This place is the best rated in the area. I have been staying here for years. If you stay for a few nights you will love it Im sure!Clean, comfortable, accessible. Wonderful staff. Erika at the front desk was superb! Went out of her way to help us and suggest places to visit around the city. The day after she still remembered us and directed us again. The personal touch that you dont see too often anymore! Would definitely stay there again!
Positive: The location was great. The view from our room was amazing. The room was really clean. It was really quiet in our room, and the bed was super comfortable. Negative: The M Club was not open, the restaurant was not open, the room was a little on the small side, while I am good with not having my room cleaned while there, there should be a plan to replace the shampoo, soap, etc., and maybe leave a couple of extra towels
Standard double queen room was a bit small..lobby and bar was nice. Staff was friendly..the store in the lobby is the best Ive seen in a hotel..they had everything...pool area was nice too... the breakfast was good. You have to have the GRITS! Yummy.
Nice place friendly employees. But there was no tub n the closet door was broke
We had a great time as always in NOLA. This hotel was located in the perfect location for us and had a GREAT view of the city and Mississippi River. The room was a little small with a 2 year old but we truly enjoyed it. The room was clean and well stocked. From the looks of the other areas we explored, the entire hotel was maintained well. The TV and cable was fantastic.Keith, the bellman was absolutely fantastic. Super friendly staff from the front desk to the valet! We will definitely stay here again!

The rooms are a little bit small. I know they did some renovations but I think they added more beds to the rooms which makes it very hard to maneuver around.. The parking situation has to be fixed. I love to stay at Marriott but boy this ones a tough one but its still a good hotel if you dont mind the smaller rooms. Great location Staff is very attentive To your needs.
Stayed here during Hurricane Ida. The Hotel did their best to keep us informed of when we would lose power & have no running water. Gave food & water as much as they could. Bussed all the guest to Houston that wanted to go, to another hotel so we could have all the amenities we were supposed to. At no charge. Thank you Marriott for going above and beyond in such a scary and difficult time. You have a customer for life.
Renee and Ashton are incredible! They were kind, courteous, and very professional through all the hurricane drama! True examples of hospitality. Mr. Marriott, they deserve a raise
Pool area was great. Sits on fifth floor above canal street. Family friendly. Room had a great view of river, harrahs, and canal Street. Sat in the window often just admiring the scenery
Excellent location. Our room could have been cleaner when we arrived. We were there for four days. The common areas and the elevators couldve have definitely received more attention. Front desk had great customer service. I dont think I would stay here again.
Positive: The hotel was extremely clean and smelled very good. The lossy of the hotel had a excellent vibe and layout. The location was in the center of the French Quarter. Just about everything is in walking distance. I would book again.
This was a great stay. Perfect location. Our room was clean and hotel is pretty clean. Night shift front desk staff are rude and not friendly especially the lady with the bald head. They always have a attitude. Day shift staff were great!
Beautiful lobby with many amenities. Great bar, restaurant. Room was beautiful and comfortable bed. Wonderful views. Corner view room of river and French Quarter.
This hotel is like airport fast food -- overpriced, mediocre, and relying completely on prime location to stay in business. Long holds on the phone if you need to call them, which you will because they communicate so poorly about the check-in process. Different employees give different answers to questions about parking hours, which meant we had to constantly change our plans. Valet retrieval can take a while. Small and old rooms, especially for the price. Fees and mandatory valet parking add on almost $100. WiFi is free if you sign up for an account, and they might charge you the $11 or so even if you do sign up. We had to remind them to take that charge off. Wed paid for a city view but had to remind them of that, too. No free breakfast. The room was clean, as was the entire hotel. No disappointment there.Great view and location, obviously, but there has to be a better hotel around here. I doubt Ill be coming back unless I feel like paying too much.
