We checked in on a Thursday - Sunday. The staff at all times we very friendly and prompt if something was needed. Great location and overall vibe! Our room was clean and perfect for an adult get away! We booked a king room, tho would have been too small if you brought your family. Weβll definitely be back π₯°
SUPER SAFE!! Get the room with valet!! THEY DO CHARGE A DEPOSIT! So buyer beware! Yes improvements could be made BUT, thatβs typical! The experience was priceless!! STAFF WAS A1! Loved the front desk clerk on 7-16-21 she was awesome! I had such a great bday! Glad we read the reviews and chose to stay here! Great views! Great experience! Yes the smell was different and moldy & the water pressure was low but the overall experience of bourbon street was worth it!
Front desk staff was amazing. She made me and my dog feel very welcome and was incredibly friendly to my pup every time we went in and out of the lobby. I also saw her deal with some difficult customers with an insane level of professionalism. The room was clean and ready upon check in and has been pretty quiet. Itβs also a great location. I do wish that the dog policy was more relaxed so I could visit the pool, that there was a bottle open for bottles bought at the snack/beverage section, and that there was additional front desk staff to cut down on wait times.
Dirty Floors, Dirty carpet, Dirty/Nasty toilet, Super Nasty sticky and greasy shower, no soap or shampoo as the dispenser was emptyβ¦Dirty Everything and no working light in the bathroomβ¦what the heck is this?? Having mentioned the lack of sanitation, I also have to give credit to the awesome facilities engineer (Ralph) who went the extra mile to immediately fix the bathroom light issue. Angel and the other guys at the Valet Parking are INCREDIBLY OUTSTANDING! The ladies at the front desk did a good job as well. Employees are great, it is just the cleaning team not doing their jobs and the nasty rooms that lead to this rating.
They wont clean the room. We keep asking and they keep saying its not our floors day. They said it would be the 17th day of our stay because we were in the room when they offered once before. The room is also super loud and there is no division between the bathroom and bedroom so you cant get ready or use the toilet without waking everyone up. The shower has no where to store toiletries and they took the soap dispenser on the 2nd day and havent replaced it.There is no microwave in the room and the fridge is very small. The coffee machine in the lobby is broken. The TV doesnt work. The A/C went out on my last day. It was 15 degrees hotter than I set it when I came back for bed. Nasty surprise. The parking garage is also VERY small. Dont expect to park a truck in there.I wouldnt recommend this hotel. There is better options in the area.***Note: The bartender at the hotel bar, Issac, is amazing. Go to the bar, he is great.***
The customer service here is great, but the rooms were sub par. When I got to my first room it was hot and had a heavy smell of smoke. The AC was not working, the lights were blown & the tables & carpets looked like they were not wiped down or vacuumed. I called downstairs & someone came up to fix the AC. He told me that he was in the same room earlier that day and I would have to change rooms because it wasnβt going to work. The next room was better, but that entire wing smelled like smoke. (I wasnβt aware if this was a smoking hotel). The lights in the shower are basically non existent and I was just uncomfortable the rest of my time because I felt like this room probably wasnβt cleaned either. I only stayed one night so it was okay, but I would not stay there again. There are other Marriotts nearby for similar prices that are significantly better.
We stayed for girls trip, and checked the mattress in this hotel and they were nasty!! I understand that hotels canβt control what happens on mattress but they could be better cleaned. And we did change hotels rooms but they were also dirty. Due to it being a weekend and late it would have been expensive to find another hotel so we had no choice but to continue our stay there. Aloft brand should be embarrassed to offer customers beds like this to lay on. The hotel offer 50% off 1 night stay which I feel was not acceptable could have did more. Also the pool was dirty I will not be staying again
The ladies at the front desk were nice. The bartender was on FaceTime in the middle of making drinks, like we were inconveniencing her.The hotel room is dirty. The carpet smells, the sheets felt dirty, the shower had mold. No no no.I thought the bad reviews were just Karens but I was wrong. The pool looks a lot better than it actually is. Nothing is sanitized, or cleaned appropriately. Just stay somewhere else!Iβve had a good experience at the Aloft in Chicago but did not have the same luck in New Orleans.
Not very clean. Floors are sticky. Had to have maintenance replace 2 light bulbs and the tv remote. Soap and shampoo is provided via a dispenser in the shower, which can easily be tampered with by previous guests. Will not return.
