying us. After 36 hours we finally made it to New York but are now stranded here trying to get home. I will NEVER fly with them again.

Air China is simply too garbage! The Super Economy Class will be changed to the ordinary economy class at will, and the guest will not be notified of the change! If you didnt call the baby cradle this morning, we didnt know about it! It is equivalent to spending an extra 2,000 dollars to set up a normal cabin. If you inform us early, we can still change it. There are still less than two weeks now. If you change it, we will add $3,000 to each of us! Why dont you go grab the money? Let us buy two super economy classes for $10,000? Can you buy first class? ! After making a phone call, this cant be solved. It cant be managed. What is the use of these service personnel? ! Is the states support really great? Listen to the internal staff said that this situation is unlucky treatment, I will haha, garbage airlines!