Positive: Location. Close to everything. We walked everywhere. Staff was super nice. Room was great and a nice view of the river. Negative: Be prepared for $50.00 +/night for parking. Downtown will always have a parking fee. The valets were very nice but it was pricey however the vehicle was safe and well taken care of. It did not take long at all to pick it up.
I did not stay at this hotel and only visited during their happy hour which was amazing. Happy hour starts at 5 pm and they have a dj in the lobby/food area. Hundreds of people from all ethnicities, ages and cultures congregated for this event. I had such a fun amazing time dancing, drinking and eating. I loved the atmosphere and vibe and commend the Marriott for hosting such an excellent event. I loved seeing everyone having a good time and intermingling with each other.
Everything was perfect other than the over priced parking. They charge me $250 for 5 days that was more than my room. I felt so ripped off when I left. But the hotel itself is nice. And valet had us waiting 45 minutes for our car. Crazy
Beautiful hotel. Best elevators ever. Our room on the 21st floor had a great view of the Mississippi river. It was centrally located walking distance to the French quarter. The downside was no on premises restaurants to speak of. You had to specifically request maid service. Isnt it implicit that we all want room service? When we dont we put the do not disturb sign on the outside door handle. Adding to the frustration is when you call housekeeping no one answers the phone. Compounding that frustration is when, in passing, you spot a maids cart on your floor and contact a maid directly you discover that she is monolingual, as sadly so am I. As a consequence we had maid service twice in six days. It didnt spoil our time in NO though. Great food. Nice people. Lots to see and do.
Positive: Location- close enough to easily walk to Bourbon St at night and around French Quarter in the morning/during the day, yet far enough away at night for a little peace. Negative: So many extra fees (parking, internet, etc) for a standard hotel. The bathroom was TINY. You had to move out of the way inside to shut the door. Some of the fixtures were loose/just hanging on to the bar. AC shut itself off at some point.
Positive: The location and the space in the room. Negative: We stayed here for a wedding. When it was time to leave to go to the wedding they could not find my car keys. It took them about an hour to find them. We miss half of the wedding ceremony. My husband missed seeing my daughter as the flowergirl.
Positive: The hotel was very clean and perfectly located for all of the activities we had planned. I was especially happy that they are taking COVID restrictions seriously and have signs placed everywhere requiring masks.
Nice Marriott, and location location location! Central spot next to Canal street shopping and equidistant from casino and Bourbon Street. I was here on a slam packed Friday and Saturday this week. Tons and tons of people, but surprisingly quiet room and comfortable set up. Not much else to say....it was worth it!
Had friends in town from Florida for the weekend. They stayed here at the Marriott on canal. Its a gorgeous hotel! First thing I saw was a bloody mary bar greeting me as I entered. The place is very clean. Some of the employees seemed dull and not interested in being at work but we all have our days. The pool area is gigantic with plenty of room for all. The view from the room showed the river and downtown all lit up! It was a beautiful view!! Bed was most comfy with wonderful bedding that makes resting to recoup a joy!
Positive: The room was clean and quiet Negative: This hotel is huge w masses of sweaty people milling about inside and out since it¿s on Canal Street. It New Orleans so there is a sea of humanity but in the future I will pick a nicer hotel without so many people all over the place. It was a good pric
Positive: It was in a good location in the city. Negative: Room keys did not work on initial check in, replacements did not work, third set of keys also did not work. Spend 45 minutes going up and down the elevator to get new keys. Finally let in by security and room smelled like smoke.
This is a nice hotel. But be careful they try to charge you for everything. This includes the Bell Guy. They wont let you use the carts. U dont have a choice on Vallet parking. Which is nice until u get the bill. Then it takes forever to get your car cause everything is so chaotic in the parking garage. They are racing the cars, peeling out as they drive off. We watched as we waited for our car. Would not stay again.
Stayed at this location for a meeting associated with my work. I wanted to especially mention Jackie who waited on me in the lobby dining room. She made me feel especially welcome and hoped to see me again during my stay. She is a real asset to the Marriott!