By far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The first room we were placed in we opened the door and the smell of smoke poured out. The staff was kind enough to move us but we were downgraded to a room with no windows and half the lights were broken so we had to use our flashlight to look for our belongings. The valet staff was incredibly rude and we had to wait 30 minutes for our car to be brought to us.
We had to be evacuated in the middle of the night because apparently itβs also condos so we had to walk down 15 flights of stairs couldnβt even get compensated for something that is the hotels fault only stay two night for almost 300 I will never stay here again very unprofessional every time you ask someone at the front desk or staff itβs attitude will not be back
Friendly staff very nice and clean. The location is absolutely phenomenal
Had a great stay, at a good price, with no pet fee. Nice hotel, a few employees could use some help with their customer service and attitudes. Front desk lady (named Jennifer, was amazing! Super nice!)
I stayed here for two nights July 5-7. The room was clean and the front desk staff were friendly. On-site parking is valet only and you have to call the front desk to ask them to bring your vehicle around which took about 15-20 minutes. The only gripe I had with my stay is that I wasnt able to check in at 4 PM as stated on their website but the front desk notified me around 4:30 PM that my room was ready. The housekeeping was also only available at request and had to be requested the day before. The location was great and the French Quarter/Bourbon St., Riverwalk and Harrahs are all within a 15 minute walk.
Our room was filthy! The sink/vanity, bathroom, and floors were all gross. Even the carpet looked as if itβs never been vacuumed. And as a bonus, the queen size beds I requested were full sized. Nearly an entire bottle of bleach was used to do what housekeeping couldnβt or didnβt. Overall, it left a sour and disappointing impression; i expect better from the Marriot brand. I would NOT stay at this location again nor would I recommend it to anyone else.
Ill tell you something that online travel agents do not want you to know. When reserving hotels use Κα΄α΄α΄ΚΚα΄ΚΚΚ.α΄α΄α΄ They easily have the best deals on hotels! Much better than using expedia, priceline, agoda. Thats for sure!!!beautiful hotel spacious clean unique rooms extremely soft beds the amenities were very nice as well. The staff were all friendly and accommodating will definitely stay again
The staff is friendly great location beautiful pool area
Room is clean but only one towel? Only one desk person and always a line. That was the case entire stay. Valet parking was understaffed so we parked at nearby garage. Was quicker. Cant even get a cup of fresh brewed coffee?? This hotel like so many others, covid excuses so not up to normal standard
It was a nice hotel. Small rooms but nice.
Positive: Staff was great, we had so many questions and the woman at the desk was outstanding please oompliment her for service. We could not have had such a great time with out her advice and guidance on the area and recommendations. Negative: Not a thing!!!!
If youre staying with a pet, the fee is free but the nearest patch of grass for the dogs to do their necessities is 3 blocks away. The parking fee is $45 which is extremely high if youre just leaving the car in their parking lot for your stay. I wish they would give you the option or ask if you plan to go in and out or just leave it. Otherwise on the other side of the street is a parking garage that charges $20. Mind you, they charge $45 if youre taking your car in and out while parking garage will charge you $20 everytime you bring the car back in. But if you plan to just Uber or take the trolleys, then leave it somewhere else. Our room was kind of clean except that we found candy on the floor near the beds. Otherwise, now that I know all this, I would probably stay here again just not with a pet.
It is a very clean hotel. I love the sentry from the room. Also the bathrooms are nice. Nice comfortable bed with a 42 inch tv. I go here just to get away
Great location outside the noise of bourbon street but within 5/10 min walk..room was clean and modern and most importantly beds are super comfy!! love the fact they have food and bev in lobby for purchase.. water pressure could be much better but thats the only negative
Very good. Just not enough towels. Problem with tv. Pool was open!!
Friendly workers very happy and showed us a good time was very helpful as well
Great hotel and nearby everything !!! Friendly staff. I would say the most expensive thing was valet parking . There is a public parking deck around the corner and this will save you about $20 a day. Besides that, I would recommend this hotel!
Dena and the ladies at the front desk were super friendly. They went above and beyond to make our stay a great one -we escaped the power outages in TX last week and they went above and beyond to accommodate us and gave us a great space to work during those days. Great hospitality and value staying here!
