I have done soundproofing work at the floor-ceiling interface in my apartment. The project was a challenging one because I live in an old building with essentially no soundproofing. I had consulted Mr Alan Fierstein and I had work done to his exact expert recommendations. He is using innovative methods that have been shown in studies to increase the efficacy of soundproofing. The result is simply marvelous, with more than 85% reduction in the footfall noise and 100% reduction in the airborne noise. I am absolutely thrilled, I have almost forgotten that I have upstairs neighbors. It used to be extremely disturbing, I could not sleep two floors below, I could not study, it was almost impossible to carry out a conversation. Now I have to concetrate to hear a very muffled distant sound of the footsteps above. This is much better that expected, since structure noise is impossible to block completely. Besides the expertise and competent consultation, Mr Fierstein has also shown high degree of professionalism; he helped every step of the way and has been been instrumental in helping me to negotiate with the distributor. I cannot recommend him strongly enough, and I encourage everyone who is serious about soundproofing their dwelling to obtain an expert acoustics consultation before starting the project.