I would like to know if anyone else was given a fraudulent parking bill at the end of their stay. I came from Baltimore and rode Ubers the entire time but they tried to charge me with parking a car in the garage and refused to correct it until I dialed 911. Check your bill people and credit card statements!
I had the executive room and then replaced it for a corner King on the 35th floor (so I had both City and River views)Overall, the hotel is located in a perfect location close to most NOLA attractions and the French quarter. However, hotel amenities and cleanliness are not good. The floor in my room was not clean and had drink marks all around the floor and parts of it was even sticky 🤢…The lobby had some nice smell, but other floors had wired odor.Location: 5/5View: 5/5Services: 3/5Cleanliness: 2/5
The hotel was very nice and close to the French quarter. Easy access to trolleys and buses as well. Enjoyed our stay!
Positive: I liked the location and ambiance of the hotel. Negative: I didn¿t like waiting for an hour to be told parking was full.We then had to walk with our luggage to another parking lot about 3 blocks away. I think parking should be reserved for guests only. It should also be noted that parking may be limited.
Positive: The pool concept was great just not big enough for a hotel with many rooms Negative: The restaurant was closed. Hallways were dirty even after cleaning personnel were cleaning rooms. The bathroom was small. I would rate this a 3 star not 4 star
Perfect! Ill start with the service desk, we didnt have a reservation because it was a spare of the moment trip. We walked in and we were greeted by a beautiful young lady named Bianca, mind you, we were on the road for 5 hours in the blazing hot sun on a Harley so, I was a little tired and irritated but Bianca went out of her way to get us a room on a busy day. The Marriott is the perfect location for all the attractions and it also has everything you need inside. The restaurant inside had the best gumbo Ive ever tasted not to mention great service as well. There is also a star bucks on site that was much needed and appreciated after a long night of partying on the french quarter 😂 ( forgot how old I was) but anywho, the room was very clean, bed was comfortable and the view of the city and the river was phenomenal. Ill definitely be coming back and I hope Bianca is moved up to the highest form of management by then because she was awesome! Ill never forget her.
Longtime local Hospitality industry professional, semi-retired & a hard sell on level of professionalism, service & standards of excellence overall. Trust me, without hesitation, across the board. These guys got this down. From reservations, check-in/out, housekeeping!, bell hops!, security!,(nothing gets past these guys). Plus, professsional valet parking on premises. Its a bargain. 2 Rooftop pools excellent for chillin sunbathing & gawking;-).Location alone will entertain you.
Positive: The food was amazing. The staff was gracious and accomodating! Negative: The blankets and curtains were stained. The room smelled stale. The double beds were really small.
Loved the stay just not the final experience of being told one thing but being charged another. I was upfront with my expectations as a Bonvoy Elite Customer. Not acceptable. Need a manager or someone on this ASAP
Great place to stay right in the middle of everything. Bar was always busy and noisy. Wish there was a hot tub. View from room was amazing.
The check in process took a little to long. The room I was in had a nice view. The bed was comfortable but the AC was not very cold. The bar area was always very busy with a good vibe.
Positive: N.O. Marriott exceeded our expectations. We loved our room on one of the highest floors, with incredible view of the city and French Quarter. Bed was so comfortable and bathroom very clean and beautifully appointed. No hidden fees like other hotels had. Negative: Great location, close to everything we wanted to see. Unfortunately the beautiful pool deck was closed due to Covid.
I like this hotel. It was nice. The check in was very easy. The staff was nice and had great conversation. Parking is additional $50 but to be honest...JUST DO IT. They were nice as well in parking and suggested good places to visit/eat. You can find other parking but they going to charge a good bit as well. The elevator lol is special. The ride is fast when you on the 21st level. The room itself was nice, comfortable. There is no microwave and at first I was like “why..blah blah” until I realized it’s a way to keep the rooms clean from bugs..well that’s my take on it. The view was amazing at night and u could sleep with the view but just know that sunlight will wake you 🙂 I recommend ❤️
We arrived hours before check in time to just drop off our bags, but our room was ready! Friendly service, clean room and bathroom with a view of the Mississippi River. Great location with restaurants, bars, streetcar stops and bus stops close by. Would stay here again!