It is a good centralized location everything is about 20 min walk from this location.
I checked in and tried to charge bottled water to the room . The front checkin staff said there was an issue and they could not charge to the room. I asked the agent to look into the issue and she indicated βwe donβt control these computers and I canβt fix the issueβ. I asked again for her to resolve the issue and I received the same lazy response. I paid for the bottled water with my credit card vs charging to the room. The agent refused to fix the issue as requested.Very unprofessional response for any guest. It shouldnβt matter that I have lifetime member status and 1987 total nights with Marriott.I have stayed in hundredsof Marriott Le and have never received such poor basic service. My experience was by far the poorest of any Marriott location.
Fotos really represent the place. Cool atmosphere and extremely well placed. Close to everything but not too noise. It may be time to replace the carpet (or the vacuum or give the staff a new training) because it was dirty. We complained, they re-cleaned and it was still dirty (dog hair, dog food, other small stuff...)
Positive: It was beautiful! Negative: Parking
As usual, Aloft was a great stay! Clean rooms and great location. Only a 5-10 min walk to bourbon street for great food! I didnβt feel unsafe at all from the hotel to the bourbon street strip.
The staff who run this place are absolutely inaccessible. For 2 weeks I have left voicemails on every possible voicemail box including sales, executive etc. no replies. We had a rough stay there and the compensation was a single complementary night. I was calling them to get help using it, unfortunately, given the lack of any response I can tear up the certificate and never, ever stay with them again. The location is great, nothing else is and the lack of responses tells all you need to know. Im kinda glad I did not leverage the certificate. Given a lack of attention just to booking it, they are obviously still poorly run and maintained. A real shame, and they should be ashamed of themselves to treat any guest this way, but as a lifetime Titanium guest its even worse.
Room was ok. Expected a little more. Other aloft hotel was different. I guess I Expected that type of room. We left early due to Ida.
Nice ambiance and the bar/bartenders were great!!
Ive enjoyed my stay. I felt safe as people cant use the elevators without a key as if being in a gated community. The valet was quick to get my car. The one thing I didnt care for was their charging methods. I was charged a full day before I even checked in, then charged more when I checked in, then again the next day for valet (which was included in my stay package) I was told it would be removed. So all in all nice stay, for the most part clean and neat (when I travel I use my own bed stuff, covers, pillows, blanket), just keep an eye out for your charges before you check out.
Great modern hotel! Beautiful lobby with cool neon lights outside front door which blink based on movement underneath and represent the waterways and tributaries of the Mississippi River. Rooms were very nice and clean with many windows that were double blinded for privacy and kept out daylight. Beds comfortable. Very nice walk in shower. Located in French Quarter and a close walk to Canal Street and other New Orleans downtown hotspots. Could see the Superdome from our room. Highly recommend!!
I didnt go there but still looks amazing!!! cant wait to go there in summer
Pernells is such a gem and the only reason i will ever come back, she made my roadtrip from NYC a lot easier & is a real, Kristi was such a generous person too, i seriously thank you all because this road trip was fun but definitely not easy
Pretty dope rentals nice modern and well taken care of.Show securities delivery packages a little better though or contemplatethe hire of an in house delivery person to maintain door services once packages are delivered to the building
Nice room & bar, service was good, especially the barkeep lady
Tesla owners beware. Nola has potholes and being a Tesla owner I am extremely cautious because I know my car is abnormally heavy and the engine is on the axels. You HAVE to valet your car if you want it to be plugged in. Not only do I have curb rash on my rim which I know is not from me but I have a leak in my tire. I have not confirmed the leak is from a cracked rim but I did watch the valet pull up to the stop sign towards canal street abruptly. Am am just assuming. The curb rash is 100 % from that valet. I am absolutely positive about that. Have not contacted the hotel yet so this could go up or down in stars.
Great experience! Employees are friendly and the rooms are clean. The shower was so relaxing and the bed comfy!
This was our 2nd time staying at this hotel and had the same experience both times even though it was 5 years between the visits. At 4 AM the fire alarm went off. We went down 13 flights of stairs at 4 AM just to be told for everyone to return to their rooms as the situation has been resolved. So we wait in line for the elevator. At 6 AM same thing. We called down this time and was told everything is ok. At 8 AM same thing. Needless to say we didnβt get much sleepTherefore we forgot our jackets hanging in the closet. We realized this just about an hour after we left and called the hotel. They said they would look and also gave us a website to go to report the lost items. We did the very next day and never heard anything back. We gave it a couple of days and called again. Needless to say we didnβt get our jackets back. Did housekeeping keep it or did they not even open the closet to see it and the next guests got them? Who knows? This is a nice looking hotel but we will NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN!!! Very disappointed!
Stayed for a weekend and it was lovely! The room was big and clean they included sanitary wipes in the bathroom which was nice to have on hand. The ladies at the front desk were absolutely amazing. Autumn, Pernella, and Kay were great they had no problem helping and answering any of our questions. They were the best part of the hotel.
Cool hotel! Near everything
Rooms are really small...we had a valuable item stolen in valet. Also, they went through everything in our vehicle...horrible experience
Positive: The location and cleanliness of my room Negative: No, nothing at all!
Positive: Staff was extremely nice & hospitable. Prime location, 15 minute walk from French Quarter. Negative: No
You have to use your key to open elevators and most of the doors. The front desk lady was very patient and polite.
Positive: The decor. Nice clean. Negative: Nothing
I would give Aloft a 3.8, not really the experience I expected even with Covid guidelines going on... the air in the room took forever to cool the room off, none of the things were available like bar and restaurant which again I understand to a certain extent... the pool area wasnt open which is one of the main attractions at the hotel and considering nothing is available they should at least reduce the valet parking that takes forever from $43 to maybe $20, the people at the front desk were pleasant and friendly though...requested towels at night, never got them had to call again in the morning for towels
Positive: Location Negative: I hate that they didnt tell us it was a dog friendly hotel. My son has very bad allergies and he got sick. We also had to here dogs barking for 30 minutes for sure.
Great Stay and Bar πΈ π
I am so glad I stayed at this hotel. It was a great value especially if you can take advantage of one of their discounts. The valet service was great but there is nearby public parking if valet is not your thing. It was safe, quiet, and modern. The front desk staff was kind and answered all my questions and even kindly gave me another key when I locked myself out. The bar a nice place to mingle or even get a little work done during the day. It is a short walk from all the places you wanted to be. During my 3 day stay I only got in my car once! I walked everywhere else. The fitness center is great and the pool is too. The rooms are spacious and up to date/modern. The room I stayed in did not have a tub but the shower pod was great and really suitable for the tall (and small). There are no microwaves in the rooms but there is one in the lobby. There is a refrigerator in the room though. Only downside was the breakfast. All of the pastries were a bit hard/ dry but they looked beautiful.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Every thing that we had planned was in walking distance, even the Port of NOLA. We were able to experience Mardi Gras, a Big Freedia and spent time together before heading to the Port of NOLA for my husbands birthday cruise. The Aloft New Orleans Downtown gave me the southern hospitality that I miss so much!
Positive: The staff Negative: No
Bad serviceHorrible staff
The check-in process was quick and easy. Jennifer was helpful and resourceful when I needed to upload and send out some important - and time-sensitive - documents. The locations is excellent! In the CBD area. Lots of delicious restaurant options nearby and local attractions. The upkeep and vibe of the property is, in my opinion, superb. With the exception of the lumpy pillows.
Right now they are practicing all the Corona 19 virus precautions but the prices should reflect no breakfast or lunches.
Great time friendly staff
My husband and I stayed here for one night. We where in town for a concert at the smoothie king center. The location of the hotel worked out great as it was with in waking distance to the Smoothie King center and the French Quarter. The room was a spacious corner room on the 16th floor. It had pretty basic amenities and was clean. The bathroom only has a shower, which was fine by me, but the lighting was pretty bad in the bathroom .Although we didnβt not utilize the bar/ restaurant, it had a modern decor and seemed nice . We would definitely stay here again.
This Hotel charged my card an extra $300.00 $200.00 smokers fee, and two $50.00 holds, and have yet to reimburse my money. The House Manager has yet to contact me, to provide the evidence of her claims. HORRIBLE. Next move for me is court. Im completely traumatized with the whole situation.
The rooms are nice and good food.
Although my stay was not the best I still give them 4 stars because the team was very helpful and sweet. I would definitely recommend them.