You cannot go wrong with a Marriott property and this one was amazing. The great service started at check in. The areas are kept clean the staff was kind and helpful at all times
Positive: Beautiful hotel, great location, lots of amenities. Negative: Sort of a unruly crowd that was there for the weekend...swimming pool area was loud, unruly, smelled of marijuana, and multiple persons were sitting by the pool drinking from entire fifths of alcohol with glass containers. No hotel staff to be seen.
I would rate this as a one but the staff at this Marriot were nice. Otherwise I did not enjoy my room. I was booked a room that smelt like cigarettes. I then switched rooms to one that the AC was not working well. The fan would run but there wasnt any cold air. I had the temperature the lowest it could go and my room still felt a little muggy and warm. The bathrooms were extremely small and could not fit two people comfortably. I also found a razor blade cover in the shower, so I have no idea if they even properly cleaned the room. My husband and I were very disappointed in our stay as this is not an inexpensive hotel to stay at. You definitely dont get your moneys worth when staying here.
Sticky carpet in the room. Big spots, and several. 1 person bathroom, dont think you and your partner can be in there simultaneously. Good bar, excellent bartenders. Great location,Otherwise fine, just a room, nothing fancy.
The hotel is in a great location but was too loud and expected better service. Our room did not have hand soap and the check in staff was less than friendly to my wife. Dhe also stated she would talk to the valet about charging me when I had already paid which did not happen. The rooms are nice enough but expected more from a Marriott. Recommend going elsewhere.
Its an older property and the rooms are out of date. The best thing it has going for it is its location and bar/restaurant. If you can get a good deal, its worth the booking as your not going to spend much time in there anyways.
It is only a name ... enter and you will realize the truth, it has nonturnal insects and it has a very unpleasant smell ... of five stars it has nothing
First time back here since covid. The stay is still great, rooms are still clean and the service is top notch. However, you can clearly see that things arent the same. In sure that as things ramp back up, they will be back to full capacity with tons of folks in the lobby. This is always my number 1 choice for hotel stays in Nola.
Marriott on Canal Street New Orleans is a great location however it is not exactly tourist-friendly!Parking is $50/day!Breakfast is $25!ATM in lobby is $4 for a transaction! The Food Pantry has stuff priced off the charts.Menas Palace is on Chatres St just 25 yards away and breakfast is wonderful ... around $12 with coffee!Marriott is a tourist trap, heads up!
Double bed rooms are not two queen size bed they are two full size beds. Checking in takes forever. The line was always so long no matter how late or early you come. Valet takes forever but they work so hard to get everyone there car so they arr probably just understaffed. Either way schedule atleast 20 minutes extra if you are getting your car from valet. The actual location of the hotel perfect not to far away from Bourbon street but not too close either. Most thing will be with in walking distance.
Room was ok. Location is great for walking, touring. Many great restaurants in walking distance. Did not clean our room for several days. I had go to front desk and ask since phone in rood did not work. Even though house cleaning was 2 room s down from me that evening they could not clean it, but was able to bring towels. Used (valet) parking
This New Orleans Marriott is centrally located on Canal Street, just a short walk to Jackson Square or the Harrahs casino or even the river walk. The rooms were more and up to date and the hotel has enough floors to give you amazing views of the Mississippi River and the night lights of the city.Rooms: B+ (modern and clean)Views: A+Location: AAmenities: BCustomer Service: A++ (staff makes you feel welcome)
The location and physical hotel are excellent. It is right in the heart of New Orleans and conveniently located to everything. The problem here is the staff. Everyone is rude, from the front desk staff to the wait staff. They seem to be inconvenienced by the guests and just don’t want you there. The bartenders are just as bad. This must be major leadership problem within this hotel as this certainly isn’t what you’d expect from a Marriot in a major city. Really disappointing!