The rooms where decent, carpet seems dingy and sink drained slow, seemed like each person who worked the front desk was extremely rude, had a incident where Angel (front desk worker) opened a sliding door and it trapped my 3yr olds arm between the two glass where it overlays, never got a apology from Angel, a manager or anyone but the witnesses who saw it. 5 days and still havenβt gotten a call from the general manager, Iβm guessing sheβs who trained the employees since they are all terrible in my opinion. Also $40 a day to park, as you pay that expect to wait about 30 mins each time you need your car.
Really enjoyed the hotel. Staff we interacted with were extremely friendly and helpful. Great location for experiencing New Orleans. 1 1/2 blocks from Canal St and 1 block over to Bourbon St. Walgreen s at the corner of on Canal.Room took care of our needs. Comfortable beds, bathroom great, small refrigerator for incidentals. Great value for the cost versus staying at a more expensive Marriott that might have better amenities. We were there to go out and have fun. Sleep in the room, not much time at the hotel.Pool was nice, clean and convenient. We had some drinks at the bar in the lobby, decent price, nice bartenders, nice TVs to watch sports.Would definitely stay there again.
I had a room on the top floor. I thought Great, Ill have a cool view. But no. My room on the 17th floor had no windows. Also the lights in the room were dim, even the reading lights over the bed. The room was clean and the bed was nice, but I didnt enjoy it much.
Its okay if you want to stay a night or two but i couldnt stay any longer
For almost $400 a night pillow were very uncomfortable π
Beautiful, modern decor. Room was the largest regular room Ive ever booked. Comfy and quiet inside. Heard fire trucks and police sirens all night the first two nights, which was a bit frustrating. This couldve been because of Mardi Gras and the weekend traffic though. Hotel staff was beyond pleasant. Called and requested toilet tissue. Staff arrived at room within three minutes of phone call with tissue. Very, very pleased with this hotel. Will definitely visit here again. Might make this my go-to spot for stays when in NOLA.
This hotel is very well kept and has a very modern twist to it. I can honestly say I definitely enjoyed my stay at the Aloft New Orleans and look forward to booking for Alofts for future travels. The only downside to this was the bathroom wasnt very private but I wont let that knock it down a star by any means. This place was clean, fresh, and friendly, the French Quarter is about a 5 minute walk which is a huge plus considering the affordableness of this hotel! Overall I definitely recommend and would definitely stay here again!
Not clean (towels had marks/stains on them). Front desk was not helpful - they couldnt even get us additional towels when ours were dirty. Our room had at least two dents or punches in the walls that were not repaired at all.We believe our dog got fleas from their room as well! Beware this hotel - it does not live up to the typical Marriott standard.
Nice hotel and very safe with good passive security. Donβt bother calling β you get the run around on the phone.
Nice front bar
Great hotel. Its close to everything
It was a great location, close to the French Quarter and walking distance to 2 parking garages.Staff was friendly. Jennifer was Awesome and moved us to another room due to our air-conditioning wasnt working. It was a pet friendly hotel. The bad was the beautiful pool was closed and the rooftop was closed. No continental breakfast or doggie bag as the website had stated. Really needed to update the website because we chose that hotel for the aspects that were not available. We would stay there again after checking what the amnienites actually are. But it was clean.
This is an amazing place
It is a good hotel to stay because of the service you receive
My stay at Aloft was amazing. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and well kept. The bar is great - it even has places for the kids to play if Mom and Dad want a drink. The location cant be beat - right in the CBD but easy walking distance to the French Quarter. You wont be disappointed staying here!
Positive: Nice big roomy room, very clean Negative: Only complaint, there was only decaf in the room. Which was a bummer, waking up hung over and in a hurry to leave
I absolutely loved my stay! Everything was great! I really appreciated the complimentary water and the cleanliness of the hotel. Such a great vibe overall! Also the young lady who checked us in, Jessica, went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and fun! She gave us so many great recommendations for places to eat in New Orleans and was so warm to us each time we saw her. I canβt find enough words to tell you how much of a great person and employee she is!!! Her and how great the hotel is makes me want to come back to New Orleans for a visit!! The whole staff we encountered were great too!
Nice place good location !