Positive: The location was perfect and the hotel was extremely clean. Negative: I didn¿t like the fact my first night at the hotel I had to park my vehicle 4 blocks from the hotel and walk back to the hotel. I also noticed when arriving people were getting there vehicle parked that was staying at the hotel to walk the strip. ¿
Positive: It was near all the attractions and was very clean. The staff were very friendly and courteous. It was very safe. Negative: The parking is extremely expensive because only valet parking is available. It¿s not safe to park on the street. There is a long wait (20-30 min) to pick up your car when checking out.
Positive: Location, decor, and staff. The hotel is beautiful and located minutes away from popular attractions. The staff were friendly and provided great service. Negative: The hotel charges for everything.... such as internet in the room, using the computer in the business center, etc. Also, the room did not have a microwave. When we arrived the AC did not blow cold air. The first night was extremely hot. Room was standard.
Not the quality marriott I am accustomed to regarding the room size decor and bathroom. The rest of the hotel is fine but the personal space is quality inn caliber. Mehhhhh.
This hotel shines in the service department, but could really use a face-lift aesthetic wise. The rooms are old, and the hotel besides the lobby area is quite run down. I didnt experience any of the noise issues, but as I walked to the elevator there were a ton of noisy rooms so keep that in mind. This hotel is right in the middle of the action, but for me personally its too close to the action. I wouldnt go out of my way to stay here, but would if the price was right.
Positive: The convince of places to eat and to bourbon street Negative: We needed wheelchair/handicap accessible and did not get it. We were on the 12th floor in room farthest from the elevator. Very inconvenient for handicap.
Positive: Location was great. You can literally walk less than five minutes and be at several attractions in the immediate area. Negative: Nope was wonderful.
My stay was not the best I have seen. I was checked out of my room early and the staff wanted to reswipe my card. The hotel needs a deep cleaning and air fresheners.
It was nice and clean. Nothing to write home about and nothing really to make it stand out. Good service and nice staff.
Staff is friendly rooms not bad but very thin walls, cold hear just about everything next door. Takes ten minutes for hot water to heat up on the 21st floor. Very convenient location but for the price I will try a different hotel next time.
Positive: The view from the 21st floor was great. Negative: The receptionist at check in was rude. Other staff I encountered were very pleasant.
Positive: The hotel was attractively decorated, rooms were clean, and elevators were exceptionally fast. Negative: Room was pretty small for a 4-star. Check-in agent was fairly abrupt, although other staff were quite pleasant. The hotel was often very noisy, as was the street outside. The entrance to the hotel was not well-kept; always looked a little grimy
Great location and located the tv channels and guide. Also the mobile remote was cool. Amazing service as well.
Positive: Location was excellent. Very clean. Service was great Negative: Parking was expensive and elevators were slow
Positive: What¿s not to love about this hotel! Our view of the Mississippi River and city from the 18th floor was absolutely phenomenal! The room was clean, the bed & feather pillows were very comfortable, and the staff was excellent! Can¿t wait for the next Negative: Not a single negative thing to report!
If anybody is looking for great deals for hotels browse through ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ reserved a hotel on there and these guys had the lowest prices any where! This was a great place to stay. I loved everything. We got an early check-in and a late check-out. Valet was awesome. The bartender was fabulous!
Positive: The location was great, parking was ok a little pricey but good Negative: They need to go by the room and clean better, shampoo the carpet cause they were extremely dirty, better washing to towels dont leave 1 that still has makeup on it thats disgusting
Well Im so glad I called before booking. I called to ask a few questions being that Im not from there and planning a special trip to there. I must say my call to the hotel let me know I should not stay here. The customer service agent was very dry and responded with one word answers. To the point I just stopped asking questions after my 2 question and said thanks for no help. She excitedly said youre welcome and hung up.I guess they didnt want my service.