As you settle more in life - want the action but want to sleep in peace - enjoying the French Quarter and getting back to your hotel for a great night rest is important; and, it is important that it isnt 20 blocks away. Aloft is a GREAT alternative - great proximity - quiet and safe. Clean - Awesome Service - Stylish Taste. Great place to stay!!
This hotel is stylish and well designed overall. It has a casual but elegant feel. There is a pool table in the lobby and games in the bar off the side. Having a little store with food in the lobby is a great idea if you need something quick. Breakfast was cheap and decent - had the breakfast sandwich. The but is because we got a room with no windows which was a first and was disconcerting. It was a lovely room and the desk person told me it was one of her favorites because it was more roomy. The bed was super comfortable and the room was well appointed. Since we were only staying one night and would be out most of the time, we decided to go with and see how it felt. Overall, it was fine (once we figured out something to use for a night light to find the bathroom during the night) but I would request a room with windows in the future.
This hotel was in the ideal location to everything you need in a stay downtown New Orleans. Id give that 5 stars no doubt. However, I cant give it 5 stars for other reasons. My bed was very uncomfortable and my husband and I woke up with back aches for our 2 night stay. The room was also very dusty, so we tried to open the windows and the windows wouldnt open. There was also dog hair all over my husbands jacket from the bench in our room. I love that its a dog friendly hotel, but they should also be attending better to the rooms as pets hair can get everywhere. The staff was GREAT and were very nice upon check in. I dont think Id stay here at this location again though. The cost was VERY high after Mardi Gras and the most important thing, the bed, didnt make for a good nights sleep/stay.
Nice welcoming staff, easy checkin makes this place a great hotel to select. I lucked up on a room WITH windows so just know that thereβs a possibility you will not be as fortunate. Service amenities and location make this place a great book for the money spent.
Loved the hotel, just as good as any Aloft we have stayed in. The staff was super friendly from the front desk to the maintenance staff. The hotel was perfectly located, just a couple of blocks from Bourbon St. and the French Quarter. Definitely would stay there again.
I loved everything about this hotel. The look is fresh and colorful, and the staff were really friendly. It was positioned one block from Canal and walking distance to everything including the Superdome.. The only thing I was slightly disappointed in was that there was no microwave in our room.
Nice hotel and location. But, the day AFTER we checked out, they charged us for valet parking even though I had booked a special rate with valet parking included through the Marriott website. They hotel refused to issue a refund even after several calls, even from my credit card company. Too many other hotel choices out there, so we wonβt be back.
Amazing job to every team member I interacted with! Your professionalism, care and ability to resolve the 1 concern I had expediently was greatly appreciated! I was able to enjoy my stay, stress free and comfortably, thanks to your availability and consistence presence and attention to detail.
A VERY minimalist hotel. I make frequent trips to New Orleans for business. I though Id give this hotel a try because I liked what I seen on the web site. WRONG!! I do applaud the Front desk staff, valet, and concierge. They were absolutely great. But overall, the hotel was not very clean. My room floor was filthy. The bench across from my bed was dirty and had old cigarette butts on it. Bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. Will NOT stay there again and will not recommend to anyone. This hotel must cater to a very young party crowd.
Check in was easy.Room was perfect.Comfy bed and pillows.Great views from 17th floor.Bathroom had Lush products provided that were very nice.Shower head has nice pressure and is adjustable. They stored our bags because we had a late flight. Also super easy. The staff was extremely friendly.
It was a very clean hotel with a attractive lobby, nice elevator, clean halls. The room was nice, quiet, clean and stylish . Coffee, bean and bottle water provided in room. I wish the bottles of water were in glass. View from the room was nice, street view. The internet was unsecured and didnt work well on the interior of the building. I never could get it to work on my laptop. I could get unsecured service on my iPhone, the digital room key never did work. The bar downstairs in the lobby was nice and professional. The drinks were good and the prices reasonable. The lobby had a pool table which was pretty cool to pass the time while I waited on my comrades.
Have stayed at Aloft a few times and enjoyed it. So we booked it again. This time was not so Good. Our TV kept going out and we had to have a guy come to the room and fix it 3 times. Our room keys would work for the elevator and not the room! There was also a wet spot on our carpet next to the bed we got to step in not sure what that was. Anyway for That money there are better places to stay. I will choose somewhere else next time.