Clean, quiet, nice pools, no hot tub, main restaurant seems to be hiding from COVID... two visits this year and closed both times. Recommend Mombos just around the corner on Bourbon St. Should also consider eating at Dat Dog. Cafe Du Monde is a must! Try alligator sausage anywhere. Delicious!!!
I havent stayed there, by friends were staying there, the rooms were nice. The bathroom seemed small though. The room space itself seemed small. Like having a large suitcase theres almost no where to be able to open. It that will not hit some piece of furniture or the wall.
This is the best hotel in the city. Bre at the front desk was the most helpful person I have ever met. Not only did she help me but I saw her help everyone that she encountered. What an outstanding staff.
The room rate was fine, nice large room and clean. THE PARKING FEE FOR GUEST IS NOTHING SHORT OF HIGHWAY ROBBERY!! I mean what do they expect their guest who drive there to do with thier cars???
Positive: Staff was very nice Great location Negative: Pool was gross. Sides of tile were caked with grime. I manage a local pool and I was disgusted with the pool. I chose this hotel and actually canceled another reservation because they didn¿t have a pool very disappointed
Nice hotel, it sits on Canal Street. Lots of shopping and restaurants near by, within walking distance.
Positive: Location was good. Keep attention to parking being extra, and surcharge for pets Negative: Worn down, carpets getting gross, elevators worn. No room service. Food options from pantry does not cater to those with allergies.
Positive: Building was spectacularl. Staff was extremely friendly and the location was perfect! Just minutes to the Alamo and the Riverwalk
Great location right in the center of the city. Its a vast functional hotel that is affordable and offers nice city and river views from the upper floors of the River Tower. Rooms are nicely renovated, shared areas are a bit dated but youre not in New Orleans to hit the gym.
The rooms were clean and the staff was personable. Iris, one of the cleaning staff members, was very kind and efficient.
Went to the casino very nice and clean. I didnt win much but I had a good time.
Positive: Location is great. Negative: Bar drinks were lacking flavor. No expresso Martinis available either.
Positive: Pool and location Negative: They tried to scam me by charging me for parking but I never had a car there I caught Uber or walked everywhere. It wasn¿t until I called the cops when they finally decided to refund my money.
Positive: Staff was quick to respond and address issues Negative: The cleanliness of the hotel room. After bringing it to their attention, they resolved quickly. Thing is, no one should have complaints about the cleanliness of the room during this pandemic. I felt like I had walked into a room full of virus and disease.
Great location and easy parking. Walkable distance from most attractions and a really nice pool! Everything was well maintained and clean.
Positive: Location, staff, view, bed Negative: Safe in closet wouldn¿t work - reported it to front desk twice, no repair or follow up Pillows too soft
Good place. Good location to visit uptown and downtown
Positive: Good location, potentially good view. Negative: Bad water quality, very noisy rooms either from poor isolation to mechanical cabinets, bad room assignments next to elevator shaft or failure to address equipment issue. It¿s poor house keeping to not realize them before sending customers.
Absolutely awesome very clean much fun and food and the entertainment was great as well as the service.
Historic hotel treated kindly with a modern update. Great location, great amenities and great staff!
Great staff but omg do not stay here because of their horrible elevator system!!! You wait forever in a covid incubator full dozens of hot sweaty humans..will never stay here again. Two bed room and we got one really small bar of soap. Shower head was at about 5ft talll... And towels were very rough. 3stars are better
Positive: In my opinion, the hotel is in the perfect spot - not too close to bourbon street, but close enough to walk if you want to check it out. I don¿t think it¿s a 4 star hotel though. It¿s a little dated, in need of some repairs and fixes. I would say Negative: First room was not clean and had a really strong smell of cigarette smoke. I know that smoking is not the fault of the hotel. But the second room was not super clean and definitely some paint patching and minor fixes like curtains repaired, etc.
